We are pleased to present the fall semester’s premier episode of the CTL’s podcast, Beyond the Class, featuring Cape Breton University’s Dr. Bishakha Mazumdar, our newest University Teaching Chair focused on Culturally Responsive Learning Design.

Geoff details a teaching strategy he's been working on for the last seven years, Mastery Tasks, which not only facilitates an authentic assessment of students' learning, but also encourages one-on-one relationship development between the learner and educator. This provides more opportunities for teachable moments and an opportunity to guide students to mastery.
