Debbie's Bio
Debbie Tannenbaum works as an Elementary School Technology Specialist in Fairfax County, VA. An educator with over twenty years of experience, Debbie Tannenbaum supports both staff and students to integrate technology tools into instruction through both co teaching sessions and weekly technology classes. Debbie emphasizes working collaboratively with other educators to use technology tools that amplify student learning and empower student voice. She also blogs and shares her thoughts and reflections regularly on her website:https://www.tannenbaumtech.com. In May 2021, her book, TRANSFORM: Techy Notes to Make Learning Sticky was published by Road to Awesome LLC.
Book Summary
As a veteran teacher, Debbie shares her journey from being a struggling teacher in the early 2000s to the educational technology coach she is today. Intertwined in her story, she shares how a passion for using technology in the classroom was ignited inside her through a myriad of experiences. These experiences have framed her vision of the TRANSFORM tech tools. Debbie emphasizes using technology tools to empower students and give them opportunities that are not possible without the use of the technology. But students are not the only ones who can be empowered using technology. Debbie also shares how educators can use these tools to not only grow and learn, but to TRANSFORM their professional practice.

Christina Etchberger is a military spouse, mother of two boys, former full-time educator turned homeschooling teacher. Christina also owns a business called Christina Etchberger LLC with multiple sectors to her brand: It’s a Military Life, It’s a Military Child Life, and Veteran Pen Pal Project ™ . Although Christina has decided to homeschool her children, she is still greatly involved in the education community. Christina is a Resource Partner with Partners in PROMISE. Christina has published numerous articles about the program, and advocates for military children with exceptional needs alongside other resource platforms and fellow military families.

Christina’s Facebook Page “It’s a Military Child Life”, along with her Instagram Community @itsamilitarychildlife shares information, activities, and inspiration for military families. One recent post focused on the Army's Emergency Relief’s New Homeschool Assistance Program. Another exciting component of this community, is the involvement with military teens who guest write for It’s a Military Life. These teen writers are from all over the world with many different life experiences, and education background - homeschooling, public, and private. Christina is happy to collaborate with these inspiring teens from BLOOM: Empowering the Military Teen.
