Two Sides Of A Coin is a podcast about addressing the various dilemmas, we come across in our daily lives, especially the dilemmas mindful people face. In the Bhagvada Gita, Krishna acts as a mentor to the confused warrior but strong archer Arjuna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra. We all are Arjunas in life with unique talents just like Arjuna was an expert archer. This podcast will take you on a journey of realization that your daily confusions and battles are trivial compared to our potential. So, let's get started! You can connect with me on instagram and Facebook. I am @aishwaryabogam.
So many times in our life, we say to ourselves, “I’m worthless. I cannot do this. I am a loser.” On the other hand, we even say, “I am better than all of them. They should listen to me,” and witness our ego and arrogance taking control. It feels like two different people talking, but these are voices from the same head. These are the two extremes of ego. The confusion between ego and self-esteem arises when we are disconnected from ourselves, when we don’t have the right conversations with ourselves, when we don’t understand our own needs. We try to put others’ needs before ours, we feel guilty to say ‘No’, all due to the fear of being perceived as self-centered. We rely on the opinions of others for approval, we seek validation all the time. And when someone doesn’t appreciate us, we feel less worthy. There is a very thin line between self-esteem and ego, and we can lose track of which side we are playing on.
Self esteem is really an assessment of your self-worth, how much valuable you are to yourself and to others. It is built as a result of having self-respect and confidence in yourself, in spite of your flaws and the challenges in life for the longest period of time.
Our extremely special guest for this episode is Subhash Dhang. He is the winner of Boogie Woogie in the year 1998 which was my favourite show in childhood. Following which he opened his own school of dance, YTA or Young Talent Association in 1998, which has grown over the years into a fabulous academy for dance instructors and aspiring dancers in Pune and Mumbai. An aspiring filmmaker, He has choreographed for movies like ‘Kites’, ‘Duniyadari’, ‘Aai No. 1’ and many more. He set a record in the Limca book of records for dancing non-stop for 55 hours. He is the pioneer of Bollywood Salsa in India, which includes fusing authentic salsa and latino steps on Bollywood compositions. And I have been so fortunate to have learnt Salsa directly from him. He’s not just a teacher or coach but also a friend. From the years that I’ve known him, I’ve never seen ego get the better of him, in spite of all that he has achieved.
Let's dive into Self-esteem vs Ego!
{P.S. Please excuse us for the disturbance in the background at times. This is a learning journey for me and I hope to become better with each episode. :) }
We all know what attachments are. We are attached to our family, friends, our pets, dogs, cats, birds. We are attached to our homes, to the city we live in, to the weather there, to the language and culture there. We are humans. It’s in our nature to love. To love and be attached. It’s in our very existence. Then why does this concept of Non-attachment arise?
Life is far far bigger than these little attachments.
Learn how to expand your perspective by learning to address attachments with my spiritual guide, Meher Lazarus. She has been working as a teacher for the past 29 years, and has impacted at least 500 students every year. She is an active part of the Word Of Grace Church, Pune and believes in the magic of service.
Let's address Attachment vs Non-attachment!
In this episode, we talk about Multitasking vs Single-tasking
All of us love to say that we are multitasking. And why not? With this fast-paced technologically advancing world, we have to multitask to keep up, right? Can we do without it?
Our extremely special guest for today is my dearest friend who is always full of energy and words of wisdom, a social media influencer and an my inspiration, Miss Samruddha Patil (Instagram - @girlwithgoals.in). 'Sam', that’s what we call her, is a well-established food blogger with her Instagram page @when_in_pune, where she also inspires thousands of her followers to stay fit and healthy. She is also the Co-founder of Afzet Media (@afzetmedia) , which is a digital marketing company. And all of this at the age of 25.
Let's learn from Sam, how important is to have a balance between multitasking and Single-tasking, and also to do implement it practically.
Yo! Let's get started!
Hey everyone! I'm so excited to launch the trailer of my first ever podcast, Two Sides Of A Coin. As the name suggests, we will be talking about issues that are complementary to each other, issues that lead to confusion and obscurity in life! And who wants confusions in life? Someone wisely said, “The toughest battle you’ll ever fight in your life is the battle within yourself.” It is high time we care for our mental health, and realize that nothing is more important in our life than mental peace. That is where our strength comes from. The Bhagavad Gita says that no battle or dilemma is bigger than us and there is infinite potential within us. Along with my listeners, this is an opportunity for me to learn and expand my perspectives as well. I hope you will have fun in this journey as much as I am enjoying creating this podcast for you. We will be chatting with my mentors, colleagues, friends, family, people that I look up to, who have brought perspective and value into my life. And I promise you addressing the dualities of life will bring immense value into your life too and bless you with the nerves to be yourself and do what you love.
