We hear it all the time having a solid morning routine is important. It helps set the mood and direction for the day. Today I share what I do in the morning. Now while it may change a little based on the schedules of my kids and husband I do work hard at keeping some level of consistency with this list. I'd love to hear the things you incorporate into your morning routine if you have one and if not I hope this inspires you to create one because it's not hard at all. Start by adding ONE small thing to your list and see if that works for your life. Good Luck! Wanda

Have you ever given any thought to the HOW's and WHY's of birds nest construction? You're answer is probably NO! I didn't either until I decided to clean up the leaves in my back yard a few weeks ago. Because of the enormity of the leaf piles I looked up at ALL of the trees that were in our back yard and those of the neighbors and spotted 2 birds nest. It got me to thinking about how they were made, what they were made of and why birds build nest. I mean its January and windy and those 2 nests have been there for quite some time. So I Googled this topic and down the rabbit hole I went. Today's episode talks about how to think about what you do and what you want for your life. I hope this episode serves as food for though and ask you to share it and if you're feeling REALLY motivated leave us a review in whatever platform you're using to listen to this.

I was given a challenge to make my newsletters into a video format in addition to a written and podcast one so this week's will sound a bit out of the ordinary, I share about getting over FOMO and doing the thing or things that scare you. Whether it's starting a business, going to the gym, speaking up at a meetings or volunteering at your child's school. Step up and be seen. People need to hear your authentic voice and message. Don't worry and about it being perfect people just want to be motivated by someone who looks and sound like them. And that's the power of connections and of social media

As business owners we all need help, a tribe of people that we can turn to for guidance and support. Depending on who you are and your business you will find this assistance in so may places. When I relocate my photography business from the burbs to the city I found this support in my local business association. I know it's recommended that we all join one but I was floored by the support I received. They were great and they even provided a bit of emotional support that I needed although I don't think they knew it at the time.

I think at one time or another all photographers think about having some type of studio space. Whether it's a small corner of your home where your can provide headshots to a few people or a 6000 square foot warehouse type of space that you divide up into sections for different type of shoots and client meetings. We all have dreams on having space to connect with clients to offer a unique personal experience.
Today's episode I share my FIRST home studio (my son's bedroom) and what I used as backdrops for their photos. There are the key elements on having a successful home studio,
If this IS something you want to do I encourage you to try it, see how it feels and that way you get the feel of it before the huge commitment of a lease. let me know if you have any questions .

This week's episode is a few days late I'm so sorry but you'll get the skinny in next weeks show! We have some amazing news to share. Anyway lucy was is a returning guest this week you can catch her first interview link below. Often people see the new year as a time to hustle and make commitments in their businesses and when the newness of the New Year wears off the tendency is to return to habits that may not serve them or keep them from growing. Having someone who can help guide you and give you some direction is a big help. That's where coaches and mentors come in. Lucy and I talk about that and their role in business in today's episode and how I fared when I hired Lucy as a mentor....
