When God Shuts A Door

Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. “Paul and Silas went through Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia...they attempted to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them.” This must have been extremely puzzling to Paul and Silas. They wanted to do a good thing, preach the word in what is now Turkey, but Jesus would not permit them to do it. He shut the door right in their faces. But then Paul received a vision in the night, a man of Macedonia calling him to come to Philippi, and suddenly they understood. They had in mind preaching the gospel to new cities, God said I want you to preach my word in a whole new continent. And so the gospel went to Europe for the first time. God often directs our path by closing doors in one direction, only to open them in another. Blessed be the name of the Lord.
