ENGLISH: It's been 9 months since we posted our last video. Since then, we have received many comments and E-mails asking us "when are you going to post the next one?". With time, the questions became, "why did you suddenly stop?"
Just to clarify, we are not dead. We haven't been captured by aliens either. After a year and a half of making wonderful videos, we decided to give Viviendo con Fallas a break. We made some good friends while making VcF, and it has given us great moments on our lives.
To all of you who left comments, even if it was just one, to those of you who even wrote us an E-mail, to those of you we actually met in person... Thank you for your time.

ESPAÑOL Hace 9 meses que publicamos nuestro último video. Desde entonces hemos recibido muchísimos E-mails y comentarios preguntándonos: "Cuándo van a publicar el próximo?" Con el tiempo, esa pregunta cambió a: "Por qué dejaron de hacer videos?".
Para clarificar, no estamos muertos. Ni fuímos secuestrados por extraterrestres. Después de un año y medio de hacer videos, decidimos que era tiempo de darle una pausa a Viviendo con Fallas. Durante ese año y medio, tuvimos buenos momentos.
A todos aquellos que nos dejaron comentarios, asi haya sido uno solo; a los que nos escribieron E-mails, a los que llegamos a conocer en persona... Muchas gracias por su tiempo.

So this "sancocho" is a very typical dish in Colombia. We hope you guys "enjoy it".
We tried a lot to have this video shorter, but it was impossible. I think we have to shoot less stuff, so the videos won't be as heavy as this one.

Halloween?
On Saturday 28 of October, we were invited to Juank's and Angie's Halloween Party. They have become a regular past of the cast in VcF, and we couldn't be happier (we hope they don't begin charging us!!! Jajaja). Anyway, the party began around 6pm, and went on for 7-8 hours.

El Sábado 28 de Octubre, estuvimos en la Fiesta de Halloween de Juank y Angie. Ellos se han convertido en parte del elenco de VcF, y no podríamos estar mas contentos (esperamos que no les dé por empezar a cobrar por su aparición!! Jajajaja). Bueno, la fiesta comenzó a las 6pm, y se prolongó por 7-8 horas.

It's been almost a month without posting videos. We've been busy fighting aliens in another galaxy! Jaja. So, here's a sneak peek of our next episode... coming next Friday.

Episode 27: Rice Pudding
On this ocasion, Ximena and Juan make "rice pudding". This isn't the first time they "cook something". If you haven't, check these other 'cooking episodes' where they make -real- smashed potatoes with fried chicken; and this other one where they make Thai Chicken.
On a side note, this is our first episode in wide screen.
For those of you who don't know, Ximena & Juan entered Viviendo con Fallas to a videoblog contest made by Intel Mexico, and they ended up winning First Place with this video.!!!! One of the prizes was a Sony HDV camera, which shoots in 1080i. Obviously Juan couldn't be happier!!!!

En esta ocasion, Ximena y Juan hacen "arroz de leche". Esta no es la primer vez que cocinan algo, no. En caso de que no los hayan visto todavía, esta el episodio en el que hiceron pure de papa (de verdad) con pollo frito; y este otro en el que hicieron Pollo Thai.
Cambiando de tema, este es nuestro primer episodio en formato cine.
Para aquellos que no saben, Ximena & Juan inscribieron a Viviendo con Fallas en un concurso de videoblogs organizado por Intel México, y terminaron ganando el Primer Puesto con este video!!! Uno de los premios fué una cámara Sony HDV, que graba en 1080i. Obviamente Juan no podría estar mas felíz!!!!!

After 5 weeks, we're back!
Work has kept us busy these past 45 days, but today we finally have a new episode!
A while back we did a video called "Moments in the Kitchen". This week's episode was inspired by it. We plan on doing a few more like this in the future as they're lots of fun to do!!!
With this new video, we hope to get back on track posting a video each Friday.

Después de 5 semanas, hemos regresado!
El trabajo nos ha mantenido ocupados en estos últimos 45 días, pero hoy finalmente tenemos un nuevo episodio!
Hace un tiempo hicimos un video que se llama "Momentos en la Cocina". El episodio de esta semana esta basado en el. Es muy divertido hacer estos videos, asi que esperamos hacer otros en el futuro.
Con este nuevo video, esperamos volver a la normalidad y postear un nuevo video cada Viernes.
Nos encantan los comentarios que nos dejan! Muchas gracias pro tomarse el tiempo de escribirlos. Queremos hacer una mencion especial a roderick y a manblogger.

One year ago today, on a day just like this, we posted our first video. At that time, we didn't know that one year later we would still be posting videos. It's been an amazing year. We look back at our 45 videos, and it's just incredible how it has become like an album, but instead of photographs, it has videos!
Although we began this videoblog so our families (who are in Colombia) could see our lives here in the US, it's been wonderful to read all the comments we receive from people we don't even know. It's pretty amazing actually! We can't deny that every time we post a new video, we wait paciently for the comments to arrive.
We've made good friends on the vlogosphere, we've actually met some of them in person; others, we still hope to meet. We've been to different places. We've made videos with some of our dearest friends. And we hope to continue doing them!
So, to begin the celebrations of our first anniversary, we think it's just fair that we post our very first episode again. Let's remember how we looked one year ago, shall we?

Hace un año, en un día como hoy, publicamos nuestro primer video. En esa época no sabiamos que un año después ibamos a estar todavía publicando videos. Ha sido un año espectacular! Vemos estos 45 videos, y es increible como se ha convertido en un album, pero en vez de fotos, tiene videos!
Aunque comenzamos este videoblog para que nuestras familias (que están en Colombia) vieran nuestras vidas acá en Estados Unidos, no podemos negar que es emocionante leer todos los comentarios que nos deja la gente que inclusive no conocemos. La verdad, es impresionante! No podemos negar que cada vez que publicamos un video, esperamos pacientemente a que nos dejen comentarios.
Hemos hecho buenos amigos en la vlogósfera, inclusive hemos conocido algunos de ellos en persona, y otros esperamos hacerlo. Hemos estado en muchos lugares. Hemos hecho videos con algunos de nuestro amigos mas cercanos. Y esperamos continuar haciendolos!
Asi que para comenzar la celebración de nuestro primer aniversario, creemos que es mas que justo volver a publicar nuestro primer video. Recordemos como nos veíamos hace un año. Vale?

Episode 26: Collage of Colombia
Ok, so this is the 10th video from our trip to Colombia. To be honest, we never thought there were going to be so many, but while editing them it was clear that we had a lot of material.
And, believe us: there's still A WHOLE LOT OF MATERIAL we didn't use.
So, it occured to us that we can make one last video with this shots. Shots we didn't use in the previous 9 episodes.
So, with this video, we end our "virtual trip" through Colombia. There's a lot of family members who appear here for the first time, so its nice to see them here. Specialy my uncle Mono, who passed away after we came back. He is the man with glasses playing cards.
For posterity, these new 10 videos; which with the pass of time, will make us remember this wonderful vacation.

Entonces, este es nuestro décimo video de nuestro viaje a Colombia. Para ser honestos, nunca creímos que fuesen a ser tantos, pero mientras los editabamos era obvio que teniamos que bastante material.
Y creannos: todavía hay BASTANTE MATERIAL que no usamos.
Entonces, se nos ocurrio que podiamos hacer un último video con estas tomas. Tomas que no usamos en los 9 episodios anteriores.
Asi que con este video terminamos el "viaje virtual" por Colombia. Hay bastantes miembros de mi familia que aparecen por primera vez, asi que es bueno verlos aquí. Especialmente a mi tio Mono, quien murio despues de haber regresado de Colombia. Es el señor de gafas que esta jugando cartas.
Para la posteridad, estos nuevos 10 videos, que con el pasar del tiempo, nos recordaran unas lindas vacaciones.

San Diego Zoo
There are only 11 pandas in the US, 4 of them in the San Diego Zoo. I learnt this after visiting the zoo, while reading the July edition of the National Geographic.

En EEUU hay solo 11 pandas, 4 de ellos en el Zoológico de San Diego. Esto lo aprendí después de haber visitado el zoológico, leyendo la edición de Julio de la revista National Geographic.

Last Sunday we were invited to have a "World Cup Brunch" at Joe's and Alison's house. Remember them from the Christmas Tree episode. They invited several friends to watch the final between France and Italy.

One of the good things about going to the farm in Colombia, is that there are always a lot of fruits to eat. And not apples or pears, no; I'm refering to different and exotic fruits, like the Cacao, Mamey, Badea or Madroño. I like them all, so I was in heaven!

Una de las cosas bacanas de ir a la finca en Colombia, es que siempre hay muchas frutas para comer. Y no manzanas o peras, no; me refiero a frutas diferentes y exoticas, como el Cacao, el Mamey, la Badea o el Madroño. A mi todas me gustan, asi que estaba en el cielo.

Episode 22: Guarapo
The 'guarapo' is made from sugar canes. You need a 'trapiche' or 'molino' to be able to make it as you will see in the video. In my opinion, 'delicious' is a word that will never make justice to it's taste. I'd say it is more than delicious! I think the guarapo is one of those things you can only get in Colombia, nowhere else.

El 'guarapo' se hace de las cañas de azucar. Se necesita un molino o trapiche para pdoer hacerlo, tal cual lo veran en el video. En mi opinion, la palabra 'delicioso' se queda chiquita a la hora de describir su sabor. Yo dira que es mucho mas que delicioso. Creo que el guarapo es una de esas cosas que solo se cosiguen en Colombia.

Once we arrived at my grandmother's house in Neiva, I began talking to her and I ended up asking her how long had she lived in this house. She answered: 60 years. When I heard this, I knew I had to get the camera out and record the conversation. This video shows her giving us a tour of her house.
