Happy Resurrection Sunday! We recognize the Resurrection as true history, as credible as any other part of history. Our understanding comes from years of research and unpacking done by the early church and theologians/historians since. And what the gospels claim is that Jesus came as the SOLUTION for all people. He introduced a new way of living and claimed that the source of all life was found in him.
There were many expectations around Jesus and the event that we celebrate as Palm Sunday. Many opinions, desires, and views that people wanted Jesus to fulfill. What were people expecting? What did Jesus come as? And how do we respond to this? Listen to our latest message: The Jesus we may not EXPECT but NEED.
In Part 2 of “The Greatest Commandment” we focus in on the call to love others, as in everyone. And the thing about loving others is we don’t mind when it’s those who are easy to love. But when it’s others who think, act, and behave differently than us? Well…. that’s a different matter. So how do we embrace Jesus’ command to love everyone? That’s the question of this message.
In scripture we see the call of God on individuals throughout. We see the same with Jesus. He called his followers specifically, intentionally, personally. And in the account of the Apostle Paul we see the calling of Jesus with clarity. Looking at Philippians 3 we look at how Paul responds to this call and what it calls us to as followers of Jesus.
How do we love one another sacrificially and with humility as Jesus models and calls us to? How can we ever hope to love others to this extent? Looking at Galatians 5 we consider our need for the Holy Spirit and his presence in our life to help us love one another well.
In some of his last words before going to the cross, Jesus says that his followers would be known by their love for one another. How do we do this? How do we maintain unity even when we’re on different sides in the church? Through the account of Israel crossing the Jordan River found in Joshua 1, we look at three ways that we can keep unity amidst increasing division.
Holding different convictions is a reality in the church. We will hold different opinions in many areas and this has the potential to cause not just cause strife, but division in the church. In order to love one another well and have our love witness to others, we cannot avoid this reality. We dive into this challenging topic by looking at Romans 14 and how scripture calls us to hold our convictions with one another.
1 Peter 2:9-17 asks us in light of what we have received from God and who we have become, how do we live? We look at three areas that are being changed in our lives in light of this incredible work of God in us - our motivation, our response, and our relationships.
In a world experiencing so much division, as Christians we have the opportunity to show the world Jesus through how we respond. We have given the Holy Spirit and the fruit of the Spirit are our guide to how we should act and react to the world around us. This week Gene Enns from Clearwater College specifically looks at love, joy, and peace and how we see this fruit manifested in God.
There are “5 D’s” in our lives that threaten to diminish and weaken our faith. How do we live with BIG FAITH amidst the reality of distress, despair, doubt, distraction, and disillusionment? By looking at examples of each of these in Matthew ‘s gospel we see how Jesus encourages us to live with big faith amidst these days.
When it comes to God’s love, how do we keep it simple? How do we learn to receive God’s love? How do we grow to love God more with every part of ourselves? How do we deal with those things competing for this love? We focus in on the greatest commandment that Jesus gave us in our latest message.
“To Live is Christ, to Die is Gain” We have heard this phrase in church many times before. But in the times we are in it can take on a whole new meaning. We easily get caught up in our personal ideologies and forgot our purpose and why we are here. Listen this week as Pastor Paul takes us through Paul’s life in the book of Acts, his purpose, and what we know to be true.
We conclude the second part of “The Gift of Prayer & Fasting” by focusing on prayer and 3 ways in which it is a gift in our lives - as an extraordinary invitation, as the means to change, and as spiritual nourishment for our lives.
As we continued our time of prayer and fasting as church, this Sunday we looked specifically at fasting and the gift it is as a spiritual discipline in our lives for our spiritual formation - to practice self-denial, to teach us self control, and as a way to feast on Jesus.
Scripture tells us not to despise prophecy but to test it and hold fast to what is good. How do we do welcome God's voice in our lives and be expectant for Him to speak to us? We look at this as we begin our time of prayer & fasting as a church.
As we enter into a New Year filled once again with a fair degree of uncertainty, how can we live in a such a way that deepens our dependance on Jesus and our relationship with Him? Pastor Paul unpacks portions of 1 Timothy 4 to provide some answers to the question, how can we diligently persevere in 2022?
Whatever "This" is right now in our lives. All of it. The situations, circumstances, and experiences we are walking through. Whatever it is, what will it all result in? How can we embrace what God is doing amidst these times? We look at 1 Peter 1 and the questions that are posed to us.
Joy, unspeakable joy. We use the word joy to describe a lot of things in our lives, but this week we discuss the difference between circumstantial happiness and fullness of joy through Jesus.
The coming of Jesus reveals the heart of God and the love that he extends to us. As we continue through this Advent season how can we invite God to prepare our hearts to receive this love and extend it to others?

We conclude our series in the beatitudes with the last beatitude, a double-beatitude of sorts that sees Jesus reiterate the reality of persecution for his followers. Why would Jesus and his followers be persecuted? And why would we embrace this? We contemplate what this means for our lives as followers of Jesus.
As we celebrated Baptism Sunday together it's valuable to ask ourselves why we do this? Why do we get into a tank and get dunked under water as part of our faith? Through the lens of Romans 6 we answer this questions and consider why baptism is such a powerful witness to ourselves and to others.
The peace that Jesus offers us is very different peace from what the world offers us and it calls his followers to be intentional and active as peacemakers for the sake of others. What does this peace look like and what posture does it call us to? We dig into these questions and more as we continue our series The Kingdom Manifesto.
The sixth beatitude, “blessed are the pure in heart” may be the most comforting, compelling but challenging beatitude yet. What does Jesus mean by pure in heart? Is this about perfection? What does the promise that we will see God mean? To wrestle with these words, we look at Psalm 51 and Psalm 139 as we continue our series, “The Kingdom Manifesto”
The word is for merciful in the beatitudes is only used one other time in the New Testament, used to describe Jesus himself in Hebrews 2:17. We are meant to see that Jesus is the very embodiment of mercy. So what does Jesus say is mercy? What does this beatitude reveal? We dig into this as we continue our series "The Kingdom Manifesto".
How do understand Jesus' words that bless those who hunger and thirst for righteousness? What does that word really mean and how are we to apply it to our lives. We uncover what scripture says about this as we continue our series in the beatitudes.
Meekness is weakness. Or something to that effect. We typically don't look at meekness in a positive light. But Jesus says the meek are blessed, in-sync with the way of his kingdom. How do we understand meekness and what does God say in His Word? We look at this disregarded quality as we continue our series in the beatitudes.
We don't talk much about mourning in our lives. We might accept it as an emotion for certain circumstances but we don't embrace it. And yet. Jesus says those who experience grief in their lives are in sync with the kingdom of God. How can this be? In this message, we consider how mourning is evidence that Jesus' way is taking root in our lives.
The beatitudes are 8 qualities that Jesus says will define those who follow his way, starting with those who are poor in spirit. What does it mean to be poor in spirit? Why does Jesus begin with this beatitude? How can we know it we're embracing this in our lives? We dig into these 3 questions as we begin exploring qualities that are part of Jesus' way to subvert the world's way.
What is my identity and what is my purpose? Two questions that our world has a lot to say about and two questions that God has a lot to say about in scripture. We dig into some questions around these topics and seek to bring clarity and truth to our lives.
Jesus came with a provocative message, announcing: “repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” And what Jesus began to teach served as his manifesto, calling individuals to follow his way. What is this call for our lives? We kick off a new series that will take us through the Beatitudes, providing context and shape for what is to come…

In the first of a two part message, Pastor Paul invited us to think deeply on the question: Why Do We Gather? In culture where we can pick and choose from diverse online options, why would we bother with gathering together in a local church? How do we consider this in light of scripture?
Jen Armstrong talks this week about Giving Our Everything to Gain Everything. Through the stories of Mary washing Jesus’ feet and Abraham bringing his only son to be sacrificed, she discussed 4 Characteristics of what it means to bring worship as a sacrifice.
Luke 14 records Jesus telling two parables about a wedding and a great banquet that reveal powerful truth about what it means to follow Jesus and count the cost in our lives. Are we willing to count the cost of discipleship in our lives? What does it mean to live fully surrendered to the way of Jesus?
Within ourselves we have a longing to be authentic; we want consistency between our inner and outer lives. This is the challenge that we all face within ourselves. But is harmony with our inner and outer self the pinnacle of authenticity? Does this satisfy our desire for true authenticity? We look at these questions through the lense of Romans 14 as we seek to follow the way of Jesus.
Doug and Jan have been serving in Mexico for many years. This week they came to LCF to share about how Jesus wastes nothing. How He uses what you have in your hands to feed the 5000 and then still has enough to supply all of your needs as well.

The church in Philadelphia is one of the two churches not to receive a rebuke from Jesus; instead they receive exhortation and encouragement to patient endurance and to hold on to what they have. How does one do this? That's the focus on this podcast.

The church in Thyatira looks pretty good on the outside, even healthy and growing in some respects. But Jesus says they are tolerating things that cannot be ignored any longer. How do we apply this to the church today? We continue looking at the letters to the churches in Revelation.

We tend to skip over the genealogies in scripture; hard to pronounce names and we want to get to the parts with practical application. But we can learn a lot from these lists, how God worked redemption in lives and how he does in ours as well. Guest speaker Gene Enns digs into this and provides great observations from the genealogy in Matthew 1 and how it reveals that Jesus really is the end of the story.
After a week of prayer and fasting Pastor Paul speaks about why we pray, based on Jesus’ teachings in Matthew 6:5-15. Prayer is meant for the secret place as well as corporately with the body of Christ. Listen to hear five reasons for why we pray and a look at how to pray.
There is lots to be stirred up about these days. Lots. But are we stirred up with passion for the things of God? How do we stir up passion for God? Pastor Paul dives into this in conjunction with our time of prayer & fasting as a church.

As we conclude what can be described as a bizarre and challenging year, how do we approach 2021 and the unknown future? How do we live as witnesses to the way of Jesus amidst these days? We ask these questions as we look at who God says we are from Exodus 19 & 1 Peter 2.
Advent is not simply about Jesus’ coming but equally about longing, expectation and waiting with hope for the return of Jesus. There is tension in this. Scripture stirs this longing in us, to keep growing an eternal perspective so that it frames our perspectives in the here and now.
The lead up to Christmas this year is different than anything we’ve ever experienced. But perhaps we have a lot in common with that first Christmas than we think and in this gain perspective on what God is doing.
Through the prophet Ezekiel God promised that he would bring an everlasting covenant of peace for his people. When we grasp the magnitude of this promise in light of Jesus’ coming and what God’s peace means for our lives it radically changes how we live.

Hebrews 2 begins with the word “therefore”, the reminder to pay attention because of the temptation in drift in our faith. Why does this temptation to drift exist? This episode explores the reasons for this danger and how Hebrews 2 pulls us back to safety.
