Have you encountered or been the “ if I were you" friend? the person that almost always lets you know what they would do if they were in your shoes even if you didn’t ask them for their perspective. Or the person who might feel the need to comment or give their opinion on how to handle it, even though they have never been in this specific type of scenario before. This is called giving unsolicited advice and is defined as the practice of sharing your opinion, guidance, or recommendation when no one asked for it. In this season three finale episode Lonnie explores the reasons for and ways to prevent giving unsolicited advice.

To not think of anything else but what is currently happening.
To forget about the past and not obsess about the future and to really be present with what is happening in your life at any particular moment?

How can masculinity be hurtful? Here are some examples, rape culture, the idea that men own women's bodies, telling young boys not to cry or express their feelings, some men are validated in society when they meet the standard of a real man and men who do not fit the mold are marginalized and the list goes on an on. In the social sciences toxic masculinity refers to traditional cultural masculine norms that can be harmful to society. On todays episode I discuss my complicated relationship with masculinity and share my definition of what a man is. My Name is Lonnie Woods The Third and This Is What I Did Wrong.

The definition of silence is the complete absence of sound. Growing up in Baltimore City silence was foreign. Living in the city there were always sirens, people talking, cars passing by...there were always sounds. For a long time noise brought me comfort, it reminded me of home and made me feel connected. Once I discovered the power of silence I began to assess my relationship with noise. In this episode I share the benefits I have gained by turning the volume of life all the way down to zero in order to find clarity. For a long time, I described myself as the type of person that went with the flow. The statement “ go with the flow” for me meant that I was easy-going, fluid and adaptable. For me, it meant that I wasn’t too tightly wound and that I was open to experiencing new things as they came. It meant that I was fun, easy to be around and spontaneous. And that is how I wanted others to perceive me. But is going with the flow always a good thing? In this episode, I share my thoughts on this popular phrase.
