The second episode of #DevSqLive, the video podcast, though this was really just live to tape... err, hard drive. Anyhow, we talk about Matthew Greens' "The network is hostile" post (http://blog.cryptographyengineering.com/2015/08/the-network-is-hostile.html) and look into how NetCipher (https://github.com/guardianprojet/netcipher) and PLUTO (the library not the planetoid) might help!
We'll be talking about some of the new and interesting services that Google has recently released for communicating with nearby devices (iPhone and Android!), as well as for advanced face detection in mobile apps. We'll walk through code and app demos, talk about the unfortunate closed nature of Google Play Services, and compare these tools to some truly free and open solutions available today and on the horizon.
