Sesame Street in Communities brings free video content of everyone’s favorite, furry Muppet friends as they help children and the adults in their lives reach their highest potential. Grover and the gang will tackle a variety of topics that face children in the areas of health and well-being, school readiness, and emotional well-being. Some of the content and topics presented are more sensitive, so you should preview before sharing it with a child.
Rosita’s papi is coming home from the hospital, and her family celebrates by singing together and eating Mami’s homemade cake.
Rosita is frustrated because she can’t join her friends at the movies. Mami reminds Rosita that on cloudy-feeling days, we can talk about our feelings.

Sesame Street Beginnings: Language to Literacy is part of a Every Day is a Reading and Writing Day, a bilingual (English and Spanish), multimedia initiative produced in partnership with the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF), that provides parents, caregivers, and volunteer coordinators with tools to support the early literacy development of children ages 2-5. Featuring the friendly cast and Muppets of Sesame Street, Language to Literacy is designed to get children and families excited to talk, sing, and use language through everyday moments. Viewers can also enjoy watching real families modeling simple games and activities that support children’s fundamental skills around listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Language to Literacy was originally developed by Sesame Workshop and funded by The Prudential Foundation, and has been has been reviewed and endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics.

In response to these recent changes in family economics, Sesame Street has produced a primetime special, Families Stand Together: Feeling Secure in Tough Times. This hour-long special, hosted by Al Roker, Deborah Roberts and Elmo, aims to help families with children, ages two to eight, experiencing difficult economic circumstances by offering strategies and tips that can lead to positive outcomes for their childrens physical and emotional well-being during this tough economic climate.

When Families Grieve is designed for families with young children who are coping with grief. Watch Elmo and his family as they find new ways to talk about their feelings after the death of Uncle Jack. Real families discuss how they cope with their emotions, find ways to remember, and move forward after experiencing the death of a parent.
Little Children, Big Challenges: Divorce offers support and resources for families with young children (ages 2–8) as they encounter the tough transitions that come with divorce. Watch Abby Cadabby share her own families' story of divorce with Elmo and other Sesame friends. Real parents and families share tips on how they cope with their feelings around divorce, talk with children about this difficult transition, and find ways to move forward.
