Whenever I tell people that I’ve hired a professional organizer to unpack our boxes and put things away, one of the most common responses I get is, "Oh - I could never do that, I’m WAY too Type A." And I get it. Working with an organizer means giving up a little bit of control. But if you've got a lot on your plate, why not direct your Type A Talents where it counts? Sara has now unpacked my family and gotten us settled TWICE and I couldn't be happier with the results.

When we think of “productivity,” we usually think about getting more things done. Checking more off our to-do lists. But that’s not the actual definition of productivity — and it’s definitely not how we want to live our lives. In this episode, I talk about the real definition of productivity, why I want to reframe it to include priorities, and how you can actually decide what to work on next instead of just “doing more.” SHOWNOTES for Episode 126

Mistakes get a bad rap, but they’re actually a pretty important part of our lives. Ideally, we make a mistake when trying something new, learn from it, and move on. Mistakes like, for example, trying a time management strategy without adjusting it to fit YOU, or buying a fancy planner with the hopes that it’ll ease your struggles. I’ve made these same mistakes, and I’ve learned from them. I took it one step further and created a new time management method that works with you, as well as your goals and values.

Recently, I had the light bulb moment while talking with a time management coaching client. Time management is definitely NOT a “set it and forget it” situation. It’s always changing to fit your life. One of the biggest changes I’ve ever lived through was becoming a mother and welcoming my girls into the world. Time management is different in all 5 trimesters. Yes, FIVE. That’s exactly what I’m talking about in this conversation with Jessica Lorion on her podcast, “Mamas in Training.” Whether you’re a mom, mom-to-be, hope to become a mom someday, or you just want to understand what your friends and coworkers experience - this episode is an interesting look at time management that’s constantly evolving. Just as we’re constantly evolving.
You’re feeling frazzled, overwhelmed. You’re feeling like you’ll never catch up, like there’s never enough time, and that you’re never going to figure this out. I know exactly how you feel. When nothing seems to go right, it’s easy to feel like time management just doesn’t work for you. In this episode, I’m sharing three mistakes many people make when it comes to time management and what you can do instead. Then, I’m pulling back the curtain on The HEART Method - the time management framework that can work for literally anyone - including YOU.
