Our culture has taught us that when something is no longer serving us, when it gets boring or hard or we just donât want it anymore, then we can replace it with a newer, better or more exciting model. Unfortunately this mindset has been applied to our marriages. We have been fed the lie that a relationship that takes investment isnât worth it if we arenât getting all the feels we did at first.
But marriage is so much deeper than that. When we choose to prioritize our relationship with our husband and fight for it to thrive, we can experience a love unlike any other on this earth. In this weekâs episode of the Resilient Podcast, Sabrina Schlesinger shares her insight on what you can do to help your marriage thrive. It is her passion to show women that you can have a marriage that you enjoy, with a sex life you look forward to and a love that lasts.

God is inviting us to know Him more deeply and also to get to know ourselves in light of who He is. So then the question becomes, how do we respond?
These invitations demand a wholehearted response from us if we want to see and experience all that God has. There must be spiritual violence in order to see radical results.
In this episode we discuss what exactly these invitations from God are calling us to and how we can respond to them.

There tends to be a lot of controversy, confusion and even misguidance around the topic of speaking in tongues.
Believers typically have either had no teaching on it or have just been taught that they should do it, without any understanding of why or how.
This is why itâs so important to look at what the Bible tells us about speaking in tongues in order to be able to walk it out in confidence. Letâs go on this journey and ask the questions together.

Breakdowns in relationship happen for many different reasons. Sometimes there are things that weâve done wrong, sometimes issues have been out of our control, and sometimes there is simply miscommunication.

You are allowed to be. You can acknowledge your needs and have them met.
I think that as Christian women we often diminish ourselves to the point of only existing when I believe that God wants us to have life abundant. He wants us to have space to fully BE.
But what does this look like in regards to laying down your life and the full surrender to Jesus that the Bible talks about? I believe we must hold both of these truths in tension. We cannot have one without the other.
Join us for this weekâs episode on The Resilient Podcast to discuss further how we can walk this out.

What does Biblical sexuality look like? How does that work when someone struggles with same sex attraction? How can Christians handle these questions in a way that honors God and loves others, without abandoning the truth of Godâs Word?
I donât know if youâve noticed but... itâs âPride Monthâ. This is a time when the LGBTQ+ community is celebrating sexuality. This has left a large portion of the Christian community unsure of how to navigate sexuality in todayâs culture.
So I invited guest Brenna Blain onto the podcast to sit down and discuss her own journey choosing obedience to Christ while navigating same sex attraction. She helps to answer the questions above as well as so much more. Listen in now.

A crucial part of life in the Spirit are the Gifts of the Spirit. The 9 Gifts (listed in 1 Corinthians 12) empower us as believers to have better insight and understanding, to walk in supernatural power, and to speak out what is in Godâs heart.
These Gifts are meant to strengthen us as believers and minister to those who donât yet know Jesus. But so often we have very little knowledge of what the Bible says about the Gifts. And when we donât understand something, it makes it very difficult to operate in it or have it manifest in our lives.
If youâve ever had questions about the Gifts of the Spirit and how they relate to your own life, Iâd encourage you to give this episode a listen.

Letâs explore these questions as well as much more surrounding the Fruit and Gifts of the Spirit, in this episode and the next.

Mamas! It can be a difficult task to navigate our own emotions, let alone to parent the emotions of our children well. We all deal with emotions, some of us have even been wounded emotionally, and are trying to break that cycle with our own kids. So the question becomes, can we raise our children to have a healthy relationship with their emotions?
In Ep. 37 of The Resilient Podcast, I sat down with, professional counselor, Michelle Nietert, to discuss this very issue. She had so much insight to give regarding helping kidsâ navigate their emotions, no matter what age they are. With practical tools, general concepts and incorporating Jesus, this episode will be incredibly helpful for any mom out there. Give it a listen.

âFor now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.â 1 Corinthians 13:12
Are there areas in your life that you are fighting for things when you only see in part? Are there areas you have tried to control even though you know God sees the whole picture?
Youâre not the only one. Weâve all done this. Tune into this episode for some revelation on this issue in particular.
Can you live holy and set apart without it being motivated by legalism?
I think to answer this question we first need to understand what it means to be holy. We are living in a generation where the world is telling us that we can do whatever we want. That we should live to please ourselves and not be ashamed of it.
In the Church there seems to be 2 extremes with everything in between. On one end of the spectrum there is a culture of anything goes because Jesus is love. While on the other end there is condemnation, leading to a lot of performance as believers.
So then, what is Godâs heart for us when it comes to holiness? Listen now to hear Jamie Lyn Wallnauâs thoughts on it.

None of us are perfect, especially when it comes to trusting God. But we ARE able to build trust with God over time, so that when trials come we do not waver.

Do you have preconceived ideas of what repentance is and what it involves? Maybe you picture a man on the street corner yelling, ârepentâ! Or maybe repentance has been misused as a way of shaming you out of sin or even into salvation. If thatâs the case, Iâm truly sorry. Repentance is actually such restorative process. It is a gift.
True repentance is when we get to the end of ourselves and recognize our need for Jesus. Repentance comes when we have an awareness of our sin, of Godâs holiness and our need for Jesus to reconcile those. It is a rejection of sin and a turning away from what the world offers us.
Finally, it is not harsh criticism or guilt that leads us to healthy repentance. It is the kindness and love of God that draws us into that awareness of our need for Him.
Letâs correct our understanding of repentance together. Join us for Ep. 33 of The Resilient Podcast where we dig in.

Please welcome Tom Cole, our first ever male guest on The Resilient Podcast đđđ. We wanted to get into the topic of TRUE MASCULINITY, but we did not want to speak on behalf of men, we wanted to hear from them. Understanding how God created men can help us to better understand our own femininity. And who better to speak on this issue than Tom Cole.
Tom Cole has a powerful testimony of how God met him in his brokenness and brought him out of homosexuality. Not only that but now he and his wife, Donna, travel all over the world and help people begin the process of inner healing. They partner with the Holy Spirit to help each individual receive healing from past wounds, better understand themselves and the heart of God.
Tom specifically has spent many years helping men find their true identity and understanding what true masculinity looks like in Godâs eyes. We are so blessed to have him on the podcast and are beyond excited to share this interview with you listeners! Check it out!
For more on their story and how to take steps toward inner healing, make sure to check out their book, Pure Heart.

It is often through measures of healing that take place in our hearts that we start to discover who we were always intended to be.
This week on The Resilient Podcast we have the opportunity to continue our conversation with Donna Cole. In this episode she breaks down what makes us women unique in our femininity. Donna talks about how God designed us with different aspects of His character within us as women. When we walk confidently in our identity, we reflect who He is.
She also digs into the topic of inner healing. We were not created to walk alone. We are built for relationship, to be a part of a SISTERHOOD.
Now more than ever itâs become easy to isolate, to fly under the radar and get by doing things alone. But when we live like this we are truly missing out. There is so much to be experienced if we choose to walk together in relationship with other women.
Whether it be with friends, mentors, leaders etc., we can deepen our relationship with Jesus as we grow in sisterhood. BUT... another but... the key is that we have to choose it, we have to invite others into our lives and intentionally walk together.
So how do we do this? Hit play and find out!

What is real revival? What does it look like? How does it involve me and my life?
As Christian women we obviously all agree that revival is good and that we should desire it. But when the topic comes up, we actually know very little about it.
The good thing is that we donât have to be in the dark when it comes to revival. There is so much to be learned from looking at past revivals and seeing how God has moved, how He might move again, and how we can be a part of it.
Tune into this episode on The Resilient Podcast with special guest, Jessi Green. She and her husband are currently leading a revival that is starting to take place in California. We are blessed to have her share some wisdom with us. Tune in!

This podcast episode is a challenge:
A challenge for those of us that are married and/or moms to start to shift the culture for the single ladies in our lives. The culture I am referring to involves this idea that as women we have not arrived or had success in life until we are wives and/or mothers.
It is also a challenge to my single ladies to shift their view of marriage and motherhood. Do not let it be your one and only goal in life. There is so much outside of these two things that God has for you. These seasons are gifts but they are not going to satisfy you much more than your current life does.
Ladies, all of us have to start to make room for women to be celebrated in every season of life. Let us champion others in areas of importance for each and every woman. Letâs shift the culture. Letâs make room for single ladies to feel successful too!

Have you been faithful?
Faithfulness is a key piece of our walk as Christian women. To be faithful means that you will follow through even when things are hard, or boring, or even what we can view as pointless.
God views things so differently than the world does. We can all agree that it is important to be faithful and honor God with major decisions, but to be faithful with the small can be particularly hard for us. To be faithful with the small daily decisions of obedience to Christ are often the most difficult, but to God they are just as valuable.
So I ask again... Have you been faithful? Not just with the âimportantâ but also with the âlittleâ?

There seem to be 2 main extremes when it comes to mental health.
ON ONE HAND, the Church has often shied away from talking about mental health and, instead, communicates that you should just get healing/breakthrough in Christ. This can be harmful and often leaves believers feeling guilty for ânot praying hard enoughâ or not âhaving faithâ to overcome real battles with mental health.
ON THE OTHER HAND, our current culture is telling us that if we struggle anxiety/depression we just need to accept that itâs just the way you are and live with it, simply learning coping mechanisms. This can also be damaging because it can cause us to take on these mental health issues as part of our identity.
In this episode, Caris Snider, a Christian mental health advocate, discusses what it looks like to battle mental health in partnership with Jesus. She recognizes how real anxiety and depression are, while also expressing what freedom in Christ can look like. If you want to be part of this conversation, listen now!

Alright, so the last episode was heavily focused on our role as believers to share our faith as well as dealing with the fear that holds us back.
Now in THIS EPISODE we are getting super practical... I am breaking down the specifics of what to say when presenting the Gospel, as well as how to share your testimony to draw others to Jesus.
The main thing that kept me from evangelizing for most of my life was the fact that I just didnât know WHAT TO SAY! I donât want you to be stopped by the same thing so I made my own tools accessible for you. Give this one a listen!

Did you know that there are 2 main reasons that Christians donât share their faith?
Both of these reasons can be addressed so that we, as Christians, can boldly share the love of Jesus. Evangelism is not just for the pastor or missionary. Each believer is called to minister to those around them. This can be overwhelming to think about but itâs much more simple than we realize.

If thatâs you, just know youâre not alone. Many women long to hear from God but donât feel they have clarity on what He is saying. Thatâs why I sat down with author, Jenny Randle to talk about this specific topic on the Resilient Podcast. Peace is not a far off idea. Peace is a promise from God. But for some reason it rarely seems to come easily. Anxiety, fear and worry all can get in the way of our peace, leaving us feeling powerless.
When we are living in a cycle of fear it can feel like we donât have a choice. It can feel like this is your life and you just have to accept it. Maybe you canât even picture your life without these thoughts and feelings.
But, in fact, we do have a choice. Our thoughts and fears do not have to control us. We can actually control them. And when we choose to make war on fear, we are actually choosing peace.
Does this mean we are perfect? No. Does it mean we never struggle with anxiety? No. But it does mean that we have chosen to fight for peace. And as we fight, God fights on our behalf.
Hit play for an encouraging word on how to fight for peace in your own life!

Is there purpose in motherhood? We live in a fast-paced world where we have been taught a certain way to be successful. But could there be success in the call to mother children? Or is it only self-sacrifice? We have been convinced that this role comes secondary to fulfilling our own needs or chasing after our own dreams. But why does it have to be one or the other? What if motherhood can actually help to shape us into the best version of who God created us to be?
Whether you are a mom, a single woman nervous about having kids, or someone getting ready to start your family this is for you. In this episode special guest Julianna Bevere from Sons & Daughters joins us to crack open some of the most asked questions when it comes to motherhood. You wonât want to miss this one!

Do you feel fully accepted? By God? By those closest to you? Even by yourself?
As women we often struggle to believe that we are fully accepted just as we are. We seem to feel like everything in our lives must be earned. We even translate this into how we view God.
I believe that we struggle with living fully accepted because of a lack of unconditional love. Even the best earthly love is not able to come without any conditions. But God does not love like this. His love for us is not attached in any way to what we do or donât do.
This can be a hard concept to grasp, but understanding it better changes everything. Letâs unpack this together... join me on episode 18 of The Resilient Podcast as we discuss Living Fully Accepted.

Just because you are not married yet does NOT mean that you donât have a sex drive. Our bodies were created to have sex, specifically sex inside of covenant, where we bond together forever. But then how should we approach our sexuality when we are single or in a dating relationship?
In this generation we are seeing so many extremes, and when it comes to talking about sex as Christian women we are seeing the same thing. We have seen the extreme of toxic purity culture as well as the extreme of hookup culture. Neither one of those were Godâs idea. He had something much better in mind when it comes to our sexuality.
Tune into the Resilient Podcast as we sit down with Sloane Wilson, who works for the singleness and dating portion of Moral Revolution. She will walk you through so many topics such as sex, why wait for marriage, how to handle your sex drive, dealing with porn, the role of accountability, and walking out relationships with guys. !!! SEX, SEX, SEX !!!
Ok, so now do I have your attention? Thatâs good because for the next few weeks we are going to be talking all about SEX. Weâll be digging into how God created our sexuality and how to have a healthy view of sex in our current culture.
The sad reality is that culture is bombarding us with so many lies about what sex is meant to be. But at the same time, the Church is typically silent on these issues, leaving us with very few places turn for guidance.
In this episode, I chat with Caitlin Zick, the co- director of Moral Revolution and she shares her own story of fighting for a healthy and exciting sex life with her husband. She also digs into the hookup culture around us and leaves listeners with great resources to help us navigate our God given sex drive. Listen now!

Both my husband and I come from families that have either adopted and/or fostered, so this topic is very near to my heart. I have seen first hand the life-altering effects that adoption can have. It is such a powerful way to express the unconditional love of the Father â¤ď¸
In this episode of The Resilient Podcast, I sit down with, my mother-in-law, Kim Mossman and she shares the details of her familyâs journey though both foster care and adoption. She opens up about the victories and struggles, and gives some advice on what to expect if you are considering this for your own life. Kim also shares some advice that would have helped her if sheâd known it on the front end.

SINGLE AND DATING LADIES... this one is for YOU!!
God is very specific in His direction for your life and He knows the best path for you. God wants to clearly direct your the steps you take in life, and that even applies to your dating and then marriage relationships.
If God cares about what college you go to and where you work, why would He not want to be involved in your singleness, dating and marriage?
One piece of this is having a willing heart to be obedient to His leading. We must all be sensitive to His Spirit and what He is saying.

Marriage is incredible, but it can also be very difficult sometimes. It can push us to our limits and bring us to the end of ourselves. We all deal with different struggles in our personal lives and we often bring those issues into marriage with us. And it can be even more stressful knowing how to navigating those struggles together.

My husband, Clarke, and I could not be more different. Starting off our marriage almost 5 years ago, I wish I would have had tools like the Enneagram to better understand him and even myself.
Our relationship was a struggle until we could start to see where the other person was coming from, why they did things a certain way, and what made them who they were. Once we started to embrace our differences we were able to celebrate those things and allow our differences to make us better.
This is the case, not only in marriage, but in all relationships. We canât just tolerate what makes us unique. We have to champion those things in each other. And as we do that, we allow ourselves and others to be who God created us to be.
One tool that has majorly helped me to see people through that lens is the Enneagram. So in this episode, my husband, Clarke and I dig into our relationship, our enneagram numbers and how we reconciled what made us so different. Join us for some laughs!

Unpopular Opinion: Surrendering our lives to Jesus is actually one of the best forms of self-care out there
In our culture, we have been fed the lie that if you chase a perfect life, get everything you want and make sure your every need is met, you will be satisfied. Now, donât get me wrong, I am not saying there isnât a time and place for self-care. In fact, I am an advocate for making sure you are healthy and doing what it takes to get there. But I also believe that we need to approach this topic with caution. We need to first see what God says about our lives.
When looking at the Bible, it is very clear that God asks His children to deny themselves, to lose their lives, and to surrender everything to Him. The good news is that He actually surrendered His life for us first AND He has our best in mind.
So what does self-care and the focus on self look like in context of surrendering to Jesus? Well, letâs talk about it. Tune into Episode 11 of the Resilient Podcast - Surrender as Self-Care.

I have a question for you...
Do you know the love of God? Like really know His love? Not just know about it or have heard that He loves you, but know His love in a real and personal way. Have you experienced what Godâs love is like?
Knowing Godâs love changes everything. God is love at the very core of His character and He created us for love. To love Him and be loved by Him. As we grasp this love more and more, we are able to receive it more freely, live in deeper relationship with God and walk in our true identity as His daughters.

The past several months has shone a light on major injustice that has been taking place for a really long time. It is important that we, as believers, face the reality that racism is still prevalent in our society and systems. I have seen that many women and men truly want to understand this better and help in making this right, but donât know where to start, what to say, or how to address this issue.
This is why I sat down, with my friend Tara Hollingsworth, an advocate for racial justice who is also a strong believer and a pastor. In this episode, she clearly communicates some of the most important things you need to know when joining the conversation on racism. She explains some of the terms that you have been hearing such as systemic racism, gentrification, red lining, etc. Tara also answered questions like, what does racism look like on a daily basis, and what can be done to fight against racism?
Tara not only shared some of the basics on these major issues, but also left us with many resources so we can continue this process of understanding better. Make sure to check them out below after you listen!

In episode 7 we jump right back in where we left off - potty training đ˝ WOOHOO đ Then we transition into topics such as how to empower your child to make the right choices, and how to know if they understand.
Your children are going to be making choices all throughout their lives. And the tough reality is that you wonât be able to control their choices forever. Maybe when theyâre in your own home, but eventually they will be on their own đĄ. This is why itâs incredibly important to not just tell your children what to do, but to actually EMPOWER them to make the best decisions.

Hey Mama! This one is for you. We all want to raise our sweet babies into happy kids, responsible teens and healthy adults. But what does it take to make that happen?
Since love is a given, here are a few other important keys:
Cassie Goosen is a mom of 5, who studied early childhood development, taught preschool and was a childrenâs pastor, so she has loads of experience to share. She and I sit down in this episode, cover these 4 keys and answer many of the questions that moms of little kids are often asking.
Cassieâs wisdom gave me loads of direction in how to guide and discipline my almost 2 year old and I am so grateful to have gotten this info several months ago. You seriously do not want to miss this episode.

Now, possibly more than ever we are needing to press on through pain and struggles. It can be easy for us to start to question why God allows us to walk through these trials.
I definitely donât have all the answers, but I do know that God will give purpose to our pain if we allow Him to. Heâs a good Father that wants good things for His children. And as we trust Him and start to shift our perspective to see how He sees, it changes everything. This is especially true in how we approach perseverance.

What does it take to build a healthy marriage? What do you need to know about a person on the front end? How do you evolve along the way? What are some healthy patterns to establish? What role do feelings play in it all? A handful of questions that we all wrestle with, whether we are in the nitty gritty of strengthening a marriage, just starting to establish a new marriage, or preparing to be married one day. Join me and Julianna Bevere as we discuss these questions along with many others.
Julianna Bevere was married at 19 years old. Getting married so young in this day and age often comes with a bad connotation. A lot of young people today have fear of getting married or are hesitant to make such a large commitment. In this podcast Juli opens up about what it was really like getting married young. Hearing God speak to us is one of the most life-changing experiences. His words are powerful, piercing and full of love. Sadly, many believers donât feel like they can hear Godâs voice, or just donât know what His voice would sound like. If thatâs you, I can totally relate. I struggled with this for most of my life. But the Bible promises us, as children of God, that we can hear His voice and that He even longs to speak to us. So what are we missing? Join me as I share some tools that have totally changed my understanding of how to hear Godâs voice.

Singleness seems to be such a waiting game. Waiting for your man to come along, waiting to become a mama, waiting for your life to start. But it doesnât have to be that way!! In this episode I sit down with my first guest, Emily Cole, to talk about life as a single woman. She shares what she has learned by chasing her passions instead of waiting around. Join us as we unpack a bit of Godâs heart for the single years.
Emily Cole has a deep desire to see people walk in wholeness. She has expressed this in many different ways throughout her life from ministry, to family and friends and especially through her music. She has several albums out there for you to check out, and she even recently had a stint on American Idol. We are excited to have her share some wisdom with us on The Resilient Podcast!
