Mr. Sondhi is a Dehradun-based naturalist with a keen interest in writing and photography. He is a member of Kalpavriksh and Founder Trustee of TITLI TRUST. He works primarily in western and eastern Himalayas supporting grass-root conservation, eco-tourism, and conservation education focussing on birds, butterflies, moths, and herpetofauna.
Dr. Barve is an avian evolutionary ecologist and has done extensive research from Cornell University on the elevation distribution of birds in the Himalayas. He is a Peter Buck fellow and is currently exploring how birds survive extreme climates, especially cold weather at high-elevations, at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum. Dr. Barve grew up in Mumbai, India, and has been spending his time researching birds, studying the movement of water buffaloes and rhinos, even radio tracking King Cobras in rainforests.
Prof. Chakravorty is a Professor of Economics at Tufts University and Fellow at the Toulouse School of Economics and CESifo. He is co-editor of the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management. His current work involves estimating the economic benefit of reliable electricity in rural India, and the relationship between deforestation and household time allocation. His research has been published in mainstream academic journals including the American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, and Econometrica. He is Co-Editor of the book "India and Global Climate Change" published by Oxford University Press. Prof. Chakravorty has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from IIT Delhi and a Ph.D. in Resource and Environmental Economics from the University of Hawaii.
Mr. Kohli is the serving President of the Doon School Old Boys’ Society. He studied at the Doon School, Dehradun and went on to do his Bachelors in Mathematical Statistics at Hindu College, in the University of Delhi. After graduating from university he went on to establish his design studio. He now runs a design centric, ecologically conscious, export company. His company was awarded the 2019 GRIHA Exemplary Performance Award for Passive Architecture Design. He has been instrumental in establishing the Doon School’s Environment Committee and is responsible for the general change in approach of the Doon School boys towards the environment. His campus rewilding initiative has received praise from all stakeholders inside and outside the campus.
Mr. Kamdar is a naturalist currently working towards his masters degree in wildlife conservation and biology in the National Center for Biological Sciences in Bangalore. His interest in wildlife goes back to his days in The Doon School where he roamed the campus in search of snakes and other reptiles and amphibians. Doing that opened a whole new world for him and now he is giving talks and raising awareness about important conservation issues all over India. Mr.Kamdar has been an integral part of the protests against the Dibang valley dam in Northeast India and has been constantly working towards nature conservation and spreading awareness about the same.
Dr. Swamy is a Biology and Environmental Science teacher at The Doon School, Dehradun, and is an active part of the school’s Environment committee. A ‘PARYAVARAN DRONACHARYA’ awardee, a photographer and a wildlife enthusiast, sir has always been driven towards the conservation and protection of flora and fauna in school as well as outside the campus.
