Two years of consistent episodes. Real effort. Naptime recordings and late nights after bedtime. And still, it feels like shouting into the void.
That was a real conversation on a coaching call last week, and it took about five minutes of looking at her last five episodes to spot the problem. It wasn't her audio. It wasn't her voice. It wasn't even her content.
So in this episode, I'm walking you through exactly what I would fix, in order, if I took over your podcast tomorrow.
Here's what we get into:
Because here's the truth: your podcast is either a content output or a business engine. Random good content will not get you to the second one.
If you're listening and thinking "I have no idea where my show actually stands right now," that's what a Podcast Audit is for. I'll go in, look at your titles, your CTAs, and your strategy, and hand you a prioritized plan built for your show.

Consistent content doesn't equal a growing business. If you've been showing up every week, dropping episodes, and wondering why your listeners still aren't buying, this one's for you.
In this episode, we're digging into the shift that actually moves the needle: from treating your podcast like a content machine to using it as the trust-building machine it's meant to be. Because your listeners aren't buying from someone else because their content is better. They're buying because they trust them more.
You'll walk away from this episode knowing:
Plus, there's a free resource at the end to help you see exactly where your podcast strategy stands. Take thePodcast Growth Scorecard and get a clear picture of what's working, what's costing you listeners, and what's actually getting in the way of turning those listeners into buyers.

Your podcast alone is not a business strategy. But your podcast connected to a system? That's where the magic happens.
In this episode, I'm breaking down the five-component podcast ecosystem every mom entrepreneur needs if she wants her show to actually make her money. Because if you're showing up, recording, and publishing and still not seeing results, this isn't a content problem. It's an ecosystem problem.
Here's what we're covering:
I'm also sharing a bonus component that's non-negotiable for moms running businesses on limited hours.
You don't need a massive audience to make real money from your podcast. You need an ecosystem. Let's build yours.

Your best episodes might actually be the reason your podcast isn't making you money. I know that stings a little, but stay with me.
In this episode, we're getting into something most podcasters never think to examine: why consistently great content doesn't automatically translate to sales.
Spoiler: it's not a content quality problem. It's a strategy problem.
Here's what we're breaking down:
If you've ever wondered why your listeners love your show but no one is buying, this episode will tell you exactly what's going on and what to change.
Because your podcast should be doing more than building an audience. It should be building a buyer path. And if it's not? That's fixable.

You've been showing up consistently. Your audio sounds great. You might even have a decent number of downloads. But when someone asks how many clients your podcast has brought in, you go quiet. Sound familiar?
That's not a content problem. That's a strategy problem, and there's a very specific gap at the center of it.
In this episode, I'm breaking down what I call the Listener-to-Buyer Bridge, the three things your podcast actually needs to stop being just a content show and start being a business asset.
You'll walk away knowing:
Here's the truth no one talks about when they teach you how to launch a podcast: launching a show and building a podcast that works for your business are two completely different things.
If you've been podcasting for a while and the revenue isn't matching the effort, this episode is your next step.

If you're in your first 30 days of podcasting (or about to launch), this episode is going to save you from the biggest mistake new podcasters make: obsessing over the wrong things.
The truth? Your download numbers in month one tell you almost nothing. And your microphone? It’s not the thing that's going to grow your show.
In this episode, I break down the three things that actually matter in your first 30 days of podcasting, plus the three things you can officially stop stressing about. You'll walk away knowing exactly where to put your energy so your podcast builds momentum from the start and doesn't just become another abandoned show in your feed.

Your podcast doesn't have a consistency problem — it has a workflow problem.
If you're recording, editing, creating graphics, and uploading all in the same week on repeat, you're not just tired. You're working against yourself. And as a mom trying to run a business in stolen hours, that cycle is unsustainable by design.
In this episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on exactly how I manage my podcast workflow — the mistakes I made early on that wasted so much time, and the batching and systems approach that changed everything for me. We're talking about why podcasting in real time is burning you out, how to reduce friction so you can stay visible without the scramble, and what sustainable visibility actually looks like for moms in business.
You'll walk away with a clear picture of how to simplify your podcast workflow so that your show fits into your life instead of consuming it.

If your podcast is getting downloads but those listeners aren't turning into leads, inquiries, clients, or sales, there's a good chance your podcast doesn't actually have a funnel.
In this episode, I'm breaking down one of the biggest mistakes I see podcasters make: assuming that mentioning an offer at the end of an episode is enough to drive conversions. The truth? Most podcasts are missing a strategic listener journey entirely.
We're talking about what a podcast funnel actually looks like, why random calls to action and disconnected freebies are hurting your results, and how to create a simple, intentional pathway that moves listeners from discovering your show to becoming buyers.
If you've ever wondered why your podcast isn't generating the leads or sales you hoped for, this episode will help you identify what's missing and show you how to create a podcast that works as a true business asset—not just another piece of content.

Your podcast might not actually have a growth problem… it might have a messaging problem.
If you're consistently showing up, creating valuable episodes, and doing “all the right things” but still feeling like your podcast isn't growing or converting the way you hoped, this episode is for you. Today we're digging into one of the most overlooked reasons podcasts stay stuck: unclear messaging.
Because growth isn't just about publishing more content — it's about creating content that makes the right people immediately think: "Wait… this is exactly what I need."

What if the reason your podcast isn’t growing isn’t because it’s bad… but because you’re quitting too soon?
In this episode, I’m having a real, honest conversation about why so many mom podcasters stop right before things start working. Podcasting is a slow burn. It’s not instant dopamine like social media. It’s a compounding strategy and if you quit before the compounding happens, you’ll assume it failed.
If you’ve ever looked at your downloads and thought, “Maybe this just isn’t working,” this episode is for you. Because the truth? Most mom podcasters don’t quit because they’re bad at business. They quit because they’re overwhelmed, juggling everything, and measuring the wrong things.

When we talk about DIY podcasting, the conversation usually gets stuck on money. But the real cost? It often has nothing to do with your bank account. In this episode of Podcasting for Moms, we’re digging into the hidden costs of doing it all yourself—the time, energy, momentum, and mental load that quietly pile up behind the scenes.
If you’ve ever felt like your podcast is something you’re constantly “catching up on,” or like it’s asking more from you than you can realistically give in this season of motherhood and business, this episode is for you. We’re reframing what support really means and asking an honest question: is DIY podcasting still serving you or is it slowly costing you more than you realize?
In this episode, we cover:
This episode isn’t about pushing you to outsource—it’s about helping you protect your energy, your time, and your ability to keep showing up consistently. In the next episode, I’ll walk you through exactly how I support clients one-on-one with podcast strategy and production so you can decide what kind of support feels right for you in this season.
🎧 Tune in, reflect honestly, and remember: you’re not just building a podcast—you’re building something sustainable that supports your life, not drains it.

If you’ve ever listened to podcast advice and thought, “I’m not failing… I’m just exhausted doing this alone,” this episode is for you. Today we’re talking about what real support behind the mic actually looks like—not vague encouragement or hype, but practical, day-to-day support that makes podcasting feel lighter, calmer, and sustainable again.
In this episode, I break down the difference between doing it all yourself and being truly supported in your podcast. We’ll talk about why support doesn’t take away your voice or control, how it removes mental load and decision fatigue, and what changes when your podcast is held inside a clear strategy and structure. If podcasting has started to feel heavy, chaotic, or draining, this conversation might put words to something you didn’t realize you were craving.
In this episode, we cover:
If this episode feels grounding or relieving as you listen, pay attention—that reaction matters. In the next episode, we’ll dive into the real cost of doing everything yourself, not just financially, but mentally and energetically too.
You don’t have to carry your podcast alone and sustainable podcasting doesn’t have to feel heavy.

If someone binge-listened to your last five podcast episodes… would they know what you actually sell?
Oof. I know. That question can sting a little.
In this episode, we’re having an honest (but gentle) conversation about whether your podcast is truly set up to support your business or if it’s just existing next to it. Because here’s the truth: you can have incredible content, loyal listeners, and high-value episodes… and still not see sales. Not because you’re doing anything “wrong,” but because your podcast might not be positioned to sell.
Today, we’re breaking down what a sales-ready podcast actually looks like, the common mistakes I see all the time, and how to shift from “just educating” to building belief and guiding listeners toward the next step without being pushy, awkward, or salesy.
In This Episode, We Cover:
If this episode made you realize your podcast might not actually be supporting your income the way you want it to, that’s not failure — it’s clarity. And clarity is powerful.
If you’re ready to create a profitable and sustainable podcast that turns listeners into buyers (without working full-time hours), I’d love to support you insideMoms Behind the Mic Society — my low-cost membership for mom podcasters who want to start, grow, and scale their show strategically.

This is a gentle but honest reframe for anyone who feels stuck, overwhelmed, or quietly frustrated by a podcast that feels harder than it should even when you’re “doing everything right.”
In this episode, you’ll learn:
This episode is part of a special bonus series, and it leads directly into the next conversation about what real support behind the mic actually looks like — not in theory, but in practice. If your podcast feels heavy, this episode will help you pinpoint why and where support could make the biggest difference.

Before we go any further into this bonus mini-series, we need to talk about something important: one-on-one podcast support. If you’ve ever felt guilty for wanting help, unsure if you’re “ready,” or wondered whether support means you somehow failed at DIY… this episode is for you. Because needing support doesn’t mean you didn’t try hard enough — it usually means effort alone isn’t the problem anymore. Structure is.
In this episode, we’re having an honest, pressure-free conversation about who one-on-one podcast support is for and who it’s not. We’ll break down the signs that support can actually create momentum (instead of adding more to your plate), why support isn’t about perfection or quick fixes, and how having someone in your corner can make podcasting more sustainable as a busy mom in business. This is about clarity, direction, and building a podcast that works with your life — not against it.
In this episode, we cover:
If you’ve been asking yourself “Am I ready for support?” this episode invites you to consider a better question: Do I really want to keep doing this alone?
As you continue through this bonus series, listen with curiosity — not pressure. And if you catch yourself thinking, “I just want someone in my corner with this,” that’s worth paying attention to.

In this short bonus trailer, I’m sharing what I see all the time with smart, capable mom podcasters who are consistent, invested, and showing up… yet still feel like they’re carrying their podcast alone. This episode introduces a two-week bonus mini series focused on what it actually looks like to be supported behind the mic. No hype. No pressure to work harder. Just honest conversations to help you decide what kind of support you truly need (if any) so your podcast can feel lighter, clearer, and more sustainable.

In case you missed it, I took about 4 months off from publishing new episodes on this podcast. I had been running this show and putting out new episodes almost every single week without stopping aside from the occasional holiday break since 2018 and honestly, I was starting to feel a bit burnt out.
I knew if I didn’t take some things off my plate, I was going to start dropping the ball in other areas of my business which I definitely didn’t want to happen especially as I was going into maternity leave and had a bunch of things I needed to get done before taking off for 2 months.
Now that I have had 4 months off, I am ready to get back to publishing new episodes of the show again and continue to bring you my knowledge.

I figured this week that we would throw it back to an episode I did around this time last year that was a huge hit and I think every podcaster needs to utilize - and that was my episode all about listener surveys.
Now that we’re nearing the end of the year, it’s time to start prepping your podcast for 2023 and one of the ways you can do that is by surveying your listeners.
It can really help you get a feel for what kind of content they want more of from you and give you some insight that you can’t really get just by looking at your listener data within your hosting platform.
So let’s dive into this replay episode!
In today’s episode, we’re addressing the question “Is it time to rebrand my podcast?”
If you’ve been podcasting for quite some time, think a year or more - you might start feeling the itch to do some sort of rebrand. Whether that’s something as simple as changing up the brand colors or even changing the name or something as major as a complete and total overhaul of the podcast. It’s definitely not uncommon.
In today’s episode, we’re addressing how to know if it’s time to rebrand your podcast so let’s dive in.
In today’s episode, we’re talking about how to use your download data to make strategic decisions in your business.
So many people see their download numbers and instead of using the data strategically, they freak out and question their numbers and if they’re even good enough which can lead us to a downward spiral.
So I want to dive into how we can avoid that spiral and actually use our download data strategically.

If your inbox is anything like mine, you are constantly getting pitches that are less than ideal so your options are to either ignore them (which is totally fine to do on occasion) or you can respond and let them down easy.
I know sometimes if the pitch is really off, I have responded and given them some unwanted feedback, but usually, that ends up being a waste of time.
So let’s dive into how to politely decline guest pitches so that they aren’t left hanging.

It seems pretty crazy that the holiday season is upon us already but it’ll be here before we know it so now is the time to get prepared.
The holiday season is usually crazy busy for most of us and a lot of us end up taking off time at the end of the year to spend time with our family and friends and really take time to recharge our batteries in preparation for the New Year.

With 2021 coming to a close, that means the holiday season is in full swing with Thanksgiving (for all you Americans listening) right around the corner and Christmas shortly after so I wanted to do an episode on preparing your podcast for the holidays.
With the holidays comes busier schedules personally and professionally, so sometimes our podcast can get put on the back burner this time of year and I want to encourage you to not let that happen so let’s get into the episode.
In today’s episode, we’re going to be chatting about podfade - what it is and how to avoid it because it can definitely happen if we’re not careful.
In today’s episode, we are chatting about if you should start a Patreon for your podcast or not so if it's something you've been considered for your podcast, you won't want to miss today's episode.
Everyone has different reasons for podcasting thus everyone's version of success is slightly different.
Tune in to learn the 3 metrics I think every podcaster should be tracking to determine their success.
Welcome back to another episode of the podcast. In today’s episode, we’re going to go back to the basics and chat all about podcast terminology.
If you’re new to the podcasting world, some of these terms might be unfamiliar to you so I wanted to provide you with an episode where we dive into all the basic terms and their meanings so you know exactly what we’re talking about.
This isn’t a completely exhaustive list but I tried to include the terms I think you absolutely need to know as a new podcaster.
I know that most of us, although we probably truly enjoy podcasting, we don’t do it for absolutely no reason.
Our reasoning for podcasting may be different, sure, but whether we’re podcasting to position ourselves as an expert in our niche, make money, or a mix of the two, we have our own endgame goal.
Most entrepreneurs' reason for podcasting isn’t to make thousands off of ad sponsorships but to make an impact while also supporting their business monetarily with their podcast which is what today’s episode is all about.
So if you’re ready to learn how to convert your listeners into leads, then let’s get into it.
Hey savvies! Welcome back to another episode of the podcast. We skipped releasing a new episode last week as my son was home sick all week and I hadn’t recorded a new episode for the week so I decided to just skip releasing a new episode so I didn’t have to stress about when I would be able to record.
Skipping a week isn’t something I advise anyone to do and definitely isn’t something I do often but sometimes life throws you a curveball and it is what it is. That just goes to show how important batching is.
This episode is for those of you who have yet to launch your podcast or are planning on revamping your cover art.
I feel like cover art isn’t something talked about too often but it’s definitely a key piece of your podcast so today I’m going to be sharing 5 elements that your cover art needs.
In today’s episode, we’re going to be chatting all about how to manage multiple podcasts.
I know, I know you’re probably like wait hold up, I can barely manage one podcast, how the heck am I going to manage multiple?
If you’re content with your one podcast and don’t plan on starting another that is totally fine but you may want to skip this episode if that’s the case.
This episode is for my multi-passionate podcasters and any podcast managers out there that tune into this show.
In today’s episode, we’re going to be chatting all about podcast sponsorships and if they will be a good fit for your specific podcast or not.
First up, let’s discuss what different podcast sponsorships are available out there.
There are a few different sponsorship options - we have affiliate marketing, traditional ad sponsorships, and self-sponsorship.
The one we’ll be diving into today is traditional sponsorships so this means ad segments from other companies.
If you’re an avid podcast listener, I’m sure you’re familiar with these kinds of ads. They’re usually for a brand you’re already familiar with to some extent and are placed at the beginning of an episode right before the content starts, in the middle of the episode, or at the end of an episode.
In today’s episode, we’re discussing one of the most important things about having a podcast as a business owner and that is getting your listeners to actually take action outside of passively listening to your episodes each week.
The topic of this week’s episode is How to Start Treating Your Show Like a Business because a big part of treating your podcast like a business is not flying by the seat of your pants each and every week.
In this episode, I will give you the exact tools that you need to be a great guest and have a great guest experience as the host.
In today’s episode we’re chatting all about picking a marketing focus for your podcast because unfortunately, podcast players like Apple and Spotify don’t really help much in terms of getting new listeners to your show unless you’ve already got a large podcast.
In today’s episode, we’ll be covering how to take a podcast hiatus.
Now, this can be a planned break from your podcast like maternity leave, sabbatical, etc., or even just taking a brief break in between podcast seasons.
With podcast breaks come people losing interest or potentially even forgetting that your podcast exists so it’s important to have a plan in place during your breaks so that you can continue to retain listenership.
Hey savvies! Welcome back to another episode of the Savvy Podcasting for Entrepreneurs Podcast. We’ve officially made it to episode 199 of the podcast which is absolutely incredible. If you’re new around these parts, this is my 199th episode in general but SPFE hasn’t put out 199 episodes about podcasting so I just wanted to clear that up but it’s super exciting regardless.
In today’s episode, we’re chatting all about how to NOT pitch yourself as a podcast guest. Being a guest on podcasts is something a lot of people are looking to add to their visibility strategy in 2021 so I figured you as a podcast host listening to this might benefit from guesting on podcasts yourself versus always being behind the mic.
Hey savvies! Welcome back to another episode of the show. In today’s episode, we’re addressing a question that I frequently get and that is how far in advance should I market my new episodes. So I’m going to share my insight on that aspect plus also how to market your episodes before they’re live without revealing too many details.
In today’s episode, we’re delving into the world of affiliate marketing. This is a topic I briefly touched on during my monetization series back in episodes 183-185 but today I wanted to dive deeper into affiliate marketing and have that be the focus for the whole episode.
Today I am chatting with Melissa Guller of Wit & Wire Podcast. Melissa Guller is the CEO of Wit & Wire, where she helps online business owners build their authority, reach new audiences, and expand their earning potential through podcasting. In this episode, we are going to talk about building a community around your podcast.
In today’s episode, we’re chatting about the importance of building an email list for your podcast.
As I have mentioned on the podcast a few times before, podcasting is sort of a one-way street if you don’t take the time to direct your listeners elsewhere like a Facebook group, in your DMs, to join your email list, etc. So having somewhere else you can direct your listeners to is key.
There are so many ways to build a community from your podcast but today we’re going to focus on the email list building route.
Hey savvies! In today’s episode, we’re chatting all about repurposing your old podcast episodes because let’s be real, most of us probably record an episode, post it, maybe promote it on social media a few times, and then never speak of it again.
We put so much time and effort into our podcasts, it is important to work smarter, not harder which is why repurposing your episodes is so key.
Today I’ll be sharing about the different ways to make the most out of your podcast episodes so let’s get into it.
In today’s episode, I’m going to be diving into how to select which social media channels you should use to grow your podcast because let’s be real unless you have some sort of social media presence or are investing in paid advertising for your podcast, you won’t be able to grow as quickly as you’d hope.
So I want to preface this by saying one thing: You DO NOT need to be on every social media platform to be successful with your podcast.
Today I am chatting with Laura Bauder of Profit From Podcasting. Laura is a podcast strategist who supports female entrepreneurs with using podcasting as a lead generation and marketing strategy in their business. She is the host of Profit From Podcasting, the creator of The Podcast Vault membership, and a proponent of more women sharing their messages with the world. In this episode, we are going to talk about many of the benefits of outsourcing your podcast.
Hey savvies! I have been busy recording some new guest episodes for you guys for the first time since October so I am really excited to start rolling those out over the next few months because I have so missed having guests on the show and can’t wait to start implementing them again on the podcast.
I am really stoked for today’s episode because it’s not something I have seen too many other podcast strategists talk about so I think it will be really great for podcasters at any stage to learn from.
So today I wanted to chat about the free platform called Chartable.
In today’s episode, I am chatting about what to do when you’re not happy with an interview. Because let’s be real, if you record interviews with guests on a regular basis, you will probably eventually run into this at some point so it’s good to be prepared beforehand.
This may be just due to bad audio quality, not so great content, or something else but preparation is key so that you’re not stumped in the future.
As of March 2021, there are 1,950,000 active podcasts right now and that number is growing every day, which is just crazy. I feel like the pandemic really just allowed a ton of people to finally start their podcasts which is just amazing.
But in recent times, I have found that so many people use this as an excuse to not start their podcast because they think that the podcasting space is oversaturated. If you want to learn my thoughts on the topic of oversaturation in podcasting, head to episode 180 and give that episode a listen.
This episode is really for either people who are brand-spankin’ new to the podcasting world and haven’t yet launched or they have been podcasting for a little bit and haven’t utilized transcripts yet but want to know if it’s something they need to add going forward.
This is a question I get frequently in my Instagram DMs and on Clubhouse so I figured I would answer it here in an episode for those of you who are just podcast listeners but don’t follow me on other avenues.
A question that aspiring podcasters always ask me is “do I really need a website for my podcast” so today I’ll be answering that question and sharing my thoughts on if having a website for your podcast is necessary or not.
Hey savvies! Welcome back to another episode of Savvy Podcasting for Entrepreneurs. This is our last episode of 2020 as we’ll be taking the next two weeks off to celebrate the holiday season with our family and prepare for the next season of the podcast.
