Your Weekend Show: Recent Episodes

Robert S Biermann

“YOUR WEEKEND SHOW” is the culmination of a dream Bob Biermann had in the mid-1980s when he first realized the world-wide impact of International Shortwave radio. Over the years he has wanted to launch such a program, but the timing was not just right. As the nature of Shortwave has changed in recent decades, a Magazine type show, such as “YOUR WEEKEND SHOW,” fills a definite programming void now, more than ever. During this past week Bob has been sharing his thoughts on how we, as Christians, should quietly separate ourselves from the things of this world, and develop our own media platforms, podcasts, connected community, and answering the call that each of us has for our work in God’s Kingdom. On this episode Bob gives more tangible information on how we prepare for the difficult times ahead, and what is truly important.

Bob opens with the question “What fills your mind?” How much time do we spend with negative news, the filth and lies of the world, “The Daily News,” and Social Media? Probably more than most of us would want to admit. Today, Bob shares some serious thoughts about how to balance our time, and how to be more effective agents of change in a world that seems to have gone insane.

The Friday and Weekend Edition of “Truth to Ponder” Bob welcomes his guest Member of the Australian Parliament, George Christensen. George is both a Christian and a Conservative, so he gets lots of negative press as many Christians and Conservative do. Remember, the Bible warns that Christians will be hated by the world. On this edition Bob and George talk about the same very issues troubling much of the world today from the pandemic to the tech tyranny, suppression of speech, and the powerful billionaire oligarchies that dominate much of the world and technology.

The Friday and Weekend Edition of “Truth to Ponder” is both a dire reminder of the times ahead, but also a message of hope and survival. Christians and Conservatives are now in the sights of those on the left, and a time of unprecedented persecution, oppression, and social de-platforming has already begun.  Bob reminds us of how even Christians can easily get caught in the trap of believing and sharing misinformation and how that misinformation can hurt the cause of truth and the Church. This deception will be used as the excuse to even close bank accounts. On the second half of the program, he shares some thoughts about the future of both using radio and the podcast, plus some incredible opportunity ahead in spite of what is ahead.

The Friday and Weekend Edition of “Truth to Ponder” is both a dire warning and a true message of redemption and hope. On a steady glide path, the entire world is on a collision course with a time of tribulation and judgement that can’t be escaped. World leaders are being blinded by power and corruption and daily mock and test a Holy and Righteous God. Is the church ready? On the second part of the program, Bob shares a true story of hope and redemption that will be an encouragement for you, regardless of you circumstances. God will take care of His people, if we fully yield and trust Him in every way.

One thing is clear, politics will never be the Savior of Mankind. We have seen politicians lie, be duplicitous, and placed their political objectives over the people they are supposed to serve. We have also learned that people of faith are increasingly being marginalized. Bob explores how we prepare, and how we fulfill our calling in Christ in this increasingly hostile world.

What a week this past week has been. Perhaps it’s time for something a bit more useful and even a bit uplifting. Last Weekend Bob was in Lubbuck, Texas to visit a church. As many listeners know, Bob is also in Ordain Ministry, as serves as a Bishop in the Reformed Anglican Church (http://racus.org). Bob traveled to receive a new church into the Reformed Anglican Church, Christ Church in Lubbuck, TX. As a part of that trip, Bob was a guest on a local radio program aired on the local News Talk Station, KFYO AM 790 and 95.1 FM. The  Program is called "Reason, Religion, and Reality" and airs from Noon until 2 PM local time. Bob was a guest in the second hour, and for this weekend, Bob would like to share some highlights from his guest appearance.

Today Bob brings a program of hope in a very confused world. This past year has changed not only the country, but our entire world. Will we ever be the same? The program starts with a memory from 5 years ago this very weekend, when the program originated from the Caribbean nation of St. Kitts and Nevis. Bob shares a missed opportunity. He then welcomes his close friend, the Rt. Rev. Ian Anderson.  Bishop Anderson is a fellow clergyman with Bob in the Reformed Anglican Church. The two of them discuss the division in our nation and even in our churches and reminds us of the vital part the church has played in the United States for freedom. We believe you will find this program inspiring and helpful in these unusual times.

The events of this past Wednesday in Washington, DC (January 6, 2021) shocked and amazed many people in the United States and the World. How could this happen? Was any of this staged or planned? How could something that was meant for good go so wrong? It may take months to ever find out, or we may never find out at all. For many Christians, they feel that hope is now gone; but is it?  For years, Bob Biermann has been warning Christians to prepare for a vastly different time. The truth is Social Media will now clamp down on both Conservative and Christian content. True Christians will be increasingly distrusted and pressured, and finally will learn you can’t change the world at the ballot box, as the ballot box is a mere reflection of our culture and corruption. This is one of the reasons that the Program “Truth to Ponder” is aired on Shortwave Radio, as the big tech platforms will be increasingly hostile to the message. Bob welcomes his guest, John Tayloe, the president of Voice of Hope Radio Ministry.

Since the beginning of the Pandemic, we have been hearing all types of “numbers” in regard to the Corona Virus. From infections to cases to deaths, the media has done their best to keep you in fear, but why? It seems that every time that “positive” statistics come out that go against the “fear” narrative, those stories, from reputable and distinguished institutions and sources, get pulled down by social media and even ignored by mainstream news outlets. Bob digs into some numbers that are real and can be found for you to review. It is a true eye opener.

Many people are deeply concerned about this worldwide pandemic. They are often fearful of what the future holds for them and their loved ones. Sadly, there are many that will fear the pandemic than they fear God. The Bible teaches that the “fear of God” is the beginning of Wisdom and of Understanding. On this edition of the program, Bob shares his thoughts about not being deceived or taken advantage of, but most important, to find hope in these very troubled times.

There was a time that radio made a huge impact on our world and our lives. Even though radio still commands a large audience globally, things have changed over this past half century or more. AM Radio is now celebrating around 100 years of service. Along with AM and FM radio, Shortwave Radio, in use for at least 90 years, has a unique place in history and even today. For decades shortwave radio was the link to many oppressed nations, and a way to communicate to a world-wide audience. On this program Bob welcomes Dan Robinson. Dan was with the Voice of America for 34 years, with 4 years as the Whitehouse Correspondent. Dan shares some of his memories and his thoughts about International Radio.

In his spiritual journey he has travelled the gamut of Christian Churches and landed as an Anglican Priest and Vice President of Chaplaincy in a Retirement Community for the past 13 years. He has studied Illness, suffering death, and dying in early Church history and how to minister to the Image of God in man effectively. In addition, he is a Certified Bio Ethicist and Grief Specialist. He is the proud father of 6 children, husband to a wonderful wife, lover of rare old books and as a hobby, loves to rebind/fix books. 2020 is like no other year most alive today have ever seen. The last group in the United States to see anything even close to this would be the “Greatest Generation” who were raised in the Depression and faced World War Two. The fear and anxiety felt by so many is causing many people to be depressed, angry, and scared. People who normally are “Happy-Go-Lucky” now have an un-optimistic outlook on life. Will life ever get back to normal? Will this Pandemic ever be fully behind us? Is there even any hope?

This weekend Bob shares some thoughts on the world of today, and where much of this may be heading. Bob shares more about the new 5 day per week radio show and Podcast starting on Monday, August 31st. The new program, “Truth to Ponder” will be a voice of hope in a troubled time. It will be available as a Podcast, and on several different shortwave frequencies. You can find out more about the new program from the shows “almost complete” website at http://truth2ponder.com. First, wearing a face covering was totally unnecessary, then it became a symbol of “we are in this together,” now it is the only way to stop the spread---until there is a vaccine. Which is it? Since the beginning of this pandemic we have been moving the goal posts all over the field. There is an “official narrative” that you must believe, or you are silenced. The Tech Tyrants such as Google, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and others demand you to fall in line with the “party line” or be silenced, shadow banned, or banished.

The truth is this is NOT the first “Novel Coronavirus.” In 2003 and part of 2004 there was a SARS-CoV virus that spread from China to 30 countries in the world. What was different then compared to SARS-CoV-2 today? What did we learn from the first SARS-CoV? We learned much, and now those in charge are willfully ignoring the incredible amount of information, research, and data that was documented about the spread and control of this strain of virus. Can you guess what was concluded to be an effective preventative and treatment?

Bob shares from these official archived sources that you can find for yourself. There is something about this virus that has worldwide political implications and forced changes on our lives and conversations. Also, on the program Bob Shares the news about the new weekday show coming on Monday August 10th.

If you share the wrong “political” thing on Facebook™, post a video that goes against the Leftist narrative on YouTube™, or say the wrong “un-woke” thing on Twitter™, you will be censored, shadow banned, and even banished. The gargantuan tech tyrants are now crushing conservative and Christian speech on an ever-increasing basis. The concept of the “Open Marketplace of Ideas” is totally dead on the monopoly-controlled Internet Sites. How did this happen, and how do we find a way to keep a factual and truthful message flowing?

For too long people have moved their lives, their jobs, their political thoughts, and even their faith to platforms like Facebook Live and YouTube. Now that they have walked away from traditional platforms like Radio, they are now under the “Lordship” of the Googles and Facebooks of this world. In this world where these tech monsters consider people of faith second class citizens, and those that might challenge anything you are told by the mainstream media about the Coronavirus, you are labeled as either a wacko conspiracy theorist, or a medical quack. Daily, videos and posts are taken down.

For over 5 years “Your Weekend Show” has been airing on International Shortwave, and even as a Podcast. Program Host, Bob Biermann, has been deeply concerned about this trend, and has decided to launch a daily program to air on Shortwave Radio, and if able without censorship, even as a Podcast. We truly live in a perilous time, where your constitutional freedoms can be taken by a Governor’s proclamation, and your speech inhibited by tech giants. Make no mistake, it is about an election, and the control of YOUR life, and even your thoughts.

This weekend Bob takes on two issues with two close friends. On the first half of the program we look at this strange world in which we live, and how in less than half a year’s time our economy has been tanked, neighbor has turned against neighbor over wearing a face covering in a public place, protests a riots have left major US cities charred and vandalized, and the mental well-being of many has been placed in jeopardy. Was all the response to the pandemic worth the price? Did we really save lives? And can the “numbers” even be trusted. Bob welcomes to the program Jim Shaw, who is both a “self-made” man, but also has answered a far higher calling in sharing some good news in these strange times.

On the second half of the program, Bob welcomes another friend, Peter Gnass, who is a former professor of Economics at the University of South Carolina, but walked away as what the Universities today espouse is a corrupt Keynesian economic scheme, based on massive debt. Peter explains what this debt really means, and what to expect going forward.

There is still time to hear this past weekend’s show. It’s important to understand the deception within our own media!

When the United States was founded, the concept of a free press, which has evolved to today’s electronic, print, and online media was considered “sacrosanct” by the founding fathers. They believed that an independent and honest press would be the balance needed to keep government honest and looking out for the best interests of our nation and her people.

Now, over two centuries later, we find that much of our media is both corporate owned, and highly partisan. The concept of a truly independent media is dead, and most of the large mainstream media outlets have turned into nothing more than propaganda apparatus for the forces that want to destroy American history, culture, and individual freedom. On this weekend’s show, Bob talks about the decay of the press, and brings on Frank Salvato of the Underground USA Podcast to talk about the complicit mainstream media.

On the second half of the show, Bob takes a few minutes to expose how the headlines you see in the news have a planned theme to control the conversation. He also shares something from two years ago, that is almost a prophetic message.

Obviously the COVID-19 Pandemic is always front and center in the news. It seems everyday the bankrupt media looks for the most horrifying headlines to strike fear into the public. Are the numbers that shocking? Is the “real” infection rate massively increasing? How about the death rate, is it too rising? Truthfully, the daily number of deaths nationwide has been steadily falling since April, though with massive increased testing the number of positive tests is higher. Bob digs into those numbers and sorts the numbers out.

On the second half of the program Bob welcomes Don Neuen and Donna Fiducia to the program. Donna is a former Fox News Anchor, and New York City radio personality, and with her husband, Don, produce the program “Cowboy Logic Radio Show.” This segment exposes some of the media distortion that bombards our homes each day and sheds the light of factual truth to all the hype. You can find out more about Cowboy Logic Radio at http://cowboylogic.us.

This weekend Bob takes a break from all the stressful news impacting our world today. From the worldwide pandemic to the protests in the United States, Bob takes us on a musical journey of summer times from long ago. He shares some of his childhood memories of being at the beach at his grandparent’s house, and the fun, the responsibilities, and the music that shaped many of his memories. If you are of the baby boom generation, you will probably remember. Even though there were “difficult times” in the 1960s and even the 1970s, people seemed more able to face the challenges, plus we were not bombarded by 24/7 news and social media. So, for this 4th of July weekend, take a musical journey to a far simpler time.

Whether it is the protests occurring thought the United States, the worldwide pandemic, or politics, many people are no longer giving the media their trust. Year after year, and poll by poll, Americans, Canadians, and other people throughout the western world, are losing their faith and trust in their media and most major news outlets. For the major players in the United States, such as ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, and many major newspapers, their market share is declining on a steady annual basis.

The founding fathers of the United States thought the media should have special constitutional protection to be the watchdog to have honest and open government. Today, the media is becoming the message. Bob opens the program with his thoughts on these major topics in our news, and how the media has used and often distorted these events. Bob also welcomes Frank Salvato to the program with a segment entitled “The Media & First Amendment Protection: Abuse of Power.” Frank is also the host of The Underground Podcast. (https://www.undergroundusa.com)

On the second segment of the program, Bob welcomes Bob Parks from Black and Blonde Media, for a very different segment. Instead of talking the issues of the day, the two Bobs talk about music, and a music project that Bob Parks is investing a goodly amount of his time. You can even hear some of the music that Bob Parks has composed. It makes a nice diversion from today’s depressing headlines.

This weekend Bob covers 2 topics for the program. First, it seems that many people, because of the Internet, become “experts” on many topics. While the Internet has a vast wealth of information and knowledge, it also has a large volume of “misinformation” and fake news. Often people only hear what they want to hear, or they lack the ability to fully reason and think for themselves. They can easily be manipulated and controlled. Bob gives some examples on how legitimate facts can be used to control a modified narrative. On the second half of the program Bob looks back into history on those that controlled the news, arts, information, and entertainment, and as a result brought forth a time of misery, war, destruction, and death.

For five years Bob Biermann has been producing “Your Weekend Show” each week. Started in March of 2015, the program was launched as a weekly “radio magazine” primarily for an International Shortwave Radio audience. Over time, the show moved into a weekly “themed format,” dealing generally with a life issue, shared life experience, memories of times past, and where we can find hope when things are uncertain. Those were the core values of the program, and always will be, however, after five years it is time to take a hard look on the changes in the audience, and better using additional technology.

This weekend Bob launches a new version of “Your Weekend Show-The Magazine.” This program will feature a number of guests that produce podcasts, and some new talent that will be launching a podcast soon. On this weekend Bob welcomes Frank Salvato, the producer of the “Underground USA” podcast. Frank will share his thoughts on the unrest in our nation. On the second half of the program, Bob welcomes back his good friend Bob Parks of Black and Blonde Media, with his take on the politics of the COVID-19, and the impact of our current civil unrest.

Those were the core values of the program, and always will be, however, after five years it is time to take a hard look on the changes in the audience, and better using additional technology.

Since the fall of 2019, Bob has wrestled with how to keep this program alive, keep it relevant, and how to expand to a larger and more informative and helpful program. In addition, how best to find additional outlets for the program. In the past year, the program has been growing as a podcast on many popular platforms.

After much prayer and talking it over with many of his close broadcasting friends, Bob has decided to make some changes in this program and return to the original concept of a “Radio Magazine.” To accomplish this, Bob has reached out to several people he has known in the broadcast and news industry, who Bob believes have quality content and commentary that needs to be heard.

This weekend Bob winds up yet another chapter of “Your Weekend Show,” while preparing to add some incredibly talented and knowledgeable additional voices to the program on the first weekend in June. For this week, enjoy some memories and forgotten songs, and a preview of things to come.

During these past few months, the terms “essential” and “non-essential” have been a rallying cry, and a source of pain and suffering for many. Faceless bureaucrats, elected politicians, and health officials (All of whom are considered essential and getting their full paycheck and benefits!) Have decided who can make a living, and who should lose their jobs, their life savings, and their businesses. When this is over, many may even lose their homes. All these mandates were made while claiming it is “for your safety” though millions of families are being ruined.

Bob takes this weekend’s program to look at the facts as we see them coming together now, and wonders if the cure will be more devastating than the disease we claim to be fighting. While many can survive these government lockdowns, shutdowns, and furloughs, many people simply cannot, and will not. Many will face financial ruin, substance abuse from depression, along with broken homes and shattered hopes dreams. In time it is inevitable that suicide will spike. Are these people lives and livelihoods less important than a politician? Do these hurting people’s lives even matter to the politicians and bureaucrats? Even more despicable, are some politicians using this “Pandemic” more as a “Plan-demic” for political gain at people’s expense?

Bob analyses where we are today and starts a series on what we must do next to survive. Remember, to God, all His children are “essential.”

As the world adapts to where we have been, and where we may need to be, the most important question is “Who do you trust?” It is obvious the “experts” got more wrong than right in recent months. Talking heads on TV and social media, with an agenda, worked hard to push panic and fear, dwelling ONLY on the negative, hoping (breathlessly) you will buy in to their hype.

Our world and nation will take more time to heal from this pandemic, and not from the virus itself, but the fear, uncertainty, and economic devastation left in its wake. Many people will be scared for life. For those that take the words of Jesus as seriously as they claim, why do so many live with constant crippling fear, when Jesus says, “Fear Not?”

While our nation and world look for a “restart,” maybe it is time to restart your relationship with the one you can always trust, Jesus Christ.

This worldwide pandemic has taken more than just an economic toll on many families and small businesses. The fear of a virus (that never lived up to its hype) has caused many in this nation to be thrown into a state of paralyzing fear. There are people that may literally acquire the physiological prison of agoraphobia, the fear of leaving home, or slide into a deep depression. Ruined businesses may bankrupt young families and destroy many homes and marriages. The uptick of addition during this time will be a hefty price to pay.

Many Churches, living in their 4 walls, discovered what it means when you cannot gather. Many were totally unprepared for such a reality as this and may never recover. Even young children may have fears going forward.

On this weekend’s show Bob puts these long weeks of the pandemic into perspective, and reminds us of the fragility of our lives and livelihoods, and how easy it is to be herded into the two groups of “essential,” and “non-essential.” How do we learn, grow, prepare, and overcome this, and move into the future? Bob shares his thoughts and where we can find true hope on this weekend’s show.

Last weekend Bob shared his thoughts about the actual realities of COVID-19. As of this weekend, most of the dire predictions made 6 weeks ago have not happened. New information seems to dribble out each day questioning some of what many state and local governments imposed. Were our efforts effective? Did we need to disrupt our lives and livelihoods as we have for the many weeks?  The big question, what role have politics played in our response?

This weekend on the first half of the show, Bob shares some information, and a ray of hope in these stressful times. On the second half of the program, Bob welcomes as his Guest, Bob Parks, who operates the “Black and Blonde Media” website (https://www.blackandblondemedia.com). Both Bobs share their thoughts about this pandemic, and what positive things have we done, and what risks of this pandemic being used as a “power-grab,” or for other political and social purposes.  Be sure to visit our new website at http://yourweekendshow.com.

For weeks now, we have heard more than we ever wanted to about Viruses, Pandemics, Mortality Rates, Social Distancing, and our nation in a virtual shutdown. People are now “protesting” many of the draconian “Stay at Home” orders in effect in many states. The TV talking heads are breathless in sharing each and every Covid-19 death, News Sites tally the daily infection rate. Fear of our own mortality drives people into depression, fear, anxiety. Will we ever be “normal” again? Was this Corona Virus all it was claimed to be? Was every recorded death really Covid-19?

On this weekend’s program, Bob looks at the politics and fear of this novel virus, and its implications for years to come. Bob shares his thoughts from the benefit of having spent the past 5 weeks working in an Emergency Operations Center that is in the front-line fight and response to Covid-19. We believe you will find enlightenment, comfort, and information.

The Corona Virus is now on everyone’s mind - literally worldwide. From travel restrictions, to stores limiting their hours, schools closing, and so much more, people are troubled, worried, and often confused. We hear it’s not that deadly, but why are some states in the United States closing restaurants and canceling events? Are we not being told something, or is this some type of event to change the world order? Frankly no one knows. Bob ponders this, but also shares some hopeful information you need. This weekend Bob shares his thoughts about "Living in the Past." Many of us, as we get older, have fond memories of the way things "were," but sometimes forget what they were really like. In addition, we sometimes take for granted how changes in our science, medicine, and technology have often influenced and dramatically changed our lives. What was "cutting edge" in 1969 may seem antiquated on a closer look today, just like when in 1969 people looked at the technology of 1920. Are we living in the past? Or learning from the past? There is a difference.

For the next month or so, Bob and his wife, Lori, will be at their Florida home, and where this broadcast will originate through March, and possibly into mid or late April.

This weekend's Program picks up on the theme of the past two weekends, our dying heritage, faith, and culture, and how it is impacting our world today. This is an important show to hear as we are living in a time of cultural war, political correctness gone insane, and lies being accepted as truth. Picking up on last weekend’s theme of our cultural degeneration, Bob talks about how many (so called) churches have been absent from the cultural and moral battle, and have actually surrendered and abdicated her God given role. The truth is many mainline churches are dying off, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Other churches, in an effort to keep “growing” are looking more like worldly Rock concerts than places of worship. Other churches are just not sure of how to share and relate the Good News in this rapidly changing world.

This weekend Bob takes a hard look at our world in our time. Never have we seen so much “strangeness” being touted as “normal.” Things that just 10 years ago would seem odd are being mainstreamed into our lives. The generation of teenage children today in the Western World is starting to come of age, and starting to take their place in this world. How have we prepared them for the realities of life? Many have no core values and value feelings over facts and emotion over truth. This is the generation that was raised “On-Line,” often with limited boundaries.  Will there be a price to pay? Bob examines the dangers of our time on a hard hitting show.

What lens do you use to look at the world around you? To you see the world as it is? Or do you see the world as you would rather see it? One of the fastest declining attributes in our western world is the inability to look at the world with realistic eyes. We are losing with each passing generation, people that even have the ability of “Critical Thinking.” While it’s true that the eyes are “The Window to the Soul,” what we often see in many people are empty and hollow eyes.

Often times we are faced with a huge decision that can have an enormous impact on our lives. Sometimes we are faced with having to make a choice that could end up being a “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity or a distraction from where we should be. It’s a fascinating story of young love, hard work, and adapting. On the second part of the show, he shares some of the current things happening in their lives, as they prepare to head back to their home in Florida, plus Bob shares how 30 years ago he built a radio station in South Carolina, and how that radio station has come back into his life again. In just a few days it will be the year 2020. What a year 2019 was, however, do you remember 20 years ago at celebrating the arrival of the Year 2000? How many of you remember all the excitement, but also all the fear of the “Y2K” computer bug? Bob shares a few thoughts on just how gullible many people were, and how many believed that at midnight jet airliners would fall from the sky, the lights and power would go out, people’s money in the bank would vanish, and our food chain would disappear. Countless people fell victim to all the fakes and frauds who were selling their “Y2K survival” and Y2K “Judgment Day” books. Many of those “prophets” are still selling fear today on the radio and TV. Also on the show, Bob shares his thoughts about the opportunities we have for the year 2020. It’s a very special program you need to hear and share with your family and friends.

For others, perhaps work and responsibilities will make it impossible to be with family and friends. Maybe we have unrealistic expectations, or the family does not appreciate all your efforts. Whatever the reason, many people will be suffering “The Holiday Blues.” This weekend Bob reaches out to a friend of his who is a clinical psychologist to share some thoughts on overcoming those difficult feelings. This weekend Bob shares some important thoughts about the future and direction of “Your Weekend show.” Following on the topic of last weekend’s show, “Time,” Bob wonders if this show is something of real benefit to his listeners, and is producing it (in its current form) a good use of Bob’s time? As the show is nearing its 5th anniversary, is it time to rethink the show, and where and how the show is aired? Bob asks you to share your thoughts with him, as he makes some major decisions in life and ministry for 2020.

There is nothing worse than a missed opportunity. Many times we have regrets that last for many years, and have a deep and often time’s negative impact on our lives. Generally, “procrastination” is the number 1 reason we have regrets, or refusing to get out of our comfort zone. In life, we often have to make decisions, but choosing to ignore those decisions can prove devastating. This weekend Bob talks about how time once spent is gone forever, and why it’s imperative to not miss our “Hour of Visitation” on the important things in our life.

Earlier this past summer, Bob had a program entitled “The Summer of 1969 Through the Eyes of a Teenager.” Of all the programs ever produced in the near 5-year history of the program, it had (by far) the most downloads and listens on podcasts of any other episode. It’s almost hard to believe that it has been 50 years since that historic summer.

Because Bob is traveling on important ministry work this past week and this weekend, he was unable to be able to produce a program for this weekend. Because this program was so well received before, and many that listen by Radio may have missed it, here it is again.

Next weekend Bob has a totally brand new episode and will be sharing some of the new work coming his way, and some thoughts about the direction of this radio show and podcast.

One of the most listened to show of the past five years was on the topic of false prophets and false preachers/teachers. There is no doubt we are living in a different time and age than even 30 to 40 years ago. However, many people still fall victim to bible teachers with an end-time message that sounds fascinating but is often simply not true. In other words, “Fake Prophets Making Big Profits.” What is even more troubling, these individuals are still on radio and TV, selling their books and videos, after being WRONG in the past. Why do people let themselves be deceived?

Bob takes them on again in this weekend’s program. You will hear some of the wrong predictions made by some in just the past few years. You need to share this encore broadcast with your family and friends.

On this weekend’s program, Bob ties together all the programs put together for the Month of October. At the beginning of the month, Bob shared his thoughts about the “religion of climate change,” and how the optics of a young girl from Sweden has captured the hearts of the media and deceived the minds of many. On the second Show of October, Bob talked about how much of what we are seeing in our culture today is nothing more than recycled ancient paganism. On last weekend’s show, Bob shared the story about his birth and adoption, and the value of life. This weekend Bob brings it home for us to understand the world in which we live today. It’s a program you don’t want to miss.

On the first half of this weekend’s show, Bob shares a very true story of young love, heartbreak, and starting all over again.  In this “close to home” narrative, Bob shares how some very unexpected things often are the turning point in our lives.

In the second half of the program, Bob shares why life is so valuable and so precious, and why our life is such a gift not to be wasted. He also shares his thoughts on those forces that try to destroy our lives. This is a really powerful and emotional program you need to share with your family and friends.

This weekend Bob continues his theme on earth-centric worship and its impact on our western world. Many of the thought processes today in education, politics, the environment, and even in many of our faith-based institutions are nothing more than recycled paganism. What impact will this rebirth of the earth and pagan worship have on our society? Bob takes a sobering look at where we are and starts looking at where all this could lead.

This weekend Bob takes on the never-ending political prophets of gloom and doom. During the month of October, Bob is going to be doing a unique set of programs dealing with issues ranging from failed environmental predictions to the dramatic shift in the western world from the Logic and the Judeo Christian ethics, to emotion-based outcome thinking and literal ancient paganism. These four programs may prove to be some of the most controversial “Your Weekend Shows” ever produced. This weekend’s show is entitled “It’s a Hard Day on the Planet,” and looks at over 50 years of missed predictions, questionable motives, and societal bondage.

This weekend’s show is a very special “limited edition.” Due to a glitch in distributing the program last week, last weekend’s show did not air on a number of the International Shortwave stations. If you listened last week online you might remember that Bob was sharing that it had been 15 years since he lost his first wife to cancer. There was a wonderful response from the on-line audience to this program, so Bob thought it would be best to ensure that last weekend’s show aired on those stations that missed the program this weekend. As a result, Bob put together this special program for the “online” and podcast audience to share his thoughts about where this show needs to go, and to find out how best to help you in your daily walk.

Looking back at our grandparent’s time, and how things have changed. In recent weeks Bob has shared the changes we have seen in this world since 1969, which is now 50 years ago. We look back and realize that 1969 was the year man landed on the moon, The Woodstock Music Festival in Upstate New York and so many civilization altering events. But what about those that were old enough in 1969 to remember what life was like 50 years earlier in 1919? For most of today, the idea of what life was like 100 years ago is something hard to fathom. Bob shares his thoughts and some special music. On the final portion of the program he shares a message on what’s truly important in life.

Hurricane Dorian was a very destructive hurricane for the Bahamas, and even caused some damage to the United States coastline. Last weekend it appeared that one of the radio stations that airs the program might be affected. While the storm came close, the station survived.

This week we continue off where we left two weeks ago. Don’t blink, because time moves too quickly, and some of the most important things of life will be missed if you do. He shares a few memories and songs along the way, and reminds us that life is too short to waste on toxic people and things of little value. This weekend also marks the first full week of the month of September, meaning that two-thirds of the year 2019 is now in the history books. Bob concludes this weekend’s show with some of the other musical influences that found their way into the culture in 1969 that are still with us to this day.

This weekend is a very special edition of “Your Weekend Show.” This program was produced on Friday, August, 30, 2019. At the time of the recording of this weekend’s program, Bob and his wife are preparing for the arrival of Hurricane Dorian. This particular storm could pose a major threat for the State of Florida, and also cause serious issues for one of the major radio stations that air the program each week. Though projections have changed daily, the current models show that Dorian could impact Bob and his wife’s home in Florida, but it also may, as it comes inland, impact radio station WRMI.

Because WRMI is located in an extremely rural area north of Okeechobee, Florida high winds could cause long term damage to their antenna field. Also, being located in a rural location could mean a long term power outage, depending on the severity of the storm. Keep those potentially in harm’s way in your prayers, the first responders, and those that will be involved in the cleanup and aftermath. In the event of serious damage at the transmitting facilities in Okeechobee, “Your Weekend Show“could possibly not be heard for a while on WRMI.

The year (and summer) of 1969, through the eyes of a young high school boy, that’s the topic of this weekend’s program. In the summer of 1969, your host was already a high school student. In the summer of 1969, we had seen the moon landing. In the summer of 1969, the Woodstock Festival was held in Upstate New York. Earlier, in January of 1969, Richard Nixon had been inaugurated the 37th President of the United States, on a campaign promise of the "Vietnamization" of the ongoing Vietnam war Southeast Asia. Many young men wondered if they would be drafted, and what the future would look like.

1969 was also the year Children's Television Workshop introduced Sesame Street, and the Federal Communications Commission bans all cigarette advertising on television and radio in the United States.

In the summer of 1969, Bob had completed his first year of High School. Like many young people of that time, he wondered what his place would be in this ever-changing world. On this weekend’s show, we begin a series on the world, just a half-century ago, and how the events of that time still influences us today.

Though almost 5 weeks later than planned, this weekend’s program originates from the beautiful mountains of Northeast Georgia. On the first segment of the program, Bob shares some of the things that were happening that were the cause of their delay in traveling. Bob, who is a native of New York, shares his memories of the first time he ever was in the State of Georgia in 1973, and how many things have changed over these years, yet how many things have stayed the same. Also on the program Bob shares his thoughts about the future and direction of the show. In the final segment of the program he addresses one of his biggest concerns for the church in the Western World, that being the “thin-ness” of so much of what passes for music in the church today, and he shares the soundtrack of an excellent satire on what some of today’s Christian lyrics sound in a dramatic read, by a famous Hollywood actor. It truly is humorous, but thought provoking.

Our lives at a crossroad, and even our world at a crossroad.  This weekend Bob starts the program with an update on some of the things happening in his life in both work and ministry. He shares his thoughts on being at a "threshold of change" in many areas, but he also looks at the major cultural changes that are occurring at an increasingly rapid rate in our world today. So much that is being "normalized" is really nothing more than institutionalized insanity.

On the final part of this weekend's program Bob shares a message he gave almost 15 years ago, when he was the pastor of a church in Sarasota, FL. This message was given shortly after Hurricane Charlie had hit near where Bob was living at the time. It is an encouragement as we face the storms in our lives.

For the past several weeks Bob and his wife have been at their home in Florida. During this time, which is now a little over a month, they attended the memorial service for Bob's son-in-law, conducted an ordination for his church body, and spent a lot of time on radio station work at both the shortwave station (WRMI) and a few other Christian broadcasters in the Port Saint Lucie area of Florida as well.

Their original plans were to be back in Georgia a couple of weeks ago, but these needs have delayed their trip. As a result, this weekend's program is actually a program from one year ago, but is extremely almost "prophetic" in terms of where this radio show needs to change. Next weekend's show will explain more.

Missed opportunity.  How many times have we let opportunity pass us by? Have we ever miss out on something worthwhile, but by the time we decided what to do it was too late? Procrastination is a very negative trait that can be costly.  Bob addresses that on the program this weekend, as he shares his thoughts on missing the "Hour of Your Visitation."

This weekend's program opens with some thoughts on the future of conventional AM, FM and even International Shortwave Radio, along with his thoughts on the trends in Internet radio, and even the growth of Podcasting. The program concludes with his powerful message on not allowing opportunity to pass us by.

This weekend Bob shares a recording of an interview when he was a guest on a radio program on Praise 99.3 FM in Nevis. Nevis is part of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, and is located in the Eastern Caribbean. The interview was recorded from a live program a few weeks ago when Bob was in Venice, Florida and was done by phone. On this program Bob shares his vision for expanded missionary radio. As a side note, "Your Weekend Show" is heard on Praise FM 99.3. You can find out more at http://www.praisefmnevis.com.

About your host:

Bob has been in and around the radio industry since 1971. Starting out as a Top-40 Disc Jockey, he spent the next 9 years on the air, but gradually set his sights on the engineering side of the industry. By 1980, he was the chief engineer of the most powerful FM radio station in the City of Atlanta, GA. Within a few years he took the position of field service technician, plus new product development for a large manufacturer of Radio Transmitters.

Eventually, by the late 1980’s he ended up working for the broadcast ministry of Toccoa Falls College, in Toccoa Falls, Georgia, USA. For the next decade, he worked to improve that radio facility, plus developed a satellite network feeding programming to many radio stations around the United States. The college also acquired a number of radio stations throughout the United States. Over the years he has built numerous radio stations and transmission facilities.

Even though he worked mostly in engineering, he still kept time to be on the air. Bob said that “Being on the air, especially for a place like Toccoa Falls College, is more than providing entertainment; you have the opportunity to change lives.” In the early 1990’s, Bob felt a powerful calling on his life, one he had known since childhood. While still working for Toccoa Falls, he started his studies for the ordained ministry. He was ordained in January 1996 to the ministry.

By 1998, Bob left Georgia for Sarasota, Florida. There he took over as the pastor of a struggling mission church, but also worked part time in radio, both on-air and in engineering. Bob was the host on a local morning show, plus maintained several transmitter facilities for a radio station group in that market.

“YOUR WEEKEND SHOW” is the culmination of a dream Bob had in the mid 1980’s when he first realized the world-wide impact of International Shortwave radio. Over the years he has wanted to launch such a program, but the timing was not just right. As the nature of Shortwave has changed in recent decades, a Magazine type show, such as “YOUR WEEKEND SHOW,” fills a definite programming void now, more than ever.

How has our conversation changed in the past 40 years? It is amazing how we have been herded into what the book by George Orwell, “1984,” called “New-Speak.” In a generation we have added new words to our vocabulary, and literally “deleted” others. “Political Correctness” has invaded (like a conquering army) our schools, our government, our media, and even our social media. What’s even worse, this “New-Speak” of Political Correctness has even crept in like a cancer into many of our faith-based organizations and even a number of once faithful church bodies. It has happened so gradually that many simply did not pay attention. Our young people know no different, as many young people have been raised more by the public schools (and daycare) than by truly engaged parents. Bob begins a series that looks at these and other social changes on this week’s program. It’s a program you need to hear and share.

This weekend Bob continues where he left off last weekend in assessing how we got to the place in our Western World that we are today. We live in a world where right is wrong, and wrong is becoming right. Feelings and emotions replace facts and reason, and if you disagree, you are cut off from the marketplace of ideas. We are told what to think and told we must be categorized in a group. We are increasingly being divided. This series is a must listen to program. We hope that you share this with your family and friends. We would love to hear your comments at bob@yourweekendshow.com.

Where have we improved? And where we’ve have declined as a culture in the western world? Bob shares his thoughts of the unprecedented changes in our world since 1969. Things that no one would ever believe would happen in people’s lifetimes in 1919 happened by 1969. Now, 50 years later we see technology that was only a dream less than 60 years ago. In spite of all our accumulated knowledge, there seems to be a total lack of wisdom dominating the culture.

Today, in 2019, we see things being forced on us to accept, that defy logic, reason, common sense, and even natural law. Bob starts this conversation this week on “Your Weekend Show” Be sure to listen, and encourage your friends to listen as well.

Integrity, honesty, and simply being upfront, that is one of the topics on this weekend’s program. Bob continues with a theme of people that use their position, authority, reputation, or even “ministry” to deceive you, and have you support them. Bob shares some direct dealings with some of the “Holy Ghost Hucksters,” and how they claim to hear from God, but what they are sharing is often anything but from God. There are Ministries littered with unfinished projects, and a history changing directions that you need to learn to avoid. It is urgent you listen and learn.

Bob said that “Being on the air, especially for a place like Toccoa Falls College, is more than providing entertainment; you have the opportunity to change lives.” In the early 1990s, Bob felt a powerful calling on his life, one he had known since childhood. While still working for Toccoa Falls, he started his studies for the ordained ministry. He was ordained in January 1996 to the ministry.

By 1998, Bob left Georgia for Sarasota, Florida. There he took over as the pastor of a struggling mission church, but also worked part-time in radio, both on-air and in engineering. Bob was the host on a local morning show, plus maintained several transmitter facilities for a radio station group in that market.

“YOUR WEEKEND SHOW” is the culmination of a dream Bob had in the mid-1980s when he first realized the world-wide impact of International Shortwave radio. Over the years he has wanted to launch such a program, but the timing was not just right. As the nature of Shortwave has changed in recent decades, a Magazine type show, such as “YOUR WEEKEND SHOW,” fills a definite programming void now, more than ever.

From time to time “Your Weekend Show” has reminded us all about being cautious with many of the so-called “End Time” preachers and ministries. Many have had a dismal record of predictions that never came to pass, alluding to things that were supposed to happen, but didn’t, and many that use gimmicks and scare tactics to keep you supporting them, even when they have been consistently wrong. There is no doubt that understanding the “end times” is important, but we need to stay away from those that after 20 or more years, still get it wrong. Bob talks about some to avoid on this weekend’s show.

Within a few years, he took the position of field service technician, plus new product development for a large manufacturer of Radio Transmitters.

This edition of “Your Weekend Show” originates from the mountains of Northeast Georgia. Bob and his wife arrived a little over a week ago, and last weekend participated in the wedding of his Granddaughter, Kerri, in Toccoa, GA. On this weekend’s show, Bob talks about a few things that are on his mind. First, Bob expresses his concerns on how more and more of today’s young people are having such difficulty in coping with the basics of life, and what has become “lowered expectations.” On the second half of the program, he talks a little about some of the changes he is considering for the show, and he seeks your input on what you would like to hear.
