✍🏼 Key lessons We must allow ourselves to explore the world instead of submitting to the ideas we were taught. We should understand and learn how to crop and select the most important things in life.
💭 Quotes “The way we feel is not really how we feel, it's like we have been programmed to act in a certain way based on what the experience around us is.” “The experience of grieve can be lived in many ways” “We aren’t really understanding how rich life is and how conditioned we are, if we limit ourselves to believe that life is what we were shown and told. It has to be an individual quest it can't be surrendering to what we were told that were supposed to be” “We are continuously being influenced and brainwashed in a way to live our lives according to external effects” “What’s good for me might be very bad for you and vice versa” Life isn’t about being busy, it’s about living

After being awarded a BSc in Business Management from King's College London and having worked as a PricewaterhouseCoopers Strategy consultant for Mergers and Acquisitions in the MENA region, Nazli shifted careers to the special educational needs and disability field. With an MA in Special & Inclusive Education from University College of London, Nazli is a learning support specialist in Cairo American College's elementary school Learning Support Services department and a learning skills development therapist at the Effective Learning Foundation. [35:00] Ending 💭Quotes: “I grew up fully aware of the challenges that a family faces when a member needs special care, and there is not care that can be offered to that person.” “Teamwork is the backbone of any consulting project.” “Special needs and disability are still a massive stigma and that’s because of the lack of awareness and education.” “We hear the word “disability”, and we freak out because we as humans are not comfortable with what we do not know, and it’s all linked to our lack of awareness.” “The general sentiment in the world, in general, is to assume that individuals with disabilities cannot be active members of our society, and we don’t give them as much importance as people that can contribute to our lives, and it’s because we don’t give them a chance to explore what they can and cannot do.”
✍🏼 Key lessons: It’s never too late to change the course of your studies and career. Adaptability is one of the key skills that should be acquired when wanting to make a life-changing decision. People need the proper information to understand what disability and autism mean. We should present people with disabilities with the same chances in everyday life. People with disabilities can be just as active, functional, healthy, and beneficial members of our society. Proper training, infrastructure, and accommodation can help raise awareness and enable children with disabilities in schools.

In case you haven't met this badass of a woman, let me introduce you to Sabah Khodir; a collaborator with the account https://www.instagram.com/assaultpolice/ (@assaultpolice) exposing serial sexual predator, Ahmed Bassam Zaki. In under 7 days, Sabah and the team collected evidence from over 150 people, enough to shine a light on rape culture in Egypt. The collaboration's efforts - over the past 10 days - amended the constitution in https://empower-mag.com/egypt-rising-metoo-movement-changes-constitution/ (Egypt) , protecting women speaking out on their assailants. In 20minutes you'll be able to completely grasp a hold on the issue around rape, shame, consent and the root core of Egypt's sexual harassment crisis. Not only has she built one of the most powerful youth platforms for young women in the country, but she has opened one of the first safe spaces where girls can truly feel at ease in the midst of the raging chaos that may be undermining Egypt's community when it comes to taboo subjects such as sex-ed | relationships | mental health. I'm kicking off Season 2 covering Egypt's historic sexual assault case. In less than one week of the region’s https://empower-mag.com/im-not-the-only-one-he-raped-social-media-exposes-sexual-predator-ahmed-bassem-zaki/ (trending sexual assault case), led by Egyptian youth, the prime minister of Egypt amended the country’s law to provide increased protection for the identities of sexual assault victims. One of the main reasons women do not speak up upon their sexual abuse/assault is due to fear of “damaging” their reputation and facing the consequences of society’s weighted stigma in the aftermath. -- Today I'm incredibly excited to announce Season 2 will be a daily show of 5 to 10 minutes of bitesize information on how current trending world events are directly affecting our mental health. We are living in unprecedented times so this 5minute daily show will help you digest everything around a little easier with no bs. Stay tuned with me via instagram @allysalama and @empathyalwayswins and i'll catch you soon tomorrow.

EP12 | How to Build a Sticky Brand Leading with Empathy & Vulnerability- Listen and Donate The EMPWR FUND https://elneya.org/causes/the-empwr-mental-health-fund/ (here) to help Ally provide adequate mental health resources for Youth in his home nation, Egypt. (In partnership with El Neya Charity) - Jeremy Miller is the president of Sticky Branding. He shows organizations of all sizes how to stand out, attract customers, and grow remarkable brands. He is a globally recognized branding expert, and the bestselling author of Sticky Branding and Brand New Name. His blend of humour, stories, and actionable ideas will inspire you to innovate and grow your business and brand. His path into branding wasn’t traditional. He fell into it out of necessity. After watching his family’s business nearly hit rock bottom, he was forced to take a hard look at the way the company was run and at their industry as a whole. Jeremy realized it wasn’t his sales people or marketing processes that were failing, it was the brand: their customers couldn’t distinguish them from anyone else. This insight caused him to rethink, reposition, and rebrand the business. The strategy worked, and within a year the company turned the corner and rocketed into growth mode. And in 2013 Jeremy sold his family’s business to focus exclusively on what he does today: build brands. - Key Timestamps:[4:00] BNI’s concept of “Givers Gain”. How can we put it into action. In our personal and professional lives.” "All the Empathy Edge means is that Empathy is actually good for business. There’s data. There’s studies and research to show this. Empathy increases innovation, collaboration, it increases in some cases stock price, customer lifetime value, more customer loyalty, more word of mouth and buzz, it creates better performing people on team." "Ultimately, Empathy is not a soft skill to be dismissed. It actually gives you an edge in business.: "With Millennials and Gen Z, they are demanding their workplace to feel like a second home. Top talent is demanding these environments. The companies who don’t listen will die." "Let’s be very clear. Empathy is not being nice. You can’t create an empathetic organization by hiring a bunch of nice people. Empathy is not caving to unreasonable demands. That’s acquiescence. Empathy is a mindset of how you gather information and how you’re able to silence the noice of your own ego in your own head and open yourself up to seeing things from the others' point of view(s)." "Empathy is all about that situational fluency. Adapting in the moment for the person in front of you." "Being curious, practicing presence , listening well. These are all the things you need to consciously force yourself to do if you wanna make room for an empathic lens when leading people. That’s where a lot of business leaders get stuck thinking they’ll be “weak” or a “doormat” when their people are whining." "If you don’t have empathy and compassion for yourself, how can you offer it to others. It’s putting your oxygen mask first before you can help others." "Empathy is the number 1 skill of successful sales people. That is when you are situationally relating to the person infront of you, meeting them where they are and tailoring the conversation to what they care about and around their needs." - Show Credits Empathy Always Wins: The
