Commentary:
God punished David for taking an improper census (1 Chronicles 21:7–30). God graciously allowed David to avoid greater punishment—defeat by his enemies—and to instead suffer a plague on Israel (1 Chronicles 21:7–14). At one point during the pestilence, David cried out for God's mercy, and the Lord stopped the disease (1 Chronicles 21:15–17). The context of this psalm seems to be what happened shortly after the plague was lifted: David's dedication (Psalm 30:1) of the future temple site (1 Chronicles 22:1; 2 Chronicles 3:1).
Neither David's sin, nor God's discipline, separated David from the Lord's love. A believer may wander from fellowship with the Lord, but he still belongs to the Lord. He is like the sheep that wandered from the fold. It still belonged to the shepherd, who searched for it, found it, carried it on his shoulders, rejoiced, and returned it to the fold (Luke 15:4–6).
God's ability to heal is also celebrated here. Paul explains to the Corinthians why some members of the church were ill and dying. He attributes the sickness and death to a specific sin, which was partaking of the Lord's Supper in an unworthy manner. That does not mean all sickness is caused by sin (John 9:1–3), but it does mean God can use illness as one of His forms of discipline. A believer may sin willfully and suffer consequences, but if he repents and calls upon the Lord for healing, the Lord may remove the sickness and forgive the sin. James 5:13–16 discusses this type of situation and directs the sick person to call for the elders of the church. He will be healed upon confessing his sins and receiving prayer.

Commentary:
God's unfailing love outlasts the span of human life. According to this verse it extends from everlasting to everlasting. It is eternal because it is an essential part of God's nature. First John 4:8 says, "God is love." Ephesians 1:4–5 tells us God predestined us in love. This startling truth indicates that from eternity past God loved those who would put their trust in His Son as their Savior.
David assures us that God's love is steadfast. He never stops loving His people. Even when we fail Him, His love for us does not fail. This is illustrated in the story of the prodigal son, who wandered far from his father. When that son returned home, he received full assurance that his father still loved him (Luke 15:11–32). When his father saw him returning, he felt compassion. Upon receiving his son, the father threw his arms around him and prepared a joyful celebration to welcome him home.
David adds to the description of God's attributes by noting that the Lord's righteousness extends to the posterity of those who reverence Him. He always does what is right and best for those in every generation who obey Him.

Psalm 103 praises God for what He has done. This includes celebration of His personal influence, as well as the way God has blessed the nation of Israel. David encourages praises from himself, from the people in general, and even from the angels and hosts of heaven.

Commentary:
This passage is a set of specific instructions to those living in Christian homes. Paul's recent words have addressed wives (Colossians 3:18) and husbands (Colossians 3:19). Here, he instructs children with a relatively broad concept. Children are given one overarching command: obedience. This follows the teaching of honoring one's parents found in the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:12; Ephesians 6:1–3). It also represents the universal Christian teaching of living with love and respect toward one another.
Paul reminds children that obedience to their parents is pleasing to God. He has already noted that all things are to be done for God's glory (Colossians 3:17). This includes how a child obeys his or her parents. Jesus set an example by being submissive to His human parents (Luke 2:51) as well as to the will of His heavenly Father (Matthew 6:10). Disobedience to parents was considered sinful (Romans 1:30; 2 Timothy 3:2). Obedience to one's parents is the biblical expectation for children in Christian homes (Ephesians 6:1).

In this chapter, Paul gives clear instructions to Christians about living out faith in Christ. Commentary:
When the angel Gabriel approached an unmarried virgin (Luke 1:26–27), she responded to his amazing news (Luke 1:31–33) with humility and obedience (Luke 1:38). The angel's message included references to Old Testament prophecy (2 Samuel 7:12–16; Isaiah 9:6–7). Those predictions were about the birth of the Messiah, who Mary will bear and name Jesus. The song Mary recites in this passage (Luke 1:47–55) is sometimes called "The Magnificat," and it demonstrates her familiarity with the Old Testament. Several of her comments either quote or refer to Scripture. The first part of her speech sounds very much like 1 Samuel 2:1–10. This is an example of a woman rejoicing over expecting a child.
Mary went to visit her relative, Elizabeth, as soon as she heard of her own pregnancy. Both Elizabeth and her unborn child reacted to the presence of the also-unborn Savior (Luke 1:41–42). Mary's reply here echoes that joyful response. It also continues the humble, faithful attitude she expressed when she was first visited by Gabriel.
To "magnify" God is to extoll, proclaim, celebrate, or approve of Him. This same attitude is expressed elsewhere in Scripture (Psalm 34:3; 1 Chronicles 17:23–24; Acts 10:46).
Mary's declaration also includes her admission of a need for salvation. Contrary to suggestions that she was sinless, or a component of God's forgiveness, Mary clearly notes that God is her "Savior" (Luke 1:47).
Mary, recently told she would bear the very Son of God (Luke 1:26–33), is celebrating with her relative, Elizabeth (Luke 1:39–42). Her initial response to an angelic message was humility and obedience (Luke 1:38). The extended praise she offers in this passage has become known as "The Magnificat." Most of this speech quotes or alludes to passages in the Old Testament, including Hannah's celebration when she learned she would bear the prophet Samuel (1 Samuel 2:1–10).
A key point here is that Mary refers to God as her "Savior." When Gabriel first appeared, he described Mary—very specifically, in Greek grammar—as a recipient of God's grace (Luke 1:28). False belief and poor translation have suggested Mary was "full of grace" and that she passes along grace to others. For her part, Mary clearly understood she was a sinner in need of salvation (Psalm 35:9). Her song of praise declares what God does, and how He saves, without suggesting that she is an active part in that process. She is honored and happy to obey God's plan and follow His will.

Commentary:
Psalm 1 begins by identifying the man who is blessed. The word "blessed" in the Hebrew Old Testament is actually a plural noun. Therefore, the words, "Blessed is the man," may be rendered, "Blessings to the man." Also, the word for "man" in this context refers to human beings in general. Blessings come to anyone who refuses to be influenced by the ungodly, those whose lives are governed by evil passions. The blessed person refuses to align with sinners: those who choose to do wrong. Further, they refuse to join the ranks of those who mock God, mock the righteous, or oppose whatever is virtuous.
This verse describes a downward spiral. First is willingness to be influenced by the ungodly, followed by entering into fellowship with them, followed by joining in their scornful attitudes and behavior. Christians today need to lead a righteous life, refusing to be influenced by godless attitudes. Despite the temptations of popularity or comfort, believers should not side with those who disdain God's standards of righteousness. Ephesians 5:7–8 commands: "Therefore do not become partners with [the sons of disobedience]; for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light."

This was the first major single and instant hit in the christian church scene. When it debuted, it was performed at Living Faith Assembly and became such a hit that a mini tour was formed. It sparked a new movement in the youth group and was then expanded into the Christian Dog Pound which consisted of the young female dance group "The PUPz" (Prophecy Under Praise) The single became an actual dance and was performed regularly at LFA among other churches in the early 2000s. The edit with the dog barking was not the original mix, in fact the barking was a trademark that was introduced at LFA during a performance and was adopted in the track as a fan favorite. The Christian rap group "The DOGz" would perform the single at churches all over the Las Vegas valley and even at the Shriners. A successful run and a trademark song for the ages!
