Three college buddies (2 theologians and a musician-turned-bureaucrat) are reunited over the internet, to opine and chat about various topics in the overall orbit of theology, philosophy, and culture.
Welcome back Delinquents!
This is Seth, Christine, and Erica coming to you with another series. This time we're talking about extremism amongst religious people. This includes, as our main example, people who take their own beliefs a bit too far as they interact with others around them who may be . . . different.
Have you ever had someone criticize your clothing as being chosen by the devil?
Does your make-up make others throw their hands up to pray for your soul?
Did you name your cat Pazuzu and now your church group won't come to call?
If so, this is the series for you!
Pt. 1 - We give you the basics. What are we talking about? What's the situation? We also go on a wonderful food-driven tangent.
Pt. 2 - How is extremism in religious belief, motivation, and action causing problems for us all? We explain how our actions and choices can have ill effects on others.
Pt. 3 - What can we do to acknowledge and address forms of extremism? Let's get our pirate ship righted and floating.
So heave-ho me hearties! Grab a bucket and start bailing out that excess water because it's anchors aweigh!

Like a bad dream or perhaps that night of debauchery that you just can't shake, the Sunday School Delinquents have come back to haunt you.
Christine, Erica, and Seth pulled themselves together, grabbed a cup of Sanka - Seth's infused with holy dirt, and lifted anchor. While some changes may be noticeable to the new format of the podcast, we assure you that the crew is much the same.
Christine joins us with her tin foil hat, Erica is still running from the dolls of her past, and Seth is baking in new and improved shapes and sizes.
Come aboard, we'll leave the plank out for you in case you want to jump off.
With trepidation and bittersweet emotion, the Sunday School Delinquents bring our podcast to a close.
In the final episode the team reflects on the changes we've undergone over the last 2+ seasons and reflects on favorite moments of Sunday School Delinquents episodes past.
We're closing this chapter, but look out for team member's new projects coming soon.
Happy trails to you until we meet again!

Are you ready to RUMBLLLLLE?!?!
Welcome to the first ever Theological Streetfighter! Our resident Doctors of Philosophy and Theology have each recruited a team of 10 intellects from the past 2000 years, and they will be going head to head in a battle of Cogitation, Wit, and and Relevance! Refereeing this match will be Christine, who will pick random topics literally out of a hat. Erica and Seth will then pick, at random, one member of their Team, and will present their viewpoint on the topic chosen. Christine will then decide the winner, based on who had the better argument, and her own personal bias.
However, folks, get on our Instagram or Tiktok, and vote for who you think won each round, and who won the first half overall. We'll tally up the votes, and announce the results when we record the second half!
Ready, Set, FINISH 'EM!!!!
Mary Magdalene, the prostitute, right? Check your deets and listen to our episode!
There is much more to Mary Mags than a pretty face. As a matter of fact, she did way more than vogue herself into the 21st century. So who was Mary Magdalene based on what we know? Who did she become based on tradition and tales told? What does she mean to contemporary believers, thinkers, and women?
Boom! We have some answers, we have some nonsense, and Christine has a whole lot of discussion on Godzilla. Don't miss out.
P.S. - Seth tells us what he really thinks about how to pronounce St. Augustine, the saint, not the city.
WELCOME TO SEASON THREE!!!
We are so excited to be back and to have our listeners back, we're all doing what we do best.
This first episode of Season 3 brings back themes of Halloween.
Seth dives in with a new Netflix Limited Series show - Midnight Mass. SPOILERS! He doomed Erica again and got her to watch the horror even as she waits to pick her children up from school. Erica then mercilessly hooks Christine on episode one while she visits! Mwahaha!
The trio then turns to the subject of the dead, specifically our ancestors. Is the veil during the Halloween season and Samhain actually thinner? Can we really interact with our dead loved ones? Hmmm. Come ponder some thoughts with us.
We're nearing the end of our break, and Erica has a story to tell. A birthday party, a 4 month old kitten, an ambulance, two (2!) police squad cars, and the Boss of all Karens.
Enjoy this amazing story of . . . everything wrong with this timeline. We'll be back to a regular schedule soon. Happy October!
It's the last episode of Season Two, so the gang addresses a favorite subject: the overlap of Theology and Pop culture, this time focusing on Film and TV! Christine kicks it off my discussing two favorite TV Shows, Babylon 5 and Stargate, their respective explorations of religious ideas and the pursuit of Truth/ Genuine Divinity. Seth then addresses themes of challenging religious power, authority, and hypocrisy, in Rosemary's Baby, The Witch, and The Devils. Erica had too much to chose from on the pop-culture front, but found a disappoint dearth of good cogitation on the scholastic side, and boy does she let us know about it! This leads to a discussion on the greater lack of study of pop-culture from the academy and the Church, and the potential problems this is causing when the greater societal thinking is rushing forward while the scholars can't be bothered to engage.
We'll be back in late October with Season 3, but in the meantime follow us on instagram, and keep an eye out for occasional check-ins between now and then!
Were there actually witches at the Salem Witch Trials?
Did the Church actually sanction killing during the Inquisition?
Does Satan like Mean Girls?
The team attempts (respectfully) to answer some of these questions for you this week! What was the Catholic Church's responsibility during these killing times? The Delinquents discuss religious implications across the board while amusing themselves with beards, Mean Girls, and of course - Grampy Vlad.
Join us for another episode where theology meets controversy.
Girl from the Lore School Podcast (IG: @loreschoolpodcast) joins us once again for an EPIC discussion of myth, folklore, urban legend, storytelling, cyptids, aliens--> you name it, it's in this episode!
What is the line between "myth" and "folklore?" How do urban legends fit in? In a thousand years, will Slenderman be considered folklore, myth, or what? How to phenomena like Randonauts, Backrooms, and the Mandela Effect work in to everything? What happens when everyone has a video camera in their back pocket, multiple ways to instantly share what they encounter, and how might this challenge our ideas of what is real or not?
Seth gives the deets on The Loch Ness Monster, Erica discusses the weird and scary reality behind the Wendigo. Girl teaches everyone about the effect of the internet on contemporary lore, and as usual, Christine has thoughts on just about everything.
Be sure to check out our Intagram feeds (@sundayschooldelinquents and @Loreschoolpodcast), and tell us your favorite stories, myths, lore, and urban legends!
Well, well, well, what have we here?! A new Apostolic Letter? Hot damn!
The Delinquents decided that in lieu of their regularly scheduled episode, they needed to provide a discussion and update on motu proprio, Traditionis custodes, which was released by the Vatican on July 16th.
What exactly does that even mean, Delinquents, you may say?!
The Apostolic Letter challenges some of the previous rulings concerning the use of the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) versus the Novus Ordo (what most of you are used to for weekly Catholic mass.) It's a game-changer for sure.
Plenty of information in this surprise episode.
Plenty of ranting.
Plenty of laughs.
"Plenty of everything!" (100 points if you can name the movie!)
It's time, y'all.
Christine finally tells the full story of her beef with Jerome, and the Sunday School Delinquents share other creepy ... cantankerous ... pugnacious ... or just downright bitchy Christian theologians from history.
Did you ever: Wonder why some women mystics can't even right now? Ponder when EXACTLY Cyril of Alexandria became a saint? Struggle to understand John Calvin's obsession with himself and hatred for fun? This is the episode to pull the veil off of all those mysteries.
Enter if you dare ... and leave the attitude at the door (there's already plenty to go around with this flock of theologians.
Shhh! Can you keep a secret? Today's episode is about Secret Societies! Mystery Cults, Hellfire Clubs, Symbolism and more! Seth starts us off with a brief over view of the ancient mystery cults, including the Eleusinian Mysteries and the Cults of Mithras and Cybele, then Christine has a word about symbolism and inappropriate cultural projection. Erica finishes off discussing the Hellfire clubs of 17th and 18th Century Britain.
Please be sure to subscribe and leave a review! Tell your friends about us and follow us on Instagram! Also, please remember the difference between symbol-ISM and symbol-OGY. Cripes, ppl. . .
Have you ever wondered what someone is talking about when they're discussing "Catholic Social Teaching?" Or have you been perplexed when terms like "natural law" are tossed into a discussion of a moral issue?
The Sunday School Delinquents are here for you!
In this episode the team tries to clear up some misconceptions about Catholic Social Teaching, what it's based on, and all that in encompasses. You'll hear more about Natural Law than maybe you ever wanted to know! There's also an extensive aside about Indiana Jones and the team's unfiltered thoughts about arachnids. Good stuff.
Join the Delinquents as they transform themselves once again into Carnies for Christ. Bringing to you, Sideshow Miracles part two, and this time with a special guest.
Step right up, step right up! Presenting our New Orleans native guest, Sarah, who tells us about the face of Christ at the oldest Catholic academy in the United States. Once Seth arrives back the trio discusses all sorts of oddball places that people have found Jesus and Mary.
Also in this episode, discussions on nativity animals relating to Christine's inner most desires, Erica's continuing obsession with the penitentials, and Seth's memory of a miraculous tissue!
Admission is free and the three freaks are waiting for you.
Like an ouroboros biting its own tail, Christine wraps up her series on Regenerative Philosophy, by bringing it all back to where it began, from the Church to the Barnyard. She then takes a big picture view of Large scale Degenerative Cycles vs Regenerative Cycles, how looking at history and society as self-feeding cycles helps break the mind free of the false dichotomies that plague the human mind. Seth and Erica help by offering valuable critique and input, even breaking into an invigorating Augustine Vs Thomas debate!
Take a listen, and then submit your own critique! Where is Christine failing in this concept? Where is it weak, where does it fall through, what needs to be reconsidered?
Also, think about any subjects you'd like us to address in Season 3, and let us know!
Remember the Satanic Panic of the 80s and early 90s? The Sunday School Delinquents do!
In this episode the team discusses the Satanic Panic, putting it in the context of other fear-based moral panics in history. From the witch trails to the Affair of the Poisons to the satanic cabal of Fall River, MA.
They also discuss the process and politics of credibility, with a healthy dose of nods to conspiracy theories.
Oh No! I said to much. . .
I haven't said enough . . .
(And that's how you know this episode was titled by a totally 90's kid, who randomly starts singing R.E.M. songs while editing religion podcasts!)
This week Christine tackles the subject of Regenerative Religion, after her previous musings on Regenerative Theology. What would a regenerative religion look like? What attitudes and practices would be hallmarks of a religion that took regenerative concepts to heart?
Numerous ideas are brought up and discussed, but Christine is very interested in input from the audience. What do you think important aspects, attitudes, and practices would be?
How does Theology impact Technology? How does Technology impact Theology? These are the questions that start of this week's wide ranging discussion. From cloned sheep and human-monkey chimeras, to velociraptors and tyrannosauri, to social media, Oprah, and the market place of ideas, to Outlander, The Last Kingdom, and One Piece, this wide ranging conversation is meant to prompt the listener to ask themselves: How does my Faith effect my use of technology, and how does technology effect my Faith? What are our responsibilities and opportunities, both on a personal level, and as a society?
Please find us on Instagram or facebook and let us know your thoughts! Also, don't forget to leave us a review!
This week's episode was scheduled to be about technology and theology; however a SSD listener requested we do an episode on pornography ... and we couldn't resist!
This week newly-minted PhD, Erica, gives some historical, professional, and personal reflections on pornography and romantic relationships.
Christine and Seth chime in with ideas on internet porn, porn and politics, Christian sexual ethics, and sexual gratification.
Dear Listeners,
Have you ever gotten yourself tangled into a story of horror? Did you hide in dark places as children telling tales of monsters? Have you watched terrifying scenes of mayhem and mystery through the safety of your fingers, hoping it would shield you from the next fright?
Horror movies, scary stories, and Jello, have been a part of each of our lives in different ways. Some horror stories are particularly scary with added elements of religion, humanity's evil, and dehumanization.
With our awesome guest from Lore School Podcast, Girl, we dive into the macabre, chilling, and eerie world of horror.
Don't risk missing this one.
It's well known that Christine is an unrepentant heretic. Today, in the next installment of her thoughts on Regenerative thinking, she focuses on regenerative ideas in theology. Specifically: the notions of One True Religion or One True Church and how they are, in her perspective, even more heretical than she herself is.
From Genesis to Revelation, and even in the Acts of the Apostles, scripture makes clear that the nations are supposed to be many, and that God desires the multiplicity of cultures and viewpoints. This is further evidenced by stories and legends of what appears to be the working of the Holy Spirit across the world in pre-Christian and pre-missionary-contact times (including a notable instance found in Acts as well).
Take a listen and learn why the very concept of "Religious Heresy" is, itself, contrary to the Word of God.

In this episode the Sunday School Delinquents discuss the importance and theology of religious art.
Seth does a brief overview of the theology and traditions of Eastern Orthodox icons to start of the conversation. From there each of the co-hosts discuss their favorite (and sometimes not-so-favorite) genres and pieces of religious art.
There is also a small verbal altercation over a depiction of the three archangels, and the discussion devolves into a bit of a free-for-all when we start discussing our LEAST favorite religious art. So tune in!
Confess! Repent! That's right, folks, we've gripped our Confession Episode tight and raised it from Perdition, and are bringing it here to you in all it's heretical glory! Erica gives some history of Confession and the Irish Penitentials, and also reveals a notably bad experience with a coerced confession in her youth. Christine goes full-on heretic in disputing the common idea of Confession and what maybe it was supposed to be. Seth provides color commentary and useful context. It's only a couple weeks later than scheduled, but it's finally here!
Don't forget to share and leave a review!
Seth's long-awaited episode on the breasts!
But seriously though, in this episode the SSD crew discuss how breasts and breast milk have be utilized as religious imagery and a pedagogical tool to impart truths of the Christian faith.
They also discuss the breast in religious art; breasts and bodily imagery as they appear in the writings of the mystics; stories of miraculous lactation; breast-feeding and the La Leche League.
Whatever your thoughts on the breast, this is not the episode to miss.
Well. This is . . . not what we planned. Still. On this Holy Saturday, we send you our fondest greetings. May this Easter bring you the Hope of Resurrection in your own life. And for our podcasting equipment and software. Womp Womp.
Still, please Likem Share, Subscribe!
In the next installment of Christine's exploration of Regenerative Thinking, she asks her co-hosts about their best and worst experiences during their school years. What was good? What was bad? What lessons can be gained when it's time to teach the next generation? What pathologies have we learned without realizing, and what pathologies are we imposing on our children? What should we consider as we try to improve and make things better for the world that follows us?
This weekend the Delinquents discuss the subject of fear. What does it mean to be scared? Why do we sometimes seek it out, while, at other times, we do all we can to avoid it?
Fear can be a positive or a negative in our lives. It can be a motivation to be better or it can be a hindrance to achieving our goals.
Fear is a force also discussed, both positively and negatively in theology. It can be a force for a healthy, authentic understanding of God, or a fear-based, pathological theological world view.
Listen in to find out our many, varied thoughts on the matter!
Shadow People. Night Hags. The Man with the Hat. The nameless terror of pink smiley faces, pineapples, and pretty dolls. Today the gang dusts off an extra episode from the season one archives to talk about some personal encounters with the scarier side of the unknown, from their own experiences with Shadow People, to sleep paralysis, and nightmares so terrifying they remember each detail even decades later. Who is the Man in the Hat? What Nameless Dread lurks behind the smiling pink face of Witchy Ghost? What is wrong with Erica's dolls?
All this and more in today's episode of the Sunday School Delinquents!
Erica surprises Christine and Seth with some discussion of famous crimes and test cases to get a jump start on a discussion of mental illness and culpability.
Discussion ranges from Catholic social teaching and the death penalty to salvation and the patron saints of mental illness.
This is not an episode to miss!
In her next exploration of Regenerative Thinking, Christine pulls the gang along as she explores generational cycles of injury, wounding, and pain. The positive and negative of Tradition are discussed, the need for philosophies to recognize the natural injuries caused by growing up, and the need to heal those injuries before embarking upon the titanic responsibilities of child rearing.
Including an illustration from the marvelous Netflix show The Last Kingdom. Please Like, share, subscribe, comment!
Oh yes it's Ladies' Night
And the Feelin's Right!
C'mon, you know you sang along! But for real, this episode discusses some Excellent Ladies who crossed paths with the religious and political establishments of their days. Deliberately choosing women who were not canonized in the Western Church, we narrowed down our selections to some of the most impressive women in history.
Lucrezia Borgia. Eleanor d'Acquitaine. Cousin Queens Elizabeth and Mary. Theodora and Marozia Theophylact. Empress Theodora. The Pontifical Commission on Birth Control.
From actresses and courtesans to ruthless monarchs or contemporary wives and mothers, these are women who stood up and refused to be passive objects to the people that surrounded them. They left profound and lasting impacts on Western history and culture, and today we tell you a bit of their story.
Happy Valentine's Day!
In this episode the Sunday School Delinquents take on the perennially sought after subject of love.
We briefly go over the connections between the martyr St. Valentine and the romantic aspects of Valentine's Day. We also survey some saints who are and aren't the best to hit up if you're looking for some romance in your life. Which saints have traditionally been called upon for matters of the heart, and what was required to win favor with these heavenly patrons? And how did (and do) these practices tread a fine line between Christian folk belief and straight up magic.
Christine takes a deeper dive into actual Christian love spell traditions including those surrounding St. Anthony and St. Helena.
Can one engage in the BDSM lifestyle and be moral? And be Christian?
In this episode, the Sunday School Delinquents explore the topics of sex, bondage, submission, dominance, sadism, and masochism and how these topics are or can be discussed theologically.
Erica outlines a Christian vision for approaching love and sexuality guided by the moral theologians Margaret Farley and Caroline Simon.
Christine discusses her personal experience of doing research in an online BDSM community and some cautionary advice for seekers.
Seth does a little historical digging on the terms that make up BDSM and discusses the infamous and much misunderstood Marquis de Sade.
Skip this one if you're feeling a little prudish!
Do dogs go to heaven? Do animals have souls or agency of any kind? Are the most recent advances in "science" really something we want to encourage? What is the proper understanding of the relationship between the human world and the animal world? Do whales ask for help? Do crows understand economy? Did cats self-domesticate? Are not dogs the BEST? What does the Bible have to say about animals?
The gang has a whale of a time as we tackle these issues, and tie in The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lord of the Rings, His Dark Materials, Jurassic Park, Hagane no Renkinjutsu (FullMetal Alchemist), and The Island of Dr. Moreau. Also, almost the entirely of The Dodo's Social Media feeds.
Seth and Erica discuss the thoughts of contemporary theologians and historic philosophers, and Christine get's a-Bible-Thumpin' in this week's episode!
Don't forget to share us with your friends, furry and otherwise!
It starts and ends with absolute degeneracy. But, in between questionable talk regarding various mammals, and a historic round of 2 Truths 1 Lie, there's actual serious conversation!
In her second episode on regenerative thinking, Christine delicately addresses human health from the perspectives of regenerative thinking, and her own history. Where does our knowledge of human nutrition come from? How much of our common understanding is actually scientific? How do our philosophies regarding reproduction reflect our humanity and humanness? Erica then discusses her experience with the practices advocated by Wim Hof.

From the 4th century to the Medieval Ages we slither our way through the Seven Deadly Sins. More deadly than the Deathly Hollows and danker than the Death Star, the Seven Deadly Sins have been a warning to Christians through the ages: take care of your mortal soul!
Are they all they're cracked up to be? Maybe yes, maybe no. Listen in to a little background on the Seven Deadly Sins. Let your imagination wild as you hear about how Dante imagined them. Yet fear not! We'll let you know how to avoid h-e-double hockey sticks on Earth.
A warning as well (NOW, a warning?) beware of Daleks taking advantage of a bad sound situation.
Listen in!
Special thanks to Mike Koening for some sweet sound fx
After learning interesting pieces of Erica's sordid past, the gang tackles the subject of the 3 mysterious figures from the Gospel of Matthew, celebrated on the Ephiphany.
What were Magi? Were they kings? What were their names? what happened to the gifts they brought to the infant Jesus? What is the proper way to eat King Cake?
All this and more in this week's episode of the Sunday School Delinquents!
After Christine manages to screw up 2 Truths and a Lie, it's time to talk chicken. Or Pigs. Well, Christine lays the groundwork for some ideas she wants to explore over the course of the season. She talks about the interesting work of the Paani Foundation, the Al Baydha Project, and the work of Joel Salatin and Polyface Farms. Seth's cat Moon is very interested, and we also talk about Chickens named after a saint (Radegund) and an anime character (Kuchiki Rukia).

Well, this was last minute! The gang pops in for a few minutes to wish everyone Merry Christmas! In that time, they make obligatory Welcome to Night Vale and Lion King references, Christine forgets Baldur's name and steps on Erica's toes, Seth explains about the un-trustworthiness of theological memes, and Erica reads to us from Charles Dickens.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
On the last Saturday before Christmas 2020, we present to you our Baby Jesus Episode! Today, Seth teaches us about La Nina de aAtocha , the Infant of Prague, and Fr. Duffy's (God grant him rest) utter disdain for people who go overboard with this pseudo-monophicism. Erica discusses the theological work of German theologian Schleiermacher regarding childhood and children. Christine calls back to the Halloween episode. And a contest! Listen to the end to participate!
With obligatory references to Talladega Nights, Seth's brush with Federal Prison, and bizarre Christmas "art", we wish you and your loved one's a Merry Christmas and a Happy (or at least, more sane than 2020) New Year!
In part 2 of 2, it's not so much the saints themselves - except for St. Giles, that weirdo - as all the issues around the saints, and the Church itself. Whether it's the weird reductionist sexualization of women but not men, the question of who benefits when the most faithful and devout are trained to think themselves unworthy of anything, much less raising the alarm over abuses,or the idea that priests are not to be criticized and mistreatment is to be endured, but never challenged, the gang has a fair bit to say on these matters.
There is some grownup subject matter discussed, so listen with discernment.
We're surmounting recording difficulties and internet malfunctions to bring you this episode, so we hope you enjoy!
Saints preserve us!
Okay, so who are these saints, and why are some of them so troubling? In this episode (Part 1 of 2) , Christine, Erica, and Seth are joined by a special guest to discuss saints whose lives and deeds were somewhat questionable, or whose memories are used for dubious purposes.
Seth introduces Junípero Serra, whose role as "Apostle" to California has come under some scrutiny in the last few decades. Guest speaker, Anthony, shares some of his personal family history involving the California saint.
Erica leads us through the scandalous/hilarious/suspicious life of St. Julian the Hospitaller. A side discussion covers how annoying the word "hospitaller" is.
And, finally, the moment we've all been waiting for; Christine leads us through exactly why she has such a beef with St. Jerome. Buckle up and prepare for the rant.
A few honorable mentions round out the hour, and set the stage for next week's continued discussion.
Gratitude, grace, attitude, servitude! All topics covered in our THANKSGIVING EPISODE.
After a brief PSA on gratitude from family and neighbor, we take our talk to the issues of Thanksgiving. Seth likens grace and gratitude to mysticism. Erica reluctantly brings in John Calvin and his notions of Eucharist. Christine hands it to us straight with why in the world we should stop whining and give thanks.
Also included are discussions on being nice to holiday workers and shoppers, troublesome neighbors, more truths and a half lie, the importance of pets, flooded basements, Sallie McFague, C.S. Lewis, turkey feathers, the gods of coffee, and . . . blue-footed boobies...
After some initial discussion of A.I. (go check out our Season 1 episode!) and a game of 2 Truths and a Lie, Christine buckles down to define some terms we use pretty often, or plan on using this season. The gang mulls over her thoughts, and gives their own input from their more educated points of view. With obligatory references to Star Trek and Star Wars, this episode serves as a pseudo-preview of subject matters to be discussed throughout Season 2. No warnings on this one, except it might stretch your mind a little. It might also give you some ammo when arguing anonymously with people online. Which we all need these days, right?
A continuation of last week's discussion on suicide, this week the gang tackles subjects of Death Rituals and Legends, from Theological Literal Sh*t-takes, to The Zoroastrian Towers of Silence, The 47 Samurai, Death Poetry, Cherry Blossoms, Roman Ladies, and Wakes for Benedictine Sisters. We again ask that sensitive listeners consider their own mental and emotional self-care prior to listening.
Also included are obligatory references to Ghostbusters II, John Wick, St. Augustine, All Night Telethons, and Christine's Heretical Inclinations.
Watch out folks! Our trio discusses the serious subject of suicide this week, from Suicide Forests to Death Coasters to the Cult of the Martyrs. From Sweden, to Rome, to Japan, from Early Christianity to the modern day, we look at the issue of Cultural concepts and attitudes about suicide. We ask that sensitive listeners consider their own mental and emotional self-care prior to listening.
There's also discussion of hats, annoying people, a couple of movies, and the podcast Welcome to Night Vale.
We're baaaaaaaack! Welcome to Season 2 of Sunday School Delinquents (the former The Take 3 Theological Variety Hour).
Back to business with a Halloween episode for you. The team talks about Christians enjoying Halloween, All Saint's, Day of the Dead, and Samhain holidays. Can you love Halloween and still be Christian? You can find some strong opinions here!
Also discussed, Seth's Brad Pitt likeness, postmortem photography, Thanatos Archive, Bael - Bail - Bale, Occult, Tarot, Remembering Ancestors and much more!
2020 has been a year to remember and it's only September!
Join our troublesome trio for a session of Tarot and Cookies. A time honored tradition of our group, Tarot and Cookies gives Christine, Erica, and Seth the chance to nosh on delectables whilst answering some of the most important questions in the universe (or maybe just some rando questions that may have popped in their heads.)
Also discussed: Tarot Deck types, out of print decks, why homemade cookies always win, Seth's moving habits, Erica's magical abilities, the ONE Tarot question Christine won't answer, and much more.
Our trio of beguiled friends check in on each other between seasons. Seth is expecting a very special package as he tries to overcome the horrors of past run-ins with murderous clowns. Christine contemplates death and working for the government, which appear to be one in the same. Erica wonders why she is losing sleep, but only on Tuesday nights.
Will our trio make it to season 2?!
Also look out for a shout out to one of our very favorite podcast teams: LORE SCHOOL!
We also babble about Robert the Doll, clowns vs. dolls, Tits (the birds, get your mind outta the gutter!), Michaelmas, Archangels, Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Soul Possession, More Hauntings, Curses and Hexes, Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights, Sacrificing Your Friends, The East Martello Museum in Key West, Doll Souls, Creepy Dolls, Creepy is Awesome, Lucifer Loves Christine, Lucifer in General, I Love Lucy, Frasier, Nighttime Television, Insomnia (on a Tuesday), Season 2, Eating the Sacred, the 3% We Won't Talk About, and Virgos.
In this finale to Season 1, the gang relates personal tales of encounters with the (possibly) supernatural. From catching a ghost in a photo, to mysterious flying Latin-English Dictionaries, to terrifying porcelain dolls, to examining the very concept of what it means to be haunted. This may be the end of Season 1, but it is not the end of this Podcast! Catch up on past episodes over our break, and be ready for a brand new name when Season 2 kicks off on Halowe'en 2020!

This week we conclude our 2 part episode of The Apocalypse, with Christine introducing us to Edgar Cayce's interpretation of the Book of Revelation as the Map to the development of the individual soul. It's every bit as unusual as the Book of Revelation itself. She shares it in hopes of combating the fallacy that there is one single correct interpretation of the final book of the Bible.

Today we're talking about the phenomenon of Stigmata! Erica starts us off by going into the Greek meanings behind the word, and the modern day manifestations of Social Stigma, especially surrounding the concepts of "Purity" and still surviving Blood Taboos. Seth discusses a bit of the history and politics around the phenomenon of stigmata (and terrible names for Dive Bars) while Christine ponders on the psychosomatic nature of stigmata, and what this nature indicates about the state of the stigmatic. Not gonna lie, it gets a little weird, and we deal with some subjects that are best addressed with a bit of maturity. Which we utterly fail at, but we gave it a good try!
