Hey Collectors!
In our last episode, we talked about the practical side of decluttering — having a plan, knowing where things go, and making space in your schedule. But today, we’re going deeper. Because sometimes, the hardest clutter to clear out... isn’t physical. It’s emotional.
Are you keeping items out of guilt, obligation, or fear?
If you’ve ever held onto something because it reminds you of someone, or because you might need it "someday," or because it cost you a lot of money — this episode is for you. Until next time, Rachel xoxo
Hey Collectors!
Today we’re diving into something that seems simple on the surface, but often gets overwhelming fast — decluttering. Whether you're staring at a messy garage, a packed closet, or that junk drawer you’re scared to open... this one’s for you. Before you pull everything out and create an even bigger mess, I want to share the five key things you should know before you start. These tips can save you time, stress, and serious frustration.
Decluttering is one of those tasks that always takes more time than you plan for. You might think you’re just tackling the bathroom cabinet — but suddenly you’re deep in expired sunscreen and half-used travel bottles from 2017.
It's great to be prepared so tune in for five tips to help you feel prepared when starting your decluttering project...
Hey Collectors!
On this episode, we’re joined by Deborah Derrickson Kossmann, psychologist and author of the deeply moving memoir Lost Found Kept.
In this conversation, Deborah takes us into the heart of a childhood home filled with memories—and decades of her mother’s compulsive hoarding.
Through the emotional excavation of physical space, she uncovers much more: a layered portrait of grief, love, mental illness, and the power of objects to hold meaning.
Whether you’ve lived through something similar or are simply drawn to stories of healing and family complexity, this episode is for you.

Hey Collectors!
Todays episode is all about the process. Let me give you a couple of hints - it's not about containers. Sorting, and organizng are different actions.
My professional organizer colleagues have created fancy acronyms for the process, I have not. I am sure I could but I have yet to be tempted. My process is just like theirs. All professional organizers more or less have the same process. Some of us are dealing with more stuff than others.
Have you found yourself strolling through Marshalls and couldn't help buying six new containers even though you have no intended purpose for them? Stop it. You're not following the process. Tune in for my abbreviated non acronymically version of how to get organized...
Hey Collectors! On this episode of the Hoardganize Podcast I discuss how to declutter your kitchen of potentially toxic items. Below are some of the utensils and cookware that may contain chemicals that are harmful to you and your family (don't forget your fur kids either).
Utensils & Cookware That May Contain Chemicals 1. Nonstick Cookware (Teflon) * Chemical: PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) and formerly PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid) * Risk: At high temperatures (over 500°F), nonstick coatings can break down and release toxic fumes. * Tip: Use nonstick only on low/medium heat, avoid scratched pans, or switch to ceramic-coated alternatives.
Tip: Use BPA-free plastics, or switch to glass, stainless steel, or silicone.
Aluminum Cookware (especially uncoated) * Chemical: Aluminum
Tip: Use anodized aluminum or switch to stainless steel.
Copper Cookware * Chemical: Copper
Tip: Use only lined copper cookware.
Melamine Dishes * Chemical: Melamine

Hey Collectors!
We all have items that we would rather keep to ourselves, right? SO what if you are going to have house cleaners or professional organizers come over? What do you do with that stuff?
It's nothing to be ashamed about, we are all adults here. I promised to be irreverent so here we are ya'll.
Tip #1 The nightstand is a great place to hide stuff.
Tip #2 It's ok to tell people not to work in certain areas. We all have an idea of where not to go.
TIP #3 If you have your kinky stuff all around the house collect it together and then put it into your nightstand.
Stop letting your anxiety of what we might find hold you back from having your home organized. WE have seen it all. Believe me. It's nothing to be embarrased and ashamed about. And guess what? There is actually a place where it belongs.

On this podcast I am pleased to introduce you to Jean-François Lappas!
J.F. spent years chasing success, only to realise he was running in the wrong direction. Burned out and disconnected, he left a 14-year corporate career—not to find something new, but to finally reconnect with himself. That shift changed everything. He stopped letting fear make his decisions. He learned to set boundaries that actually protected him. He built an inner voice he could trust. Now, as co-founder of WABYA, he helps others do the same.
What is WABYA? What is coaching?
Put simply, coaching helps achieve your personal and professional goals.
through guided self-discovery, it allows you to explore who you are - and to become the best version of yourself.
consultants improve situations; coaches improve people.
mentors say “follow me.” a coach reveals where you're standing on the map and asks, “where shall we go next?”
therapists examine the past to help you cope with the present. a coach builds on your present to create your future.
your best friend has opinions and agendas. your coach has a process.

Hey Collectors!
On this weeks podcast I interviewed Rachel Arbuckle with 2000PACES and learned so much about organizing photos. This is definitely one of my favorite podcasts I have recorded. My note page was full of notes I was writing while recording. I am SO motivated to get my own photos in order!
Most of us have stacks of loose photos, thumb drives, old phones, laptops, pcs, and other devices full of photos. How do we organize our photos so that we can share our legacy with our friends and family? How do you sift through the minutia and produce something shareable. How can you cherish your most favorite photos if they're in a box somewhere?
Rachel Arbuckle shares three (Actually 4!) tips on how to professionally organize your photos. Make sure you have a pen and paper ready, because you do not want to miss this episode!
Rachel also discusses her business that she created (2000PACES) as resource for our listeners and anyone worldwide who needs professional help downsizing and organizing their photos.
Here is Rachel's story:
In 2014, a series of fierce fires roared through San Diego County, the largest of which started on the mountain just behind my home. I had only minutes to grab a few items. My instinct was to gather all of our photos, but I panicked when I realized my precious memories were all over our home in boxes, picture frames, and albums. I grabbed what I could and our family headed to safety. After many days of worry, we were able to return home to the memories we had to leave behind. Thankfully, our home was spared, but others in our community were not as fortunate. This experience not only solidified my commitment to protect my family’s collection of photos but prompted me to found 2000 Paces Photo Organizing, encouraging you to organize and protect your important memories.

Hey Collectors!
On this episode I ask expert Madison Gunn from Absolute Trust Counsel several questions about estate planning and wills. This is a follow up to the last few episodes where we discuss preparing for death. This episode includes incapacitation which is a state I hadn't considered before recording this.
What happens if you get in a car accident? What happens to you, your stuff and your family? Are they protected if you get incapacitated somehow? What about if you die?
These are questions we don't like to face.
I face them daily with families who are searching their loved ones homes and belongings to see if there are any documents that can help them determine their loved ones requests.
While we are sifting through all of their belongings, we save every usb stick, every laptop, every device. What if there's a will on there? How do we open the files? So much time an energy being spent on searching for something that most likely was never created. Lots of extra resources spent looking through every document file. I have seen people spend hundreds to have safe's cracked open only to find nothing relevant inside.
It's time to take your life back Collectors. It's time to get your affairs in order. Don't leave your family members frantic in an emergency because they can't find your important documents.
