At Speak Free, presented by Black Caucus Movement, our intent is to host necessary discussions in the black community, using the power of each individual voice to manifest ideas into the collective reality. With each new discussion, we hope to transport the guests and the listener into a space of free flowing creativity and collaboration, with the ultimate goal of finding real solutions and resource acquisition for the advancement of the black community, and in turn, communities alike. In this episode of Speak Free, we converse with three of the Minneapolis protest organizers following the murder of George Floyd. Together we process the legacy of George Floyd as a mentor and how his death inspired the people close with him to take to the streets, followed close behind by the most other cities in the country and even world. They share stories of how the events of the uprising brought them and their community closer together, all guided by their 'collective conscious' and mutual love. Through these conversations we brainstorm ways in which the black community can connect to the 'collective conscious' and attain liberation through education and abolition, in creative new forms.
In order to motivate powerful change, we must first scrutinize the accomplishments and shortcomings of past anti-racist activism. Through this analysis of past and present, we can revive the civil rights movement and achieve the change we desire.
