Scripture on Creation is a Q&A format radio program discussing Biblical and scientific perspectives on Creation, as well as other scientific current events.
Is the human body designed or cobbled together? Creationists and evolutionists have different explanations and point to different evidences to support their viewpoint. Dr. Karen Scripture discusses the idea of crowded teeth.
The Creator is in control of the earth. Descriptions of the power of God displayed in violent storms and earthquakes are reasons to ascribe GLORY to the Lord. (This program was recorded after the earthquake and subsequent tsunami that devastated Japan in March of 2011.)
This Psalm refers to God founding the earth. On that basis--as Creator--"the earth is the Lord's." He determines who may enter His presence, He will come to earth according to His own will.
The testimony of God in the heavens is inescapable. People on every continent and speakers of every language all "hear" the same declaration--the Creator God is great, and He is glorious!
This well known Psalm of David highlights the biblical truth that God is revealed in two main ways; in creation (especially in the heavenly bodies) and in His Word. Nowhere on earth can His existence be denied since there is no place where the heavens are not visible.
A tiny worm larvae with brain and gut intact was found in China. Perfectly preserved for-- according to evolutionists--520 million years. The detail of this specimen is astounding and begs the question; could it really be that old.
Psalm 8 highlights the amazing power and grandeur of the Creator displayed in His "fingerwork." In light of how great God is, David marvels that the Creator would care about him.
The Scripture On Creation program will begin a new series-Creation in the Psalms. Creation and the Creator are a major theme in the book of Psalms. We will be considering any passages related to creation or to God if He is identified as the Creator. The 1st such Psalm is, Psalm 8.
Jesus' substitutionary death on the cross paid for all the sin of the world; it also redeemed a cursed creation. For personal redemption, an individual must trust Jesus Christ's work on their behalf which He accomplished on the cross. The creation will be set free from corruption when Christ returns.
Two of God's attributes are clearly displayed in creation. The fixed order of the stars--His faithfulness; the dangerous and unpredictable storm--His power.

Job chapter 41 describes Leviathan--a terrible dragon. However, Job introduces this diabolical beast in association with all his torment in the beginning of Job, Job 3:8.
We all deal with the same data, the differences in how old a creationist thinks the universe is is due to how the data is interpreted, and how reliable they think the data is. Dark matter and energy, for example, is a key issue.

God continues challenging Job in response to things Job had said about the Lord. Thus, in chapter 40 verses 1-14, He repeats back to Job some of what Job had said. Then starting in verse 15, the Lord describes a creature that doesn’t exist—at least today.
In Job 38:33 through chapter 39, the Creator describes the characteristics and abilities of several of the amazing animals He made.
As the Creator challenges Job with His works in creation, Job 38:31-33 reveal some detail about the arrangement of stars in two constellations, the Pleiades and Orion, that astronomers have only discovered in the last few decades.
Job refers to ice and snow more than any other book of the Bible. Is it because the memory of a recent ice age is fresh in the minds of those living at that time? The idea is discussed.
In Job 38, verses 8-11 seem to refer to God's creative work on Days 2 and 3. From verse 12 through 30 then, He sites phenomena we know about but can hardly explain--the point being He, the Creator, DOES understand it all.
In Job chapter 38:4-6 the Creator reveals His design for the planet Earth. In Job 38:7 is the only clue in Scripture about WHEN the angels were created. Verses 8-11 relate to days 2 and 3 of creation.
Dr. Menton explains the wonders of the created eye and the meaning of the BIBLICAL term "apple of the eye."
A few years ago the "Creation Community" lost a great spokesman, Dr. David Menton. Professor for decades in Washington University (St. Louis) Medical School, and part of Answers In Genesis, his expertise in biological systems is greatly missed. Dr. Scripture interviewed Dr. Menton in 2019; what we discussed is still totally relevant.
We've come to chapter 38; the point at which the Creator Himself enters the "debate." He speaks to Job in a whirlwind--the sense being the Lord is not going to be gentle. In verses 4-6 God describes the design of the earth.
Elihu rebukes Job for his arrogance and Job's friends for their mistaken condemnation of Job. Elihu demonstrates a thorough understanding of the nature of Man, and highlights God's power shown in a thunderstorm.
What's beyond space; where is the flaming sword that guarded Eden; what will we do forever in heaven? Dr. Scripture addresses these and other questions.
Dr. Scripture spoke about creation to middle schoolers at Camp Horizon in central Florida; they had LOTS of questions. Related to Job 38:7, many of the questions were about angels. In this program we address them.
Starting in chapter 32, a "young" man named Elihu enters the discussion. His comments allude to the idea that Job and his colleagues lived much longer lives than we do today. Elihu also reveals an understanding of Gen 2:7.
Cavemen and human rights; discovered and socially applied in just our modern era? In Job chapters 30 and 31 these ideas are discussed by Job as he laments his condition.
In Job 28, Job describes the pursuit of wealth and points out that wisdom should be pursued to an even greater extent. However, Job laments, wisdom cannot be found by Man. Such a pessimistic conclusion is the result of his intense suffering. Yet he proclaims, "the fear of the Lord that is wisdom."
In Job chapters 27 and 28, Job laments the suffering the Almighty is putting him through, but he refuses to curse God or accuse Him of wrongdoing. Job also refuses to confess to wrongdoing that he did not commit.
Mark describes the soft unfossilized tissue found in dinosaur bones and the significance of these kinds of discoveries for the claims evolutionary theory makes concerning their age.
Mark Armitage has published articles describing and showing electron micrographs of unfossilized tissue in dinosaur remains. In part 1 of this interview his background and an initial description of his findings are presented.
Most people are familiar with the 10 Commandments of Exodus 20 (even if they don't know what they are). There is also an interesting possibility that there are 10 Commandments in the creation account of Genesis chapter 1.
More comparisons are made between Job's discourse and Paul's "Mars Hill" sermon. One curious aspect of Paul's message is he seems to share only part of the gospel. In these passages both Job and Paul focus on the need to fear God.
Paul's sermon on Mars Hill in Acts 17 has several similarities to Job's discourse in Job 26. Some comparisons and contrasts are discussed; the identity of God as Creator is key.
Romans 5:12 indicates that death entered the world because of Adam's sin. However, the meaning or "kind" of death that entered the world does not have a simple answer.

Radiometric dating is widely used to establish the age of various artifacts. Carbon 14 is used to assess the age of artifacts assumed to be in the range of 50,000 years or less. Logical and empirical grounds challenging the "standard" interpretation of C14 dating is discussed.
A key issue related to the difference between believing in an "old earth" or "young earth" is one's opinion about the interpretations of radiometric dating. Many passages in God's Word include glorifying descriptions of Him. In this program we look at several passages that specifically describe the Lord's glory by referring to His identity as Creator.
Newly discovered RNAs form a whole new category of the versatile biomolecule RNA. These "new" RNAs are tiny relative to the RNAs already characterized. Nicknamed, miRNA, siRNA and piwiRNA, they are involved in regulating a host of cellular functions and even pass on hereditary traits.

God's control of history and what time in the distant past would we like to visit introduce a discussion about what Eden would have been like, and how old Eve lived to be.
In Job chapter 10 Job begins to "forget" what he said about the Lord earlier--in particular that He is the ALMIGHTY. What Job says almost conveys the idea that Job accuses God of acting like a man.

In Job chapter 9 we read the first extensive description of some of the "wondrous works without number (vs 10) the Creator performed in the beginning. The purpose of the description being to demonstrate God's omnipotence.
Bildad makes a "telling" remark Job 8:8-9, about the short lifespans of their day; a remarkable statement since Job certainly lived well over 200 years, perhaps even 300 years. The indication being, their ancestors lived much longer lives, confirming the genealogical records of Genesis.

A mutation that results in dwarfism also prevents cancer and diabetes, evidence for evolution by means of natural selection. However, though it can be construed as and example of "survival of the fittest," it doesn't solve evolution's need for novel genetic information producing new abilities.
Shaddai, the Almighty, is a name used to identify the Lord as Creator in Job. It also is used when talking about God as the Judge of His creation. Shaddai made the world, and Man, He has the right to judge the world, and in particular, Man.
The Hebrew name, Shaddai, is used more to identify God in the book of Job than the rest of the Old Testament combined. Shaddai has the meaning, "Almighty," and is therefore, and not surprisingly, associated with the Lord's power displayed in creation.
Job understands he is sinful and must rely on the mercy of his omnipotent Creator for righteousness. His understanding of the Lord is more like a New Testament believer than a follower of the Law (which didn't yet exist).
In a program describing the Hydroplate Model which attempts to explain not only the dynamics of the flood and its effects on earth, but also cratering on the moon, Dr. Scripture made an incorrect statement. He corrects it and discusses the Hydroplate Model further.
Dr. Scripture visited the Sanilac Petroglyphs Historic State Park in Michigan and saw carvings in stone telling the Anishinaabe people's creation story. Their tradition also includes a global flood story--another example of the worldwide memory of the flood recorded in Genesis.
Does a fire-breathing dragon (Leviathan) sound ridiculous--something only possible in fairy tales? There is a beetle alive today that produces an explosive mixture of chemicals as a defense mechanism. If God created such a beetle, is it so unbelievable that He would also create such a dragon?
Is the monster named Leviathan a real creature that could breath fire? Perhaps it's just a mythological dragon, or simply a type of Satan? In this program a case is made for the understanding that Leviathan is an actual beast created by God.
Leviathan is a terrible "monster" fully described in Job chapter 41. The description is of a fire breathing dragon. However, chapter 41 is not the first time Leviathan is mentioned in Job. In Job 3:8 were learn that Job knew better than to mess with Leviathan.
In the exchange between the Lord and Satan we learn that the created beings, both "good and bad" angels do only what the Lord allows them to do. Thus, although Satan was the instrument of Job's torment, ultimately the Lord was responsible for what happened to Job.
In this second part of the interview, Lt Scripture describes how the brain interprets what it sees when there are no reference points to help put an image in context. And, could extra-terrestrials really be the source of the UFOs being sited?

This program discusses the article "Deep Time Philosophy Impacts Radiocarbon Measurements" in the 2019 vol 55 No 4 issue of Creation Research Society Quarterly.The article critiques the assumptions and interpretations of radiocarbon dating on logical and empirical grounds.
What is radiometric dating? How is it done? Is it accurate? Some scientists say a sample is millions of years old, yet others reject those ages? In this two part program these and other questions are addressed. They key to the controversy is the assumptions used and their effect on the interpretation of the data.
The New Testament writers make it clear Jesus Christ was/is the Creator (cf. John1, Col 1, Heb 1). Did Jesus ever make that claim during His time on earth?

Evolutionists cite natural selection as the means by which organisms evolve from simple into more complex life forms. There is no doubt that microevolution (adaptation of the "kinds") occurs. However, natural selection's ability to accomplish macroevolution is being significantly challenged--by more and more evolutionists!
The standard approach evolutionists employ to counter criticism or challenge to their theory is to ridicule the questioner. In this final program in the Mock trial series, Dr. Scripture encourages the believer from Scripture that persecution for Christ's sake is a privilege.
The desire to censor any kind of objection to or criticism of the theory of evolution is demonstrated by various evolutionist's responses to Dr. Scripture's participation in kind of creation/ID vs. evolution trial. A sad example of the incompatibility of evolution with the gospel is also presented.
After the mock trial, the Q & A that followed was very enlightening as to the tactics evolutionists are willing to use to make their point. For example what is the difference between a mouse and a bat?
In 2009 Dr. Scripture participated in a mock trial at the Western Kentucky University. It was set-up to be similar to the "Scopes Monkey Trial" conducted in 1925, only in reverse. It produced several interesting results.
This special Scripture On Creation program is different from our normal format. This 30 minute program features Dr. Scripture preaching on Psalm 111, a call to worship the Creator.
The Tree of Life appears first in the Garden of Eden, but then again in what appears to be the New Jerusalem described in Revelation chapter 22. The only other reference in all the Bible is in Proverbs, and maybe (?) Ezekiel.

Peter reminds us to trust the Lord regardless of our circumstances. He warns that scoffers of God's Word will come, one of their denials will be the global flood of Noah's day.

The final program in this series. God makes promises and changes as a result of the flood. One of the promises is the "rainbow covenant," which has dramatic implications for whether the flood was global or not.
In Genesis chapter 8 we're given a record of the recession of the flood and the description of all those on the ark disembarking. A joyous occasion for most, but what about the animals that were sacrificed?
Genesis 7:19 says "all the high mountains everywhere under the heavens were covered." There's not enough water on earth to cover all the mountains today. What happened to all that water? And how high is "15 cubits" (vs. 20)?
After discussing in detail Genesis 7:11 and its interpretations according to several creation/flood models, the remainder of Genesis chapter 7 is now considered. The rationale for choosing to understand the narrative refers only to a local flood is shared by Dr. Scripture, who once did just that.
Can the Hydroplate model many creationists propose to explain the effects of the flood we observe on earth today in conjunction with what the Creator did on Day 2 of creation be reconciled with Gen 1:8, "And God called the expanse heaven."?
Could the Hydroplate model explain the source of the prevalence of sedimentary layers around the globe and the division of the continents on it? Dr. Scripture discusses these Hydroplate model proposals.
Different creation/flood models are used by creationists to describe the cause and dynamics of what Genesis 7:11 says. Dr. Scripture discusses the Hydroplate model in particular.
The sources of water for the flood described in Genesis 7:11 are explained differently by different biblical creation/flood models. Dr. Scripture begins an overview of the models; vapor canopy, catastrophic plate tectonics and hydroplate.
In the description of the global flood covering over 3 chapters in Genesis, no verse is more important than Genesis 7:11. Dr. Scripture begins a detailed discussion of the meaning of this verse.
At the start of Genesis chapter 7, many decades have passed since the Lord first spoke to Noah. Noah has built the ark and preached to the world, but saw no fruit during all those years. Yet, Noah continued to walk with the Lord. What a wonderful example of true faith for us all to follow.

In this prayer of Moses he addresses the Lord as Creator. In it Moses describes the vast difference between God's transcendence and Man's transience. This Psalm is referred to by 3 New Testament writers, and phrases from this well known Psalm are frequently quoted by God's people today.
