Today I had the pleasure of chatting with Anna Cuxart from It’s your project. Anna’s aim through it yours project is to inspire unmotivated young people to become their highest self using various custom notion templates. Firstly I was absolutely blown away by Anna’s recommendation for how to find and clarify your purpose, she talks us through this wonderful exercise about halfway through the episode so definitely listen out for that. Anna has such a balanced approach to life, she talks about being inspired by happy, positive emotions but also how her darker emotions such as jealousy inspire her to be better and improve herself. She has this wonderful concept of “higher self” which is a really lovely way to refer to your best future self and we hear about how she applies this to every day life. The bulk of what we discuss is mainly around how to just get things started, taking small steps and how fear of failure can often sabotage us. I had such a nice conversation with Helen and she really, for me, shed light on this somewhat unknown area and I definitely picked up some great tips on how to support people around me more. There are a couple of really emotional moments, Helen is so genuine and I am really flattered that she chose to share some of her personal experiences. At times what we discuss gets a little dark but these are important conversations that Helen has everyday, just an example of the strong individual she is. but i think the overall take away is that there is light at the end of the tunnel. I am particularly pleased with myself for cramming all of my recently learned psychological theories and references in this episode! On this episode I am joined by the passionate and knowledgeable Scott Jukes. Scott is director of his own company, Studio Jukes who provide digital design, marketing and video solutions. This episode was taken as a part of a wider discussion me and Scott were having, honestly i think every conversation me and Scott have could be an episode, he is a good friend of mine and just one of these really insightful and knowledgable people. But to that effect it deviates slightly from the usual format. My particular favourite is Scotts take on the very much digital era we are rapidly being forced into with less and less face to face contact allowed due to the pandemic. He knows so much about what really goes on behind some of our favourite online platforms. As a follow up, i did watch the social dilemma, the documentary that Scott references, it is well worth a watch if this kind of topic interests you it has really shown to me that actually a lot of us live in our own reality online, we tell social media what we like, don’t like along with other opinions and it generates content for us based on this, so we are unlikely to see anything that contradicts our values. No ones newsfeed is exactly as the same as someone else’s and this is definitely something i am keeping at the forefront of my mind moving forward. Additionally there has of course been further twitter drama with the politician we talk about as this was recorded a little while ago. In my free time at the moment i am studying loads about coding, psychology and social media and i feel this episode just ties so many elements of these nicely together!
