Howard interviewed Tillman's brother-in-law Alex Garwood, the co-founder of the run and the Pat Tillman Foundation, on SiriusXM's Hall of Fame Radio show. He speaks of what he learned from the interview and from talking to former Cardinals head coach Dave McGinnis.
Jess and Seth begin their Cardinals draft preview shows with two position groups on offense — wide receiver and the offensive line — their two biggest needs on the offensive side of the ball.
The bulk of the show is about receivers. They go over players for the first round, Day 2 and also late-round options. They do the same thing with interior linemen and tackles as well.
Enjoy the show! More shows previewing the draft for the Cardinals coming!
In this second show of the week, Jess and Seth talk about whether it would be worth it for the Cardinals to trade for 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk or Bengals receiver Tee Higgins. The discussion comes with context, of course.
Jess and Seth react to the recent ruling where the Cardinals must pay former exec Terry McDonough $3 million for defamation and then discuss the Cardinals' critical, primary and secondary draft needs.
There isn't any new Arizona Cardinals news but there are trade rumors. Jess and Seth look at some mock draft trade proposals, one that involves trading Kyler Murray and another that is Trey Lance-like.
DraftKings dropped projected win totals for the 2024 season so Jess and Seth talk about those totals and odds for the Cardinals and rest of the NFL. They also discuss what Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon said in Orlando at the annual league meeting.
Jess and Seth talk about what Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon and general manager Monti Ossenfort had to say about the offseason in their recent press conference. They also go over all the proposed rule and bylaw changes for the NFL in the annual league meeting -- trade deadline, kickoffs and more.
The Cardinals made more additions in free agency. Jess and Seth talk about them and then wonder what the plan is at receiver and outside linebacker. And with the Minnesota Vikings trading up to have a second first-round pick, they discuss the possibility of draft-day trades that have come up in a few mock drafts.
Jess and Seth return to discuss more offseason moves by the Arizona Cardinals. They discuss the release of D.J. Humphries and the signing of his replacement Jonah Williams. They go over the trade for Falcons QB Desmond Ridder and then the players who are re-signing with the Cardinals.
NFL free agency started and moves were made all over the league. Jess and Seth react to the early moves round the NFL and then focus on the Arizona Cardinals. They discuss the five outside free agent additions the Cardinals made on Monday and Tuesday, and then about the players they are bringing back and have lost. They also look at what could still be coming.
Enjoy the show!
Seth's Original Draft Breakdown Podcast cohost Justin Higdon joins the show again to focus on the defensive players at the NFL combine and who are players to watch for the Arizona Cardinals.
In the first of two shows about the 2024 NFL combine, Justin Higdon, Seth's cohost from the Original Draft Breakdown Podcast joins the show to break down the performance of the prospects on offense at the combine
Jess and Seth discuss the Arizona Cardinals' team report card grades that come from the NFLPA and how they have improved.
But the bulk of the show is dedicated to free agency. Both Jess and Seth give the moves they would make for the Cardinals this offseason -- cuts, trades and signings.
Enjoy the show and let them know what you think on X/Twitter @riseupseered
Jess and Seth talk free agency for the Arizona Cardinals, beginning the team's own free agents they think should be re-signed and then give notable free agents at each player both on offense and defense to pay attention to.
Jess and Seth talk about the departure of two key front office execs for the Cardinals, the betting odds for Coach of the Year and Offensive/Defensive Players of the Year, and they also discuss what they have heard about the positional future of tackle Paris Johnson.
Jess and Seth get together to talk offseason topics with the Arizona Cardinals. After some brief talk about recent mock drafts, they go over the biggest questions the Cardinals face and then go over players who could be traded and whether the Cardinals should be interested.
Jess and Seth get together of the second show of the week. They talk about former Cardinals and their coaching jobs. Specifically, they discuss how Steve Wilks was fired by the 49ers and how David Blough was hired by the Commanders. They talk about whether the Cardinals should be making changes to their coaching staff and what sort of impact the supposed four or five teams looking to trade up for a quarterback will impact the Cardinals in the draft.
Jess and Seth talk about the Super Bowl and how the Chiefs win again! They also discuss early odds for winning Super Bowl LIX and where the Cardinals stand. And they wrap up the show discussing whether the Cardinals should consider trading for Eagles linebacker and former Arizona first-round pick Haason Reddick, as he has been granted permission to seek a trade.
With the Super Bowl coming up this weekend Seth and Jess go over some key free agents on the 49ers and Chiefs who would be good targets for the Cardinals in the offeason. They also give you their Super Bowl picks and top prop bets to make.
Jess and Seth discuss how former Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury went from being set to be the OC for the Raiders to being the OC for the Commanders.
They also go over the prospects at the Senior Bowl who stood out and and it means for the Cardinals in the draft.
In this offseason episode, Jess and Seth debate whether or not it is appropriate for a local business in Arizona to have a billboard in support of San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy. They go over which of the eight newly hired head coaches the Cardinals will face in 2024 and what takeaways there are from the measurements at the Senior Bowl.
Jess and Seth react to the conference championships and wins by the Chiefs and 49ers, looking at them from an Arizona Cardinals pair of lenses and then go over moves they can (but not necessarily should) make to add salary cap space.
Jess and Seth ask the unspoke huge question of the offseason for the Arizona Cardinals — what will the Cardinals do with Budda Baker? Will they extend him or trade him? One of the two things will happen.
They also give their best bets, picks and prop bets for the AFC and NFC Championship games.
Jess and Seth are back to talk about the NFL playoffs and the Arizona Cardinals. They react to the divisional-round games, especially about Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes.
They discuss the news and impact of several Cardinals assistant coaches getting to work a coaches in the college all-star games and then go through each one of the team's own scheduled free agents, saying whether the Cardinals should re-sign them, let them go or whether it matters.
Jess and Seth are back with another offseason show! They talk about the implications of Kliff Kingsbury being under consideration for the Chicago Bears' OC job, go over each position group on the Cardinals and determine whether there is a roster hole and then they give their picks and best prop bets for the four NFL playoff divisional games over the weekend.
Enjoy the show!
Jess and Seth bring you another offseason show that has more non-Cardinals content than Cardinals content.
They look at the Wild Card round of the playoffs and react to the games, including comparing the 2023 Eagles' collapse to the Cardinals' failures in 2021.
They give their league awards and then go over the on-field areas the Cardinals really need to improve upon in 2024.
Jess and Seth begin the offseason for the Cardinals by grading each position group in 2023 and giving out awards. They make early head-coaching predictions around the NFL and give you their picks and top prop bets for Wild Card Weekend.
The Cardinals lost to the Seahawks because of two missed field goals by Matt Prater. Jess and Seth react to the loss and then discuss Kyler Murray's play to end the season and the optimism surrounding the team as the offseason begins.

The Arizona Cardinals drafted six players last week during the 2016 NFL Draft. They added Robert Nkemdiche, Brandon Williams, Evan Boehm, Marqui Christian, Cole Toner and Harlan Miller. They also added 16 undrafted free agent rookies. So naturally we had to have a show to talk about it. Hosts Jess Root and Seth Cox discuss the selections.
They go over each pick and discuss whether it is a good pick or not, how each player fits and if there was another player the Cardinals could have taken. A lot of time is spent on Nkemdiche, who became available because of some character concerns.
They make comparisons for each new player to someone on the roster now or in the past.
Overall, they both really like how the Cardinals approached the draft and how they go about taking their risks and making their projections. They also briefly discuss the draft and the NFC West, going over the other teams in the division.

Jess and Seth talk about whether it is a good idea, why the Cardinals would do it and if it is likely to happen or not.

The Arizona Cardinals were completely dismantled by the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, falling 49-15 in the NFC Championship Game and ending their season. They also look ahead to the game this weekend that determines who goes to the Super Bowl. The Carolina Panthers and Arizona Cardinals both want in. How can the Cardinals beat them? What matchups will matter?
The Arizona Cardinals had a bye week in the playoffs and got to sit back and wait and see who they would play. Wild Card weekend brought some surprises. Hosts Jess and Seth react to the weekend of playoff football and delve into the matchup against the Packers again. What matchups matter, is there anything to Green Bay and their swagger? How will this game look the second time around with a healthy Packers team, albeit on short rest.

The Arizona Cardinals wrapped up their season on Sunday with an embarrassing 36-6 Week 17 loss at home to the Seattle Seahawks. It didn't hurt anything in the big picture and it didn't help Seattle. Arizona still is the number two seed and Seattle the number six seed. But with the ugly loss, is there reason to be concerned and were there any takeaways from the game?
In this show, hosts Jess Root and Seth Cox go over how there isn't really much to take away from the game, except that Seattle needed and wanted the game more than the Cardinals. It was something for their psyche and their confidence against moving forward.
They pose the question and give their answer -- should Cardinals fans be more concerned moving forward in the playoffs about facing Seattle potentially?
Then, looking ahead to the divisional round, they discuss the three possible opponents -- the Packers, Redskins and Vikings and discuss each team's strengths. They rank their confidence level against each team and talk about which team they would prefer to see next weekend.

Hosts Jess Root and Seth Cox got together for another All-Cardinals show following the team's 19-13 win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday on the road. It was a costly win, as leading running back Chris Johnson was lost to a fracture in his leg. The game features two of the NFL's best teams and two of the league's most balanced teams offensively and defensively.
To preview the game, Scott Bantel from SB Nation's Cincy Jungle was a guest on the show with host Jess Root and talked about a whole bunch of things leading up to the game.
Of course, we couldn't ignore the Carson Palmer angle, so we discussed what his departure meant for him and for Cincinnati. Clearly, it worked out for everyone.
Bantel tells us about how Bengals fans have elevated expectations and, despite all the success the last four years, are really in a wait-and-see mode for the team until the postseason.
He gives us the implications of the injuries they have suffered on defense and also the matchups that favor and do not favor the Bengals. And that whole prime time thing with Andy Dalton and the Bengals? There might be something to that.

After a week off of the show, hosts Jess Root and Seth Cox look back and grade the first half of the season -- how did each position group and side of the ball do? Who are the team's offensive and defensive MVPs? Both the hosts weugh in.
Then they talk about the remaining schedule and how crucial the next four games are. If Arizona can somehow win all four, they will have put away the division and also grabbed national attention as a favorite to come out of the NFC.
The Arizona Cardinals were on the big stage in Week 7, playing host to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football. They defeated the now 1-6 Ravens 26-18 in a game that should have been that close. A blocked punt and a couple of bad decisions while trying to run the clock out led to the Ravens coming within a pay of perhaps tying the score late in the game.
But the Cardinals got the win, finally pulling out a close game and "finishing one," which was the theme of the win. Hosts Jess Root and Seth Cox discuss the win and whether or not the Cardinals really finished the game or not. They discuss the players who stood out and the plays that stood out and looked ahead on the schedule to the team's next opponent -- the Cleveland Brown.

With the Arizona Cardinals and Baltimore Ravens set to play one another on Monday Night Football, we have to preview the show, right? Naturally. So this episode is actually about the Ravens. Host Jess Root brings on Matthew Stevens, lead editor for Baltimore Beatdown, the SB Nation Baltimore Ravens site, to talk about the Ravens and their tough start to the season.
We find out the Ravens had huge expectations, with aspirations of competing for the Super Bowl. Then things fell apart with key injuries.
He also tells us that quarterback Joe Flacco is not elite (gasp), but he is really good. And strangely enough, with one of the best running backs in the league, a top 10 QB, a great run-stopping defense and a bunch of sacks, they can't win. But their close games are because they do things well.
Stevens tells us how the Ravens can win and how they can lose.
Make sure to have a listen and to head to Revenge of the Birds for more Cardinals coverage.

The Arizona Cardinals had another impressive victory on Sunday, defeating the Detroit Lions 42-17, forcing five turnovers and rushing for over 180 yards. Carson Palmer only had to throw 14 passes and three of his 11 completions went for touchdowns.
Hosts Jess Root and Seth Cox look back at the game and discuss the takeaways, both good and bad.
Citing a stat that seems to guarantee the Cardinals will make the Super Bowl and probably win, are the Cardinals actually a Super Bowl team? They discuss the team and how they looks so far, despite not really playing stiff competition.
With the addition of Dwight Freeney, they also talk about his role and what that does for the pass rush.
The Arizona Cardinals hit the road this weekend to take on the winless Detroit Lions in Detroit. While the numbers say the Lions are a terrible team, the talk coming from the Cardinals facility is they are not taking this game for granted. The skill players Detroit has are among the best and their defense is stout. They even almost got a win in Seattle on Monday, where it is seemingly impossible to win.
To preview the game and give Cardinals fans some insight about the Lions, Pride of Detroit's Jeremy Reisman joined host Jess Root on the show to talk about the team he covers -- the losses and the additions, the injuries and the horrid offensive line play which seems to be the root of all the team's struggles.
The Arizona Cardinals suffered their first loss of the season, falling 24-22 at home to the St. Louis Rams, turning the ball over three times and failing to come through in their final drive to win the game. Hosts Jess Root and Seth Cox talk about the loss. Did the Rams beat the Cardinals or did the Cardinals beat themselves?
They talk the turnovers, the offensive line play, Todd Gurley and Tavon Austin and more.
Were there positives in the loss and what does the loss mean long-term?
Listen to the show and then join the conversation on Revenge of the Birds.
For the second week in a row, the Arizona Cardinals will play at home against an NFC West foe. After dismantling the San Francisco 49ers 47-7. they now take on the St. Louis Rams, who perhaps should be known as the St. Louis QB assassins. In two outings last season, Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton both had their seasons ended. Just last week, they took down Ben Roethlisberger.
Host Jess Root talks to 3K from Turf Show Times and discusses the physicality of the Rams defense, among other things. As Tyrann Mathieu wondered the other day, why isn't this team a Super Bowl team? They talk about the Jeff Fisher era and the seeming ability of the team to underachieve and overachieve all in a single season, always seeming to end up with 7 or 8 wins.
Nick Foles, Aaron Donald, Todd Gurley and more are discussed.
Enjoy the show and head on over to Revenge of the Birds for all the best Arizona Cardinals content
The Arizona Cardinals are 3-0! They made roadkill of the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, defeating them 47-7 behind four interceptions of Colin Kaepernick, including two returned for touchdowns in the first six minutes of the game. Carson Palmer threw for over 300 yards and two scores. Chris Johnson ran for 110 yards and two scores. Larry Fitzgerald caught nine passes and two scores.
What was there to talk about? Pretty much only good things. Hosts Jess Root and Seth Cox talk about all the good things going on and can only nitpick about the things of concern.
They talk about the offense, the running game and how three players in their 30s are playing like it is 2009 and they all are in their physical prime.
They talk Bobby Massie rejoining the starting lineup and what happens when Andre Ellington is healthy. Then they address a little bit of what Bruce Arians talked about with crowd noise at home.
Have a listen and get great Cardinals talk.
The Arizona Cardinals are set to take on NFC West rivals at home on Sunday. They face the San Francisco 49ers, who looked surprisingly good in Week 1 and then kind of bad in Week 2. To give some perspective on the 49ers, host Jess Root brings on David Fucillo (Fooch) from SB Nation's Niners Nation to give us a look into the Niners 2015 team.
Find out about how a Jim Tomsula 49ers team looks. Hear about how Colin Kaepernick looks after two games in this season and whether Kurt Warner's tutelage has been of any help. What are expectations for the Niners this year? Where are the favorable matchups and not so favorable matchups for the Niners this week.
The Arizona Cardinals are now 2-0 after having demolished the Chicago Bears 48-23 on Sunday at Soldier Field. What was the good and what was the not so good? Well, there obviously wasn't that much to complain about, as the Cardinals rolled to a 25-point win, but thereare some things to wonder about. Hosts Jess Root and Seth Cox discuss the biggest stories coming out of the game.
Chris Johnson had a steady 72 yards and it was exactly the type of performance the Cardinals needed. Combined with David Johnson, this duo looks like a better version of Rashard Mendenhall and Andre Ellington, only this time we should be fine with the limited touches for Johnson.
Seth points out Michael Floyd showed some bad body language when he wasn't getting the ball thrown his way.
What about Bobby Massie? The tackle was reinstated and the team kept all their linemen, choosing instead to cut Kerwynn Williams.

The NFL season has one week down in 2015. The Arizona Cardinals got a season-opening victory at home, defeating the New Orleans Saints 31-19. In the All-Cardinals show, hosts Jess Root and Seth Cox go over the good and not so good of the game.
Guess what? There wasn't much in the way of not so good.
They discuss the performance of Carson Palmer and the offense, as well as how the defense performed.
What about the injury to Andre Ellington? The hosts don't seem to be too worried wth the depth at the position.
Are you ready to jump on the Darren Fells train? Go ahead, but don't expect huge production every week. It is a week-to-week thing, especially in terms of fantasy football.
Have a listen and head on over to Revenge of the Birds for more great Cardinals content.
We are finally here. It is Week 1 of the 2015 NFL season. The Arizona Cardinals made their final roster moves. They inexplicably traded for quarterback Matt Barkley, made their final cuts to get to 53 players, formed their 10-man practice squad and have a new depth chart. That's a lot to go though.
Hosts Jess Root and Seth Cox go through each. They give their thoughts on the trade for Barkley and question giving up on Logan Thomas so early, especially since he was seen as a project and he did seem to show progress and improvement.
They play a little GM and explaoin what they would have done differently with the final 53-man roster. Then they talk about the practice squad, waivers and the first depth chart.
Have a listen to the show. Then head on over to Revenge of the Birds to keep the conversation going.
Two big things happened. One is the Arizona Cardinals got a win in the preseason, defeating the Oakland Raiders 30-23 on a last minute touchdown. The other was the first round of NFL roster cuts. With the roster now down to 75 players and the Cardinals playing their preseason finale on Thursday, hosts Jess Root and Seth Cox discussed some of the ramifications.
Among the cuts were a pair of veterans and former captains. Were there any other surprises among the first 12 moves? What stood out as good and disappointing in the Cardinals win on Sunday? What is there to look forward to on Thursday?

He gives us the rundown about Jack Del Rio and the new coaching staff, including the very intense defensive coordinator Ken Norton. Find out more about the Raiders and check out Silver and Black Pride and join us on Revenge of the Birds for more Cardinals talk.
The Arizona Cardinals lost their second straight preseason game, falling at home to the San Diego Chargers on a last second field goal 22-19. The result isn't all that important, as it is still just the preseason. But hosts Jess Root and Seth Cox find plenty to talk about, as they go over the positives from the game and the issue that came up.
They talk about the offensive line and how it went from being a great strength to a line with only established NFL starter to start the season. Will Earl Watford be able to overtake Bradley Sowell at RT in Bobby Massie's absence? What about the battle between Logan Thomas and Phillip Sims for QB3?
All this and more on Revenge of the Birds Radio.
The Arizona Cardinals will host the San Diego Chargers Saturday night at Unversity of Phoenix Stadium in their second preseason game.
As he likes to do, host Jess Root brings on a writer who covers the opposing teams and previews the upcoming game. For this show it is John Gennaro, who runs Bolts from the Blue, SB Nation's Chargers team site.
Gennaro came on and talked about offseason moves, draft picks, Philip River's new contract and season expectations entering Mike McCoy's third year as head coach.
Gennaro tells us how San Diego's fans are thrilled about Rivers' deal, how Kyle Emanuel might be the best Chargers draft pick in 30 years and how competitive the AFC West will be this year.

Would you like to know more about the Cardinals' first preseason opponent? Listen in!

And the Cardinals have offered Chris Johnson a contract. All that and more with NFL and Arizona Cardinals talk.

In another move, James Bettcher was named defensive coordinator.
Now they have their eyes on some big time players -- reportedly Adrian Peterson and DeMarco Murray. They have pass rushing and inside linebacker needs.

The Arizona Cardinals got the ship right, at least for a week, when they got a 17-14 come-from-behind win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. They got a key contribution from running back Kerwynn Williams and big plays from Alex Okafor, Jaron Brown and Deone Bucannon, with an assist on a replay.
On the show, Jess and Seth talk about the good and the bad from the game, discuss the play of Jonathan Cooper, who got his first NFL start and also debate whether Williams is the answer to the running game the rest of the way. They look at the road ahead and the possibilities of the postseason after getting to 10 wins. They also talk about the upcoming game on Thursday against the Rams.
