Do you ever find yourself leaving a church service or a deeply spiritual experience and asking the question: "What now?" This often is the case for most people. We listen to great sermons or have great spiritual experiences at church, but we leave unsure about how this impacts our lives.
This podcast is dedicated to exploring what it means to be a person of faith Monday-Saturday. Living as a person of faith in a culture without faith. So join us in a conversation where we explore politics, creation care, social justice, and much more!

As our leadership was dreaming up this vision, we looked at Scripture and saw that the earliest expressions of the church met in homes and it was rare that all of the believers were together. Today, most churches have found themselves spending a large portion of their budget on buildings that they rarely use. Not WellHouse. We want to keep our overhead low so we can spend our money on the things that matter, being the hands and feet of Jesus. So, we meet in the homes of our members for the majority of our meetings. Once per month, we all come together at a rented facility to devote our selves together as the whole church for the purpose of worshipping God together.

In this episode Pastor Cullen and Clayton discuss toxic masculinity in the church and their own experiences with toxic pastors, as well as discuss Mark Driscoll and the Rise and Fall of Mars Hill. Trauma is a very scary thing, and something that we should talk about. In the history of the church we have not done a good job of talking about trauma and the way that intersects with faith and culture. We often get asked should you abstain from alcohol as a Christian. The answer is sometimes. At WellHouse we don't ask that everyone abstain, but there are reasons that someone would and should abstain. Recently, in the last hundred years or so, the topic of alcohol and drinking as a Christian has been talked about a lot. But has it always been a conversation in the history of the church? Or even more so, what has the stance on the issue been throughout the history of the church? We want to keep our overhead low so we can spend our money on the things that matter, being the hands and feet of Jesus. So, we meet in the homes of our members for the majority of our meetings. Once per month, we all come together at a rented facility to devote our selves together as the whole church for the purpose of worshipping God together.
Christians often times find themselves asking this question, "Can Christians drink alcohol?" Its a common question and people have different perspectives on it, and not all perspectives come solely from the bible. Pastor Cullen wanted to do a series around alcohol looking at both the biblical passages in question, as well as how culture deals with the question of alcohol and what the position has been through church history. As our leadership was dreaming up this vision, we looked at Scripture and saw that the earliest expressions of the church met in homes and it was rare that all of the believers were together. Today, most churches have found themselves spending a large portion of their budget on buildings that they rarely use. Not WellHouse. We want to keep our overhead low so we can spend our money on the things that matter, being the hands and feet of Jesus. So, we meet in the homes of our members for the majority of our meetings. Once per month, we all come together at a rented facility to devote our selves together as the whole church for the purpose of worshipping God together.

Each and everyone of us are handed our faith. Whether that is from our parents, grand parents, friend, pastor, first church, or some online community, the truth remains the same that we all get our faith from someone else. And there may come a time for a lot of people a need to deconstruct that faith in order to make room for more of the faith that is best for us. As Christians, we are called to care for people. We are called to love our neighbor. And according to Jesus our neighbor isn't always the people that we would choose or think for ourselves. Is it helpful to just read the household codes the way that they are written?
