Here are some practical ways to guard your heart

• Avoid energy drainers. Steer clear of people, environments,
and activities that leave you feeling depleted, overwhelmed,
or unmotivated.
• Control your gates. Be selective about what you watch,
listen to, and engage with. Filter out infl uences, media,
conversations, and relationships that negatively impact your
thoughts and emotions.
• Extend forgiveness: Release grudges quickly and freely,
choosing to forgive as Christ forgave you.

When the Lord send us on a mission, the mission will not come without opposition. Focus on your assignment. The opposition is temporary. The rewards are eternal.

Just as a parent corrects his child, church leaders and members must correct a sinning brother because correction could save a person for destruction.
When our message (lifestyle, preaching/teaching, etc.) the hearers will want to know, what must I do to be saved.
Jonah's story reminds us of the importance of obeying God no matter what. This story let's us know, when God has an assignment for us, we can run but we can't hide.

Characteristics of a Godly Mentor:
1. They pass on Godly principles to their natural and spiritual children.
2. Your mentor uses every opportunity they have with you to teach you something.
3. Once the lesson is taught, the teacher/mentor provides opportunity for the mentee to do their part.
4. They may not give you everything you need to do a task. But they guide you in the right direction.
5. A Godly mentor seeks to honor God in the choices they make every day.
6. A Godly mentor will never tell you to do anything that they are not willing to do themselves.
7. A Godly mentor spends quality time with you.
“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up." (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)

When God gives you a vision, it is not only possible, it will prosper. The first person to run with it is YOU.
Habakuk 2:2-3 "And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry."
When God gives you a vision, it is important to write it down in such a way that others can read it, catch it, and run with it.
When it's God, it's possible. When God has given you a vision, He will give you the grace to finish.
As rebellion breeds contention; humility breeds grace. Moses response to Korah's rebellion in Numbers 16 is a great example of a leader, who even when tried, remained humble.
"And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma." (Ephesians 5:2)

Let's evaluate friendships. Are we demonstrating the qualities that we expect from someone else? What does the Bible have to say about friendship?

After spending the weekend with my Dad in the hospital, I was reminded of the reward of honor. No matter how old we are, honoring our parents is never outdated.

Purpose of the lesson:
"To show that our minds are being destroyed when we forsake the Lord and provoke Him to anger; it's time to fight your war of a 'Must Return to God'. Do not allow Satan to destroy your mind." (Romans 7:24-25)
As God has been gracious and merciful to us, so we should be gracious and merciful even when correction is needed.

Where there is no discipline, tolerance is prevalent. When we love our brothers and sisters in Christ, we cannot turn a blind eye to sin. Let's do our part to initiate change and help bring restoration for the benefit of the believer, for the purity of the Church, and for the glory of God. No condemnation; just unconditional love.

What are you saying about your situation? Are they words of affirmation or words of doubt and fear? The woman with the issue of blood made a confession of faith when she said, "If I could but touch the hem of His garment..." Today, shift your thinking and you will shift you language.
"Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well." Mark 5:25-28 NKJV
Jonah 2:7 "When my soul fainted within me I remembered the Lord: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple."
What is your belly of the fish experience? How did that moment change your life? Jonah found himself in the belly of the fish and it was his opportunity to reflection, remorse and repentance. This message is a powerful message of God's mercy even when we rebel. I pray you enjoy.

As we seek to understand the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, we must understand that God is not the author of confusion. He gave gifts to men so the church could be edified and His purposes could be fulfilled. If you have ever been betrayed by a friend, a relative, a spouse, a co-worker or even a child, this message is the message for you. Jesus was betrayed by someone He loved. But He gave us an example of the biblical response to betrayal. Forgiveness is only difficult when the focus is more on how we feel than what God requires. Jesus demonstrated, in this text, what unconditional love really looks like.
Jesus has already taught us, by His example, how to respond to those who betray us. It is up to us to follow His lead.

In today's broadcast, we identify three types of wills in operation today: Self-will, Satan's will, and God's will. Jesus was determined and focused on doing the will of the Father. Even at the risk of death, He did not alter from doing God's will. That was most important to Him. What is most important to you?
Paul recognized the continued struggle of the flesh against the Spirit as it relates to fulfilling God's will. He identified this struggle as taking place in the mind: "But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members." (Romans 7:23)
This is why he stated, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God." (Romans 12:1-2)
To offer sacrifice means to give up completely. This must be so in our relationship with God.

Conflict resolution is defined as a way for two or more parties to find a peaceful solution to a disagreement among them. Paul recognized the need for a dispute between two women in the church of Philippi to be resolved and he urged them to come to a peaceful resolution. I often say, there is no problem that cannot be resolved if we want to resolve it.
"Let love be your highest goal! But you should also desire the special abilities the Spirit givesâespecially the ability to prophesy." (1 Corinthians 14:1)
Hebrews 11:3, “through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear”.
Abraham is called 'THE FATHER OF FAITH' because he believed God when things looked impossible. WILL YOU BELIEVE when things look impossible? When you faith is tested, will you trust God with the outcome?
"In the same way, âAbraham BELIEVED God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.â The real children of Abraham, then, are those who put their faith in God. Whatâs more, the Scriptures looked forward to this time when God would make the Gentiles right in his sight because of their faith. God proclaimed this good news to Abraham long ago when he said, âAll nations will be blessed through you.â (Genesis 3:6-8, NLT)

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Developing intimacy with God starts with receiving Jesus as Savior and Lord of your life. He is the way, the truth, and the life. He is the way to a personal relationship with God.
"For some people it seems to take a temporary period of insanity before they truly come to themselves and find God."
In Daniel 4, Nebuchadnezzar became puffed up with pride, arrogance, and conceit. He gave himself credit for things that should have only been attributed to God. It was this selfish mentality that cost him his mind, and insanity lowered him from a king in a palace to a beast grazing in the fields like a cow.
But ONE DAY his mind was restored by God and he began to praise, exalt, honor, glorify and magnify the One, True and Living, Almighty God. Nebuchadnezzar saw everything with new eyes; including his own need for the Lord, Our God. Nebuchadnezzar had to lose in order to win.
The Lord always has us on His mind. He will never leave us nor forsake us.

1 Samuel 1:6, 9-15
6 And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the LORD had shut up her womb.
9 So Hannah rose up after they had eaten in Shiloh, and after they had drunk. Now Eli the priest sat upon a seat by a post of the temple of the LORD.
10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore.
11 And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.
12 And it came to pass, as she continued praying before the LORD, that Eli marked her mouth.
13 Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken.
14 And Eli said unto her, How long wilt thou be drunken? put away thy wine from thee.
15 And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD.

Here is what the Bible teaches about Paul's thorn in the flesh:
WHAT IT WAS:
The Bible says Paul's thorn was a messenger. The Greek word "messenger" appears seven times in the New Testament. It is translated "angel" 181 times. All 188 times it is speaking of a personality, not a sickness or disease. A messenger is a personality.
The use of the word "thorns" in the Old Testament also supports this. “Thorns” is used in Numbers 33:55 and Joshua 23:13 to describe the inhabitants of the land of Canaan. In both of these cases it was not a physical affliction, but buffeting by an enemy.
WHO IT WAS FROM:
The Bible says it was a messenger from Satan. Paul said, "There was given me. . ." but he did not say it was from God!
WHY IT WAS PERMITTED:
The thorn was permitted for three major reasons:

It Prevented Sin:
Paul said the thorn was permitted because of the abundant revelations he received and his tendency towards pride.
Before anyone claims to have a thorn in the flesh he should consider how many revelations and visions he has had. Does he qualify for a thorn? Most folks who think they have a thorn in the flesh have not had any kind of revelation or vision. -
It Fulfilled Prophecy:
The thorn also fulfilled prophecy. When Paul was converted, God said:
. . . I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake. (Acts 9:16) -
It Provided Strength:
The problems created by the "thorn" provided opportunity for the strength of God to be manifested.
WHAT IT DID:
The thorn buffeted Paul. To "buffet" means to "give repeated blows, over and over and over." The word "buffeting" does not refer to a permanent state of sickness but to repeated blows. The messenger was sent to buffet Paul to try to stop the Word of God from being preached.
The conclusion of our analysis of 'The Lord's Prayer' in Matthew 6:9-13. "AMEN" - "Even so, as I have prayed it, even so shall it be done."
When we say "Amen" we are actually making a declaration of faith.

This devotion of COMMAND YOUR MORNING analyzes Matthew 6:10-12, "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors." (KJV)
We must learn to both receive and give forgiveness for our own personal offenses and the wrong caused to us by others. The Bible says in Matthew 18:7 that "offenses will come". How will you deal with offenses? Will you intercede for the offender in prayer or just talk about them through gossip? Before we ever seek forgiveness for our sins against God, we are to have already forgiven those who have sinned against us.
This devotion of COMMAND YOUR MORNING begins to outline the "Lord's Prayer" or "model prayer" in Matthew 6:9-13. Understanding the purpose of Jesus' teaching this prayer is vital as we learn to understand intercessory prayer.
Jesus teaches the disciples, "After this manner, therefore, pray..." (Matthew 6:9). Which in Greek is translated, "pray along these lines". Jesus was giving His disciples a guide for prayer. Follow along and allow this teaching to strengthen your prayer life.
"Prayer concerns conduct and conduct makes character. Conduct, is what we do; character is what we are. Conduct is outward life. Character is the life unseen, hidden within, yet evidenced by that which is seen. Conduct is external, seen from without; character is internal -- operating within. In the economy of grace conduct is the offspring of character. Character is the state of the heart, conduct its outward expression. Character is the root of the tree; conduct, the fruit it bears."
