“The Day of Pentecost”
After the resurrection, Jesus spent 40 Days preparing the disciples for reaching the world. He appeared to at least 500 of them, he taught them about the kingdom of God, and he commissioned them to take the good news to the world. On the Day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came and the Jesus movement was launched across the world.
This week we'll talk about launch day for the Great Commission - the Day of Pentecost.

"Little children, guard yourselves from idols" 1 John 5:21.
Our hearts are made to worship and adore. The problem is, we are sometimes drawn to adore lesser things than the creator, sustainer, and savior of the world. This Sunday, we'll learn about guarding our hearts and directing our worship in the right place.

Say No to False Teaching / Teachers.
"Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see if they are from God, because MANY FALSE PROPHETS have gone out into the world" 1 John 4:1.
There are so many voices and teachers in this world. How do we know which one is right and who to listen to. This Sunday, we'll learn how to tests the spirits and determine true and false gospels in our world.

Say Yes to Love and Relationships.
"Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God." 1 John 4:7.
The word love is found 27 times in the book of 1 John. John has even been called the Apostle of Love. This Sunday, we'll discover some truths about love and relationships as we continue our study of John's first letter.
Say Yes to the Holy Spirit.
"the way we know that he remains in us is from the Spirit he has given us" 1 John 3:24.
One of the major themes in John's Gospel is the Holy Spirit. The Spirit is mentioned at least 8x in 1 John. This Sunday, we'll discover some truths about the Spirit and how we can and must connect with Him for life In Christ, On Mission, For Others.
Say No to Sin.
"No one who abides in him keeps on sinning" 1 John 3:6.
God loves us the way we are, AND he loves us enough not to leave us that way. In Christ is the capacity to overcome sin. This Sunday, we'll discover why and how to say no to sin as we continue our study of the book of 1 John.

John presents love for the world as an obstacle to spiritual maturity. This Sunday, we'll discover why and how to say no to the world as we continue our study of the book of 1 John.

Our culture needs the book of Mark right now, because he is trying to answer the questions, Who is Jesus? and Why does it matter? for the skeptical, stressed out, burned out Roman people.
