God's timing is perfect. After two years of sharing her name through mutuals, Sharlene and I connected during the pandemic. As our friendship progressed, I noticed how much the Lord's glory shone through her, even in her silence. She agreed to perform at the latest Naked and Exposed showcase in July of 2021 and ended up penning the poem that reflects the show's theme.

If you are interested in listening to the replay, purchase tickets here.

In this episode, we discuss grief, God's timing, and moving forward.

FULL POEM

Over time we evolve. We stop resembling our childhood homes. Our exteriors age, renovations take place, we relocate, desiring to root into stable grounds for seasonal storms do blow through, and unexpected fires burn away what was. We are left to face the ashes of what's next? What have I learned? How can I be better? Pain is all that remains until we decide to make art out of a new day. Over time we evolve, Sitting here in admiration for the person we are becoming, Full of wonder and hope.

It’s been a couple of years since we went all in surrendering our will for His. It shows. We look more at peace now. The internal wages war With an all too powerful force, Taking thoughts captive Without entertaining. We realize it was never about being the best, It was about giving our best. At all times. Minus the striving. We see, The son did rise, The sun keeps shining On this morning.

And tomorrow brings its own puzzle pieces to compose. Today we dance freely, without care of stepping offbeat. We chose to show up. We learned it’s not about being The best, but giving it all we got. And for three years we’ve given all we got. We’ve transformed, transforming with a whole lot more to give, A whole lot more to become, A whole lot more. Quiet seasons require a new surrendered trust. Make a promise to God to keep going even when those we thought would stay, stop. Stand your ground, be rooted. Most plants outgrow their pot.

God is doing a great work.

Keep going!

Tyree and I met in college through our campus' spoken word organization, word of mouth. Together in 2015, we penned a poem titled Black Pain. In 2021, they decided to remake it through their redeemed-in-Christ lens but focused on the head and heart relationship of faith and doubt. The entire showcase is available for replay at janaecarlee.com.

In this episode, we discuss various topics about redemption and transformation like:

  • Our journeys BACK to christ
  • The honesty of life
  • How to keep going despite hardship
  • The elder brother vs. the prodigal son
  • Reflection point to journal: Do you believe IN God? Or do you believe GOD?

A bitter-sweet, vulnerable season—BUT WE MADE IT!

  • Delight yourself in GOD
  • Continuously seek first the Kingdom and righteousness.
  • There is a difference between want and need.
  • Invite God in.
  • Relationship with GOD is the goal.
  • Endure
  • God will use whatever he desires (including people) to get us to where we need to be.

In today's episode, we address singleness at the root and recap what season 3 was all about. Some of the things we've gone through are because of the decisions we've made; whether good or bad.

"Brokenness stays broken when no one challenges the sickness of same ole' story to get well."

Keep going! It's only up from here! Naked and exposed the showcase 2021 is July 17. Text showcase to 9195685610 to receive all the updates on the official release.

Jasmine, Jasmine, Jasmine is the friend you didn't know you needed until she shows up and redefines what genuine friendship should look like. I'm grateful for her life and friendship. Today we sit down and talk about faith and boldness around her journey to coming into Christ and maintaining her relationship with Him. She fosters intimacy and the supernatural with God in so many incredible ways. It's beautiful to witness.

Pull up a seat and listen to us discuss what God has done and is doing! She keeps it honest—emphasizing the peace of the Lord.

  • Are you resting in the peace of the Lord?
    Are you activating your faith?
    Are you walking in boldness?

You got this! #keepgoing #onlyupfromhere

Leah Nicole is your disruptive coach! The Lord uses her to disrupt your comfort zone to shift and pivot you in the right direction with Him. Pull up a seat and sit with us as we navigate the space of authenticity, womanhood, entrepreneurship, and giving ourselves the permission to become who God has called us to be.

This journey requires risk. The future requires an investment. "Investing looks like time and money." We must invest in where we are headed.

We must ask ourselves really tough questions—deeper questions than the surface to get to a core belief.

What's needed to become:

  • Reflection—Disrupt the lies—about self, capabilities, perspective.
  • Discipline—Be decided to do and move in the direction headed.
  • Consistent—Do the heart work, hard work, remain steadfast, forward-moving.
  • Application—When you believe you'll move, you change.

We are unique in our own way! There is no one out here doing what we do like we do. There are blueprints to see what's possible.

GO BACK TO THE BIBLE!

Who are you becoming?

What areas do you need to reflect upon?

This week we sit down with the amazing Francine Ott to discuss being tired and still showing up with self and God. Many of us have been experiencing lethargy in the spiritual, emotional, and mental space.

"And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9).

What does it look like for you to show up with God when you are tired?

  • God is calling us higher.
  • God wants us to give Him our yes continuously.
  • God wants to stretch our faith in this season.

"A surrendered yes in the midst of exhaustion; tiredness. We have to understand tiredness does not necessarily mean we are doing something wrong. It can honestly mean God is about to shift somethings because we've come to the end of a season."

Give yourself grace, friend. God is the strength you need in your weakness. Keep going! Use this as a resource to continue moving forward.

"Be okay with grieving what was to make space for what is to come."

It starts with the yes. Are you willing to give God another yes?

We sit down with Christian Prather (CP) to discuss showing up with God in contentment—that turned into a deep dive into topics like shame and vulnerability. Christian is a content creator for Christ. He co-hosts a podcast, 100 Conversations: CP and Chris navigate essential conversations in a relatable fashion, providing valuable insight and reflection. Whether it be business, faith, relationships, or just day-to-day experiences, they will be sure to bring their unique perspectives, and they hope you will as well.

Contentment looks like honesty with self first. We must be honest with ourselves first. We are humans first. To deny our humanity is a dangerous space. We are to produce from the healed place of our trauma. We are so much more than things to be consumed. We are people who have a purpose. Our identity is rooted in God, not what we do.

Reflection point: Are you healing? Are we content? To bring a person through a thing, we have to go through it first. Assess a few things at this moment—ask yourself where are you holding shame?

We must establish our roots in this season. We will be people who are deeply planted, even in discomfort. We will not uproot. Let's have a critical conversation with ourselves and those in our community! Contentment is the ultimate goal.

Bye-bye shame, doubt, rejection, fear, and everything else that can not exist where God is taking us!

We sit down with Shelby Leinbach to discuss how she shows up with God through writing and consistency. Shelby is four years into turning her blog into an Instagram page that inspires thousands daily through her words. Her blog started from a simple instruction from the Lord. Shelby's writing was a form of communicating with the Lord.

"The Holy Spirit was clear in telling me to write for other people and write on my blog."

Shelby discovered her purpose: Using her testimony on how far she's come and my writing abilities, and how she connects with words, how it flows out of her impacts others. In writing, she found her true worth in Christ. From writing, Shelby created a job as a virtual assistant. The most encouraging thing is that she can live and help people but still have her hobby and writing gift. Her love for that is merged into it.

Reflection Point:

  1. What if this (writing; insert your skillsets) somehow impacts people

The future requires a decision to surrender and submit to what God wrote for us to discover. Consistency is key! It's deciding to show up every day in our giftings by yielding them to God, allowing Him to get the glory from them. Longevity speaks to a God-ordained idea.

When God gives us a dream—it's enormous! Money is a resource and a tool. He knows what we need! He knows who we are to become.

Just start!

Bonus Content Time! I have decided to sit down with additional individuals, near and far, showing up online, allowing God to get the glory out of their life.

Today we sit down with Kevin Wilson—a Christian content creator determined for God to get the glory out of his life. Kevin turned a simple phrase, "Jesus Died For You," inspired by John 3:16 —"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life," into a shirt for others to wear.

Friends, sharing the gospel is as simple as we allow it to be. Our life becomes the sign and message for those connected to us to witness. Kevin is an example of allowing God to get the glory out of his life.

God is just looking for us to start, to trust Him, to keep going!

God wants us to partner with Him in courage, in all we do, for Him to show us the way as He orchestrates our steps through our obedience—verse to meditate on Proverbs 3:5-6.

Reflection Points:

  1. Take your most popular saying from conversations and design it for a shirt.
  2. At least start something to know what you like or don't like.
  3. Have the courage to show up!
  4. Show up in consistency.
  5. It's in authenticity our creativity can go as far as God needs it to go for the story He wrote.
  6. God is incredibly intentional about what He is calling us to do and giving us the grace to get it wrong. Hold only the courage as God reveals to us who He is a father and provides us with the truth. Overtime It was successful. We just had to allow ourselves to go through this process of becoming.
  7. In college, we lose ourselves or find Jesus.
  8. See God for who He is!

All in all, Seek first the Kingdom and righteousness (relationship with Christ), and God will add all the things onto us.

Child-like faith summed up is not having to question everything. In today's episode, we sit down with Zach Hallow and discuss various topics around faith, healing, and surrender from the perspective of salvation and sanctification.

This is truly a journey of becoming! We discuss various touchpoints on where we had to:

  1. divorce the opinions or ideas of other people,

  2. overcoming anxiety,

  3. taking the risk to do what God calls us to do.

We must focus on God's expectations and not the pressure of the world. Sit down with us and listen to our dialogue around these various things pertaining to faith and surrender.

I don't believe everything we go through (experience) is a waste (rather good or bad) God can use it when submitted (repentance).

Reflection Points:

  • What does child-like faith look like to you?
  • What is God calling you to do through the way of surrender and obedience in this season?

Sit down with Reggie Pate and me as we dialogue around showing up with God in our voice and leadership. Reggie is in a season where he is allowing his voice to be heard from the front. "My voice is its own. It's unique in its own way. God gave me this voice for a reason."

To be heard comes with many challenges. The biggest challenge is facing our own minds. Feelings of fear and rejection often make us feel limited. We can't do it on our own. We must show up with God and do the work.

Leadership requires an active voice and honorable characteristics. Voice and honorable characteristics are attached to identity. Identity connects to a relationship with the Lord.

Our voice has power: the power to build up and the power to tear down. "Sometimes leadership means saying nothing at all and allowing those around you to rise to the leadership occasion and lead."

We are all called to be leaders in our sphere of influence. Community and healthy relationships with other believers headed in the same direction are an antidote to those same battles. We shouldn't do life alone! God sets the standard! In a relationship with Him, we can connect deeper with others. Connection brings breakthrough!

Your voice is needed!

Your leadership skills and perspective is needed!

Reflection Point: How are you showing up with God in your voice and leadership skills? Where are the pain points (i.e., comparison, fear, doubt...)? What is God's truth (the study of scripture is required)?

Special shout out to Kevin Wilson of NormDiff Productions! Kevin took on the Naked and Exposed: The Podcast as our audio producer in January of 2021. His editing is A1! #OnlyUpFromHere. Hire him for all your audio or visual needs!

How are you really doing? (Point of reflection) It's time to have critical conversations with ourselves to recognize what can not go into our future. Often we say what we will not become and become it—if there is no peace, there is bondage.

Let's allow ourselves to enter into deeper depths of intimacy with the Lord as Father. Good fruit is the proof of a transformed life.  Let's count it all joy during times of testing (James 1:2-4). We're becoming perfect and complete, needing nothing.

We are not alone.

This pandemic revealed a new layer of self-reflection around our community and the ability to just be with self and God. When we are unsettled within ourselves, we struggle to see the beauty of solitude. For many of us, we have filled voids, spaces with people, and "busyness." The loss we are feeling is not to hurt us. The loss we've experienced is to invite God into the discomfort of this season. Remember, seasons change. seasons look different based on our decisions or placement from the Lord to show us more of who we are becoming.

Be still and KNOW that HE is God (Psalm 46:10).

In this episode, we reflect with Eva Zarzar around where she is, friendships, loneliness, and rest during the middle of this pandemic. In return, it ushers us into taking a deep dive into where were are. It's important for us to recognize where we are, where we are going, and where we have been. Though we are alone we aren't lonely. God is still with us.

Point of Reflection: 1. Do you believe God is with you? 2. Identify the lies of who He is. 3. Write down who His word says He is. 4. Ask Him to show you himself today. 5. How are you showing up with God in this season?

This is the episode we all didn't know we needed. Listen to it. Allow the Lord to guide you deeper in what is He wants to show you about you and Himself. Keep going! #TheShowMustGoOn #OnlyUpFromHere

Friendships! Friendships! Friendships! We can sometimes go into friendships not defining the roles.

In today’s episode, I sit down with Jaquan, a great friend of mine, as we discuss the importance of friendship from both, male and female. Healing is ushered in through the various relationships God calls us into.

“Once you know the value for yourself, you’re able to set healthy boundaries in your friendships and what you need from those friendships.”

Points of reflection:

  1. Who is God? What is His nature? What is His heart towards you? (Do not answer this based on who people say He is. Answer for yourself and allow God to reveal to you the truth of who He is. He does speak. I speak peace over your mind, in Jesus' name, to hear Him clearly at this moment. Amen )

  2. Who does God say you are? (Not defined by shortcomings, experiences, upbringing, but based on who He is.)

  3. What type of friend do you want to be, and what type of friend are you? What does friendship look like for you?

  4. Have you defined your friendships and communicated expectations? For example, loyalty is defined differently all across the board—discuss definitions.

Take some time to listen to this episode and reflect upon the questions during quiet time with the Lord. He will guide you to the answers. Friendships are vital for who we are becoming! Let's stop allowing the enemy to distract us from forming meaningful connections.

Happy New Year, Friends. We survived 2020!  Hello, 2021.

This season is requiring another level of discipline. It's for the decided! It's for those who will not be double-minded in their callings to step into the sanctification further. In today's episode, we talk about the importance of discipline and what is needed to step into the more God is calling us into this season.

("Anything God requires of us initiates another level of endurance."—download my free ebook, Endure, now at janaecarlee.com )

"2020 was a test to see if we were really seating in the heavenly with the Lord. Are we really standing on the word of the Lord?"

God's word is sharper than any two-edged sword. He is calling us into a deeper place of intimacy with Him. What will our response be? Will, we inwardly reflect upon the parts of our heart that need a touch from Him? or will we continue to put off what we could be doing today?

Many of us are called to fund the kingdom and influence in marvelous ways—not for our glory, but to reflect God's glory upon the earth through our life.

After you listen, I would love to know your thoughts. Text me at 9195685610

Remember, the Podcast schedule has changed. New episodes will be posted every Tuesday until the season ends.

Today we sit down with Gabrielle Hicks, via zoom, to discuss showing up in the midst of challenges, emotionally. Forgive the audio—it's a learning process. Fun fact: Gabby is my amazing cousin. Her presence in my life is a blessing! It's an honor to do life with her. This episode is about having an honest conversation. We've both seen better days.

In vulnerability is the willingness, to be honest with self first. God is a jealous God (Exodus 34:14). Showing up is being present and showing up with God. "God is always showing up for us. Now He needs us to meet Him in the middle and show up for Him." Showing up is being present and showing up with God.

How do you show up in the midst of challenges? Let's chat about it.

"Closure is a way to keep us bound. If we're waiting for somebody to acknowledge us or apologize to us, that is, in my opinion, not the heart of the Lord. The goal is not to get stuck in what people do or don't do. The goal is to hear the voice of the Lord in the situation and move past it, to move on, to allow God to give us joy for our mourning. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. God is a master storyteller. God knows who he will use to get us from point a to point be."

I thought God said the guy in my last relationship was my husband, but I got it wrong…

What we desire may not be the desires God wants for us. He knows best because He wrote our story. He provides truth to our perspectives when it is rooted in hurt and brokenness—If we allow God.

"I didn't want to show up today. I did not want to record this podcast episode. If I'm honest, I wanted to wallow in my despair[…] God's strength is made perfect in my weakness. I choose at this moment for God to be glorified in my weakness."

We get it wrong. Humility is being okay with admitting that we got it wrong and asking God to show us what we needed to learn from it. It's in suffering we know how to endure (Romans 3:3-5). This same suffering develops our character and provides hope for what God is doing in and through us. "The whole point is to mature in character and perspective to become more whole in Christ." I am a better woman because of this defining moment.

For the girl like me, ask God for clarity around your last heartbreak. Ask him to show you the truth of the story He wrote and how He plans to use the decisions we make to become a part of our good. "God has a plan! It's not an end of a chapter when we get it wrong. It's not an end of a chapter when the person does you wrong. It's not an end of a chapter when your brokenness has you to become a victim. It's not an end of a chapter when your brokenness has you to be the one who offended."

We should desire to get to a place where we can bless the person who hurt us, bless the person they will marry, and when we can look at life through a journey of healing and discovery—It's not always about us. It's about what God needs to get done in and through us. God is faithful! Even when the apology never comes and the relationship ends.

Let's talk about it! Text your thoughts and reflections about this episode to me at 9195685610 .

"If you're learning you're growing."

In today's episode, we sit down with David Johnson to discuss Showing up with God in Healing. Trigger Warning: We recorded this episode the day after Chadwick Boseman died. Chadwick showed up in the midst of pain and discomfort to allow God's glory to shine through him. "Because He was a believer the narrative looks different."

Reflection point: what encourages you to keep going and to keep showing up?

"I want to last. I don't want to just arrive. I don't want to just show up, I want to last. Showing up is lasting. It's a function of not being consumed by what you are responsible for. You want to be faithful to it. In order to be faithful to it, you want to be healthy. " Healing is important. We discuss the definitions of healthiness and faithfulness. We aren't to become our functions. "Being healthy is that you know yourself well and you give yourself space to be all that you are." Ask why! The time is now! We have to do the work.

Imagine watching a movie where you know information the individual characters are unaware of… and decisions are made from this internal place as your heart begins to break—because based on how they respond, in one moment what’s going on behind the scenes where the audience (you and me) is seen gleaning upon the screen is a reality the individual characters will never know what each other have sacrificed to become. #TheSHowMustGoOn

Truth is we don't always know the story of those around us or afar. God is in the conflict. He is in the discomfort. He is aware of the decisions we must make. Even those decisions we make to please him... some fall short.

"Disclaimer: destinies are altered due to one decision is a moment." Was it God’s will? For only God knows His intended outcome—yet He has factored in our ability to choose the equation that encompasses the larger picture.

In today's episode, we discuss God knows everything about our life—we are the characters in the movie. With Him, we can overcome the shame, doubt, and far that may attempt to have us abort the assignment. There is grace. We must give grace too. Let's continue to Matthew 6:33. Stay the course! "God didn't say it would be easy! He said it would be worth it." Choose God despite how we feel and DO NOT SHRINK BACK!

In today's episode, we sit down with "Mama" Shondra to discuss  Showing up with God. It looks like forming a relationship with Him anchored in trust. There is an active part. We have to be willing to show up with Him. We have to be willing to invite Him into the space that isn't so favorable. It's not easy to say "oh my heart is gross here" or "look at how I am responding to this situation."

Showing up with God is a partnership.

"Showing up is a decision just like quitting is a decision." To quit is not an option. We'll venture through the various factors of how and why we should show up with God. Our prayer is that you are encouraged wherever you are on the journey to keep going! Despite what it looks like or feels like God knows where you are at this moment. He sees you! He wants us to hold onto him in the midst of it all.

"It's in times like this we can sense a shift in the midst of that remains, as a gentle reminder everything will be okay. The old fades away. The present remains as tomorrow yield its own fruit."

Welcome back! We are back! The Show Must Go On! Guess what? God still sits on the throne. We left off at the beginning of quarantine—for some, it's still our present reality. God is a promise-keeping God. Let's discover the power behind our voice, own our stories, and make it look good. How are you showing up this season? In life? In friendships? In healing?

In today's episode, we discuss what Season 3 will uncover. The goal is to use the information discussed together as tools to venture further on our journey of becoming. Two years and 3 shows later, season 3 is the most vulnerable yet. "It's about showing up despite it all. It's in the midst of the unknown that God is here, that God is present."

In this episode, we sit down with David Johnson II and discuss areas in which pride attempted to creep in with its friend condemnation. God desires to be our friend—He wants to be our companion. Like always we echo the importance of a healthy community and the importance of self-awareness. Forgive me, I get tripped up in this episode. I had to truly depend on the Lord to help bring me back to the main point. Perfectionism, contentment, pride, are all areas I am constantly being refined in daily. At no point have I arrived. It is my hope you too learn how to be vulnerable and process through the areas God highlights.

In today's episode, we discuss the reality of showing up when you don't want to, taking every thought captive (2 Corinthians 10:5) and being content. CONTENTMENT IS A REAL-THING! It's possible. It's desirable. It's where we should reside. Listen, the Lord says to be anxious for NOTHING! Fear does not belong here. The desire is to be a healing, whole people doing greater works than He for the kingdom! Why? Deliverance is the children's bread and God said WE WOULD DO GREATER WORKS! We've been in the room and surrounded by too many greats to not be great ourselves. Be great. Be healed. Be whole. Be transformed. The key is to show up, be presented, and to not carry uncommunicated expectations. We need a healthy community! We just need to allow ourselves to be processed and endure the race—before you know it you're reaping the fruit of what you prayed for today. It's a fruit in alignment with God's desires for us.

Disclaimer: We do not own the right to the song sung. In this episode, we sit down with Solomon Headen and discuss allowing ourselves to be spirit-led. When God says, “Shift,” how do you respond? Leading up to the show we had to work out a point-of-tension and shift according to what God wanted to be made manifest.

God can not heal who you pretend to be. We will not be perfect, but we are being perfect. We shift because it’s best. We shift because the shift is a lesson needed for our character to be refined more.

Shift.

These moments teach us to endure, renew our minds when our minds are fixed in one direction. In today’s episode, we sit down with Reggie Pate to discuss a shift from coming from behind the drums to singing in the showcase and how to show up even when uncomfortable. God calls us. When He calls us He qualifies us and processes us to have the character to sustain the call—“The goal is not to continue hiding when God says go, grow, climb. For we shall enter in due season reaping because we faint not in doing well.”

This season I wanted to incorporate all the individuals who lead worship, danced or hosted during the showcase. This is a space for each individual to share their stories based on the song selection and poems performed before or after their set. Reggie Pate is an amazing musician by night and a math teacher by day. During Naked and Exposed: The Showcase 2019 Reggie Pate played the drums and sang “Open Spaces” by Housefires.

In Today’s episode, we discuss the importance of being in the presence of the Lord as He helps us identify the areas we’ve been assigned to overcome for us, our future and our legacy. What we do now helps prepare our children tomorrow and their children following.

We’ve been called to arise as remnants and stand in the gap as the ones who break the generational cycles repeating in our bloodlines. However, we must sit still long enough to recognize them. We must be willing to do the work by 1. spending time with the Lord. 2. Taking our thoughts captive (2 Corinthians 10:5) that do not align with 3. Philippians 4:8—is our current thought true? noble? right? pure? lovely? admirable? excellent? Or praiseworthy? (The word says to think about such things). If not, cast it down.

It’s not an easy task, but rewarding when you grow through the trial knowing you can rejoice and boast in the Lord because of His strength in helping us endure. The key is studying the word and growing in a relationship with the Lord. He wants to commune with us. He wants us to know Him intimately, encountering Him in His presence.

When was the last time you spent time intentional time with the Lord? When what the last time you just rested in His presence? It’s time. He is calling us into deeper fellowship. He wants us to know Him as a friend. You got this! I and our cloud of witnesses are cheering you on.

In this episode, we sit down with Francine Ott. Francine Ott is all-of-that-and-a-bag-of-chips. She’s a teacher, mentor, sister, dancer, mother, counselor, friend and so much more than. During Naked and Exposed: The Showcase 2019 Francine Ott partnered with the vision the Lord gave me and danced to Just Breathe by Nicole Serrano— “Come out of hiding.”

Raw.

Real.

Vulnerable.

We have to take a holistic view of our past to understand how we’ve created the now based on our upbringing and experience. “When you block out the bad, you also block out the good and what God wants to do.”

God is saying…

I am your covering

I am your protector.

I am your provider.

May we have the courage to look within and allow God to help us get back into alignment with Him. May we start to see ourselves the way God sees us. May we be unashamed at embracing the truth and fullness of who He has called us to be. We must sit still long enough to hear God speaking., listen and respond accordingly.

The goal for season 2 of the podcast is to incorporate all the individuals who lead worship or hosted during the 2019 showcase. This is a space for them to share their stories based on their placement in the show. Gabby was the host of Naked and Exposed: The Showcase, October 13, 2018, and July 20, 2019.

So, What profits a man to gain the world and lose his soul?…

Prayer is the change agent needed. It creates intimacy with the Lord (closeness). To become the fullness of who God has called us to be, we must allow ourselves to be exposed by facing the junk revealed. We’re already are naked and exposed before him (Hebrews 4:13). He wants to heal what He reveals.

  1. Pray

  2. Listen

  3. Surrender

I dare you to ask God to do with your life whatever He will and watch Him move radically. Fear has no authority. God doesn’t give you the spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. Do you hear that? God is speaking back, shh listen. Start by praying now.

(Posted an Hour Before My Job Assignment was Complete) Deep conviction feel upon me during service yesterday—and I will no longer abandon my posts. God’s given us each tool that is vital for the doors we are to unlock for the people coming after us. Condemnation is the thief of creativity. Comparison is the thief of joy. Fear is the thief of love. These thieves will have us forfeiting the assignments and uprooting what’s been planted inside us—focus. Climb back onto the altar. There is more to be purged!

God’s promise to Joseph purged his character until it was time for his dreams (God’s plan) to come true—Psalms 105:19...

For too long, I've been in-between a rock and a hard place discovering more components of me, yet design always comes back home.

We’ve been standing at the cliff too long, wrestling with the idea of jumping into the unknown. We’ve known there is much more than what we've been settling for. We’ve known, we’ve been locking ourselves into boxes unable to grow. All you needed was the nudge—soar. God will catch you on the land.

Today is the day I take the first step, encouraging you to do the same.

I am happy to announce the launch of my design agency—Kreative Roots: Building Sustainable Brands Visually, Strategically.

I told God if He opens the door I will run full speed ahead. If it's not for me slam the door in my face.

Why worry?

God wrote the plan, we are to trust Him in taking steps to fulfill it. We must go through pruning processes. We overcome trials and tribulations. When your perspective shifts, you can see hurdles from a positive lens.

When my job let me go it was because my season there ended. I completed my assignment. God confirmed His word. God gave me warning and signs to hold on to. Plus, one door closing means something else is right around the corner. We must focus. We must listen to the stillness of His voice guiding us.

God wants to teach us in this season surrender, who He is as a Father—protector, and provider, to know His voice.

"I celebrate with you, you won't be there long. Remember why you're there."

What is God saying to you in this season?

Are we willing to keep going even when it doesn’t make sense?

“Even when you are in the pasture and no one has sent for you yet. “ Trust me, I truly understand what it looks like to be in between God’s word and a couple of His promises. It starts with the mind… our perspective.

Delay is not denial.

….When you find yourself back at the bottom of the mountain, don’t be afraid to climb up it again. This time speaking to it… MOUNTAIN, MOVE.

By the end of the season, we will have a better understanding of who we are and who God is calling us to become. This is a journey of becoming more like Him, daily. The goal is to stand unashamed at being naked and exposed.

We've been on this journey for 7 months—look how far we've come. It's bittersweet, but worth every moment. As we come to the end of season one, I just want to say thank you to everyone who came along for the ride. Thank you for trusting me! Whatever God is up to in your life, I am excited to see it manifest for the best.

Today's episode we discuss why you have to lose yourself in order to get back into the place God is calling you—that sometimes happens by laughing more, letting down our guards and just breathing. He has us! Do you believe that? Love you all! See you in August. Remember, Keep going.

Thank you for joining us on today’s episode where we discuss the importance of being transparent as we stand boldly in what we’ve walked through and experienced.

Healing can be found where shame and doubt cannot be because we spoke up. Because we allowed our truth (perceived reality) to be challenged in order for the truth to be ushered in. Yet, God’s already given us the tools: His word. Guess what? He is not a man that should like. BUT we must know Him to know what we have access to as a child of His: our inheritance.

Your identity birthed out of brokenness speaks to the testimony God is writing to set you free.

God has a sense of humor. I accidentally skipped this poem back at the beginning. It’s number 5 on the list of spoken word poems (or so I thought), before now. Yet, He is so intentional to allow himself to get the glory out of our mistakes. You know, Romans 8:28? All things work together for the good of those that love Him and are called according to His purpose.

He used my mistake of “overlooking” this poem, to set up for an intentional episode to relate directly with a message He wanted me to deliver now. What’s cool is He has always and will always be there. He’s in the details. Be encouraged! You got this! Wherever you are the journey, keep walking…

It's easy to miss the intricate details that make up our beings for the glory of the kingdom—oh, how pain is used as an instrument to shape our realities, often perverted for us to forfeit our true identities. Yet, God has always been there even when we didn't have (or still don't) have language and understanding to believe, perceive.

God is a patient and loving Father, creator. Jesus died for you and me. In order to become, we must release our grip of comfortability for God to reveal to us truth. Truth transcends reality; especially when it doesn't make sense. When logic is present, faith cannot be.

I can say, I am who I am and who I am becoming because of His strength made perfect in my weakness. Trust me, I've tried to do it without Him—failed every time. Are you willing to allow Him to show you the truth, so you can really see who you are and receive the inheritance that has been laid before you, waiting on you to discover?

Editors Note: "I intertwined Jacob and Joseph's Name; The Focus is ON JOSEPH—I apologize*

For a majority of my life, I begged and pleaded for people to be in it; to be consistent. As I have been journeying with the Lord, only He can fulfill my deepest desires all while forming my character. He rescued me from the desolate pit. The same pit that started my process of becoming.

• Recognize your needs for the savior.

• Rest in your authority.

• Prepare for what is to come.

• Repent (turn from) the same old patterns and mistakes.

• Renew your mind (study, meditate-ON-Scripture)

• Think about what you think about.

• USE WISDOM!

• Be planted.

Stop attempting to convince people who do not have the capacity to see your worth or value it to value you—only God can fill your cup. This comes at a cost! Listen to why—the results are rewarding.

We are in a process of being perfected, transformed to look a little more like Jesus each and every day. It’s unconventional. It’s uncomfortable, but who we think we are may not be who we have been called to be?

The question is: are you willing to surrender who you think you are, as God reveals to you the truth of who He is—for you to learn who you truly are? and discover, the problems you were created to solve, the power and authority behind the voice you have, and the future that is waiting for you to start your process, today?

We must come to know God as Father. We must love ourselves first before we can love anyone else. We must surrender and submit to the process of being processed—we must study the word for ourselves and resting in the truth we have been freely given.

In this episode, we discuss the importance of recognizing the need for healing by standing in your truth, NO LONGER HIDING, regardless of how disgusting it is. The goal is to stand before the people naked and unashamed (Gen. 2:25) because we are already naked and exposed before the Lord (Heb. 4:13) —yet, God can not heal what you can not see or you simply keep hiding.

God qualifies those who He calls… He works all things together for our good and His glory (Rom. 8:28) You are CALLED! You are Important! You Matter! Who you are now may not be who He has called you to be.This is a process. We are in the process of becoming—start today! Your future is waiting.
