My name is Melissa & Im a #HotMessSuccess if there ever was one. I’m a girl Mama of 2 married to my best friend just trying to use my voice to help others. A brief discussion of some of my best tried-and-true tips for handling emotional dysregulation in yourself and your children!
While it is commonly associated with symptoms such as hyperactivity, impulsivity, and inattentiveness, many people with ADHD also struggle with emotional dysregulation! This means that they have difficulty managing their emotions and responding appropriately in different situations. They also experience and display emotions more intensely, especially during interpersonal interactions.
In this episode, we talk about several factors that can interfere with neurodivergent eating habits, touching on everything from time blindness, avoidance, productivity, binge eating, getting distracted, and healthy habits and routines!
In this episode we take a closer look at some of the less obvious symptoms of ADHD, and the damage that they can do even when you can't see them.
In this episode I share my personal history with medication & how it’s affected my life. There's a huge stigma around ADHD meds and it needs to change if we’re ever going to get the help we need! Left untreated, adult ADHD can cause a constellation of serious but non-specific symptoms that, far too often, lead to a misdiagnosis. Getting proper treatment, however, can be a challenge in and of itself. First and foremost, you need to speak up and to be your own best advocate! But it's not always easy to know how to talk to your doctor about these things.
