What are eco-emotions and how are they affecting our everyday lives? What role do they play in our ability to – and desire to – make a difference? And how do we overcome these mental barriers that are keeping us paralyzed and stuck in place?
Seeking answers to these questions could be one of the most important topics of our times. Not just for the individual, but also for the world, as it’s a critical step in igniting the curiosity and courage needed to co-create a climate-just future.
Tune into this important conversation with three Fierce and Passionate Climate Authors that was recorded during this year's Climate Week in NYC. Tori Tsui, author of It’s Not Just You, Britt Wray, author of Gen Dread, and Anne Therese Gennari, author of The Climate Optimist Handbook shared the latest research on eco-emotions, tools for healing, and how to grow emotional resilience for the days to come.
The panel was moderated by environmental educator and creator of the digital media platform QueerBrownVegan, Isaias Hernandez.

When we talk about climate change, we usually talk about how we have to fly less, drive less, eat less meat, cut down our plastic, etc. What we don’t often talk about is the impact of cities, yet cities are responsible for 80 percent of all greenhouse emissions! And cities are only expected to grow. With approximately half of the global population living in cities right now, we’re expecting to see that number increase to two-thirds in 2050. So how do we rise to this challenge? Is it really possible to make cities net-zero or even net-positive?
That is what we’ll get into in this conversation with Benoit Bazin, CEO of Saint-Gobain!
Our GuestBenoit Bazin is the current CEO of Saint-Gobain, one of the top ten oldest corporations in the world, and an aspiring worldwide leader in sustainable construction. The company was first founded in 1665 by the French King’s minister Colbert, with the intention to get France ahead of the mirror-making business, and ended up producing all the glass for the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles.
With 167,000 employees spanning 110 different nationalities and industrial operations in no less than 70 countries, Saint-Gobain is a company we want with us on the sustainability ride! You currently find their windows in Le Louvre, The Statue of Liberty, the Whitney Museum, and other impressive buildings around the world.

Did you know that the roots of regenerative agriculture, organic farming, and the farm-to-table movement grew from the work of Black farmers like Dr. Booker T. Whatley and Dr. George Washington Carver? And yet today, Black farmers are highly underrepresented in farming and farm ownership. While the Black population of the US is approximately 13.4%, Black farmers represent 1.3 % of farmers across the US.
In this episode, we had the honor and privilege of speaking with Kiani Conley-Wilson, a grower, activist, and organizer based in Troy, NY. She is passionate about environmental justice, anti-racist/pro-feminist organizing, and the power of food across cultures, economies, and environments. Kiani is the Community Empowerment Coordinator for Soul Fire Farm, which is an Afro-Indigenous-centered community farm committed to uprooting racism and seeding sovereignty in the food system. She also organizes with local organizations to develop people-centered systems and spaces.
This is such a powerful conversation and anyone interested in sustainability, environmentalism and low waste living will learn a lot about how to make their advocacy and daily lives more intersectional.

Did you know that there isn’t a single corner of the Earth where microplastics do not exist? Yes, plastics are taking over our world, but how bad is it, really? We sat down with our friend and colleague Madeleine MacGillivray to take a deep dive (no pun intended) into the topic of microplastics. Tune in to gain a full understanding of what they are, where they come from, and what we can all do about it!

A guided meditation to look beyond climate change and envision a new kind of world!

What future could we find ourselves in if we kept some room in our hearts for the unimaginable? What life could YOU have if you allowed yourself to dream and believe?
Too often, we’re bound by our current realities, stressed and filled with worry and fear because we don’t know what the future will look like. We fear change because we don’t know what that change will bring. But we know that everything we’ve ever built, invented, or created, has come from an ability to look beyond what we know to be true now. Our world today consists of millions of manifestations - big and small - made by people who had the courage to dream of something new. People who were brave enough to think of realities that lingered outside their comfort zones; who dared to believe in the unbelievable and imagine the unimaginable, and who found the courage to go explore those new worlds.
When it comes to climate change, the only hope we truly have is to be found in that courage. We must expand our hearts and minds, begin to question everything, and dare to dream. Because maybe change isn’t so bad. Maybe change means that things could be even better. Better in the most unimaginable ways!
I created this guided meditation to help you find the place where YOUR dreams, ideas, and visions live. It will help you broaden your perspective and trust that it’s OK to not know everything. And that the sooner you let go of that need, the sooner you can move into the future where we’re meant to be.
Listen to this meditation daily and you will notice the world around you begin to shift, and you with it, as you become the hero this time needs!
Enjoy!

This episode is for the creatives and creators! We had the pleasure of speaking with 26 year old, London-based poetic phenomenon, Tom Roberts, aka Tomfoolery. His poem “The Great Realization” has been viewed over 60 million times and been transcribed into languages all over the world. Tom’s mission to spread a message of hope, optimism, and socially constructive ideas inspired us deeply and we knew you’d love to hear from him too.
In the early stages of the pandemic, Tom started putting out narrated videos that caught global attention. His sincerity, honesty, and ability with words made a lasting impression, enjoy this uplifting conversation with the one and only Tomfoolery.

Nayantara Banerjee is a former small business owner with over a decade of experience in tailoring & alterations. Do you ever feel overwhelmed by climate change? Are you afraid that if you allow yourself to fully understand the magnitude of the problem, you’ll lose yourself in despair? First of all, know that you’re not alone. Studies have shown that the more you learn about climate change, the less you tend to do, and the overwhelm that comes with this growing awareness is quite disempowering.
This episode of Climate Optimist Fridays is about how to invite climate change awareness into your life in a way that will empower and heal you.

Hi friends, welcome to my Climate Optimist Fridays, a series of short motivational episodes to kick off the weekend and to reset after what might have been a long and challenging week. I’ve realized that when most people suffer from Sunday Scaries, I tend to suffer from Friday Anxieties.
It’s interesting but when Friday afternoon comes around, I just feel… lost. It’s like all that juice that kept me motivated and busy throughout the week has run out, and I’m faced with having to deal with myself and the deeper questions like “Why are we here?” “Do we even have a shot at this climate change thing?” “Does my work to make this world a better place even matter?”
I decided to start this series as a way to find something every Friday to be inspired and reminded by. I’ll be forced to tap into my own library of climate optimism thoughts and by sharing here, I can hopefully help someone else who might be dealing with Friday Scaries too! And if you’re not anxious on Fridays like I am, don’t worry, I need this for myself, so let this be whatever it needs to be for you!
IN THIS FIRST ONE I'll talk about the core of what being a Climate Optimist means and answer the question: Why are we here? I hope you'll feel inspired and that you come back for more Climate Optimist Fridays to come so that we can continue this journey of healing, optimism, and empowerment together.
Let’s stay motivated so that we can get to business and co-create this new world!

Remember the "Dell Dude" from early 2000? Ever wonder what happened to him?
I'm thrilled to tell you that we have actor Ben Curtis - also known as the Dell Dude from the famous commercials for Dell Computers - guest Hey Change to share his story of quick fame, PSTD, addiction, and recovery. Ben passionately shares his story - the highs and the lows - and talks about how having a coach helped him get out from where he was and into the place he is today, recovered and thriving!
In this episode:
About Ben:
Ben Curtis is an American actor who became known as the Dell Dude in a series of commercials for Dell Computers between 2000 and 2003. But then a series of events, that you’re about to learn about soon, led him down a windling path and to a quite dark place where the only way out was to reach out a hand and ask for help.
Today, Ben is a recovered addict, an experienced actor in recent shows like Orange is The New Black and Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, he’s a musician with his own band Dirty Mae, but most importantly he’s a life coach on a mission to help - especially men - find self-love, courage, * compassion.

Are you suffering from climate anxiety? How do you even know if you are?
I decided to record this solo episode to share my story of climate anxiety and how it's shown up in my life. I hope that by opening up about how I've felt all these years, I'm reaching out a helping hand.
Because I want you to know that whatever you might be feeling, you're not alone! Eco-anxiety and climate depression are spreading like wildfire (no pun intended) among us and psychologists worldwide are just starting to pay attention to the mental health effects climate change can have. This is a serious topic so let's get serious about it - so that we can learn to heal!
In this episode I talk about:
Don't think this episode is for you? You might want to think again! YOU have the right to heal. YOU are entitled to feel grief and to choose to move beyond it. YOU get to be the happiest and healthiest version of yourself that you can possibly be. Because if you want to heal the world, you must start by healing yourself first.
I hope this is a helpful one, friends! If you want to read more, check out my blog post "How To Deal With Climate Anxiety"

Do you know your carbon footprint? How would your everyday actions change if you did?
In this episode, we talk to Josie Stoker, a wonderful young woman from Britain who spent the last 7 years in Asia, where she worked alongside Indigenous communities to bring their knowledge to corporate leadership teams. Having seen first-hand the effects of climate change today, she became passionate about empowering people to turn eco-anxiety into eco-action, and she’s excited about the role technology can play in supporting everyday people in their ambitions to take climate action.
Today, Josie is CoFounder and CEO at Capture - a B2B helping companies build a planet-friendly workforce. It also serves as an app that anyone can download and use to start tracking his or her individual carbon footprint, so make sure to check it out!

What is carbon negative fashion and is it even possible to produce clothes that sequester more carbon than the process of making the garment produces? It might seem too good to be true, but it's not, and I'm thrilled to end 2020 with you guys by introducing what I hope is the future of fashion - carbon negative, 100% biodegradable, permaculture approved clothes.
Edzard van Der Wyck is the founder of Sheep Inc. - a new fashion brand launched in October 2019 that is creating carbon negative, fully traceable, 100% biodegradable, ethically sourced, Merino wool, unisex ZQ certified jumpers. On top of all these fancy and exciting titles, they also work closely with their wool farms to ensure a focus on regenerative farming, land mapping, bio diversity and planting trees with the goal of creating farms that are carbon sinks and producing a naturally carbon negative product. Check out their sweaters and learn more about their journey at www.sheepinc.com

When did we start having such a strained relationship with stuff? And can you actually have stuff without breaking the planet? That is exactly what we'll get into in this episode with circular economy entrepreneur and author Sandra Goldmark.
Thing's we'll ponder together:
We'll also start the episode with what I call "Maddie Chats" where Madeleine is coming back to the show to give you quick "need-to-know" about microplastics, a teaser of an upcoming episode when we'll dive a lot deeper into that world...
About Sandra:
Sandra is a circular economy entrepreneur and author whose work focuses on solutions to overconsumption and climate change. In her recent book Fixation: How to Have Stuff Without Breaking the Planet, she takes readers on a quest to radically reimagine what a healthy relationship with our stuff might look like.

Did you know that we have merely 60 years left of growable soil? That is if we continue doing farming the way we do today, with destructive practices like tilling, mono-cropping, and fertilizer use. The good thing is that soil has an incredible ability to regenerate itself and that it's hungry for carbon. And if it's something we have way too much of in our atmosphere today, it's just that. So by changing our agricultural practices and build for healthy soils, we can create a machine that will not only grow more nutrient dense foods, but also help sequester all the CO2 currently stored in our air.
In other words - no only do we have the ability to save the soil, but if we do, the soil might very well save us.
This is live Q&A with Rob Herring, the director of the incredible film The Need To Grow. If you haven't seen the film already I highly recommend you watch it - head over to www.theneedtogrow.com and start getting excited about soil!

But a lot of people are die-hard fixed to their current identity and they may not know why. Most people don’t know how much they’re holding themselves back.”

How do we make change happen in a world that may not be ready for change?
It’s election year here in the US and if there’s something that might be more important than anything it's that if you can, you turn out to vote. But what does this look like during a pandemic? And more so - how can you be more involved in politics in your every day life? Does your social media sharing and tweeting actually matter and do politicians listen to what you have to say? Learn about that, the Green New Deal, and much more in this chat with my friend and incredibly impactful guy Saad Amer.
Saad Amer is an environmentalist, activist and the Founder of Plus1Vote, an organization dedicated to improving voter turnout and improving representation in our democracy. Reaching millions, the organization rallies voters on issues like climate change, social justice and voting rights. He is an Expert Reviewer for the upcoming IPCC AR6 report, is on the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change’s Youth Constituency, and is an Advisor to the National Parks Conservation Association. He has written for National Geographic, PBS and the World Bank, and has spoken at the United Nations, TEDx and Tokyo University. He went to Harvard University where he studied Environmental Science and Public Policy with a minor in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology.

The term "vote with your dollar" is starting to become fairly well-known. People understand that how they spend their money and what companies and products they support matters. But what most people don't know is that we must also pay attention to what our money is doing when it's just sitting in our banks. Because (and this might come as a surprise to many, as it did to me) it's not just sitting there, it's out in the world doing stuff. Your money funds thing.
So, what exactly is your money funding? That's exactly what we're about to get into in this episode with Benjamin Stuart, Chief Marketing Officer at Bank of The West and an expert on this topic. This bank is not like most other banks, they know money has the power to finance positive change and are taking action to support activities that help protect the planet and improve people’s lives.

Did you know that it takes 713 gallons of water, 1/3 LBS of pesticides, and 13 LBS of carbon to make ONE t-shirt? Crazy, right? Also, did every year, about half a million tonnes of plastic microfibers leak into our oceans from washing synthetics - the equivalent to 50 million plastic bottles. These crazy facts don't even mention the inhumane and unethical practices that goes into making a majority of our clothes, so needless to say, fashion is a dirty industry.
But it doesn't have to be that way, and I'm thrilled to have Kerry Bannigan, the woman behind The Conscious Fashion Campaign, on Hey Change. We chat about UN's sustainability goals, the human element for change, and what needs to be done to change Fashion Week for the better.

Is there hope for our planet or should we consider it game over? If you were starting to doubt, make sure to tune into this conversation with Renee Peters and she will undoubtedly bring back your faith!
"It's incredible to see how fast soil comes back to life when humans get to work with it the right way. For the longest time I thought we were the problem, then I realized that if done the right way - we can actually be the solution."
Renee Peters is an Earth activist who––after a decade working as a fashion model in NYC and all over the world––realized a deep yearning to return to Nature. With an undergrad degree in Animal Biology, last summer she decided to follow her calling to explore the potentials of permaculture and regenerative agriculture for ecosystem restoration. She took a Permaculture Design course in Vermont with Whole Systems Design and subsequently completed a two-month apprenticeship on a Homestead near Albany; a four-month WWOOF exchange on a permaculture production farm in Maui, HI; and is currently deepening her practices with permaculture as a Forest Garden Apprentice in Highland, NY.
No longer modeling, Renee seeks to show her following on social media that transitioning to a completely different field of work is possible, no matter what your age is. She also hopes to show that reconnecting and working with the land is a change that not only benefits the planet, but also benefits the soul and personal health and happiness.

Changing the narrative around climate change is imperative if we are to aim for a regenerative future. We can't continue to just pump fear and point fingers (let’s face it, we’ve all been wrong) and there's no point in piling evidence of our inevitable disaster unless we're given the clear directions of what to do.
Fear + uncertainty = anxiety + apathy. Which means a bunch of unhappy people unable to get to action. Reversing global warming is not just possible - it's our only option - and we need to start looking at it from excitement and understand that it is, in fact, the most exciting time ever to be alive!
I want to help shift your Universe so that you can feel good about being here, alive and thriving on this planet today. Not despite all the terrible things humanity has done, but because of all the good things we are here to do. I invite you to start your own personal journey towards becoming a happy, healthy, and mission driven Climate Optimist.
In The Climate Optimist Class #1 we will uncover why optimism is needed in the world today and how we can start changing our personal worlds through the practice of retruthing. I would love to see your retruthings as you go about and transform your worlds! Did you know that 99% of the world’s gold miners use mercury when extracting gold from the earth? Mercury is a super harmful material and the United Nations have declared the issue a worldwide crisis. More so actually: It’s the number one threat to the planet.
When Today’s guest Robert (or Bob) Donofrio , the founder of @futurajewelry , found out about this he knew he had to do something about it. Bob began his career in the luxury jewelry business 35 years ago and is the former President of brands like Bulgari and Asprey. But through a recent life-changing discovery of the devastation and threat that mercury used in small-scale gold mining poses to our planet, he chose to support a cleaner tomorrow. He launched Futura, a modern brand offering consumers a new jewelry option to wear what they believe. He is also an Official Partner of the UN Environment Program Global Mercury Partnership and I’m so honored to have him here on Hey Change.

Why are positive news so important? That’s a topic we’re discussing with passion in todays episode with Georgina Powell, a true Eco-Warrior and the founder of positive news magazine Pebble. As a writer she found it frustrating that no-one was interested publishing things like sustainable fashion or environmental progress and innovations, and she thought that of course people must be willing to read about such positive things? Turns out she was right and Pebble, an online magazine with all things good news, has today reached 40,000 monthly readers and growing. In this episode we talk about how positive news have changed both of our lives but also how we feel that amazing shift that is happening all around us. Is the time finally here to be excited about positive change?
Let’s end 2018 with a bang! WOOP!
Pebble is an award-winning, fast growing digital magazine and community based in the UK - it's all about guilt-free pleasures - from ethical fashion to eco travel. Its founder Georgina Wilson-Powell has spent the last 16 years working as an editor and publisher for global food and travel brands before setting it up pebble in 2016. She wanted to use her media and communication skills to share positive stories that inspire change.

In this chat with me we talk about how crazy it can seem to follow a gut feeling that makes so sense, how women (even in America) often don’t understand that they are the ones who hold the key to change, and what being an empowered and conscious consumer really looks like. If you wish you had more power to change the world, this episode just might change your perception of what that power really is. You know what time it is guys? It’s time to completely flip it all on its end and start redesigning everything. Because it’s not about reducing or reusing, it’s about redesigning. Not just the products we buy and the clothes we wear, but our whole society and how we operate as humans. Does this mean we need to go back in time and say thanks and good bye to consumerism for good? No, not al all! In fact, if you are to believe the cradle to cradle philosophy, shopping is not the issue. Because it’s not just what we do but how we do them - how can we redesign everything? But the exciting part is that we can do it and we have nature as our role model, showing us how.
The C2C School of Thought is characterized by a positive conception of man with a positive footprint: as beneficial organisms humans are a part of the environment. Old patterns of thinking are abandoned, while new paths towards “intelligent abundance" are established.

Have you ever felt like the life you built for yourself wasn’t really what you thought it would be? Or have you maybe felt too pushed by society and expectations - both your own and others - to follow a certain path even though deep inside you know you’d rather do something else? And if so, have you ever considered just saying “heck with this” and go for it?
I know, it can seem super scary, but in this talk with Sinead Bovell, the top of her class business student who completely switched gears and decided to do her own thing, we talk about what it means to trust your intuition and follow your heart. Sinead is all about building that life for yourself that you are meant to live and to do the work you’re put on this earth to do, and so she started her own business to be able to educate and inspire other millennials to follow their own dreams.
She’s the model who talks tech, the girl boss who gets invited to attend meetings at the UN and hang out with presidents at Bloombergs Business Forum, and one of the most earth-bound and humble humans I’ve ever met. I’m super excited to share this talk with you guys, so get ready to feel inspired!

What does an "ECORenaissance mean"? And how can we move collectively and in style into a better and more sustainable future? This is the conversation with the woman who was there when it all started and who's seen the movement pave it's path over the years, a movement that grew from our concern for organic food and that is widely spreading into sustainable fashion and other important parts of our lives. So do you want to believe we can do something to fight for our future? Then get ready to be inspired by the woman who's been making waves of change for 20 something years!
Marci Zaroff
Marci coined and trademarked the term “Eco Fashion” in 1995 and has since then been a pioneer in the world of ecology and fashion. Her vision: to style the world and change, while changing the world of style. In other words, the gave birth to the movement that is today taking the world by storm.
She’s the woman behind the largest professional “health coach” certification program in the world, The Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and she’s been part of co-founding many companies like BeyondBrands, Good Catch Foods, Under The Canopy and MetaWear Organic, a Virginia based factory creating Cradle-to-Cradle certified apparel.
What more? Despite the busy entrepreneur and change maker that she is, she’s also found time to write a book. ECORenaissance was just released and she’s currently touring the country to promote this amazing book.

Did you know that one in five fruits and vegetables are considered too ugly for grocery stores, meaning that billions of pounds of fresh fruits and veggies every year never make it to a store? And more so, that actually 40 % of all food that is produced gets thrown away? From an environmental point of view, the food we waste is responsible for roughly 8 percent of all global emissions. YIKES! But, like with any alarming facts like these, there’s room for positivity and solutions.
In this episode, get ready to learn a thing or two about food; how you can get better at making the most of what you buy, how to make sure you don’t shop too much in the first place, and how to support ways that those “ugly” produces find a home. According to Project Drawdown (scientific research led by Paul Hawken), reducing food waste is number 3 on the list of the 100 most efficient ways of reducing global warming, so step up your game and get to action with your food!

In today’s episode with vegan model and social influencer Brad we talk a lot about (plant-based) foods, of course, but even more so about the impact food has on us and Planet Earth. Brad shares his story about growing up an unhealthy, lost, and chubby kid and how he one day decided to take matters in his own hands and start loosing weight. The reason? Simple, he wanted to attract that pretty girl in school! But the path it lead him down had a much greater impact on his life than he first might have thought.
What we’ll cover today is the importance of self-empowerment and of choosing a lifestyle that will make you both feel and look good. We talk about how what might seem like vain reasons at first, will actually catalyze you into a new version of yourself - a self-loving, self-empowered and humble you, who will one day be the one who helps and empowers others. Brad also gives his best advice on how to take on something as scary as going plant-based, and how it’s all about a marathon and not a sprint.
Brad is a former chubby and timid kid turned fit international male model represented throughout the US. His relationship with food has greatly impacted his life from a young age and in 2017, Brad decided to start weaning himself off meat as a way to find inner peace with the world around him. Today, Brad is purely plant based and shares his story and expertise to inspire others to obtain a physically, mentally, and spiritually healthier life.

Here's one I haven't done in a while - a solo episode! In this episode I've decided to share my personal journey to a plant-based life and what I've dealt with through all of that; the why's behind it, the magic that came with it, but also a lot of the confusion when I first started out. Because the thing is that's it's easy to forget how hard things were on an early stage and how confusing it can be when you first start out.
When I first thought about going vegan four years ago I was as far away from that lifestyle as you can possibly be. I was a gym junky downing protein-shakes like my life depended on it and I counted every calorie that I ate. No-one in my family or in my group of friends were vegans or even vegetarian and I had never been introduced to the idea of living a plant-based life. But by changing one habit at the time and by asking for help I made it happen in only three months and I can HONESTLY say that since that day my life hasn't been the same. So this episode is a way for me to share my journey in order to hopefully be able to help you start yours.

Change. Why is is so damn hard and how can we make it a little easier? How do we learn to believe in ourselves and to trust our intuition? Well, one thing I know for sure is that it helps a lot keeping people around you that radiate good energy and that will be there and push you on your way. People that say "You've got this girl, go show the world what you're made of!"
Katina Montanos, the founder of blog On Adulting and the podcast Challenging The Collective, is one of those people that pushes me to keep going and who's always there with a big, encouraging smile. This BONUS episode is taken from her podcast where she actually interviews ME, and we cover topics like how to embrace change and how to trust your crazy and bold deciscions, the benefits of a plantbased life and what made me go vegan, as well as the story behind how I ended up where I am today - an ex model running my own agency (how crazy is life??). So tune in for a woman-to-woman fireside chat between Katina and I, on embracing the things we can't change, and fighting for the ones that we can.

Do you care about your health? Do you find it important to work out, eat right and stay mindful and balanced? Then my next question is, have you ever asked yourselves what’s in your clothes? Because if you haven’t, you might wanna start doing that now! Because the truth is that the garments that we wear are filled with tons of toxins and that the skin, which is our body’s biggest organ, will absorb.
So how is it that we know so much about the food we put in our bodies, the products we apply on our skin, and the energies we surround ourselves with in terms of co-workers and friends, but no-one talks about the fact that we walk around wearing toxins all day? In this episode with Annette, the Design Director at Ethical & Sustainable active-wear brand Vyayama, we talk about the importance of knowing what your clothes are made of. Not just for your own health but for the future of our planet as well.

What is the "truth"? What things in life truly matters? How do we learn to love ourselves and our bodies and how to de get in touch with that inner voice we know is always there? In today's episode of change, we chat with Katina, a 20-something-year-old blogger and inspiration-seeker who just moved to San Fransisco from New York. What's the real deal about protein? How much does one actually need per day and can we get enough from only eating plants? According Marc Wood, the nightclub boss who decided to go vegan 6 years ago and who started doing Triathlons at age 48, you absolutely can. He's now also a certified nutrition health coach guiding people at the gym how to build muscles and stay healthy on a plant-based diet and lifestyle. Listen to find out why Marc found the vegan route to be an easy choice and learn why plant-based proteins are the future.
Marc stopped eating meat at age 23 when he went to see an animal rights convention in Earls Court, London, where he for the first time became aware of the suffering and cruelty animals are subjected to. After eventually meeting a vegan friend several years later who educated him on the dangers of dairy and the cruelty that industry, it was an easy step to skip the T in vegetarian and go fully vegan. From volunteering at the Hospice of New York, Marc witnessed people suffering from a lot of diseases, which got him thinking about why so many people in the western world die from cancers and heart-related problems. He began educating himself on the causes of such diseases and today he's a certified Family Health Coach and helps others by going into their homes and giving lessons on how to cook tasty and nutritious plant-based meals.

Want to learn how to make chocolate ice-cream out of sweet potatoes? Then tune into this fun episode with New York model and Vegan Chef Leo Rusanov. As we share the floor in his Harlem apartment we talk about both of our journeys to a plant-based life; how they started, what changes we went through and how it made us feel. We kill some typical "vegan myths" and Leo shares why he at first was afraid of the term "vegan". Are you curious about changing to a plant-based diet but don't really know how? Then I hope this episode can help you get that journey started!
Leo is a Russian guy who moved to New York six years ago. When he about 16 months ago (by accident, almost) got introduced to the plant-based kitchen when assisting a chef, he found himself introduced to a whole new world. He got to eat all she prepared and was amazed by how good vegan food could be, and he thought to himself "why should I ever need to eat anything else?" In other words, Leo became vegan simply because he loved the food so much! But being a model and a man, of course, he struggled with some of the doubt that everyone asks themselves. Will I get enough protein? Will I lose a lot of weight? Will I be able to find enough things to eat? Well, listen to find out...
Instagram: @VeganChefLeo Facts from the Episode:
One thing that vegans might be lacking is B12, and it's essential that you make sure that you get enough. Most groceries of lifestyle stores carry B12 supplements and one pill a day usually makes it (be careful not to buy the ones with gelatine in them though - NOT VEGAN!) There's also one other life-saver out there and it's called Nutritional Yeast - cheesy in its flavor and goes with lot's of food! (Listen to recipes for directions).

Would you ever wear roadkill? What does it mean to vote with your wallet? Could it actually be fun to help save the world? In today’s talk with sustainable fashionista Cora Hilts, we put end to some confusion that is Ethical and Sustainable fashion. I mean, what is really the difference between recycled, upcycled and something that’s sustainably made? What does it mean that a piece of clothing is organic?? Is vintage is in our out and is it ok to claim yourself the title of a hero?WHO IS CORA?Cora Hilts who is one of the co-founders of British fashion store RêveEnVerte – a hip and trendy place for consuming ethical and sustainable fashion online. She founded the company together with her partner Natasha four years ago, in response to the evolving nature of contemporary style, something they both felt to be a bit too consumptive and trend-based for their taste. Rêve-En-Vert is their commitment to bettering the world through the medium of fashion and lifestyle. It is a project of passion to support designers who are improving the standards of the design industry.Inspired to try out some sustainable fashion? If you head over to revenvert.com and use code “heychange“, you get a 15 % discount on your first purchase – how awesome is that?? Don’t miss out!!CORA’S RETRUTH:The idea that one person can’t make a change. I think that that has actually been my biggest fear this whole journey of creating Reve, believing that I as an individual don’t have the capacity to do enough. But when I look back on what I’ve been able to achieve over the last 4 years I know I’ve done some good.I mean, look at Mother Theresa, Nelson Mandela and right now Elon Musk. They’ve really been showing us that yes, a single individual can really have a huge impact on the world, and never think that you can’t be that individual.Don’t forget to follow them on Instagram: @RevEnVert

Allergies, digestive issues, fatigue, stress. Unfortunately, these are all terms that are becoming more and more common in today's world. In my talk with model and integrative nutrition health coach Sandrina Bencomo, we put some light on these commonalities and highlight how that doesn't have to be your destiny, and that you have the power in your hands to decide the life you want to live.
Is it normal to feel tired after we eat, or is that's just a reality we've accepted? A reality we can change? And how can we connect with our bodies and become each other's best friend? Sandrina shares some of her valuable coaching advice and teaches us how there's, for example, no such thing as a bad craving.
Sandrina Bencomo is a beautiful person from the inside out with her roots from Venezuela. She’s a model with Elite Models in New York and she’s also a certified nutrition and health coach. She started her own journey to integrative health when she struggled with a bunch of different things she couldn't find help for. In today’s girl talk with life philosopher, TEDx Speaker, and total babe Kerrin Smith, we talk about everything the Universe has brought to our attention right now. We also discuss the meaning of the word empathy, and how it’s so different to rebel against something bad opposed to standing for something good, even though the underlying cause may be the same.
