A podcast about finding soul freedom and healing in Christ.
Grounded in Scripture, this podcast teaches listeners how to walk in freedom and wholeness by combining Biblical truths with practical steps.
Laura speaks on the topics of depression, self-hatred, anxiety, healthy relationships, and boundaries from a life-giving Biblical perspective.
In this episode, I share a meaningful Christmas tradition as my gift to you. I'm reading the story of Jesus' birth from the Book of Luke the way my grandfather did each Christmas before my family sat down for our Christmas dinner.
Let the magnitude of these words soak in. This is the story of the birth of not only THE Savior but YOUR Savior. The One who came to bring your peace, your wholeness, your rescue, your joy, and your freedom.
John 3:16 tells us, "God so loved the world that He GAVE..." and He is our greatest gift.
Luke 1:26-56 and Luke 2:1-20*

My daughter, Sarah, is on the podcast and she has some powerful words to share.
Listen in as Sarah shares what she has learned about choosing to cultivate her own relationship with God. She shares barriers she has pushed through and the inner strength that comes from knowing she is never alone.
This is a great listen for all ages!
Grief, simply put, is acknowledging the loss of someone or something that mattered. So why do we make grief so complicated? Why to we run from it, refuse it, self-medicate it, shame ourselves out of it, or sit in it forever and never move past it?
Well, I believe it's because we don't know how, or with Who, to process it in a healthy way.
Listen in for a perspective shift on grief. You may just learn that grief can be Holy Ground.
Today, on the podcast, I'm sharing a message I preached at my home church in Madison, AL. We were celebrating our 30th Church Anniversary and I was honored to preach the Wednesday night service.
I chose to share it here because it contains a significant part of my own testimony of this walk of freedom, and I believe it will be a blessing to you.

In part 3 of our series on Forgiveness, we dive into Matthew 5 and unpack this often misunderstood passage of scripture.
You have heard to, "Turn the other cheek," and "walk the extra mile," but you may not have known Jesus wasn't even teaching on forgiveness her, but rather righteous resistance. Listen in!
If this podcast has been helpful to you, please consider sharing with a friend!
Forgiveness IS.... simply changing your Source. It's a supply chain question of Who you look to for repair of what's been broken or to restore what has been lost. This question is answered when we learn to move from an orphan mentality to a Covenant mentality. Join me in this week's teaching and learn to shift your source.

Forgiveness is one of those topics that is often misunderstood, misused, and even mistaught. Rather than scripture bringing freedom, it's used to bring bondage.
No more.
In this first installment of our 3-part series on the topic of forgiveness, we explore what forgiveness is not.
I celebrated my 40th birthday last month and have been thinking back on what I've learned this year. I share ten of those things in this week's episode.
Many people outstay a season, remain in toxic situations, or continue in environments they've outgrown over fear of being seen as "quitting."
But what if you're NOT quitting? What if, instead, you're leaving?
In this episode, we explore the difference.

There are three different voices speaking to you, telling you what's right and wrong. What is their source and which can be trusted?
In this week's episode, we explore the voices of the "Three C's-" Conviction, Condemnation, and Culture.
Rejection. We've all felt it and faced it... or maybe we ran from it afraid of what it might mean.In this episode, you will listen in on conversation between Elizabeth Chumbley and Laura on Elizabeth's podcast - The Fearless You Podcast. The conversation explores 4 roots of rejection in our lives and how to respond to each one.To connect with Elizabeth Chumbley and The Fearless You Podcast, find her through the links below:https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-fearless-you-podcast/id1676116864http://facebook.com/fearlessyouministrieshttp://instagram.com/fearlessyouministrieshttps://www.youtube.com/@fearlessyouministries
We wrap up our 3 part segment of the Gift of Restoration with a deeper look at what restoration is...depending on Whose side you've chosen to be on. Restoration for the one in captivity looks like loss for the one who held them captive. It all comes down to the heart.
In this week's episode I share what God spoke to my heart in June 2019 and what He has been stirring in my heart, ever since, regarding REVIVAL!

Restoration. Sometimes that word feels it may not apply to us because, as far we can see, it's been destruction and devastation. In this episode, we look at what God's will for restoration looks like by looking at the ministry of Jesus. Because when we see Jesus (His mission, intentions, actions, words, heart) we see the same of the Father. Seeing this is the beginning of seeing with a Covenant perspective. God's Covenant gift to you is the gift of Restoration.
Repentance can have a negative connotation, especially if that word was used to shame you. But Biblical forgiveness is a GIFT and is one of the benefits of your Covenant with God through Jesus. Listen to learn the 5 benefits of Repentance.
Being His = Being Free
Welcome to the Laura Mayer podcast, a podcast all about learning to walk in the mental, emotional, and relational freedom Jesus provided for you. This week I share what I've learned, over the past year, about Rest and how Rest is not REWARD based but instead it's WORTH based. IG: @lauraradwaymayerFB: Laura Mayerwww.lauramayer.org *I also give an answer for my absence because I felt it was important for the podcast moving forward.
What an honor is was to sit down with my mom as she told her own story of freedom. In this interview style episode, you will hear her share her journey of discovering there was more to God than she had been taught as a child, how she learned to pray the Word over her children, learning to walk in victory, when she first learned she had a covenant with God (and what the meant), and her journey learning about her authority in Christ.
Relationships can feel so messy and can leave you feeling like things in your life depend on what the other person does or doesn't do. In this episode, we will discover how to get off the relationship roller-coaster and get back in charge of your own life by uncovering the root of why you gave up control in the first place and why you are staying stuck.
The books I list in this episode are:
Boundaries by Henry Cloud and John Townsend
Emotionally Healthy Spirituality by Peter Scazzero
How to Deal with Powerful Personalities by Dr. Time Kimmel
Sometimes it's more than simply church hurt. Sometimes it goes way deeper into something more sinister. In our final episode in this series on Church Hurt, I share my own story and tackle the little spoken of topic called Church Abuse.

We continue our series of overcoming church hurt and how this hurt can cause us to change our view of ourselves.
Satan loves to work through hurt and offense to draw us into isolation where he can further steal, kill, and destroy. Many people are walking around with wounds from churches, pastors, and others who should have been there to love and protect but weren't.
Listen in to understand how church is NOT God and how wounds from church can skew our view of His character.
Not all storms have the same origins. Because of this, they also have different fixes. Listen in to hear the 3 reasons storms come in our lives and the 3 responses to go with those storms

We don't have to go through life offended and triggered. Extending His forgiveness disconnects us from the offense and receiving His healing heals the wound the offense caused.

Time doesn't heal wounds...unless it's time in His presence. Listen and learn how your reactions and problems in relationships may be due to doing life with a wounded heart.
Struggling with the same issue over and over? Listen up as that issue becomes so small compared to your identity in Christ, and learn how to run toward your new nature instead of away from your old one. The difference is game changing.
Just as I promised in the last episode, I explore 4 barriers to hearing God's voice. Knowing these barriers empowers you to remove them!
Ever have a big decision and ask God to send you a sign telling you what to do? I know I have, but I've learned there is a better way. Listen in as I share this better way with you. You will also learn WHY it's important to be led of God confidently from the inside instead of relying on the outside.
Do you ever feel like its so hard to hear from God? Or maybe wonder why others say they sense His leading and yet you struggle to sense anything? This episode is for you.

But... there is a solution, and it's found in Psalm 1. Listen in on how to stay rooted in Christ in these last days so you are able to bear much fruit, be a part of solutions instead of perpetuating problems, and be part of the greatest revival the world has ever seen.
You have a past- a story to tell- but you desperately want healing from it first. Listen in learn the power of giving up your story.
*My apology for lack of music in this episode. I was having technical difficulties but felt it best to publish on time instead of waiting for perfection...practicing what I preach.
WE humans are wired for love and when that love goes unfulfilled, we seem to respond in 3 main ways:
Push everything away that may hurt us again
Find substitutes for love that have no ability to reject us.
Remove all healthy boundaries and throw ourselves 110% with the other person's happiness our only concern. Fear of rejection drives us to never disappoint anyone.
At the root of these is the fact we have a longing, and that longing left unattended leaves an area of lack.
Listen today as I discuss recognizing the LONGING, seek to uncover what's LACKING, the fill it with PERFECT LOVE.
Do you ever feel too condemned and dirty to spend time with God? Like you need to get cleaned up before asking Him anything?
Or maybe the whole time you're at church, you feel like the biggest phony regardless of how hard you try?
Or maybe your prayer life just feels dead and you long to feel closer to God but don't know how?
If any of this sounds familiar to you, listen in to this week's podcast episode, "Righteousness and Ballgown." There is a secret you need to know.
Where does that "try harder" drive come from and how do you break free? I'm not talking about the drive that propels you toward a healthy level of excellence but instead that tormenting voice inside your head that won't let you rest. It only repeats, "Try Harder. You're not enough."
FEAR is a spiritual force that draws things to you the same way that FAITH is a spiritual force that draws things to you. Listen in!
In this episode we discover how feeding on the Word of God can "vaccinate" us against fear. Much like an antibody fights a virus, revelation of God's LOVE fights fear.
