In today's sports world, injuries seem to occur more than ever. In this episode, Junior Stephen Avara and Senior Harry Kennedy talk about Gordon Hayward. A once seemingly promising role player joined the Celtics with the hope of a possible championship run. These hopes ended almost right when it started as a gruesome ankle injury in his first game with the Celtics has taken a toll on his development as a player.

With guest appearances from Jake Gilless and Mr. Harris, we discussed our personal opinions on the hair policy as well as some common situations, arguments, and questions regarding the policy. With the combination of our thoughts and experiences regarding the hair policy, I think this podcast will answer a lot of questions students may have about this policy.

In the second episode of the Gael Controversy Podcast, I, along with Mario Ziegenhein and Mrs. Mary Abdo, talk about the jacket policy. The jacket policy states that students are not allowed to wear jackets during class but we are allowed to wear them when we are transitioning to a different class. We talked about our thoughts on the policy, why we think the policy is the way it is and we proposed some possible alternatives and solutions to satisfy both the student population and the administration. The solution that we all agreed on was that students should be able wear their jackets until prayer before each class, just to give them a few extra minutes and so that they don’t feel pressured to take it off before they enter the classroom.

Oftentimes, both have to work together to create a good one, but there are exceptions when a story can be made worthwhile by relying solely on facts, or on the general basis of facts but based on fiction. Such an example is the Battle of Thermopylae, a legendary tale of a last stand, or was it really a last stand?

"Gael Controversy" is a series of podcasts where I discuss certain controversial topics at MSJ. There are some things at MSJ that the administration likes that the students don’t and/or vice versa. For example, many students have their disagreements about the cell phone policy. However, the administration seems to like the policy and don’t plan on changing it. I made it my job to get both perspectives on this topic and explain to both sides what the other has to say. I hope that this series would bring serious awareness to these topics instead of just conversations between classes. I also hope that by the end of each episode, the listener(s) understands why something is the way it is or why it is being changed.
For our first episode of Shep and Sean’s Sports Show, we discussed three different NFL topics. We started off talking about why running backs are not lasting in the league like they used to and how running backs and NFL offenses are adapting to the ever evolving game. We then discussed how fantasy football impacts the game and how fantasy football changes how people watch the game, along with debating the NFL’s rookie of the year candidates so far this year.
