‘FPV Drone Racing World Champion 2015’
In episode #11 we talk to local Gold Coaster Chad Nowak (AKA FinalGlideAus) who won a great victory for Australia at the inaugural US National Drone Racing Championships in California, USA in July. This was a very important victory for Chad, as it was widely known as the first international event, and he will go down in history as the World’s First Champion Drone Racer.
Chad not only won the final race, but was 20 seconds ahead of second place, and about one full lap ahead. The competition featured FPV racing (first person view), in which competitors wear goggles to give them a drones-eye perspective, as they clock speeds of more than 60 kilometres per hour.

Terry ‘ Tappa’ Teece – It’s Local Knowledge
Spanning over 40 years as a local surfer and media personality on the Gold Coast, Australia. Burleigh Point local Terry ‘Tappa’ Teece has deep family roots on the Gold Coast, and is best known for his radio and television surf reports, as well as his media commentary over the years – including previously commentating for surf contests at the highest standard as part of the World Championship Tour. Oh and he has been known to tuck into a few mighty kegs from time to time too!
