Chris North was born in 1948 and moved to East Anglia at a young age. While working at a holiday camp as a photographer in 1966 Chris started watching the magicians who were performing shows for the children.
He believed he could do a better job so started work on a semi-professional basis, initially performing for children but later doing shows for the adult audience too.
In the early 1970s he was joined by assistant Lynn and, under the guidance of Anglia Agent Chic Applin, they worked the holiday centres of the East Coast performing their very slick illusion act, with good magic and lots of audience participation.
In 1973 Jill Cullum replaced Lynn in the act and a year later they turned professional, and continued to work around the East Coast area. Jill also had a local background, was born in Norwich in 1958, and before joining the act worked in a boutique and as a model.
In December 1975 the duo appointed, Ipswich based, Barry Dye as their personal manager and began to pick up more bookings around the country.
Their initial break came through the WheelTappers and Shunters Club, and a recording date for the show was all set when Chris and Jill were accepted to appear on New Faces. With the New Faces show recording scheduled before the forthcoming WheelTappers and Shunters Club, they were cleared to confirm both shows.
The magic pair were runners-up on their New Faces show, in April 1976, with 114 marks out of 120, a fantastic achievement for a speciality act. When Pat Tansey, the New Faces show winner, was disqualified after it was revealed he had previously appeared on Opportunity Knocks, Chris and Jill were announced as the show winners and booked their place in the All Winners Final on 15 May 1976.

Andy became interested in magic at the age of 10 when he was given the Mark Wilson Course in Magic as a birthday present. To say Paul Green has had a history in magic would be an underestimate. As a native Californian. Paul Green began his career in magic when he was just seven years old. After his father took him and his older brother to a “father/son banquet”, there was a magician performing for the group. Needless to say, he was hooked!
After his older brother lost interest in magic once he had assembled a “shoe box” of magic, Paul stuck to it. As a result, magic became very important to him. He would go on to put on little shows in his backyard along with some of the neighbourhood kids. His first “paid” show was for his three year old cousin’s birthday. The party was held in a community park. He continued performing for other children’s parties while in school, becoming more and more comfortable with each performance. His earnings are used to fund props from the catalogs and shops.
Over the years he began performing at restaurants, eventually working his way up at one Beverly Hills eatery for over 25 years! He also had the good fortune to work for many A-list celebrities--Cary Grant, Natalie Wood, Robert Wagner, and Elizabeth Taylor to name a few. Alongside restraints, Paul also started performing at trade shows for companies like Monsanto and IBM. Other venues included cruise ships which visited many exotic locations.
Paul is an incredible magician, having lectured around the world for a long time. He has since been honoured with Lecturer of the Year and Close-Up Magician of the Year awards from the Academy of Magical Arts at the world-famous Magic Castle. Wayne Dobson was born in Leicester and was just a youngster when he discovered the fun of magic for the first time. At just 16 years of age became the youngest-ever member of the Leicester Magic Circle.
Throughout his teens he worked on his magic becoming a real master and having great fun performing to friends and family, and the occasional show at his local youth club.
"David Nixon, Pat Page, Roy Johnson and Ken Brooke were all great influences on me."
Wayne was also inspired by another brilliant man of magic, Dai Vernon.
"I think it was because of Dai Vernon's influence that I became so interested in close-up magic. He was revered, and rightly so, by all the modern-day magicians and illusionists. He was one of the great innovators. The 'Cups and Balls' routine was one of his specialities."
At just 16 Wayne was demonstrating great flair and originality and started to pick up local engagements and club work, on a semi-professional basis. In 1977 he was a joint first prize winner in the close-up competition at the IBM British Ring Convention. This led to his television debut on BBC TV's Blue Peter. A run of tours with some of the UK's top performers ensued; Wayne opened for Freddie Starr, Shirley Bassey and the Shadows. The TV companies picked up on Wayne's magic and he performed on a number of top shows. In 1988 accompanied Engelbert Humperdinck on a comprehensive American tour which saw him entertaining in Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, Hollywood, Los Angeles, Atlantic City and Chicago. The tour was a tremendous success. Wayne was blessed with a rare talent for blending great humour and great magic, evidenced by the high regard accorded him by fellow entertainers. Dean Martin was a fan and took him to Las Vegas..
In 1988 he was diagnosed with MS, his future was redefined in a moment; his world became inverted and uncertain. In the face of such adversity most would be tempted to give it up, quietly fade away into the unknown. Wayne didn’t give up, he saw it as a defining moment, he rose to the challenge, he continued to work, and he discovered his real and true friends like Joe Pasquale. Within the fraternity of magic he was regarded as an icon, frequently lecturing to the numerous societies up and down the country, his natural wit and ability to create wonderful magic effects found continuing favour. He was still a gifted entertainer and now he was to become an inspiration to others.

He is in great demand as a professional magician. Finally he runs Changing Cards supplying some of the best gaffed cards to magicians all over the world.
Here is his biography. Richard Young in his own words.
I was 9 years old when a magic set received as a Christmas gift from my Godmother began a lifelong passion. Looking back, I now realise that my parents ‘playing along’ and telling me they didn’t know how I did the tricks (when obviously they did) really solidified the hobby, it gave a shy council estate kid a feeling of importance and worth. I got into trouble at school for doing tricks when it wasn’t an appropriate time, although a frustration to my classroom teachers, my headmaster granted me the option to perform when it was appropriate in morning assemblies for the entire year, they were some of the most important gigs of my life. I was completely in love with magic and performing, nothing else in life mattered.
Witnessing a performance by the world’s greatest magician and international superstar David Copperfield on his UK arena tour when I was aged 11 sealed my fate as a magician for life. Aged 14 I met an older professional magician who lived near to my house who offered to mentor me for free, these two incidences combined with fully supportive parents meant there would be only one path and one career for me. I was completely consumed.
Shortly after leaving University I proudly joined The Magic Circle as one of its youngest ever members, a few years later in 2018 the President of the club promoted me to M.I.M.C (Member of The Inner Magic Circle with Gold Star) which is the highest level of membership, an exclusive sinister sounding yet actually quite delightful circle of the top magicians on the planet capped at 300 at any one time, an enormous honour.
Since finishing my education I have made my living exclusively from performing magic. It has taken me around the world. I performed at the celebration party for Lewis Hamilton after he won the Formula One World Championship. After a brief demonstration before the lot, celebrity Jeremy Clarkson bidded on my services in a charity auction so he could have me perform for his family, he was hosting the auction at the time. I have completed dozens of other performances for people you have heard of many of whom asked me to sign an NDA.
Whilst performing at The Edinburgh Fringe I was spotted by a young producer who was looking for magicians for an upcoming theatre tour, little did I know that he would change my life and over the next few years he would take me all over the world as part of his ensemble show Champions of Magic (www.championsofmagic.co.uk) To date I have performed in over 200 theatres around the world with this show, one of them was in an arena in Montreal in front of 8000 people, my biggest ever audience. As part of being in this show I have appeared on Live TV dozens of times performing magic on the BBC, ITV, NBC, FOX and numerous other networks.
While of course arena shows, celebrities and awards are all lovely the real reason I love what I do is because I get to meet so many wonderful people from all walks of life at private parties, weddings and corporate events. You are here on this website because you have an event coming up and are looking for something fun that will amaze your guests, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
