The Powder Blue Podcast is hosted by Frank Klose and Geoff Mosher,. We will discuss the Philadelphia Phillies throughout their season and break down hot topics around the MLB.
The Standing O. What a Standing O indeed. Is this Heaven? No, this is Philadelphia. The city of brotherly love. The city where if you own up to something, we got your back through anything. Truly amazing stuff for Trea Turner from the best fans in the world. Yeah, we have issues sometimes, but doesn't everyone? But either way, no other city would die for their players the way Philly does. Phillies fans have showed time and time again why they are the best and it goes back so far, but more recently to last year with Alec Bohm and Nick Castellanos. Yeah, we were hard on them, but it only made them better. They embraced the city and the city embraced them. Droning here, but it had to be said. Anyway, this one starts off with talking about last week's trades and our thoughts on the new guys. Turns out, the Phillies made some decent moves. Especially seeing what Michael Lorenzen brings to the rotation, which should be moving to a 6-man rotation. At least until playoffs. And a great Philly-type guy who had his cell phone fall out of his pocket sliding into third. Nothing more Philly than than right? We talk a bit about the last couple series and the next few that are more than winnable at home and away. Then we finish with some Dad Jokes as always. Enjoy...and PLAY BALL! In the Trade Deadline Edition of the Powder Blue Podcast, Frank Klose and Geoff Mosher break down the Phillies' trade deadline, including:
The Phillies add All-Star starter Michael Lorenzen
The only bat added is utility player Rodolfo Castro
Would the Phillies take Jean Segura back for the bench?

The Phillies are up and then the Phillies are down. Heading into the 2023 MLB Trade Deadline, Frank Klose & Geoff Mosher discuss:
What holes do the Phillies have that they could address?
Who are some potential trade targets?
What do we make of struggling veterans such as Trea Turner, Kyle Schwarber, and J.T. Realmuto?
All this and more. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
In the latest installment of Is It 7:05 Yet? Podcast, we start by talking about the age-old Phillies and how they suck us back in, then out again, then come out firing after the AllStar Break, then blow the series against the Brewers. This team is so hot, they're cold. We blame the 12:35 game today after a game that ended 14 hours prior. WTF. But seriously, this team is still on the right track. We will call the Beer Makers series a minor hiccup. There's lots of baseball left and the boys have a very preferable schedule coming up. We also have a little Andrew Painter talk with him being shutdown for the year and being recommended for Tommy John surgery. Which is a total bummer, but he's young and he will get his chance. Then we talk some trade rumors with some Juan Soto and Shohei Ohtani buzz going around. What will or would it take to get one of these guys and would you do it? Take a listen. Also, sorry Sarah...no Kingery talk today. Maybe next time. And of course we finish with some Dad Jokes. Enjoy...and PLAY BALL! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
There is a lot to unpack in this one even with being off for the All-Star break. The Phillies ended the first half by sweeping the Rays and then following that up with a series loss to the Fish in the 'Pit of Despair'. The Phillies stars shined from the WS coaching staff, to Castellanos and Kimbrel in the ASG, and also to Abel and Crawford in the Futures Game earlier in the weekend. Great weekend and break for the Fightins and couldn't be more stoked coming out of it. Oh, and the draft was also this past weekend too, so we cover that a bit and talk mostly about the first two picks for the Phillies. There are also some injuries and roster moves we touch on along with some trade talk. Then, we wrap up with a couple singers of some Dad Jokes as always. Enjoy...and PLAY BALL! Geoff Mosher is joined by Greg Hall to wrap up Phillies sweep of the Tampa Bay Rays, their 12th straight road win, and a 7-2 record in the past 9 games headed into a final series before the All-Star Break against NL East rival Miami. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Welp...we're back again with another exhilarating episode once again. Halfway into the season and the Phillies are back. They are currently in the 3rd WC spot and as I am typing this description, up 8-4 on the Rays who are also the best, or were the best, team in baseball. Now it's the Phillies. We kid, we kid. But seriously, dem boizzz are hot right now. We kinda let this one get away from us with work trouble, mailboxes falling off their posts, baseball cards, Scotty-Jet-Packs. The list goes on. But most importantly, the Phillies, Nick Castellanos and how crazy it was that he wasn't voted in in the first place. He's 2nd place in almost all hitting categories for outfielders y'all. WTF are we doing here. Bush League. I'm sure there's something I missed, but take a listen and find out. With that we say, let's go Phils, enjoy...and PLAY BALL! Learn more about your ad choices. Are they back? We are! Been a bit since we last talked, but the Phillies have gone 16-16 in that span (since they got swept by the Dodgers in LA). So, it's like we were never gone. Basically, nothing has changed with this team other than a few games sprinkled here and there that made us feel like we were in October 2022 all over again. No? Just us? Anyway, we start tonight catching up a little on our own lives which turns into a fun little story about Brandon's bad day. Then, we just shoot the shit a little more, but about the Phillies. We talk about Kimbrel's milestone, Tai, Trea, Alvarado, Kody, Pache, Nola, a few prospects tearing it up and getting back on track, and what about the 5th started spot. And oh, SURPRISE! The Mets are Metting right now. Dad Jokes, Pod Poll. The usual thing. Enjoy...and PLAY BALL! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
