Sin reigns over humanity, bringing death and condemnation. But when Christ reigns, He brings freedom through grace, justification, and righteousness.
When Did God Begin to Love Us?
Romans 5 tells us that God demonstrated His love for us not when we were striving to live righteous lives, but while we were still pursuing sinful ones. If He loved us in that condition, how much more must He love us now that we belong to Christ?
The Results of Justification
Paul concludes that, through Christ, we now have peace with God, access to His grace, hope in tribulation, and the comfort of the Holy Spirit.

Fully Persuaded
Through Abraham’s faith, God credited righteousness to him. That same righteousness is given to us when we believe in Jesus, who justifies us.
The Faith of Abraham
The promises of God are made certain through faith. Galatians chapter three reminds us that Gentiles who share Abraham’s faith are now considered his children and recipients of God’s promises.
Happiness
Abraham and David found joy through faith. When we believe God, He credits righteousness to our account. At Christ’s return, the ledgers will be opened to reveal either blessing or judgment.
In 1996, former U.S. Marine Wes Bentley founded Far Reaching Ministries (FRM) after serving as a missionary in war-torn regions of Sudan, including Bahr El-Ghazal, Western Equatoria, the Nuba Mountains, and Southern Kordofan. By 1998, FRM expanded its efforts to South Sudanese refugee camps, primarily in Kiryandongo, Uganda, bringing hope to thousands of orphans and widows affected by the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA). Addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, FRM became a beacon for those suffering from ethnic and religious cleansing.
Today, FRM operates in 39 of the world’s most dangerous nations, deploying over 500 team members to share the hope of Jesus, disciple believers, and intervene for those trapped in cycles of death, violence, and poverty under oppressive regimes.
Committed to alleviating suffering, FRM rescues and rebuilds lives affected by Christian persecution, abduction, violence, rape, and war-induced humanitarian crises. The ministry provides essential aid, combats child sex trafficking and organ harvesting, and offers medical care, food, and shelter. More importantly, it introduces people to the love and hope found in Jesus Christ.
FRM is also dedicated to planting underground churches, discipling believers, and equipping them to return to their communities as Gospel witnesses. Its frontline workers include military-embedded chaplains, pastors, doctors, and ministry leaders, all working to transform lives and nations for Christ.
Our constitution was intended for a moral people. Therefore, it is time for Christians to take prayer seriously that hearts might be moved to turn to God.

Justified by Faith
Paul reminds the Christian Jews that religion cannot save them and that mankind must be justified by grace through faith in Christ. When we believe God, He sees us as righteous.
Paul exposes the depravity of man as a problem that must be addressed. Jesus is the righteousness that comes apart from the law, as revealed through the Law and the Prophets. It is only through faith in Him that we are made righteous.
The Oracles of God
The words of God were first entrusted to the Jews. Now, through the Gospel, they have come to us—producing faith that frees us from the consequences of sin. Since mankind has the ability to choose whom we will serve, we are ultimately responsible for our own destiny.
A Matter of the Heart
The Jews believed that judgment was for everyone but themselves. Paul confronts this mindset by emphasizing that a true Jew is one inwardly. In the same way, Christianity—or our religion—does not save us on its own. It is imperative that Christians cultivate a genuine heart relationship with God, as hypocrisy gives the non-religious world reason to blaspheme.
The standard of heaven is perfection, but religion cannot make us perfect. Furthermore, God does not show favoritism to the religious. Only through Christ can we meet His holy requirements.

The Day and Hour
We learn that Jesus is the sign from Heaven that will mark the end of the age. The wise will understand and know the day of His coming because they are not in darkness. Jesus says “ that day” will be just as in the days of Noah and Lot who were removed immediately before wrath fell.

Neighbors Everywhere
What if there was a movement of ordinary Jesus followers, who made it their aim to be with Jesus, become like Jesus and do what Jesus did? The Second Coming
Jesus has given the disciples a timeline that answers their questions about the second coming. He clarifies that the day of the Lord is immediately after the tribulation when every eye will see Him coming in the clouds.

The Abomination of Desolation
In today’s text, Jesus reveals the source of the coming deception . He refers to the book of Daniel chapter 12 where we are also told that God’s holy people are to expect 3 1/2 years of tribulation.
False teachers equal deception and deception equals departure from the faith, but those who endure through persecution will be saved. We will know the end is come when the Gospel is declared to the whole world.
Birth Pains
This week we learn of a coming deception with eternal consequences. Wars, famines, pestilence and earthquakes are preludes to the birth of Christ’s kingdom.
We begin chapter 24 with Jesus pronouncing the fall of the temple and the disciples asking 3 important questions about the future and Christ’s coming. Jesus begins to answer and warns them of a moral departure from and defection from the faith.
Verdict of Hypocrisy
At the beginning of His ministry, Jesus offers eight blessings to the humble. Now we see Jesus pronouncing the eight woes upon the Scribes and Pharisees for their crimes of hypocrisy.
Why was the apostle Paul so unashamed of the Gospel? Because He met and personally knew the Good News Himself, the Lord Jesus Christ, and believed in His power and authority to save anyone who believes!
Jesus Speaks to the Multitude
Jesus exhorts the people not to be as the religious leaders. He teaches on the characteristics of those who are hypocrites yet see themselves as God’s spokesmen.
Last Questions
Seeking to make Jesus look foolish, the Pharisees ask Him one last question. He in turn asks them what they think of the Christ and His relationship to David.
Lessons on the Resurrection
While the denarius coin bore the resemblance of Caesar, believers are to be the image bearers of Christ. We know that at the last trump we shall all be changed. Jesus challenges the Sadducee’s views of the resurrection. He brings to their attention the fact that God is the God of the Living and those who believe will never die.
The Heritage of The Nation
God sovereignly controls the destiny of nations. While it was intended by the founders of this country that America would be a Christian nation, the culture has shifted. God charges each of us to use our unique callings to take action and be the light and salt that draws others to His kingdom.
Jesus tells this last parable which implies what will happen to those who hate Him and kill His prophets. In this parable He speaks of the marriage of the King’s son and His armies that will come to destroy the wicked. All are invited to the wedding feast but those who will not receive His “garments” are rejected.
Vinedressers and The Cornerstone
Jesus tells another parable which compares the religious leaders to the wicked vinedressers who kill the master’s son. Jesus compares himself to the chief cornerstone and the church is to align with His standards. He also foretells of coming judgement.
The chief priest and elders challenge Jesus’ authority. He challenges their integrity and tells the parable of the two sons. In this story, Jesus is comparing the religious leaders to the disobedient son.

The Triumphal Entry
Jesus rides into Jerusalem on a colt fulfilling prophesy and with hardness of heart and spiritual blindness the Jews miss their day of visitation.

With the weight of the coming crucifixion and death upon Him, Jesus must deal with the selfish ambition of the disciples and then with great compassion He heals the blind.

In this parable we are reminded that the Lord is good and we can trust Him to reward all of His laborers to a much greater degree than their skills are worth. He also communicates the urgency of bringing in the harvest.

The Rich Young Ruler
The rich young ruler is admirable in all ways, but mistakenly believes that the kingdom can be earned. His covetousness and idol keeps him from following The One who is good. It is only His followers who will inherit eternal life.

Marriage and Divorce (Part 2)
For the believer the expectation is that marriage is to be a life commitment. The one exception is in the case of sexual immorality. Marriage and bringing little children to Christ should be priories in the life of His followers.

The Pharisees hope to test Jesus by questioning His authority on Divorce. Jesus instructs them on the sanctity of marriage and intent of marriage which God had ordained from the beginning.

Forgiveness
While not everyone can receive forgiveness, the disciples of Christ are commanded to offer forgiveness to those who sinned against them, even until Christ’s kingdom comes.

Final Instructions on Unity
When there has been sin, disobedience to the instructions given for reconciliation can lead to division. The church is given the authority to convict or acquit those found in sin.

In the Kingdom, greatness is found in humility and purity of faith like that of a child, and those are called to the kingdom will deal aggressively with their sin.

Keys of the Kingdom
Still standing at the “Gates of Hell” Jesus gives Peter the authority to open the kingdom of Heaven to those who will receive it. These will deny themselves, take up their cross and follow Him. The kingdom of hell is open to those who do not.

Who is Jesus?
Standing at the “Gates of Hell” in Caesarea Philippi, Jesus declares that the foundation of the church will be built upon the fact that Jesus is the Christ the Son of the Living God. This is a requirement that every disciple must believe.

Blindness
Jesus has words with the Pharisees and Sadducees who cannot see the sign that was sent from heaven. He warns the disciples to beware of the leaven of hypocrisy and unbelief that caused the religious rulers blindness.
Good and Evil
If one rejects the convictions of the Holy Spirit, he cannot be forgiven. The evil Jewish leadership was incapable of seeing that Christ was good; nor could they see that He fulfilled the signs of prophecy.
As we draw nearer to the second coming of Christ, we are to expect a great apostasy, as deceiving spirits from the kingdom of darkness war against the kingdom of heaven.
Who’s Leading?
Through influence of the religious leaders Israel is led into ignorance of righteousness. But Jesus who is Lord of the Sabbath heals the multitude on the Sabbath and leads the Gentiles through the door of salvation.
In Hebrews 3 we find encouragement and exhortation related to the greatness of Jesus Christ - the Great Apostle and our Great High Priest - who is greater than Moses.
Substance or Shadow?
In Matthew chapter 12 we begin to see the rejection of the Messiah. The Jewish leadership forfeits the substance of Christ who is our rest. Instead they chose the shadow of rest through following manmade rules.
Rebuke or Rest?
Jesus rebukes the cities who will not repent. They have rejected the works of God who was living in their midst. The Lord in His sovereignty reveals His truth to the meek and there is rest for all who come to Him.
The Kingdom Rejected
From the beginning of John’s ministry, the priest Annas brought violence to the kingdom. And the Jews were unable to receive John’s message as those who are not wise cannot be satisfied. Join us as we continue our study in Matthew 11.
Being Disappointed With God
While John the Baptist was doubting and suffering in prison, Jesus considers John to be the greatest of all men. Knowing the heart of God keeps us from disillusionment and deconstruction.
The Sword of the Gospel
Jesus exhorts His disciples to impart the gospel message to all people. Being confident in the value God has place upon us , we devote ourselves wholly to this calling. We do not spread the gospel through violence, but the gospel itself is a sword that brings devision between light and dark.
The Calling of an Ambassador
In the commission of the twelve, Jesus gives instruction as to the expected behaviors of His ambassadors. We are all called to spread the glorious message of reconciliation while being wise and harmless when opposition inevitably comes.
We are familiar with the phrase “God Bless America." All of us should desire to see America being blessed by God. That can happen and will happen if America will make a simple choice. Join us as we look into what a nation must do if it’s to be blessed by God.
Instructions to “Sent Ones
Jesus is now sending out the twelve. But His people today must also see themselves as being sent out as well. We are called to be Ambassadors of Christ. What is an ambassador to do and how are they to behave? Join us as we hear from our Christ concerning how He desires to be represented to this fallen world.

Christ the Giver of Life

Psalm 23
In the life of the believer, there are seasons of great blessing and seasons of great testing. Jesus’ disciples were coming off of an incredible three year period of doing ministry with Jesus. However, they were about to enter into one of the greatest trials of their lives that would leave them paralyzed by fear and left feeling defeated and afraid. Two Types of Religions
Closing out our study on the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus reveals there are only two types of religions, one has the power to save and the other has the power to deceive and to condemn. We can be mistaken on a lot of different subjects in life, but one subject we need absolute clarity on is which religious expression saves.

Beware of False Prophets

Satan’s End

The Kingdom of Christ
As we arrive at chapter 20 of Revelation, Armageddon has ended, and the Anti-Christ and the False Prophet have been disposed of. Now we learn of Satan’s incarceration. Paradise has now come to Earth. When we have prayed “Thy kingdom come”, what exactly will that mean when it finally will be materialized? Join us as we seek to understand the ramifications of the Kingdom of Christ.
Armageddon
The second half of Revelation nineteen gives us the great battle to usher in Christ glorious reign upon the earth. Here we see that that the greatness of our God is profound and that He has no equal. He is a God who deserves both our worship and our obedience.
Marriage Supper of the Lamb
Chapter 19 of Revelation reveals to us a glorious event that lies in the future for every follower of Christ. It is a feast that takes place on the mountain of God according to Isaiah. It is a glorious event where we His people will be forever unified with Him. Join us as we look at this wonderful event which could be called the capstone of our faith.
The New World Order is Destroyed
The Book of Revelation describes an organized attempt to defeat the plans of God. However, David writes in Psalm 2, that when the Nations gather against God, “He who sits in the heavens shall laugh." Our God never faces a serious threat to His dominion. Join us as we read of the destruction that is to come.
Not Obvious Babylon
Chapter 18 is describing a city that when you saw it you wouldn’t immediately think that you’re seeing Babylon. This is a city that has rebellion against God hidden under the surface. Join us as we seek to discover what city has the spirit of Babylon hidden in it.

Scripture tells us that the Lord will not break a bruised reed or snuff out a smoldering wick. In Luke 7:36-50, we discover that Christ is filled with compassion and love for the sinner who comes to Him with a broken and contrite heart. We also see that Jesus is willing to reach out and break through to those of us who still wrestle with a condemnatory spirit.
How the End-times will End
We find a repeating of the end-times scenario over and over in the Scripture. As we now venture into Revelation 14, we find it to be a companion to what Jesus said about the end-times in Matthew 24. Join us as we compare Scripture with Scripture to discern how the end will end.
