Free indeed! John 8 & 20 - 2nd Sunday of Easter
Jesus transforms deep grief into clear purpose and mission, debilitating fear into joy and wavering doubt into strong, centred faith.
Life is such a struggle at times and often yields no dividends for the effort. How can I hit the target and have the full and fulfilling life Jesus offers.
Matthew 10:24-39 The full life Jesus offered can only be received with Jesus in the work he's called us to do
Luke 2:1-21. The Church as the vanguard of the kingdom; into the world and into the future.
based on Matthew 28:1-10 'Do not be afraid', 'go quickly and tell his disciples: “He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' 'So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.'
Based on John 19:25-30 'When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, ‘Woman, here is your son,’ 27 and to the disciple, ‘Here is your mother.’' verse 26
Based on John 13:1-17, 31-35 'Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.' verse 1
John 11 Jesus love for Mary, Martha and Lazarus. His actions suggest otherwise on the face of it. He waits until after Lasarus' death to turn up. Jesus love, it seems, transcends human mortality and ascends to something altogether more radical.
