Celebrating Solstice - A Midsommer Night Dream

In 2018, I spent one of the most transformative years of my life in a very small town in Sweden, Ahus.

A small cabin hidden in a lush pine tree forest close to the beach combined with proper education proved the ultimate vision-quest into what it meant to be me. I embraced boredom and a lifestyle that suits people typically 3 times my age, and I loved it.

The masters programme provided intellectual stimulation and the gorgeous landscapes provided the opportunity to express myself physically in Triathlon.

One of the best things was the combination of music in both these settings. Whether it was a hike or a bikeride, my musical setup was always on point (often in contrast with my gear).

In this special edition I invite you on to journey into my soul. During solstice we have the perfect time to deeply appreciate the forces that are at work around us to give us the magical experience of being human.

With this compilation of eclectic jazz, classical, electronica and ambient I hope to elevate the experience of being still when the sun tilts for a moment.

For most of us listeners, this is a time to dream about journeys to the southern hemisphere. Currently, I’m looking outside and I’m seeing dreamy snow and sun-covered forest that has absolutely zero to do with this month's destination.

I’m taking you to Mount Bromo & Mount Ijen on Java in Indonesia. This was one of the coolest adventures I’ve been on and this took place in the earliest of mornings.

This area attracts the more adventurous travelers in that region. Coming from the overcrowded Borobodur to this desolate land is quite the change of scenery.

THE ARGENTINEAN SUMMER IS MAGIC

We kicked off the series with a visit to the most southern tip of Argentina. Exactly one year later we will stay in the capital. Buenos Aires.

Back in 2015, I circled around Buenos Aires during my trip around South America. In the show, I will take you through the adventures of this wonderful city.

Musicwise, Buenos Aires is a hotbed for adventurous and energetic progressive house. It’s the Mecca for artists such as Guy J and Mariano Mellino. Inspired by this sound I’ve 2 hours of exciting progressive for you. Including a super-dope unreleased remix by Kasper Koman.

It has been one year of Electronic Music, Travel and Adventure.

Most of it has been about memories and experiences from the past. This show serves to highlight some of those moments that are hard to capture. My love for the never-ending techno beat is so strong that it is very easy to spend time compiling these awesome tracks and blend them into a hypnotic serving that often leaves myself dazzling for days.

What has proven to be more difficult, is sharing my experiences on the locations. Personally, I am uneasy with leveraging modern media and sharing these great, but intimate stories. The good thing is, the dedicated audience that tunes in each month isn’t as numerous as Armin’s A State of Trance.

During this episode I celebrate one of the most unique spots in Europe. The lake of Luzern. A brilliant lake connecting four ancient forests in the Swiss Alps. Visiting in September the water is nice and warm and perfect for a long swim. Hence, due to the colder air a lot of fog covered the beautiful views from time to time. Visiting the lake with one of the boats from Luzern is an amazing experience. Let me take you on this trip.
