Last year we witnessed Naomi Sherman make a can of soup look like it had come out of a 5-star kitchen!

This year you guys are going to follow along with Naomi in her "Food Photography Follow Along" workshop at 12pm on Saturday! She has or will be supplying you with a shopping list of everything you can get from the supermarket and follow along with Naomi in creating some amazing looking mini cupcakes! Yes, that’s right, you get to take some of the best food shots you’ve taken and reward yourself afterwards with cupcakes!!!

For her second workshop "Ugly Beautiful" at 10am on Sunday, Naomi did a survey with the BFOP’ers about what the ugliest food is, the results are in, and this year Naomi is going to show us all how to make a canned stew look better than it’s ever looked before!

I sure won’t be missing these ones!

Are you sick of blog post after blog post telling you about all the hard fast photography rules you need to follow to capture a great image? What if you could be free of those rules and just be totally creative without needing any fancy equipment?

Bruce Moyle is going to show you how to break the rules and take even better photos while doing it in his Creating Abstract Portraits workshop at 6pm on Saturday so if you’re looking for something new that you might not have played around with before, make sure you come along to Bruce’s workshop.

My wife keeps telling me to stop pretending to be butter.

But I'm on a roll now...

If you've been to BFOP before, after reading the above, I'm sure our resident king of puns and dad jokes Karl Ludik comes to mind! But he isn't just the king of puns and dad jokes, he is also the king of sometimes useful and interesting, sometimes useless knowledge on photography, language and history to name a few!

He is also an amazing cook and phenomenal photographer. I know right... what can't he do!?

Karl has fused these 2 passions together for most of his career and is bringing some really cool sounding workshops to BFOP this year!

1 - Food - The Next Steps. Which will be all about shooting food with creative lighting! Karl will show us some different creative ways we can take our food photography to another level. He's also going to show us how to plate our food up properly!

2 - Understanding Still Life. Which will be something a little different. We're going to learn some amazingly interesting history about what Still Life photography is and of course,  how we can do it at home!

Karl always brings some fantastic knowledge and fun to BFOP and you'd be hard done to find someone as passionate about what he does! Have a listen for more info and don't miss Karl's workshops!

While seen as decent, considerate, and reflective, he is also awkward. This is an exerpt from a bio of Charlie Brown. The Peanuts character, you know with the pet dog Snoopy? The similarities between the charater Charlie Brown and our High Country local Charlie Brown are uncanny!

Charlie is lucky enough to call High Country home and we are all very jealous that he will be one of the very few people in Bright during the Bright Festival of Photography. Charlie is all about sports and mountians, he will be taking us through his sports workshops, featuring downhill mountain bikers and then will be heading into the mountains to show us all the best spots to shoot from when we can bet back up into high country!

Shooting weddings must be fun right?! Anne Scott Virtue is our resident wedding expert and despite Matt and Nicks efforts to talk us all out of shooting weddings, Anne's here to not only show us how to shoot weddings but how to do all that other behind the scenes stuff no one thinks much about. Like communicating with the Bride and Groom.

But that's not all! Anne will also be running a Maternity and Newborn workshop, once again not only showing us how to capture amazing shots but the other important stuff like safe handling of a newborn! As a new dad I'll certainly be truning in for that one!

Check out Anne's work at White Shutter Photography!

There were 3 horses, 2 dogs, a pony, a cat and a farrier (and a donkey if you ask Nick). This describes one of Keren Dobia's images and its shot in a single capture. Complicated comes to mind when describing Kez's shots. Complicated and Amazing. Kez is a master of storytelling through her images and she's with us this year to run a studio portrait workshop using selfies and she is also going to help us get better at using photoshop! I know I can't wait for the photoshop workshop!

The age old question for photographers is 'Should I specialise or should I generalise?' and you bet our BFOP hosts have some pretty strong opinions on it. Before recording this ep we caught Nick rocking back and forth in his garage staring intensely at his freshly polished Ducati singing 'you are my sunshine, my ONLY sunshine...' to his motorbike whilst demanding that you should stick to one genre (motorbikes) whilst Matt nearly died leaving the house tripping over his wildlife lens which landed him face first in an underwater housing that he once used on a wedding... the generalist. Who is correct? Is there a correct? You decide.
