Heavy! I know, but this is something that needs to be done. in light of everything that has happened with Vanessa Guillen I think its important to try and unpack some of the things that happens in the military with regard to sexual assault. We have to figure out why this is happening, how can we stop it, how to get victims to actively report, how to handle the aftermath of a report. A lot of these are things that are often left by the way side. so in today's episode I talk through this to try and begin a conversation within our work spaces. If you are a victim of sexual assault please reach out to you local victim advocate, Chaplin, and your leadership to begin the process of reporting and completing a rape kit. We discuss the joining process, the pay, the ranking structure, and benefits associated with the joining MSC. We also share our future career plans and goals and whether we plan on staying in the service for life. As with anything do your own personal research before deciding to join any organization.

I thought long and hard about posting this before putting it up, i thought long and hard about editing this before i put it up, i thought long and hard about just saying what's on my mind and leaving it in my archives with the list of other episodes that i have been too chicken to post for fear of hurting people's feelings. There's a lot of emotions happening in the world right now and i wanted to bring something to the table as a place to start conversation about what is going on. That is all i wanted, to start a conversation, because with all the resources that is available to us CEMO, EO, Fleet and Family (Family Support Services), Command Counselors, immediate leadership, and COC, no one is talking about this. It's like they're all waiting for approval from the 4 stars or higher to check in on their sailors, Airmen, Soilders, Marines, and Guards. That is not okay, THIS IS NOT OKAY. SO let's have a conversation about it.
