While atypical thinking is in fact highly valued in many contexts, such as science and art, on the whole, the more typical someone’s thinking style is, the more they’ll find the current world set up to accommodate them. Those whose brains work strikingly differently from the norm run into all sorts of invisible barriers, from inaccessible sensory environments to assumptions of incompetence to social exclusion.
And that’s how we started Out Of The Blue: To spark conversations about neurodiversity and bring out genuine experiences of people who are in the know.
