Jason, Ben, and Corrigan play classic LucasArts video games (and related games) and talk about them. They cover the history, gameplay, and the most difficult puzzles from those old adventure games you love. Monkey Island, Indiana Jones, Sam & Max, and Day of the Tentacle are all covered here, plus a few insights, interviews, and some snazzy music. Plus a bunch more of course. New episodes up monthly. Relive your youth or someone else’s!
Hey all, thanks for joining us along this journey for the last 9 years. We stared Men Of Low Moral Fiber when I was 30 years old and I just turned 39, so all of my 30s were consumed with recording MOLMF episodes, editing them, publishing, planning, scheduling, and playing the actual MOLMF games. It was exhausting and exhilarating and I'll never forget it...aside from all of the stuff I forgot along the way.
The whole idea was to do this as a community, focus on relationships, and have a little fun along the way as an excuse to stay in touch. It was one a lovely time full of learning, hilarity, entertaining moments, frustrating puzzles, obscene duck and chicken censors, lots of stupid musical segments—complete with equally stupid musical theme songs, and an insightful guest or two along the way.
All in all we covered 90 full game episodes, plus 39 Side Quests, holiday episodes, and random interviews and shorts along the way. If you were one of the special people who celebrated these classic games along with us, we thank you.
It's been real, but now we're closing up shop. Don't worry though, I'll be playing Outer Wilds, Inscryption, and Balatro FOREVER...just not recording episodes about them. Or at least not publishing them.
We'll miss you all.
Now that the games and episodes are over, I hope we can still stay in touch.
—Ben Of Low Moral Fiber
(Corrigan and Jason say goodbye too)
This game is a delight. Hope you get a chance to check it out. Plus there aren't really any spoilers so feel free to listen then play it—it's only 3-4 hours anyway. Enjoy!
After some bonding and bff-ing Corri and Ben finally get to talking about the game (10:00) before talking about the actual development shortly after and eventually getting the gameplay (26:15). They play a rousing round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (58:30) before taking a trip to the Recommendation Station (1:10:00) and talking about next month's game, which we're very excited about.

It's Gwent! It's Sabacc! It's Inscryption!
Nope. It's Balatro!!!
And boy howdy, is it a fun freaking game. If you like card games or deck builders, you'll probably fall in love with this delightful poker-adjascent game, just as we did. Give it a shot! Hope you enjoy our conversation about it...
We chat about well, just about everything for a bit, then eventually get into the gameplay of Balatro (17:15) and play a yummy round of "What's The Beer? What's The Song?" (29:45). They finish things off with a visit to the Recommendation Station (40:30) before talking about next month's game...psst! Shh...don't tell anyone, but we're playing What The Golf next month. Can't wait!

Corrigan's favorite game! What a pleasure it was to dive into the brain of our dear cohost and find out what makes it tick. Spoiler: lots of death is what makes it tick. Unsurprisingly. Anyway, this game has all the cuteness and death a girl could want so hope you get a chance to play it too. Enjoy!
Lots of tomfoolery in this one but after many distractions the Jason-less crew finally gets into some of the gameplay (21:30) before a delightful round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (1:06:45). Then Ben and Corri take a trip to ye olde Recommendation Station (1:14:00) before ending with talking about next month's game...which will be coming out very soon. Sorry for the tardiness! We're working on it.

We finally played Journey—one of our longest-awaited games and you should definitely play it. Not to spoil the episode completely, but it's a beautiful game and all three of us (minus one of us) LOVED it, plus it's only like 2 hours long so you don't have any excuses. Get on it! Also this might be our longest MOLMF ep ever, and the first to be longer than the game itself! So yeah. That's fun.
We get into the development after a lot of horsing around off the top (14:15) then very loosely get into the gameplay (30:45) before playing a rousing game of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (57:00). After that we get into a rather lengthy (and rambly) segment of MOLMF! In The News! (1:19:30) before unloading all of our recent addictions and binges in a wonderful visit to our dear Recommendation Station (1:39:00).

We're doing a new thing! We're starting the MOLMF Book Club. And no, we don't books, we play games! We're starting with the iconic Nier Automata as a full blown episode, then the following parts of the Nier book club will be released as Side Quests in between regular monthly episodes. Jason was joined by avid gamer and Nier appreciator Dr. Jim Creel.
Hope you get a chance to play the game first, but there's time to catch up with subsequent Nier episodes coming soon!

Happy new month everyone! We're back and better than ever and enjoying our annual visit from none other than Kyo Edmoundson talking all about this month's game: Dredge! Hope you got a chance play it because it's super fun and pretty dang short. Get in here and join us.
We start things off with a little jibberjabber then touch on the development (15:30) before getting deeeeep into the gameplay (24:30). Then we play a cthuvian round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (52:00), take a quick trip over to the Recommendation Station (1:17:15) before talking about next month's game (1:33:00). Enjoy!

Ben's eldest kid, Olivia was on the podcast a few years ago but now they're back and bigger and better than ever and have a carefully curated list of their top 18 video games they're dying to tell you about. Olivia put a lot of time into this list and have very specific notes, so hopefully this episode can help you pick your next fun adventure, or if you're looking for games for your kiddos, this is a great resource for you.
I promise it's a very cute episode too. And for those of you who like to pick and choose, here's the full list (sans timecodes b/c I'm very tired):

We're back and later than ever! Here's our December episode and it's the beautiful puzzle game The Gardens Between. As usual, we all felt very differently about this game, but in the end we all very much enjoyed the experience. Hope you got a chance to play it too!
After our intros and game development chitchat we get into the gameplay (12:15) before diving deep into our drinks in "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (26:45). Then we drive on down to the Recommendation Station (48:30) and finish things off by talking about next month's game (1:03:15). Enjoy!
Stay tuned for our holiday ep out this weekend. Better late than never!

We're back! Happy holidays and new years and all that: here's our belated November episode: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor! We were lucky to back Tyler Weaver back on the pod after he joined us for the first game, Jedi: Fallen Order. We had a lovely time, and can't wait to have him back for Star Wars Outlaws sometime in 2024. And despite what Jason continues to say throughout this episode, all three of us really enjoyed this game! Hope you enjoy this episode just as much...
We dive right into the development and after that get deeeeeep into the gameplay pretty quick (12:30) before a yummy round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (50:45). Then we take a trip down to the Recommendation Station (1:02:15) before talking about next month's game (1:12:45) which in reality will be next week's game. (Keep reading)
Wow sorry for the delay in this November 2023 episode (oops). Some big life things happened and well, we're a little late. But we're going to still get our December game out next week and Holiday Special soon after that so we should be right back on track for 2024 come February. Whew!

We're finally doing it! Our epic episode on our latest favorite game ever: Baldur's Gate 3. Corri sat this one out but Ben and Jason had a grand old time talk the ins and outs of this epic adventure. Give it a listen as we kept it pretty spoiler-free throughout. Maybe in a a few months we'll circle back and do a full on spoiler-filled version once the boys have both completed it. Enjoy!

Strong Bad, Homestar, and The Cheat are BACK! This time in a trilogy to end all trilogies in the freshly rewrapped and vamped again: Dangeresque: The Roomisode Triungulate! We couldn't help ourselves and had to immediately insert this magnificent game directly into our calendar, and then directly into our veins and eye holes. MAN OH MAN was it a treat too. Hope you get a chance to enjoy it as well!
After some silliness Corri, Ben, & Jason get into the serious stuff of what this game is and how it came to be (5:45) then dive deeeeeep into the gameplay (22:30). After that, the gang drinks and sings itself silly in a wondrous round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (45:40) before taking a lovely trip down the road to the Recommendation Station (57:45) with some fun new sfx. Enjoy!
And make sure you listen to the end to hear what we'll be playing next month. It's a new game, but also it's from a long time ago...

Hope you didn't starve while waiting for this episode to satiate your ravenous hunger for our dulcet tones! We're back and ready to chat all about Klei Entertainment's Don't Starve that came out originally in 2013. It's an oldie but a goodie in this month's game, and we're joined by none other than the delightful Gabi Kirilloff to walk us through all the good and the not-as-good aspects of the game.
After some chitchat nonsense the gang gets into the history of the game and development before getting deep into the gameplay (26:30). After that they play an problematic round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (56:00), then they hit up the Recommendation Station (1:05:40), then mess up talking about next month's game (1:17:00). Hope you enjoy the ep!

Another month sans Corrigan, but the Helms Bros are back at it again with a blast from the...recently released games: Season: A Letter to the Future. A laid-back adventure game with an ethereal aesthetic that is best when you're not rushing through things, Season was a joy to play. Sit down on a sacred square of earth and listen as we recap our favorite moments together...
After the shenanigans, the boys talk about some of the controversy of the game and Scavengers Studios as a whole (7:30) then get into the majority of the conversation which centers around the gameplay (13:15). Then they play a yummy round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (54:00), visit the Recommendation Station (59:30), then finish things off talking about next month's game. Enjoy!

Heeee's baaaack! Not only are we joined by our old FMOLMF Richard Nile, but he's bringing along our old trusty explorer, Indiana Jones as we Crusade across the globe for the Last time on an Adventure of the most tip-top, highest-resolution, most beautifully-colored, most exciting game (for its time) ever made (at the time). Grab your bull whip and fedora, it's time to get a-puzzlin'!
After some introductory tomfoolery, the boys get into the history of the game (11:00) and dive deeeep into the gameplay shortly after (26:00). Then they play a rousing game of WTDWTS (51:00), take a trip to the Recommendation Station (58:00), then chitchat about next month's game (1:16:00). Thanks again to Rich for joining us! Hey there Zelda fans, have we got a game for you! We did our MOLMFiest on this one and nailed the perfect Goldilocks between the three hosts: one of us loved it, one of us hated it, and Ben though it was juuuuuuuust...fine. Hope you got a chance to play this gem of a game this month but honestly there aren't a lot of story spoilers here; a few gameplay ones for sure though. Enjoy!
After the usual shenanigans and BS the gang finally gets into the development (6:00) and deeeeep into the gameplay after that (14:15). Of course there's a rousing round of WTDWTS (51:45) and a quick little visit to our old trusty Recommendation Station (1:03:45) and not only next month's game but we outline the next few months worth of games so look forward to that (1:14:45).

Aaaaaand we're back! Sorry for the delay there but we have two episodes coming your way this month to make up for it. This one's all about the modern forest fable Beacon Pines. As usual, we all have very different opinions on the game, which is just the hot goss you listen for every month. Hope you enjoy this episode!
Corrigan, Ben, and Jason start out with a lot of nonsense, and by nonsense I mean what Jason's been up to for the past few weeks, then they get into the actual game of Beacon Pines (28:15). After a loooooong gameplay chat they get into a classic round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (1:04:15), take a trip to the ol' Recommendation Station (1:35:30) and that really turns into a whole thing before they finally get into the future landscape of upcoming MOLMF games on the way (2:09:45).
Well that was an epic show. Look forward to our game on Tunic, coming very soon!

The gang got together and played Disco Elysium this month and WOW. What a game it was. Corrigan took the month off and subbed in her partner, Kyo Edmoundson, and it was great getting his thoughts on the game. Hope you enjoy this meandering conversation where covered just about everything in this 2-hour episode and it still felt like we barely scratched the surface of this super-detailed and mega-dense game. Enjoy!
We start off with some intros and big idea stuff then finally set up the game and setting (19:40) before getting into the development and more recent company news (29:10). After that we dive deeper into the gameplay with a few spoilers eventually (43:00 ish) before playing a resounding round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (1:24:45). Then we take a visit to the Recommendation Station (1:45:50) and pick next mont's game at the VERY end of the pod.
Whew! What an episode. Thanks again to Kyo for joining us!

It's finally here!! We did it. After years and years, we finally get to go back to our titular flagship and most MOLMFian universe in the latest Ron Gilbert and Dave Grossman nostalgiathon: Return To Monkey Island. Enjoy.
Some obligatory shenanigans to start things off then the gang gets into the gameplay (16:15) and eventually get around to WTDWTS (1:02:30). They talk about What Else They've Been Playing...which still needs a musical bump (1:14:45), and visit the Recommendation Station (1:18:15) before peacing out until our HOLIDAY EPISODE. Look forward to that next week!

Our Spookilogy is complete! I know, I know, we're a month past Halloween, that didn't stop us from playing three scary games. This third one is a doozie too! Soma comes to us from the makers of Amnesia and Penumbra, and also comes to us from our good FOLMF Dr. Wendi Sierra noted scholar, game developer, writer, and big ol' fan of Soma. Thanks again for coming on the pod Wendi!
We start off talking big ideas, then get into spoilers after (11:30), then we dive into the lore a bit (43:20), and finally get into the main reason behind everything: Are we living in a simulation? (55:30)
Next month: Return to Monkey Island!!! Okay...actually only a week or so away. Can't wait to talk to the gang about this one b/c it's magnificent. Get on it!

Happy Halloween! Here's the second of three games of our MOLMFoween Spooktacular Trifectathon!!!
But seriously Inscryption is the greatest game ever and yes Ben is writing this and it doesn't matter what Jason and Corri think about Inscryption because it's amazing and one of the best games I've ever played and I can't stop playing it and if they ever stop then they probably didn't even really get it anyway. Whew! What are you still doing here? Go play Inscryption! NOW! IT'S AMAZING!
The gang gets into this crazy creepy card game and stave off spoilers for awhile, but eventually things take a turn for the worse and all of them get eaten by the spoiler monster (28:30). After that the Drinkensong enhabits their corpses and sings a few drunken tunes and they talk about what else has been possessing them as of late (1:09:45), before taking a long and dangerous ride to the Recommendation Station (1:18:00)...then they talk about our next game: SOMA!!! Which will be out very soon. And is also creepy af. Can't wait. Smooches!
And of course, thank you for listening our podcast! If you enjoyed this episode please go rate and review it on iTunes or wherever else you're listening to it or better yet go tell an influential friend (or twelve) who might just like it as well. Thanks for helping to spread the word!

Welcome to the first of our THREE Halloween episodes coming at you the next few weeks! Cult Of The Lamb, then Inscryption, followed by SOMA. So get on it. Play along with us! Looking forward to three spooky games in a row coming your way soon!
Okay, enough jibber jabber about a bunch of games. This month we're bringing you ONE GAME: Cult Of The Lamb. And boy, what a game it was. And yes...eventually we talk about other games, but we all played this game and it was grand. Check it out...
After the intro we talk about COTL for a loooong time, then compare it to drinks and songs (58:30), and of course talk about what else we've been playing (1:06:45). After that, Jason brings on his kiddos for a little Kids Of Low Moral Fiber segment (1:12:15) and then we take a little trip to the Recommendation Station (1:19:30), and then we talk about what the next few episodes will look like.

Jason and Ben are back for this Side Quest and they're diving deeeeeep into the Lands Between and sharing their triumphs, failures, resurrections, and pure joyful moments playing the now legendary game that is Elden Ring.
They start off with some big ideas, then get specifically into Ben's experience finally taking the plunge after months of Jason telling him to play (10:40), then go back and forth talking about the highs and lows of their combined 300+ hrs of gameplay (25:00), before devolving into just quoting random lines of dialogue from their favorite NPCs and their favorite and very nerdy, yet still glorious co-op moments. Hope you enjoy the listen, even if you haven't played this epically long, yet amazing game.
The gang will be back in a few weeks talking all about what else they've been playing, with a special spotlight on a game all 3 of them played: Cult of the Lamb. Damn that game is fun...and addicting. Be careful out there!

We're back again with our new podcast style: a giant jumble of what we've been playing! Huzzah! Hopefully this little table of contents will help you if you're looking for something specific.
After chatting about some of the changes, the gang gets into what Corri's been up to this month - mostly Pyschonauts 2 (16:00). Then Jason gets into his month of games, which included Calico (35:30), Hitman 3 (39:45), and Inventory Hero (53:45) before Ben gets into what else he's been playing, such as Stray (56:00) and Elden Ring (57:30). They also chat about Neon White (1:04:33), Garth Marenghi's Darkplace (1:07:15), and Nope (1:11:40).

We have kind of a different episode for you this month. Instead of playing ONE game, the gang gets together and talks about ALL the games they've been enamored with as of late. And instead of one game getting a drink and a song, each one of us tried to summarize our entire month's journey into a drink and a song. Hope you enjoy!
Jason starts things off (8:45), then it's Corrigan's turn (34:30), and finally Ben finishes off the month summaries (51:15), and we end by chatting about next month's game (1:10:30).

We're back this month with a Side Quest episode betwixt two "normal" episodes...but honestly this is functionally just a normal episode with two caveats: The normal Men Of Low Moral Fiber have been replaced by our lovely guest, with just as much and/or more levels of Moral Fiber. John LaTour joins Corrigan to talk about their latest obsession: Death's Door. They even get into the development and gameplay, and play a whole round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" too. It really is a great, thorough, delightful romp of a Side Quest. Enjoy!
Thanks again for listening!

There's games that have crafting, then there are crafting games, and this one my friends is a crafting game. Much of enjoyable, plenty of laughs and good times, but MAN. There was some crafting to be done! And thanks again to our very first POLMF: David Botluk. Pleasure having him on the show and I'm sure he'll back again soon. Thanks for joining us! Hope you enjoy the pod!
After some introductory banter, we get into the development (11:00) and eventually that bleeds into the gameplay (16:00). Then we get into Ben's Big Three Preguntas (27:30) and of course a delicious round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (59:00). After a quick (hahaha) Recommendation Station (1:14:00), and a Developer Spotlight (1:37:00), we get into a little MOLMF In The News (1:42:15) and chat about Next Month's Game (1:45:30)...sorta.
And of course thank you so much for listening! If you enjoyed this episode please go rate and review it on iTunes or wherever else you're listening to it or better yet go tell an influential friend (or twelve) who might just like it as well. Thanks for helping to spread the word!

This game was....hard. Very, very difficult. But man was it rewarding when it was fun. And pretty. We dove DEEEEEP into the Deepnest of this game and hope you were able to play it along with us. Give it a listen and enjoy our conversation that somewhat involves this fantastic indie game...
We chit chat for a few, then get into the making of the game (7:45), then chat about the many influences of the game (18:00). Also we recorded a delightful little lore explainer (31:00), then get onto each of our experiences with actually playing the game after that (43:00). Eventually we get to "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (1:14:15), Recommendation Station (1:33:45), MOLMF In The News (1:45:45), and at some point in there we chat about next month's game, which (spoiler) I've already played and it's super freaking fun!

Man oh man this game was surprisingly TERRIFYING. Just wow. If you were lucky enough to play the original Outer Wilds back when we covered it in 2019, then you were probably just as excited to get back to this universe and boy did it deliver. Wow. It's an amazing game, but also a liiiittle scary. So get your big boy pants on and join us as we dive deeeeeeep into the DLC Echoes Of The Eye with our great FOLMF, Tyler Weaver...
We start off just chatting development and early gameplay stuff before getting into the lore a bit (20:15), then we hit the spoilers HARD (25:45). We finally get into the gameplay (42:30) before playing a delicious round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (53:15). We say goodbye to Tyler and have a lovely visit to the Recommendation Station (1:02:00), a very enjoyable Developer Spotlight (1:16:30), and end with talking about next month's game (1:18:45). Beware...it's a HARD GAME. Enjoy!

Usually when Jason suggest a game, Corri and Ben roll their eyes and grumble. Well that's what happened here too...but then they played Hades and TOTALLY CHANGED THEIR MINDS!!! Man this game is dope. Ben and Corri each put 80+ hours into it this month and wow. What a game. Hope you get a chance to play it, even if you've never played a rogue-like before (like 2/3 of us). Great story, fun gameplay, addictive setup all around. Check it out!
We start out checking in, then get into the development and making-of (6:30), then dive deeeeep into the gameplay after that (17:30). We chat about our favorite builds (31:45), our favorite characters (43:30), and Jason gives us an education in Rogues and Rogue-likes (58:00). Eventually we meaner on down to the discopub for some "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (1:12:15), and visit the Recommendation Station (1:22:00). After that we have our Dev Spotlight (1:37:15) and a lengthy segment of MOLMF! In The News! (1:39:18). And of course we end things talking about next month's game (1:51:03), which is kind of a throwback...in a sense...get psyched!

Another day, another sequel! That's right, we're back and talking about one of our most favoritest franchises ever: PYSCHONAUTS!!! This time, the recently-released sequel aptly entitled: Psychonauts 2!
After some intro-ing we get into the development (7:00) then seamlessly slide right into the gameplay (13:00). Eventually we get into a classic round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" but somehow do it backwards...? (37:45). Dev spotlight after that (1:02:30) and we end things talking about next NEXT month's game that Corrigan got to pick (1:07:45).
That's it for now. Thanks again for another great seasons of MOLMF! See you next week for our Holiday Special.

As long as we've been playing video games, we've been playing sports video games. From NHL '94 and NBA JAM to NFL Blitz and FIFA, we love the challenging, fun, and social nature of these games. So we figured, let's do a whole ep focused on just that. It's a little bit of a turn from our usual pointy, clicky adventures, but we figured if we enjoy these games, we might have a few listeners who do too.
One of those listeners is our dear FOLMF, Brent Peterson, who joined us again this week to chat about his experience in sporting games. Enjoy!

Happy Halloweeeeen!!! Hope you had your fill of candy and were also able to play Little Nightmares 2 this month. If not, give it a go now. It's sure to keep the creep factor going for a little while long.
We meandered through the intro and development and eventually arrive at the gameplay section (14:00), then we play some "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (47:00), and talk about some of our favorite spooky game moments (59:40). Then we take a trip to the Recommendation Station (1:16:45), Developer Spotlight (1:22:45), and talk about next month's game (1:25:30).

We're pushing back our Halloween game a few week so we can get our latest obsession onto the pod: DEATHLOOOOOP! Definitely enjoying this latest hit from Arkane, so hopefully you get a chance to play it for a bit.
After the intros, Jason lead us through development (7:15), before we get into a LOT of the gameplay (19:30), and finally get deeeep into spoilers (1:10:30). Of course we play "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (1:19:15), take a stop at the Recommendation Station (1:33:00) and Developer Spotlight (1:39:30). Again, we're playing Little Nightmares 2 and will try to get it released before Halloween for ya!

After some intros and shenanigans we get into the development of Going Under (8:45) before diving into the gameplay and general thoughts on the game (19:15). Then we play a rousing round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (59:00), take a visit to the Recommendation Station (1:09:00), and of course talk about what we'll be playing next month (1:32:15).

Always fun playing a new kind of game, and photography simulator was one we hadn't tackled yet. Umurangi Generation was not only fun, but it was also amazingly well-crafted and told a poignant story with a thought-provoking POV. Really refreshing and just a great time overall. Hope you get a chance to play it!
We start off by talking about how the game came to be in the first place, then get into the gameplay (28:30) and then play "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (50:30). We eventually get onboard at the Recommendation Station (59:15) and then spotlight an indie developer (1:12:00) and finally talk about next month's game (1:15:00). Enjoy!

We played another game! I know, just when you thought we could never top the greatness of our previous episode, we go out and do just that! Anyway, here's a great game called A Short Hike that we all really got a kick out of. It's a shorty, but a goodie. Give it a shot and I bet you'll love it.
We start off with some intro jibber-jabber then get into the game's development and our experiences playing the game (5:50). Then we play a congenial round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (37:30), we highlight a developer with a really cool game (52:10), we mention some MOLMF-related topics in the news (57:30), a quick mention of what else we've been playing (1:01:30), and end things talking about next month's game (1:12:00). Can't wait!

Welcome back to the show, Mark Lewis! Always fun having him on the show, and always fun playing a classic Nintendo series like Mario. Just back to the basics with this one...except for it being different than any game we've ever played and a wholly unique experience completely unto itself. Hope you've gotten a chance to play it!
After some BS and intros, the gang gets into the development and gameplay (15:30) before a fun little round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (51:00). Then after some chitchat and recommendations (1:02:30) we announce next month's game (1:20:15). Enjoy!

Just a normal conversation between friends this month. Sorry, we didn't get to a game or podcast or anything. Nothing to see here...
We definitely don't chat for a big before getting into the development of a video game (10:30) and diving deep into our own experiences playing it. We definitely don't play a game based on that game where we pick a drink and a song based on that game...that doesn't exist (43:00), and we don't recommend anything else we're playing either (51:30), and we most assuredly do not talk about what game we're playing next month (64:00).
And as usual, if you enjoyed this episode, please rate and review it on iTunes or wherever else you're listening to it or better yet go tell an influential friend (or five) who might just like it as well. Thanks for helping to spread the word!

Welcome to spring! To celebrate the new blooms on the trees and new baby animals springing up everywhere, we're playing a game entirely centered around death and dying...but in the cutest way possible! Seriously though, this game was heavy, and light, and well, basically EVERYTHING to us. So much so, that we had to bring on a special guest, Corrigan's sister Erin. She helped us process our thoughts and emotions as we discussed the ups and downs of one of our favorite games of all time: Spiritfarer. Enjoy!
After some intros and BS, and some really heavy-hitting development by Jason, we get into the gameplay (7:30) and it lasts AWHILE. Eventually we get into "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (1:19:14) before a delightful Recommendation Station (1:40:00) and FINALLY we talk about next month's game (1:58:15). WHEW. What an episode!

Someday we'll make it back to a 1980s LucasArts game...BUT NOT TODAY! This month we're diving deep into Donut County and loving every sugary crumb of it. It's not often a game is created, designed, programmed, scored, and produced by just one person...but this one somehow was and it's kind of a masterpiece! So get your pink boxes ready and your dust off the powdered sugar from your favorite headphones. Let's get into it...
As always, we meander through the intro and development before getting into the gameplay itself (29:30), then play a sweet little round of "What's The Beer? What's The Song?" (51:45) before dropping our first ever kids-led segment...Kid County! (64:30) Then we chat about the other loves in our lives...more video games we've been playing (67:45) and then we highlight Amber-Leigh Blake and Anamnesis (82:45).
Thanks again for listening! Have a great month and get on next month's game. It's a doozy.

We're getting back to our roots and really pandering to our target audience (and ourselves) with this month's throwback: Escape From Monkey Island. Released in Y2K, this beast of a puzzle-monkey-kombat-adventure game is full of some of our favorite characters, locations, inside jokes, and even a nod to the name of the pod itself! Hope you get a chance to play this gem, but if not, it's kinda spoilerproof, so strap in and enjoy!
We talk A LOT about the game from a high level, then get into the gameplay specifics finally (26:15), before eventually playing an appetizing round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (46:45). Of course we talk about every other game we've been playing as of late (65:30), and at some point get to talking about next month's game (75:45). (SPOILER ALERT: It's Donut County!)

Happy holidays to all and to all a good pod! Here are our end of the year awards for all the games we played. We talk plenty of games, but also LOTS of tangents. Hope you enjoy it.
And stay tuned for our bloopers and bleepers highlight reel at the very end. It's a doozy.
It's been a great ride and we're looking to many more years of gaming together. Thanks again!

It's our December game!!! Hope this helps bring some warmth to your holiday season and Jason welcomes on Renata Price, games critic formerly of Fanbyte who somehow enjoyed Paradise Killer even more than Jason. It's a real love fest. Hope you were able to play! (Unlike lazybones Corrigan and sluggard Ben)
After the introduction they get into the development (9:00) then dive fully into gameplay and spoilers not long after that (13:45). After LOTS of high level PK talk, they bring it back down to play a lovely round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (60:00). Then Ben joins for a few minutes (67:00) where they talk about a few Black developers that are doing some amazing work, as well what our next game is, coming to you the first Friday in February 2021!
Thanks again to Ren for joining the pod and please stay tuned for our HOLIDAY SPECIAL out next week!

For the first time in the history of MOLMF, we're not publishing our game on time. 2020 is still 2020.
So while our Paradise Killer ep is still a few weeks away, Jason and Ben got together to have a little conversation about some of their favorite games they've played recently, as well dealbreakers they've discovered over the years. Enjoy!

Happy Halloween!!! Hopefully you're finding fun ways to celebrate the spookiest of holidays, full of plenty of candy and terrors--I know we are! We played the terrifying and surprisingly thoughtful and story-centric tale Little Nightmares, and we're bringing it to you a week early so you can rightfully celebrate All Hallows' Eve with our scariest episode ever. We were also honoured to have the other half of Corrigan's Jack Of All Graves podcast, Mark Lewis, join us and equally excited for his pronunciation of the word "bears". Get psyched!
After some goofs and some spoofs, we get into the development side of things (12:00) and eventually dive into a spoiler-full gameplay discussion (20:00). We play a lovely game Ben made up on the spot called "3 Questions" (45:30), and then get into a slimy, yet satisfying match of "What's The Drink? What's The Song" (62:30). Eventually we power up the ol' Recommendation Station (70:45), and finish things off nicely with a little MOLMF In The News (86:45) and next months game! We did it!

We took a quick break from Little Nightmares to play another MOLMF classic: Star Wars Squadrons. It's a new Star Wars game so of course we had to play it and we were even lucky enough to bring in our old Friend Of Low Moral Fiber Sean Thompson to help us take her for a spin!

We downloaded this game YEARS ago, so it's a pleasure to finally get to talk about it as we welcome in Dr. Wendi Sierra onto the pod as a scholar, game developer, writer, and Oneida tribe member.
We start off getting into who Wendi is and diving into her area of research, then we dive into the game itself and all of our experiences playing it. After a bit of that we have a lengthy game of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (37:00), then take a trip on the magical Recommendation Station (47:30), and a lovely little ride on the MOLMF In The News Ferry (67:15). Then we end things talking about next month's game aaaaaand that's it. Enjoy!

We're running things back...to earlier this year. That's right, it may be a new game, but it definitely hearkens back to the games of yore that inspired this pod in the first place. Hope you get a chance to play it!
It's another one of those great episodes where the history and development just smooshes into the gameplay with no discernible separation or musical interlude...so yeah. Go us. Anyway, after we talk about the game for awhile, we eventually play a rousing game of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (40:15), talk about our favorite segments (48:15), talk about what else we've been doing in the Recommendation Station (53:00), and end with talking about what we're playing next month. And yes, we're very excited about next month's game. Give it a listen!

FIFTY EPISODES! We're so happy to have been doing this podcast for 50 full episodes thus far and hope to bring you another 50 more over the next few years. Thanks again to all of our listeners and supporters for all the encouragement and engagement over the years. Hope you enjoy this special 50th episode!
Today we're re-playing Thimbleweed Park to celebrate the game that best encapsulates all the reasons we started this podcast in the first place. We also welcome in Ben's wife Hannah to celebrate with us, as she played through the game this month as well.
After a loooong talk about the gameplay, puzzles, and funnies, we finally get to the ol' "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (40:45) and play Corrigan's favorite game: Screengrabs! (48:45). After that we re-introduce a segment we forgot about for many years: Recommendation Station (53:45) and eventually get to next month's game too (78:00). Thanks for playing!
Oh also, make sure you check out Victor Burgos Games! Really looking forward to Neko Ghost, Jump!

Thanks for bearing with us as we took the month of June off. It's great to finally be back, and we're looking forward to so many more great games this year! First off, it was so fun to finally go back and play these two games. Reminded us of why we started MOLMF in the first place. Secondly, we spent some extra time this episode talking about what's going on in the country (and world) today, and what we're doing to address some of those issues personally—hopefully you appreciate the transparency.
Thanks for coming along the the ride. We'd love to hear your thoughts on it!
We start off talking about why we took a month off and what we want to do differently going forward, then we eventually get into the development and gameplay of both games (25:30). We have our first ever commercial (53:45), then of course we play a lovely round of "What's The Beer/Drink? What's The Song?" (58:00), and end things talking about what else we've been playing (65:15), and what we'll by playing next month for our 50TH GAME!!!! Get psyched.
Here's the website to the Black Game Developers website we mentioned, as well as Salman Shurie's Twitter, and our past interview with David Fox.

We fell in love with Undertale this month. Hopefully you got a chance to play it with us, just like our guest did (who somehow managed to play it much better than us...jeez), Corrigan's sister, Ed! Thanks for joining us!
After some introductory info and jibber-jabber we finally get into the development of Undertale (17:30) and talk about the specific plot details after that (37:00). Eventually the gang gets into the Drink and Song choices (67:00), and plays a delightful round of... "Corri's Screen Grab Game!"—it needs a better title (78:00). Then they chat about what else they've all been playing and what next month's game(s) will be.
Bonus paragraph: if you in any way enjoyed this episode, feel free to rate and review it in iTunes or wherever else you're listening to it. It's a lot easier than just telling a friend about this magnificent attempt at a pod. Thanks again!

Jason, Corrigan, and Ben all watched the 20-part documentary series "Double Fine Adventure" all about the making of Broken Age (see our last episode for more details on that game). It chronicled everything from the artwork to the development to the budget to the reception, and wow. It was jam-packed full of golden nuggets that we hope to distill down into a golden nugget reduction that's just to die for. Lots of hilarity ensues.
Also we announce the game we'll be playing for our 50th episode later this year. Check it out!

We're keeping it pretty fresh this month and playing a game that's only 5 years old! That's right. We're on it. And due to the terrible state of the entire world today, we're bringing you another Side Quest this month! Huzzah!!! Now to the episode at hand...
Corrigan, Jason, and Ben were all around twiddling their thumbs, so they dive right into the development (more to come on that later...), and got into the nitty gritty gameplay soon after (11:30). After a quick drink and some tunes (43:30), they talk about what else they've been playing and well, they've been busy (56:30). Eventually they talk about what we'll all be playing next month (77:15). Can't wait!

It's been too long since we've side quested, but we felt like this would be a fun series of quests. First up: 1993. And wow, what a roster of games from that year. Sit back and relax as Jason, Ben, & Corrigan take you for a trip down memory lane with some of the standout games from long, long ago...

The trio is back! And we're diving into the newly-finished indie pentology of Kentucky Route Zero. Hope you were able to give this one a shot, because it's one of those rare truly unique and special games. And while each of us differed on our overall love for it, we all were blown away by different aspects of the game and had plenty to talk about in this episode--our longest episode EVER. So yeah...sorry? Or...enjoy? You decide!
We chit chat a bunch off the top, then quickly talk about some of the development (13:00) before getting into the radio drama that Ben so elegantly wrote and Corrigan and Jason so adeptly acted out (15:00). The gameplay talk goes on for far too long (20:30), before they play an unctuous round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (64:00), talk about what else they've been playing, and chat about next month's game too (72:15).

We're welcoming back an old FOLMF this week to help us launch SEASON 5 of Men Of Low Moral Fiber, Tyler Weaver! He's joined us for previous Star Wars games, so this one was right up his alley. Hope you enjoy the show!
After a quick intro, we get into the development (4:00) which bleeds into gameplay eventually (18:30). Then we play some delicious WTDWTS (41:00), talk about what else we've been playing (48:45), and then forget to pick next month's game...until the VERY end. So enjoy that!

We're only a week or two late with this episode, but hopefully it brings you some cheer as you settle back into your normal work/school/life weeks post-holidays. We had a blast recapping 2019 in this episode and handing out awards to the best, worst, and MOLMFiest games of the year, as well as looking ahead and dreaming about what joys 2020 will bring.
And stay tuned for our blooper reel at the end as well. Enjoy!

Hope you're having a great holiday season and great end to a wonderful decade--the decade that brought us all MOLMF! Okay, it hasn't all been beer and skittles along the way, but Ben and Jason are emphasizing their favorite games from 2010-2019. Give it a listen and let us know what's on YOUR list! molmfpod@gmail.com

We're diving deeeeeep into The Stanley Parable this month as we debate whether or not we listen to that ever-present voice in our heads constantly telling us what to do. We hope you get a chance to play this marvelous game because even though the three of us differed on how much we liked this game overall, we each really appreciated different aspects of the game and it did some stuff we haven't really seen anywhere else. Anyway, hope you enjoy the pod!
After some cursory introductory jib jab, we talk about the development of the game (6:00) and our experiences playing through all the different storylines as well (10:30), before debuting a NEW SEGMENT (36:30)!!! Woot. Then play a little WTDWTS (44:15) and what else we've been playing (56:00) before telling you what we'll be playing for the next two months over the holiday break and into the new year.
See you in a few weeks for our holiday special!

Tis the season... Star Wars season!!! There's a new Star Wars game coming out this month, and the last film in the Skywalker Saga coming out next month, so we figured why not play another classic Star Wars game from the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight/Kyle Katarn series? So we did!
We start off talking about the development of the game (3:30) and get into the gameplay pretty soon after (17:00). Then we play a juicy round of WTDWTS (37:45), talk about what else we've been playing (43:45), and then finish things with what we'll be playing next month. Can't wait!

Happy Halloween! It’s officially scary season here at MOLMF headquarters and we’re excited and terrified to play Among The Sleep. Wow…definitely a horrifying-at-times kinda game, but some really high highs for sure. Go get this for Switch and enjoy it like we did!
We pretty quickly get into the development of the game and the company behind it (5:00), then turn to the gameplay shortly after (18:00). Then we play some WTDWTS (39:45), talk about what else we’ve been playing (48:15), and what we’re playing next month (53:15)! [Hint: it’s another classic star wars game!]

This game blew us away! Really a fun surprise and we hope you had a chance to play it as well. Corrigan couldn't be bothered to play with us this month, so it's just Jason and Ben running around the galaxy, blowing s#@* up...but we thoroughly enjoyed it nonetheless. You will be missed dear Corrigan, but we're excited to have you back next month!
Things got a little weird with the timeline and order this month (you'll see why), but basically, after the intros, we get into the making-of at some point (around 5:15), then chat about the gameplay for...awhile after that. After some loopy moments in there, we chat about what beer and song this song might be (48:00), what else we've been playing (52:15), and then we of course pick next month's game--with the help of Corri! (56:45). And since that'll be our October game, it'll be a bit spookier than normal. Look out!

We're talking all things Ringo this week in this fighting/RPG/open-world strange game from earlier this year. Jason walks us through the making of the game and we all dive fist-first into the gameplay as (most of us) were able to beat the whole thing this month.
After the intro, we get into the making of the game and why we (Jason) chose to play it (6:00) and eventually we start talking gameplay (26:00). Then of course we libate it up and play some "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (48:45), talk about what else we've been playing (61:30), and end with talking about what we'll be playing next month (70:15). Enjoy!

It's officially Stranger Things season, and we're keeping things strange on the pod by talking all about the 2015 episodic adventure Life Is Strange. Strap on your adolescent and melodramatic murder mystery hats!
After some high level tomfoolery, we finally get into the development of the game (5:00), and dive deeeeeep into the gameplay eventually (27:00). After a long and lovely discussion on that, we talk about what might be the libation and what might be the tune most related to this game (61:00), and of course chat about what other games we might be playing simultaneously (73:00). Then we end with talking about next month's game. Give it a listen to find out!

We played more of Jason's students' text-based games! They're really amazing.
We had a great conversation with two of his students, Wellington and Ian, and will post links to their games on our website. Hope you enjoy the discussion where we learn a bit more about what it's like to create stories, puzzles, characters and more with these thoroughly creative games.

We're joined again by Corrigan Vaughan this week and are excited to announce she'll be joining us on the podcast from here on out as a permanent host of MOLMF!!! Huzzah!!!
We're talking all about her first suggestion for the podcast: Yoku's Island Express. Hope you were able to pick it up and play it a bit this month, but either way, we hope you enjoy this lovely romp down pinball lane.
After some random chitchat off the top, we make the official Corrigan cohost announcement (4:15), then get into the development (13:30) and gameplay (19:15). We're switching things up a bit and "What's the Beer? What's the Song?" is now officially "What's the Drink? What's The Song?" due to...well due to old age and drinking preferences. Anyway, then we talk about what else we've been playing (51:15), talk about a LOT of games--including what we're playing next month (56:00), and end with a little MOLMF...In The News! segment (65:15).

We're back to our Monkey Island-ing ways in the third of the Monkey Island epic pentalogy, and while it's a bit of a departure from Ron Gilbert's first 2 games, it's more of the same for us as we welcome back Corrigan Vaughan to the podcast to discuss all of her piratey adventures along the way!
We get into the background and making of the game at the top, then welcome Corrigan onto the podcast for a lengthy discussion of the gameplay (15:30). After that, Corri stays on the pod for a classic round of "What's The Beer? What's The Song?" (43:30), and to chat about what else we've been playing and what we're playing next month (52:15)!
Thanks again to Corrigan for joining us on the show this month! Looking forward to having her on again...next month! Stay tuned!

Just like the nostalgic feelings this game brought to us, we welcomed back an old favorite guest, Sean Thompson! Lucky for us, he was able to join us for the WHOLE THING. So enjoy that...
Some intros and dev talk, then into the gameplay (7:30), and give a bit of an overview of the plot at (19:30). After a few follow up questions to the story (32:30), we play a tasty round of "What's The Beer? What's The Song?" (40:30), talk about what else we've been playing (49:30, and even share a new segment: MOLMF In The News! (55:00), and end by talking about next month's game. We're finding our groove in 2019 with another MOLMF genre favorite: a walking simulator! However, this one has a bit more strategy and puzzling than most of the ones we've covered in the past. Hope you had a chance to pick up Kôna this past month, because it's definitely a mind-bending, terrifying, intriguing game. Here we go...
After the intro, we get into the backstory and development of the game (5:30), then chat about all the joys and frustrations of the gameplay itself (10:45). Then of course we play a moist round of WTBWTS (36:30), talk about what else we've been playing (41:15) and finish with next month's game at the very end. Enjoy!

Starting off 2019 with some classic Star Wars gaming! We covered the original KOTOR a few months ago, so make sure you check that one out too. But really, just two great SW titles. We spent over 75 hours combined completing this one, so we hope you enjoy the podcast as much as we enjoyed playing the game!
After intros and backstories, we get into the character-by-character breakdowns and talk more gameplay (17:00), then play some WTBWTS (47:15). Then of course we chat about what else we've been playing and what we're playing next month (56:45). Looking forward to it! Hope you enjoyed this ep too!

We've both been neck deep in western games the past few weeks, including this LucasArts classic: Outlaws--the first ever western FPS. Hope you got a chance to play it, b/c it was definitely a nostalgithon for us. Here we go...
After the intro, we talk making-of and development (3:30), then talk gameplay (12:00), before getting into some unsettling aspects of the game (26:20). Of course we play some "What's The Beer? What's The Song?" (36:00), talk about our little green friend Chuck The Plant (42:00), talk about what else we've been playing (45:15), and finish with what we'll be playing after the holidays (54:00).
Happy holidays and we're excited to start SEASON 4 OF MOLMF in February! See you then.

Halloween's over but we're keeping the creepy supernatural stuff around for one more episode. This month we dove deep into the recent release, Unavowed, and it was thoroughly entertaining. Give it a listen to hear our thoughts on it...
After the intro, we get into the development (4:45) before getting into all things spoilers (16:00), and chat about all the possible endings eventually as well (30:30). Of course we compare this game to a beer and a song (34:30), talk about what else we've been playing for a loooong time (40:15), and talk about next month's game (50:00)...HINT: It's a THROWBACK! (Finally!)

It's that time of year again: Ye Olde MOLMF Holidayspookstravaganza!!! This year we've selected a contemporary terrifying masterpiece: Doki Doki Literature Club. It's only a year old, but it definitely has some staying power to creep people out for many years to come. Hope you...enjoyed(?) it...? Anyway, give it a listen and let us know what you thought of the game!
Beyond our eerie intro, we get into the hair-raising development (3:30), which bleeds into the frightening gameplay (17:00). Eventually, we meander into an eldritch distraction of "What Ale Does This Taste Like? What Chantey Do I Hear Whilst Playing?" (29:30), then finish the sinister episode with a ghostly discussion of what other dastardly distractions we've been preoccupied with recently (38:15), and of course what diversion will be the cynosure of next month's happening (49:00).
Happy Halloween you filthy FOLMFimals!

We're keeping with our Star Wars theme this month and diving into one of the most highly-acclaimed RPGs of all time: Star Wars - Knights Of The Old Republic. It was a LONG GAME. No joking around, it's Baldur's Gate, but it's close, as each of us put in at least 30 hours into this thing.
After a intro and development segment, we're joined again by Richard Nile to discuss all of the gameplay goodness of KOTOR. He also joins for a rousing round of "What's The Beer? What's The Song?" and we talk about what else we've been playing and what we're playing for next month! (Hint: It's a Halloween-themed game!) Enjoy!

It's been awhile since we quested on the side, but we've been planning this one for awhile. We're excited to have Saffyre Falkenberg on to discuss the ethics of video games. We cover everything from the decision trees of Telltale games and light/dark side of KOTOR, to the Dragon Age approval system and if you can beat Super Mario Bros. without killing anyone/anything (SPOILER: you totally can!).
Join us as we dive into this virtuous ep. We'd love to hear your thoughts on this broad topic as well. Send us your additional comments to be a part of the conversation (MOLMFpod@gmail.com).

Hope they didn't make it into the final edit. Had a blast playing this game, so get on it and play for 3-4 hours before listening. Super fun...and a bit creepy. Enjoy!
Start off introducing the game, then get into the gameplay around 21:00, then play a rousing round of "What's The Beer? What's The Song?" at 40:00. After that we talk about what else we're playing, which just so happens to be next month's game too (44:30)! Look at that. Go us. Experienced a few time loops. That's right: MORE STAR WARS! This month we're diving deep into all things Battlefront 2 (2017 edition). Get psyched!
We start off talking about the development and background around the 3:00 mark, then cover the loot crate controversy at 14:15. Then we welcome in our FOLM, Tyler Weaver at 20:15 and play a sensual round of "What's The Beer? What's The Song?" around 52:00. If Disney gets to premiere a new Star Wars movie, then gosh darn it, we're doing it too! This month's throwback is the classic Star Wars sequel: Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2. (Note: Please stick around for the moment we realize how wrong we were about a rather large plot point...go us!)
After some intros, we get into the history of the game and surrounding lore around the 2:30 mark, then we hit the gameplay at 22:30 and get deep into all 21 levels (most of them at least). Honestly, we end up diving deep into some Wookieepedia on Rahn and Kyle, and the whole Dark Forces gang...but I think it's more of a sign of how confusing the plot of this game was, rather than how oblivious we are...or could easily be both.
ANYWAY, no episode would be complete without an insightful round of "What's The Beer? What's The Song?" at the 53:30 mark, and then we chat about what other games have been taking up our free time (in between MOLMF games of course) around 60:00, and end things talking about next month's game at 66:00. (HINT: We're not straying too far...far away.)

Back to the classic MOLMF order this week. We start off with the background of the game and development, then get into the gameplay around the 20:15 mark. Then we play some delicious "What's The Beer? What's The Song?" at 34:00, followed by next month's game and what else we're playing around the 38:30 point.
We're really excited for next month's game, so make sure you listen to the ep to find out what's next!

Welcome to a very deep, dark episode of Men Of Low Moral Fiber! We're keeping things REAL this episode and don't shy away from some of the darkest themes we've ever covered in MOLMF.
We really enjoyed What Remains of Edith Finch, but at the same time, the game deals with a LOT of death and heartbreak, so we went with that and kind of dove into that a bit midway through. Anyway, follow the timeline below if you want to skip those deathly sections.
We changed things up a big this month and started with spoilers...around the 6:30 mark. Then we start going through the story of the game, family member by family member shortly after that. Around 24:30, things get REALLY dark for about 10 minutes or so (Baby Gregory and the idea of Death within video games...Then around 34:00 we talk about one of the coolest game mechanics we've ever seen (Lewis), and share a few more personal (death/dark) stories around the 41:15 point. At 48:00 we get into some research and reax, at 53:15 we play a rousing round of "What's The Beer? What's The Song?", and end things talking about next month's game at 58:15.

We're moving onto a new operating system in this episode as we eye a whole new era of nostalgia. This time we're talking all about the N64 Star Wars classic 1996 Shadows of the Empire! The boys played this game like crazy back in the 90s and find it a treat to revisit. Hopefully you got a chance to do the same!
After the intros they get into the history of game (4:00), then the gameplay (21:30). Then of course they play a delicious round of "What's The Beer? What's The Song?" (32:30), and introduce a new segment: "What Else We Playing?" (39:30). They end things talking about next month's game and other outro stuff (43:30).

We're back after a month off to bring you all one of the highest-acclaimed LucasArts games ever: Grim Fandango. Somehow this slipped through our fingers in our youth, so we were happy to give it a shot and it did not disappoint! Friend of the podcast, Nick Bontrager joins the boys as Grim is one of his all-time favorites. Thanks again for joining us, man!
After some intro talk, we get into the making-of Grim Fandango at 9:30 in, then dive deeper into the gameplay at 31:30. Of course, we throw in a few rounds of "What's The Beer? What's The Song?" at 45:30, and pick next month's game at the 1-hour mark. Oh man. It's a doozy! And it's a console game too! Get psyched, man!

We finally did it! Another classic SCUMM game. Oh man, this is why we do this podcast. Hopefully you enjoyed playing Zak as well, but even if you didn't, you'll probably still get a kick out of this blast from the past.
We do some quick intro information, we get into the history and making-of around the 5:45 mark, and really get into the gameplay around 19:15. We play some "What's The Beer? What's The Song?" around 32:00 and finish things up talking about next month's game at 39:30. Enjoy!

It's LOOOOOM!!!! Yeah, it's a SCUMM game, but it's even weirder than any of the other ones. Don't like verbs? How about playing tunes with a distaff instead?? That's right, it's super weird. That being said, we had a blast diving into another LucasArts classic. Hopefully you did to. Enjoy!
After some quick intros, we start up on the history and development at the 5:40 mark, then at 21:45 we start getting deeper into the gameplay. Then Ben has a few questions for Jason around the 32 minute mark, they play a delightful round of "What's The Beer? What's The Song?" at 38:15 and tell you what they're playing next month at 43:15.
Don't forget! We're still taking audio memos answering the questions "Why do you play video games?" Email us at molmfpod@gmail.com and we'll play (at least some of) your audio on the show! Thanks so much for listening!

This month we're bringing you another new game!!! I know...it's weird. But we're not apologizing for it, b/c we really enjoyed this little ditty. Strap on your space suit and hold your holographic cat close, we're going to space!
After some quick intros, we get into the development and history of the game at about 2 min in which quickly bleeds into the gameplay for the next 30 min or so (we touch on the AR system specifically around the 30 min mark). We just had to play a round of "What's The Beer? What's The Song" at 33:15 and of course we finishing things by telling you what we're playing next month at 39:30.

Have you ever played a game you weren't sure was a game? Where there weren't any rules and no story to follow? In fact, it almost seemed more true and real than anything in your life had ever been up to that point?
Yeah. That's this game.
Or at least it comes close to that a few times. Anyway, we really enjoyed Everything, and we highly suggest you give it a play before you jump into this episode. That being said...there aren't really any spoilers sooo....have at it!
In this month's episode we're take a weird turn at the beginning and start off with the gameplay. I coaxed my wife into playing the game at the 27:30 mark, and at about 30:00 we FINALLY start talking about the making-of the game. We get into the concept of video games as art at 35:30 and even tie in some zen philosophy 38:40. Then at 42:30 we discuss what this really was...a video game? A friend? Our alternate realities?!?! Then Chuck visits at 44:15, we play some WTBWTS at 47:15, and we end things up talking about next month's game, some FOLMF news, as well as a BIG PODCAST ANNOUNCEMENT at the 52:45 mark. Enjoy!

Another game from this decade! Weird, right? I promise we'll get back to vintage games at some point, but for now we're playing the instant classic, Gone Home. Think Firewatch stuck in a mansion. Pretty fun, right? Well it was! We had a great time playing it, and hope you did too.
This episode is pretty spoiler-heavy, and the game is pretty short, so go ahead and play it before you listen too far into the episode. Hope you enjoy it, and enjoy the pod too!
After a quick introduction, we start talking about the history around 3:40, then we get into the gameplay (and there's a lot of overlap there) around the 19-minute mark. We play a fun little quiz show around 31:00, and of course we play WTBWTS at 35:30. After that we talk about next month's game, and everything that entails (see what I did there?), around 40:30.

Got a short one for you today. Look out for the Gone Home ep dropping Friday though. What a game.
Thanks again to all of our current Patreon supporters! We just wanted to spread the love to see if anyone else wanted to jump in and get some of those sweet perks and rewards that they've been receiving.
For instance, for $5 a month, you'd get every monthly episode a week early! How neat is that?? Pretty neat, if you ask us.
Honestly though, it's a huge joy for us to be able to do this podcast, and we hope it continues to grow and spread as it has been over the past 18 months. As it grows, we'll be able to interview more game creators and advertise more and more too. And all of the Patreon support goes directly to that.
So yeah, if you enjoy our show, please go check out our page. A single dollar a month is a big help. Thanks!

We're visiting another classic this month, but this time it's a game that we never played in the 90's. Somehow Full Throttle slipped through our grasp in 1995, but we're joined by a guest who fell in love with the game as a young boy. It's yet another Tim Schafer jam and we had a blast playing it. Definitely a classic game that we were sorry to have missed out on, but all that bunny destruction just wasn't appropriate for our young eyes. It's plenty appropriate now though. Enjoy!
Make sure you listen to the end to hear what we're playing next month.

We had a blast playing Sam & Max Hit The Road with Sean a while ago, but we didn't quite get our S&M fix, so we decided to get into our oversized fish statues and dive deep into the gator-infested world of Sam & Max.

We're on a Ron Gilbert kick as of late, and this month is no exception as we're playing the 2013's The Cave. Kind of a new spin on the original Maniac Mansion style game, with a much deeper philosophical spin, and about 1000 more puzzles. So yeah, that's what we did with our month. Hopefully you got to enjoy some of this game too. Let's get into it...
We start off with a quick intro, then get into the history around 3:20. It pretty quickly spills into gameplay a few minutes later, and then we talk about our old friend, Chuck The Plant, at the 23 min mark. Then we host a loquacious round of "What's the Beer? What's the Song" at 26:30, then a quick word from Stefan at 32:30 (so good!). And we finish by talking a little about next month's game, which we're stoked about!

We start off talking to David about how he first got to Lucasfilm Games, then at 7:15 we get into what it was like working at the company, as well as the inner workings and development of the SCUMM engine. Then at 10:30 we talk about the first few games that David was the designer, project leader, and a programmer on (Rescue on Fractalus!, Labyrinth, Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders). At 21:45 we ask David about what it was like going from a programmer to the Director of Operations for LucasArts.
We jump ahead and get into Thimbleweed Park at the 30:30 mark (BEWARE: SPOILERS AFTER THIS POINT), and then get into some of David's overall career work and themes throughout at 48:30. At the end, around 54:30, David enlightens us with his own personal rendition of "What's the Beer? What's the Song?" for Thimbleweed Park, and of course offers a few recommendations for us as well.

No ‘90s game for us this month! Nope. This month we play the brand spanking new Thimbleweed Park! It only came out a month ago, so we’re getting on this train pretty early. From the creative minds of Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick (Maniac Mansion & Monkey Island), this kickstarted game was a blast from the past. A delight to play a new game that plays like a revamped click-and-pointer from the early days of LucasArts. Hope you had a chance to play the game. Here we go…
After a quick intro to the game, we dig into some of the recent history of Thimbleweed Park at 3:00, then we deeply dive into the gameplay at 11:00. After that we play a friendly match of “What’s The Beer? What’s The Song?” at 36:00, and we visit our old friend, Chuck The Plant at 43:30 and pick next month’s game at 47:00. Then we end things with some steamy LucasArts fanfic from our marketing supervisor (thanks Patreon patrons!) at 51:30, as well as a brand new segment we’ve lovingly entitled Recommendation Station at 54:45. We hope you enjoy it!

And while they haven't made that elusive "Remastered Edition" yet (maybe someday...?), we were still excited to get back into one of our childhood's biggest time wasters. Man oh man, this game is hilarious, crude, and just an overall blast to play. Hope you got to enjoy some of the gameplay this past month as well.
We start off with our usual hilarious intro, then dive into some of the background of Sam and Max around 3:20. Then we welcome in our long time Friend Of Low Moral Fiber, Sean Thompson in at about 20:00 and he joins us for a delightful round of "What's the Beer? What's the Song?" somewhere around 54:00 and we end things with talking about next month's game at 1:06:00.
Thanks for downloading and listening, we always love to get your feedback, so feel free to leave us a review and rating in the podcast listening software of your choice.

Adventure. Heh! Excitement. Heh! A Jedi craves not these things. Good thing we're not Jedi (and yes, it's plural), because we this month we're all about adventure and excitement in Star Wars Battlefront. This game is GORGEOUS. And while yes, it lacked in a few areas, the sheer size of the levels and details of graphics is just insane. Hopefully you get a chance to play the game and listen to our thoughts on it.
We start out with a not-so-quick intro covering the good and the bad of Battlefront, then get into the development of the game at 6:27, which spills into the gameplay a LOT...somewhere around 20:00. We cover a few specific questions we had for each other about the gameplay at 31:30 too. That was fun. Then we talk about some other podcasts for a bit around 41:00 (#trypod), and then FINALLY play our ridiculous round of "What's the Beer? What's the Song?" at 46:00. And then we finish it off right talking about next month's game and a few news and notes at 52:50.
Fear? Anger? Aggression? Those are natural responses to this game at times. We're sorry...that being said, it is a pretty game. So, so pretty.
Hope you enjoyed this episode! We'll be going back to our roots next month with the classic LucasArts classic, Sam & Max: Hit the Road. Man, oh, man, are we stoked to be playing this game. Looking forward to it! Join us this month as we play it and we'll see you again next month when we figure out what it takes to be a freelance police officer.

Thanks for listening to our special #trypod episode! Jason and Ben spend a few short minutes telling you about some of their favorite podcasts they don't currently host. It's a fun, relaxing moment to find out about a few new shows you might currently not be listening to, so give it a quick listen and see if you find something you like.
The goal of the #trypod movement is to spread the word about podcasts. If you have a friend who doesn't listen to podcasts, try to recommend one to them. For yourself, try listening to a new podcast you've never heard of. The point is: spread the word.
We here at MOLMF think this is a wonderful medium that's pretty special and hard to replicate in other genres of media, which is why we're jumping on this #trypod train. Hopefully you can find a few new podcasts, spread the word to other people as well, and overall grow this small community of broadcasters. Thanks so much for joining in!
And we're not done. Please let us know YOUR favorite podcasts too. We'd love to find some new ones as well. Let us know here:

Thanks for downloading our first ever "State of the Film" special episode! Today we're talking all about Star Wars. That's right, we cover all 9 Star Wars films, including both "Rogue One" and the recently announced "The Last Jedi" (that comes out in 9 months). We're getting technical with you (sorry Threepio) and discussing the films primarily from a filmmaking perspective.
We brought in a few filmmakers to help us out, so I hope you enjoy the dulcet tones of Dominic Laing and Jorge Castellanos who both share with us the genius, and the not-so-genius moments of the franchise's 40-year history. We really enjoyed chatting with them, and they both had some very interesting insights we'd never even thought about before.
This is the first of two parts, so look out for the second part coming soon, which will tackle Star Wars from the fan perspective, where we really take a look at the state of the franchise to see how it's holding up, and if the new movies are doing justice to the originals. Stay tuned!

That's right, in the sequel to MOLMF's first season, we're bringing you one of our favorite sequels of all time! Had a blast playing this one, and hopefully you did too.
We start off with some changes to the theme song (ooooohhhhh), then after a quick intro we get into the history/making of stuff at the 4min mark, then at 22min in we get into all of the gameplay specifics and puzzles. Of course, after that we play a delightful found of "What's the Beer? What's the Song?" at about the 39min mark, and end with talking about next month's game at around 45:45. Enjoy!
If you can't wait for the podcast, we'll tell you what we're playing here: Star Wars: Battlefront. We're STOKED, because we're huge nerds. Anytime you combine video games with Star Wars, we're in. So get on it and start practicing your blaster moves and we'll dive into that next month.

A big part of classic video game history that is often looked over is the text-based game. During Jason's last semester teaching, he assigned all of his students to write and develop a text-based game, all on their own. Out of that assignment, there were dozens of very interesting, original games, but after the students all played each other's games, they voted two games "Thirsty Thursday" and "Love Me Tinder" as the two best games in the whole class.
Luckily for us, we were able to track down the two creators of those games (Hayley Zablotsky and Kaelson Little), and interview them on the podcast on this special B2C episode of MOLMF. We wanted to know how they thought of the ideas behind their games, what type of messages they wanted to convey through their stories, and even how they developed and coded their games.
Both of these games are available to play on our website, so check those out if you have a few minutes. We really enjoyed the games and had a great time learning even more about the creative processes behind them. Hopefully you'll enjoy this behind-the-scenes interview with these two game designers as well.

We're taking a month off from gaming as we spend time with our families this holiday season, and we hope you get to do the same as you relax by the fire eating gobs of pie and candies laced with peppermint-flavored additives.
And as you relax a bit, hopefully this snowy episode will warm your heart as Jason and Ben reflect on the great guests, the nostalgic games, and put together a little mashup of some of the most absurd and wacky moments from the year.
We'll be playing Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge in January, so jump on it and we'll tell you all about it the first Friday in February, 2017. See you then!

If you watched Westworld, then you're probably deep into your withdrawal symptoms by now. If you can see and hear clearly enough, listening to this should help! We couldn't get enough of the show, so we decided to do a little Side Quest on it.
We talk everything from Ed Harris' creepy smile to why a mother would want to bring her kid into Westworld in the first place (hint: we have no idea). We're also joined by our old friend, Jorge Castellanos, who shares a few insights into his interpretation on the climactic finale, as well as what he thinks all of those weird robots were doing thinking they were humans. And make sure you stick around for the exciting Lightening Round where we finally figure out why that wolf ran across the screen at one point (hint: we have no idea).
And remember: "These violent delights have violent ends."
Enjoy!

We take another detour from the past in this month's game and jump forward to the year 2016...even though in the game we jump back to the classic SCUMM year 1989...but yeah, we played this year's indie sensation, Firewatch. Hopefully you got a chance to play it, but if not, it's only about a 4 hour game in total, and it's riveting and interesting and just a great experience throughout. Check it out. And after you've checked it out, go listen to our podcast all about it.
After a quick intro, we get into the making-of and history at about 3:30, then at 26:45, we FINALY dive into the gamplay (although to be honest, there's a lot of crossover with those two sections). At 42 min in, we play a classic round of "What's the Beer? What's the Song?" and tell you what we're up to next month at 48:30.
Enjoy and thank again for listening!

Welcome to the second part of a 2-part crossover uber-episode! We teamed up with the Electric Fancave team and did two joint podcasts, or "crossover" podcasts this week. We were lucky enough to be on this week's episode of Electric Fancave (link at bottom), and they honored us with their presence by being on our podcast. The topic for both episodes: crossover episodes. (I know, so meta, right?)
And while this is technically the second part (check out our website for link to first part), you can listen to them out of order...hopefully. So sit down and check out our fun chat with Corrigan Vaughan & Kristin Latourelle of EF, as we dive back into the joy that is Day Of The Tentacle.
If you liked this Side Quest, please let us know! We'd love to do more, but we also want to make sure we're covering topics people would enjoy. So please tell us if there's anything that comes to mind.
You can also rate and review our podcast in the iTunes store, which would help out more people who might be interested in our podcast.
Thanks again. Enjoy!

One of the highest selling games in LucasArts history, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, is a definitely blast from the past as we return to our roots with both Indiana Jones and another classic point-and-click adventure game.
After a quick intro, we get into the history of the game around 3:10, then around 16:30 we welcome in cousin and gamer-extraordinaire Richard Nile to talk about the gameplay. After that we get a visit our old friend, Chuck The Plant at 46:00, and of course we play a lovely game of "What's the Beer? What's the Song?" at 51:00 before ending things with our closing statements and next month's game at 58:40.
And if you can't wait, we'll tell you here. Our next game is Campo Santo's Firewatch, which actually came out earlier this year. Changing things up a bit, but really looking forward to this game. If you haven't heard of or played it, it's only about a 3-4 hour romp in the woods full of mystery and nature. Check it out.

That's right! We're taking one last trip into the Star Wars universe in 2016 with the space simulation goodness of 1993's X-Wing. It was definitely a challenge, with some pretty epic moments along the way, and Ben and Jason and still alive to tell the tale. So strap in and sit down with your favorite beer and song and join us for this week's MOLMFcast...
We start off with our weekly jibber jabber, then get into the history and making-of around 5:00. After that we chat ALL about the (endless) gameplay at 11:30 and we play a new game called "Game Changer" (working title) at about the at 25:30 mark. Then Jason issues a chilling challenge at 33:45, followed by a delightful round of "What's The Beer? What's The Song?" at around 36:00. We finish things up at 42:30 chatting about Mr. Robot, Dungeons and Dragons, and of course, next month's game. Hope you enjoy the ep!
Dun dun duuuunnn..... Okay, next month we're diving right back into our niche of point-and-click adventure games with Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. Oh man. Can't wait!

On this month's episode, we're talking all about Telltale Games' Game of Thrones series. We played through the game and while we loved it, be forewarned that it's a bit NSFW.
Alrighty, after a quick intro, at around the 3:30 minute mark we get into the history of Telltale Games and some of the games they've made. Then at around 11:30 we chat about some of the previous games in the Game of Thrones lineage, then we FINALLY get into the making of this specific GoT game at 15:00. We move from history to gameplay at 19:00 and then play some WTBWTS at 42:50 and of course we chat about next month's game at 47:20...
And that game is... Star Wars: X-Wing!!! We'll be playing it over the next few weeks, so look forward to that episode, coming the first Friday of October.

On today's podcast, we're talking about the classic 1995 Steven Spielberg epic: The Dig. This game was awesome, but like a lot of video games, it had a few Low points that really pushed us to the Brink (get it...? Oh, you will...). Anyway, we hope you got a chance to play it, but even if you didn't, we hope you enjoy this episode!
Per usual, we start off talking about the history and making of the game, then at the 20:15 mark we bring in one of our biggest FOLMFs (Friend Of Low Moral Fiber), as Brent Peterson joins us to talk all about the gameplay. He also joins us at 38:15 for a delightful round of "What's the Beer? What's the Song?" and finally we kick Brent out and chat about what we're playing next at the 50 min mark.
Psst. We're playing Telltale Games' Game of Thrones - Season 1 next month. So get on your bikes and ride to your local video game rental outlet and have them install the game cartridge into your closest smartphone/playstation/xbox/computadora/gameboy, and start-a-playin!

On today's show, Jason and Ben sit down and chat all about the latest Netflix sensation: Stranger Things. The Duffer Brothers' creation has caught our attention and the connections to retro gaming are plentiful. We chat about everything from the scientific evidence of the 5th dimension, to what really happened to Barb. It gets a little misty in this episode.
So if you've watched the show and were looking for another 45 minutes of dwelling in the Stranger Things universe, then we think you'll enjoy this deepest of dives...

More Star Wars!!! I know. You’re stoked. Settle down. Today we’re talking about the 1995 LucasArts classic: Dark Forces. This game, more than any other, is just like walking through the Star Wars universe. We had a good time.
Okay, here’s the rundown: After a quick intro, we get into the history of the game around 2:45 then we finally get around to talking gameplay at about 18:00. Finally at 33:45 we play a deliciously alluring game of “What’s the Beer? What’s the song?” and we finish things out at 40:15 when we talk about next month’s game. Should be a great one!
We’re excited to play the many sequels to Dark Forces in the future, but for now, we’re leaving the Star Wars universe for a bit. Hope you enjoy the podcast!

During our Secret of Monkey Island episode with Corrigan Vaughan, we ended up having a great conversation about some of the commentary and impact that video games have (specifically Monkey Island, but we expound outside of LA games as well), and the widespread stereotyping of characters and people groups within them.
We do touch briefly on the fact that LucasArts often turns those stereotypes on their heads, being a satirical, highly-intelligent staff of creatives, but that doesn't mean they're perfect. Give it a quick listen and let us know your thoughts. If nothing else, hopefully it sparks a conversation, or at least makes you think about characters and their depictions in gaming.
Thanks for stopping by!

Our most anticipated game finally hits the wifi waves today: The Secret of Monkey Island. Debuting in 1990, this game still holds up as one of the greatest ever. We had a blast covering it this month and hopefully you got a chance to play it too. Here's the rundown...
After a quick intro, we talk about how TSOMI got made at about 6:45, then at 16:20 we set up the game and at the 18:00 minute mark we're joined by the incoRrigible Corrigan Vaughan to chat about how it went actually playing the game. After talking puzzles, hilarities, and frustrating soup recipes, we play a lovely game of "What's the Beer? What's the Song?" at 43:00, then Jason and I bid farewell to CoRri and end things by talking about next month's game at 52:00.
And if you can't wait, we'll spoil it here: next month's episode is Star Wars: Dark Forces, which will post on Friday, July 1st. So get on it and start playing. Another great awaits you!

Hey gamers! Thanks for listening. Today we're talking all about two of our long time LucasArts favorites, Star Wars: Rebel Assault I & II. Although after replaying them, we're not exactly sure why they've been our favorites for 20+ years... on to the show!
We start out with some of the history of the games, how they got made, that kind of thing. Then at the 8:30 mark we talk a little bit about the setup and characters of both games. After that, at 14:15, we're joined by the by the ebullient Nick Gates to talk gameplay, and then he joins us for another classic rendition of "What's The Beer? What's The Song?" at 44:45. (Spoiler alert: Jason's beer is terrible.) Finally, we say farewell to Nicholas and finish things up talking about next month's game at 53:00.
What is next month's game? It's one of the most classic LucasArts games of all time: The Secret of Monkey Island. Just a great game, and holds up better than any game we've played so far. Hopefully you'll agree.

Hey there! On this episode of MOLMF, Jason and Ben talk all about the classic 1993 LucasArts game: Zombies Ate My Neighbors. We dive into the history and making of ZAMN at 6:15, and then invite a long-time friend of ours, Michael Conrad II, on to chat gameplay at 16:40. We play a rousing game of “What’s He Saying?” with Mike at 32:40, and after we say farewell to Mike, we play a little “What’s the Beer? What’s the Song?” at about 38:15. Finally, we pick next month’s game at 46:00.

Today Jason and Ben talk about the beloved 1993 LucasArts classic video game, Day Of The Tentacle. It’s the sequel to Maniac Mansion—kind of like this is the sequel to our Maniac Mansion episode.
Today we chat about the game and why it holds a special place in our hearts, then around 2:40 we start digging into the history of the game. After that, we get into the actual gameplay of DOTT at 19:40, and of course we play some “What’s The Beer? What’s The Song?” right around 34:00, and then at about 43:20 we pick our next game.
Alrighty then! Our next episode comes out Friday, April 1st, when we’ll be talking all about the undead classic, Zombies Ate My Neighbors. So hopefully you’ll be able to play that a bit this month before we spoil it for you. (SPOILER: You can’t spoil ZAMN.)

Hello and welcome to our first episode! Thanks for downloading this little gem. In today's episode we talk about the first LucasArts game built with their innovative SCUMM engine. Pretty revolutionary stuff. We start off with some history, then around 21:40 we get into the set up and gameplay of Maniac Mansion. Then set up our next game around 40:30, followed by a rousing discussion of which games we're most excited/anxious about playing at around 41:45. Then the real fun begins at 45:20 when we chat about our good friend, Chuck The Plant, and at 48:20 we cover What's the Beer? What's the Song? (We apologize about the poor audio, but if you can get through it, I promise our next episode sounds much better.)
Our next episode comes out Friday, March 4th and we'll be covering Maniac Mansion 2: Day Of The Tentacle! So do your homework and start playing. Looking forward to it.
