Romance is one of those things that everybody wants even if they don’t admit it. Whether it’s date nights, consistent gifting or genuine appreciation, a person’s romantic preference differs based on their expectations, what their relationship is like, what they’re used to, and even gender.

The romantic needs of men are often neglected or left unexplored by woman. It seems that men are usually put in the romance picture from a giving but not receiving end. Romantic women around the globe like me what to do better as regards understanding the romantic needs of men and what makes them tick. So, to explore this topic, I am joined by a talented young creative whose energy, and unhinged attitude towards the topic is not only refreshing but enlightening.

Today’s guest is Dr. Yemi Davis, an art director and 3d motion designer based in Abuja. Follow him @yemidavis on Instagram

In this episode, we talk about...

  • What romance means to men
  • Men being moved to by women
  • If romance is a real thing for men, and if they communicate their romantic needs enough
  • If the traditional line of thought around gender roles is the reason why women show less romance to men
  • How men like to be show romance and more

Attention

It is our collective responsibility as a society to bring an end to child sexual abuse and rape. It begins with you and me. You do not have to be a friend or family relation to report cases or sexual abuse incidence. Do not just repost or share, report it! More importantly, protect the identities of victims. Educate yourself, and remember that its never the victims' fault. Name and shame perpetrators of child sexual abuse and rape. Report, volunteer your time, sponsor or donate to help foundations providing prevention & protection services to victims.

Research had found that around 80% of women experience period pain at some stage in their lifetime. You can suffer from period pain from your early teens right up to the menopause. Most women experience some discomfort during menstruation, especially on the first day. But in 5% to 10% of women, the pain is severe enough to disrupt their life.

I happen to be one of those women that experience menstrual pain since I started menstruating. I have experienced cramps so painful that I'd cry and throw up for hours, and even pass out from the pain. This is a monthly occurrence that most women are faced with, yet most of us are not properly educated enough to understand and manage menstruation, period pain, and hygiene. In today's episode, I have a chat with Dr. Ayomipo Madein to help us make sense of and better navigate our period. Today’s guest is Dr. Ayomipo Madein, a medical doctor, she graduated from St. George’s University, Grenada, where she studied medicine and developed an interest in preventive medicine in women’s health care (Obstetrics and Gynecology).

In this episode, we talk about...

  • Understanding Menstruation
  • Period Pain
  • Common meds are taken for period pain, their side effects and how to properly administer those meds
  • Period hygiene and more
