Arnie Ostrander is a non-seismic oil and gas exploration consultant and researcher. His early research work with Exxon, Marathon, Texaco, and other major oil companies and some smaller independents demonstrated the potential of using non-seismic resistivity technology for oil exploration in plays where seismic data does not delineate the oil and gas reservoirs. Arnie's 40-year focus has been the utilization of non-seismic geophysical methods for the delineation of high-volume, high profit, and underdeveloped fracture reservoirs, and some potentially high-volume stratigraphic reservoirs that were not observed in either 2-D or 3-D seismic data.

There is a special place in the universe where a person with passion has the hard work to really make a difference. This is exactly what Shawn Dawsey from Downhole Diagnostic has done!

Downhole Diagnostic diagnoses your downhole! I use a Fluid Level Gun and a Dynamometer (Dyno) [metaphorically depicted above] to determine the fluid level and measure the downhole pump performance on Rod Pumped Wells. To be more precise, Dynamometers are only applicable to Rod Pumped wells while Fluid Level Surveys can be used on any type of producing oil or gas well that doesn't have a Packer (Fluid Level Shots can even be taken down the tubing, for example: if a tubing leak is suspected). I then submit my findings in a concise report along with any optimization recommendations.

We had a great time sitting down with Pablo and talk about data generation at the wellsite! Here’s a little more about the man in the show -

***In every crisis, opportunity awaits those who prepare for it, so this is the time to get to work. When the petroleum business cycle rebounds, you need to be positioned ahead of your competitors.

My name is Pablo Perez, and I am ready to manage your project from start to completion.

With 20 years’ experience in the oil and gas business, I have the know-how to help my clients tap new sources of oil revenue, especially in the international market. I pursue projects until I achieve my client’s ultimate goal through hard work and operating under strict business ethics.

As the world’s business markets expand, it is important to navigate the diverse cultures with their different languages and work structures. I have worked successfully in the international community, especially in Mexico, South America, Europe, and the Middle East. More than a sales agent, companies need a business partner like me who understands what it takes to operate successfully in foreign environments.

I create the necessary processes to get projects up and running and take your requirements into consideration in order to maximize ROI. I also know whom to talk to and whom to trust in foreign locations.

My track record includes a project I did for a wellsite data management company, for whom I was hired to develop their Latin American market. That company does drilling operations in real-time and hired me to generate accounts with expectations of bringing in $50,000 a month. I produced revenue between $500,000 and $1 million a month over 10 years.

One of my biggest projects was with Pemex in Mexico. I negotiated and signed a framework agreement allowing my customer to provide a wide range of services, enabling us to go from $0 to $25 million a year. I also assisted in showing the success with Pemex to help land other big contracts with NOCs like Saudi Aramco.

If those are the kinds of results you are looking for, contact me via email at pablo.perez@bardasz.com.***

We had a great time sitting down with Zach and talking carbon! Here’s a little more about the man in the show -

***With over 20 years of upstream experience, I specialize in CO2 EOR and CCS. As a licensed Petroleum Engineer and Chartered Financial Analyst, I possess expertise in CO2 storage, hydrogen storage, CCS MMV/MVR, Class VI permitting, 45Q, and LCFS.

My skills in petrophysics, geology, geomechanics, and finance enable me to conduct conventional and unconventional oil and gas petrophysical and geological evaluations with tools like Geolog, Techlog, PETREL, and PETRA. I also have experience in geomechanics analysis (PPFG, Fault Seal, MEM, WBS, HF), reserves and economics (PHDWin, ARIES), and leadership, presentation, and public speaking.

In my free time, I enjoy playing golf. If you would like to discuss CO2 EOR and CCS, petrophysics, geology, geomechanics, or finance, feel free to connect with me.***

Long-Time Petroleum Engineer Wayne Wisniewski shares his story of how he got involved with KinFrac and his relationship with the late legend, Ed Anders -

How KinFrac WorksKinFrac is the ultimate solution for variable pulse fracking. KinFrac generates a huge, repeatable kinetic energy pulse for maximum fracture development. Additionally, by incorporating CO2 gas into the fracking fluid, KinFrac converts an incompressible fluid column into a compressible fluid volume. The compressed CO2 gas within the fluid column captures the tremendous kinetic energy generated from the rapid deceleration of the fracking fluid which is used for more complete and complex fracture growth.

Production Cost SavingsKinFrac requires fewer surface pumps and less horse power, yet produces greater fracturing energy than conventional fracking techniques. Significantly less water is required in the KinFrac process, resulting in additional savings.

The InventorEdward O. Anders earned his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1950. With over 50 years of experience in the oil field, as well as the corporate world, and with numerous patents to his name, his first Kinetic Energy patent, 'Apparatus, Systems, and Methods for Fracturing a Geological Formation' aka KinFrac, is the invention he considers to be the professional achievement of his lifetime. Subsequently a second and third patent have issued and a forth and fifth are in progress adding to what Mr. Anders envisioned as an entire "Family of Kinetic Energy Patents". The final two patents should issue in 2021. To view the first three patents in the "family" please see section below.

Sadly, Mr. Anders passed away on December 15, 2018 at the age of 92. However, his legacy will live on as his work will continue through his family and professional associates as they pursue his dream of revolutionizing the oil industry. Through his methods, extracting shale oil will become more economical and environmentally friendly and will help the US to become more oil and gas independent which was Mr. Anders' lifelong goal.

Founder of Integrity insitu, a downhole geomechanical tool that can help constrain your regional and local stresses and strains in the rocks for many applications. His resilience is inspirational and the technology really got us thinking! Every rock on the planet is a record of time, the magic is figuring out what the strains were during the time of deposition AND what the current day stresses and strains are.
