This episode was a special edition to mark the 50 years independence of Bangladesh and what a special way then to hold a conversation with fellow British Bengali Hashu who is 'SMASH Bengali'. He shared his journey and motivation to do what he does. I won't say much more, as always it was an interesting conversation.
About Hashu aka 'SMASH Bengali'
"Hashu is an Actor & Comedian of British Bangladeshi descent born on May 10th, 1992 in Birmingham, UK to Khaleda Begum & Askar Ali. His parents came from Bangladesh in the 1970s to the UK with hopes to create a better life and set up a restaurant in the 1990s in Northfield, Birmingham. In what was then a pre-dominantly non-multicultural area, Hashu attended a church school where he discovered his love for arts through singing hymns and school plays. In order to make his parents happy, Hashu suppressed his creativity for much of his early life focussing more on being academic and studying subjects that were more traditionally studied by people from a South Asian background. After graduating with a 1st class integrated masters in Engineering with Business Management from the University of Birmingham, Hashu began to rediscover his love for the arts after setting up his YouTube channel in 2017 under the alias 'SMASHBengali'. Focussing primarily on creating content that draws on his upbringing and cultural identity, Hashu built an online community who he referred to as "The Gushti" which translates to "Family" in his mother-tongue Bengali. Hashu made his debut on television by being a contestant on season 3 of Channel 4's hit reality show "The Circle" where he stole the hearts of the nation by impersonating his 63 year old Uncle - Syed Islam. He currently wakes the nation up at the weekend breakfast host for BBC Asian Network."

Who is the podcast for?
Mainly for those people who are looking for inspiration and want to hear about Winston's PhD journey.
About Milap
A musician at heart, and a technologist by education, Milap stumbled into Signal Processing as a student of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering. With this in mind, he proceeded to get a Master's in Music Technology from Georgia Tech. This led to a journey where he developed interesting products, like Popsical Remix - the world's smallest karaoke machine, and BeneTalk, a wearable device that helps people with a stammer improve their speech. He is also a performing Indian classical musician, who has performed at various locations around the world. His PhD is supervised by Dr Philip Coleman and Dr Russell Mason, at the Institute of Sound Recording University of Surrey, and is supported by Bang & Olufsen and Surrey's Doctoral College.

What is this podcast about?
In this podcast, I talk to Natalya Androsova who is a writing and dissertation coach and helps students from all levels to become thoughtful and authentic writers. She shares her journey with me and I invite you all to take a listen.
Who is the podcast for?
Mainly for those people who want to overcome writing blocks and hear from an expert who coaches people on how to do it.
About Natalya
Natalya is an award-winning writing and dissertation coach with over two decades of experience teaching writing. She has coached professional writers and university writers of all skill levels–students, staff, and faculty.
Her passion is helping writers become more courageous, authentic, and kind to themselves. Through individual coaching, writing groups, and writing retreats, she has helped thousands of writers to break through blocks and find inspiration, a more authentic voice, and greater freedom in their writing and their life.
She lives in Toronto, Canada, and when she is not writing or meditating, she loves to play tennis, practice yoga, or sit by the water and cloud watch for hours. In her own writing practice, spanning three decades, she discovered that beliefs we have about our writing are not different from the beliefs we have about ourselves, so a new way of writing often translates into a new way of living. What was impossible becomes probable and even likely when we learn to write and live without fear.
Natalya is the author of two books – The Gratitude Effect and 7 Minutes to Freedom. Her third book, Dissertation Without Tears, dispelling 58 most common dissertation writing myths is scheduled to be released in 2022.
To get a free copy of 5 Easy Ways to Overcome Writer’s Block and Start Writing Today, to download 2 chapters from my book of writing meditations, or to chat about your writing goals, visit writingdissertationcoach.com - The first call is always free!

In this podcast I talk to Lauren Kilbee on her journey on becoming a Health Psychologist. The Health Psychologist profession is a varied and diverse role where people can work in a range of settings. About Lauren I’m a recently qualified Health Psychologist, currently working as a Research Associate at the University of Manchester. My journey into psychology began 14 years ago when I started my undergraduate degree. I really struggled during my first year and made the decision to transfer to a different university to complete the remainder of my degree closer to home. I graduated in 2011 but left without knowing which area of psychology I wanted to pursue as a career (Health Psychology wasn’t mentioned during my undergrad!). I then spent a couple of years working as a Business Analyst in finance, then, following redundancy, I joined the pharmaceutical industry as a sales representative in 2013. It was working in a healthcare environment and speaking to healthcare professionals on a daily basis that made me realise the huge role that psychology has in health, illness, and healthcare. A few Google searches later I ‘discovered’ Health Psychology. I read as much as I could about the work Health Psychologists did, and it just clicked – I knew that was what I wanted to do. I then completed my MSc in Health Psychology (Stage 1) at the University of Stirling in 2016/17, followed by the Stage 2 Qualification in Health Psychology via the NHS Education for Scotland programme. During Stage 2 I was employed as a Trainee Health Psychologist in the NHS for two years, working in both a Clinical Health Psychology Service and a Health Improvement Team. About Psychology Cast My name is Jolel Miah and I am the host of the Podcast Psychology Cast, I started my career in Psychology in 2006 and I now use it to explain human behaviour to the people around me and how they can apply it in their daily lives. In this podcast, I talk to John and Russell to mark International Men's Day 2020. We talk about International Men's Day in relation to Masculinity and Mental Health. This is part 2 named THE PATH
About the guests
John was in the US Military for 18 years during which he’s done multiple tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan. John describes himself as “a guy with some life experience that wants to share some of his failures so that you fail better.” He created Men’s Methodology to examine modern masculinity because he feels the rules and landscape or battlefield if you will are different for men and women. John promotes open and honest dialogues to normalize attitudes of weakness and vulnerability for the guys. He also encourages the female perspective from his female followers since it’s critically important to have a holistic discourse about masculinity with both. Contact John on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/mensmethodology/
Russell helps men that are feeling stuck develop an unconquerable mindset and learn the fundamentals of neuro-transformation so that they can create extraordinary lives and become the masters of their fate. He believes that our thoughts create our reality and that the key to living the life you want is developing an unconquerable mindset. After going through a personal health crisis that left him near death and unable to walk, he learned the power of the mind to overcome severe tragedy. He left a 25-year career as an Insurance Executive to start Invictus Life, where he now leads men on outdoor adventures and works one-on-one with men to develop their own Unconquerable Mindsets and once again become Masters of their Fate. About Susan Bartrop
Coming late into academia has allowed me to experience many careers in a variety of different sectors, but always in a people-focused role. Experience in the public sector when a young apprentice, helped me gain good interpersonal skills. Working as a health care assistant, taught me how to be compassionate. When in a teaching and assessors role on how to listen, observe and facilitate. Later, employed as a specialist domiciliary assistant with special needs children and young people, often on the autistic spectrum, gave me purpose and reward. Being diagnosed with Dyslexia only a few years ago was a revelation, but not a surprise, which has led to a better understanding of self and my abilities as an individual. My desire has always been to help people, working with empathy and understanding in an authentic way, guided by my values. My psychology degree paved the way into coaching and a natural progression was a PG in coaching, which I achieved at a London University, with a distinction. I plan to continue my studying with an MSc in coaching next year.
