And when you will have heard of battles and seditions, do not be terrified. These things must happen first. But the end is not so soon.” 10. Then he said to them: “People will rise up against people, and kingdom against kingdom. 11. And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and pestilences, and famines, and terrors from heaven; and there will be great signs. 12. But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, handing you over to synagogues and into custody, dragging you before kings and governors, because of my name. 13. And this will be an opportunity for you to give testimony. 14. Therefore, set this in your hearts: that you should not consider in advance how you might respond. 15. For I will give to you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries will not be able to resist or contradict. 16. And you will be handed over by your parents, and brothers, and relatives, and friends. And they will bring about the death of some of you. 17. And you will be hated by all because of my name. 18. And yet, not a hair of your head will perish. 19. By your patience, you shall possess your souls.

- And the Pharisees and some of the scribes, arriving from Jerusalem, gathered together before him. 02. And when they had seen certain ones from his disciples eating bread with common hands, that is, with unwashed hands, they disparaged them. 03. For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, do not eat without repeatedly washing their hands, holding to the tradition of the elders. 04. And when returning from the market, unless they wash, they do not eat. And there are many other things which have been handed down to them to observe: the washings of cups, and pitchers, and bronze containers, and beds. 05. And so the Pharisees and the scribes questioned him: “Why do your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but they eat bread with common hands?” 06. But in response, he said to them: “So well did Isaiah prophesy about you hypocrites, just as it has been written: ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. 07. And in vain do they worship me, teaching the doctrines and precepts of men.’ 08. For abandoning the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men, to the washing of pitchers and cups. And you do many other things similar to these.” 09. And he said to them: “You effectively nullify the precept of God, so that you may observe your own tradition. 10. For Moses said: ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘Whoever will have cursed father or mother, let him die a death.’ 11. But you say, ‘If a man will have said to his father or mother: Korban, (which is a gift) whatever is from me will be to your benefit,’ 12. then you do not release him to do anything for his father or mother, 13. rescinding the word of God through your tradition, which you have handed down. But the fishermen had climbed down, and they were washing their nets. 03. And so, climbing into one of the boats, which belonged to Simon, he asked him to draw back a little from the land. And sitting down, he taught the crowds from the boat. 04. Then, when he had ceased speaking, he said to Simon, “Lead us into deep water, and release your nets for a catch.” 05. And in response, Simon said to him: “Teacher, working throughout the night, we caught nothing. But on your word, I will release the net.” 06. And when they had done this, they enclosed such a copious multitude of fish that their net was rupturing. 07. And they signaled to their associates, who were in the other boat, so that they would come and help them. And they came and filled both boats, so that they were nearly submerged. 08. But when Simon Peter had seen this, he fell down at the knees of Jesus, saying, “Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.” 09. And when they were not able to present him to him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where he was. And opening it, they lowered down the stretcher on which the paralytic was lying. 05. Then, when Jesus had seen their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.” 06. But some of the scribes were sitting in that place and thinking in their hearts: 07. “Why is this man speaking in this way? He is blaspheming. Who can forgive sins, but God alone?” 08. At once, Jesus, realizing in his spirit that they were thinking this within themselves, said to them: “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts? 09. Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Rise up, take up your stretcher, and walk?’ 10. But so that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins,” he said to the paralytic: 11. “I say to you: Rise up, take up your stretcher, and go into your house.” 12. Highlights We can see the little mustard seed of the parable like we see the Kingdom of Heaven, it may look small, but it is always expanding through the World, outside us, and inside yourselves. The leaven, we could see the Word of Jesus like a leaven in the wheat flour, the Word of the Lord is working without us seeing it in the interior and the exterior of us. In Psalm 78:2, we can read the teaching: “I will open my mouth in a parable,” Jesus does the same, like the command of the Psalm.

Highlights Jesus told the parable of the Good Shepherd to the Pharisees. Pharisees were the ones that studied the laws, the ones that should know the right choices. But the ones that should see clearly the value of the teachings of Christ didn't see it. The door was open, and the Pharisees did not understand it and did not reach salvation.

The flesh does not offer anything of benefit. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. 65.But there are some among you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who were unbelieving and which one would betray him. 66.And so he said, “For this reason, I said to you that no one is able to come to me, unless it has been given to him by my Father.” 67.After this, many of his disciples went back, and they no longer walked with him. 68.Therefore, Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?” 69.Then Simon Peter answered him: “Lord, to whom would we go? Highlights
It is hard to choose the way offered to us by Jesus. Among many followers, only twelve stayed with him. Our lives on Earth are pointless without the teachings of Christ. When we don't want to fulfill our soul with his sacred Gospel, our flesh doesn't have a meaning, it is empty. The saying of Peter, choosing to be with the Son of God, is everyone's fundamental choice in life.

Highlights In the Hebrew language, the words flesh and blood had the meaning of a complete person; it was a usual expression of that time and land. Have flesh and blood of Jesus is to be entirely with him. Flesh and blood are with us today in the Eucharist when we have the bread and the wine, as Christ taught the Apostles. At the Catholic Church, the bread and the wine consecrated at Mass are changed to the flesh and the blood of Jesus. We still have the appearance of bread and wine, but at Mass, we have flesh and blood of the Son of God. It occurs the Transubstantiation, when the change of substance only happens, not a change of look.

Highlights Only Christ is the true bread. In the past, They ate the mana in the desert and died. Now, people eat other kinds of bread and perish also. Only the Son of the Father saw the Father because Jesus is the way to salvation.

Highlights Jesus comes from heaven to give eternal life to all the women and to all the men, but Jesus is human also. It is hard to believe that the son of Joseph is the Son of God. Salvation has only one way, which is to trust that Jesus is the bread of life and seek his teachings.

The relation between the acts and teachings of Jesus and the Old Testament is a constant presence in the New Testament. The prophecies of the Old Testament are fulfilled by the Son of God in the New Testament.

Believe in God is the way to Salvation. The Sacraments of the Church are the way to show love to God. Jesus set the Sacrament of the Eucharist when the Son of God shared the bread.
The bread of God doesn’t break down like the bread of men. Jesus is the Bread of God and feeds our soul when we are following his teachings.

Highlights The act of Jesus sharing the bread among the Jews in Galilee connects with the Last Supper. Jesus is the bread of our life that comes from heaven. Eat the blessed bread is given thanks to salvation be open to all. Jesus be a King may refer to be a king of a state or be the Son of God. And many of the people and the powerful of the time of Christ did not understand this difference.

Highlights To be reborn is to accept the teachings of Christ. And the wind is the spirit, and it represents the blessing of God to all of us. The son being lifted up is Jesus in the cross and Moises lifting the snake are signs to the whole humanity and for people of Israel that salvation is offered to those who believe in God.

Highlights
Reborn anew can be born again or born from above; we need to become children of God in this new rebirth. When Jesus says about being reborn by water and the wind, it is the necessity of a new baptism. The teachings of being born from flesh and being born from the wind are very important. The natural birth is flesh, and the rebirth from God is wind. God is open to all humanity and receives everyone in his blessing.

Highlights Jesus appeared first to a woman, and the apostles didn't believe in her word. They knew about the resurrection by the teachings and, even so, they didn't trust her, as they did with the other two who saw Jesus also.
This shows their weak faith in Jesus' words.
The body of Christ resurrected was a real fact, not an imagination.
Go preach the gospel to every creature it is going to spread salvation to the whole world.

Highlights
Peter’s denials are one of the sins that happened during the Passion. There were Other sins like unbelief, the weakness of Pilates, the betrayal of Judas, and so on at that period.
But that sins are related to the death of Christ. His passing is the key to understand the salvation of all humanity despite all evildoing that we may make every day.
Jesus Martyrdom and the repentance of humans pave our way to eternal life.
Sins of past, present, or future are overcome when the Son of God suffers for us.

Then Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the earth. 7.And then, when they persevered in questioning him, he stood upright and said to them,
“Let whoever is without sin among you be the first to cast a stone at her.”
8.And bending down again, he wrote on the earth.
9.But upon hearing this, they went away, one by one, beginning with the eldest. And Jesus alone remained, with the woman standing in front of him.
10.Then Jesus, raising himself up, said to her:
“Woman, where are those who accused you? Has no one condemned you?”

God forgives the one who is in repentance and looks for an amendment. The accusers should look to be merciful to the woman and not try to kill her under stones.
It is relevant at the say of Christ, do not choose to sin anymore. God doesn’t accept sin; Our Father recognizes repentance and reconciliation.

Highlights This passage is straightforward about the division of the people. The Jews were divided between the ones who believed in Jesus Christ, in his teachings, in his act, and in his divine mission. And the other that considered him a blasphemer or something else than him as the Son of God.
The Old Testament had taught that the new Messiah would come from Bethlehem. And most of the people did not know that Jesus was born in Bethlehem. And Bethlehem Was the city of King David. Also, Christ was a descendant of David. The Old Scriptures had predicted all of these.
The holiness of Christ, by this point, was a public fact, the public debate about it was established and the powerful needed to deal with it. Even among the strong ones, there were some who believed in Jesus, like Nicodemus, who helped the Son of God.

25.Therefore, some of those from Jerusalem said: “Is he not the one whom they are seeking to kill? 26.And behold, he is speaking openly, and they say nothing to him. Could the leaders have decided that it is true this one is the Christ? 27.But we know him and where he is from. Highlights
Jesus completed the prophecies of the Old Testament concerning the promised Messiah.
But the people of the crowd were not open-eyed to his divine mission. They didn’t understand the deep of his acts and teachings.
For some, he was the Messiah, for other a prophet, or for other ones a blasphemer.
The place of birth of Jesus may be one of the causes of this mixture perception. The Son of God was born in Bethlehem, the same city where King David was born and the city where the new king of Israel would come from.
But Jesus grew up in Nazareth, not in Bethlehem. So, many thought that he was from Nazareth, not the city of King David.
It is nice to see that some Jews already believed in Jesus Holiness at that time.

Instead, I say these things, so that you may be saved. 35.He was a burning and shining light. So you were willing, at the time, to exult in his light. 36.But I hold a greater testimony than that of John. For the works which the Father has given to me, so that I may complete them, these works themselves that I do, offer testimony about me: that the Father has sent me. 37.And the Father who has sent me has himself offered testimony about me. And you have never heard his voice, nor have you beheld his appearance. 38.And you do not have his word abiding in you. For the one whom he sent, the same you would not believe. 39.Study the Scriptures. For you think that in them you have eternal life. Highlights Jesus Christ was questioned by some teachers of the Laws of the Old Testament, and the Son of God responded with rabbinical arguments.
He was accused of violating the Sabbath rest rule. He defended himself, arguing that he did not offend the sabbath rest. This law was not violated when you are serving God or your neighbor.
Under the Law of Moses, just one testimony was not enough to prove something; it was necessary two or more testimonies to your side be accepted by a judge.
So, Jesus presented three proofs: His acts, John Baptist’s testimonial, and The scriptures that were announcing what Jesus was doing.
With these three proofs, like said before, Jesus answered to his accusers of violating the sabbath with rabbinical arguments.

Highlights
In this passage, among other teachings, we can have a special look to Mary's role in the work of God in giving us our Savior. In parallel to the divine work in the immaculate conception, we can see the free consent of Mary. We see her choice when she says, "Let it be done". Mary had the will to become the Mother of Jesus. She turned the salvation for herself and for all humanity. In The Annunciation, Angel Gabriel praises her condition of being full of grace, she is the perfect body, without the Original Sin. The Son of God was conceived as a human being throughout the labor of the Holy Spirit. The Annunciation is the initial of the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary. The other Mysteries are The Visitation of Mary to Elizabeth, The Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ, The Presentation of our Lord, and The finding of Jesus in the Temple.

Highlights
We can learn that Christ is above the Sabbath. The life of everyone is above the laws for Jesus when he heals someone in the Sabbath. Our lord offered healing without being asked for. But Jesus told the healed: do not choose sin. This passage shows us Jesus acting with the authority of God, the power over illness, and sin. Just some Jews did not see Jesus as God made man and consider him just a blasphemer. We have to remember that not all Jews, not all Pharisees, were against the divinity of Christ, the Jews as a whole are not sinners. They were like every human, imperfect, fallible. Paragraph 1505 of Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches us that: "(Christ) healings were signs of the coming of the Kingdom of God. They announced a more radical healing: the victory over sin and death through his Passover. On the cross Christ took upon himself the whole weight of evil and took away the "sin of the world,". of which illness is only a consequence. By his Passion and death on the cross Christ has given a new meaning to suffering: it can henceforth configure us to him and unite us with his redemptive Passion."

"43.Then, after two days, he departed from there, and he traveled into Galilee. 44.For Jesus himself offered testimony that a Prophet has no honor in his own country. 45.And so, when he had arrived in Galilee, the Galileans received him, because they had seen all that he had done at Jerusalem, in the day of the feast. For they also went to the feast day. 46.Then he went again into Cana of Galilee, where he made water into wine. And there was a certain ruler, whose son was sick at Capernaum. 47.Since he had heard that Jesus came to Galilee from Judea, he sent to him and begged him to come down and heal his son. For he was beginning to die. 48.Therefore, Jesus said to him, “Unless you have seen signs and wonders, you do not believe.” 49.The ruler said to him, “Lord, come down before my son dies.” 50.Jesus said to him, “Go, your son lives.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and so he went away. 51.Then, as he was going down, his servants met him. And they reported to him, saying that his son was alive. 52.Therefore, he asked them at which hour he had become better. Highlights The Gospel of today tells us about believing in the Word of Christ. Everyone can believe, the ruler was a pagan officer with faith in the holy Word only. He did not have to see the cure of his son to trust in the holiness of the Son of God. The Word was more than enough. The sick son also is a sign of the power of the resurrection of Jesus. Christ prays for us, and we should believe in him, St. Augustine teaches three dimensions of his prayer: "He prays for us as our priest, prays in us as our Head, and is prayed to by us as our God. Therefore let us acknowledge our voice in him and his in us.

Highlights
It is interesting to underline two points in this passage:
First: Humility, contrition, and repentance are the way we must go in our lives to seek salvation.
And second: atax collector is mentioned because it was a job offered by the Roman Empire to Jews to collect money from the Jews. A tax collector is like a traitor.

The Law of the Gospels is not against the Law of the Old Testament. The teachings of Christ is an invitation to rediscover the meaning of the old text and to fulfill it. The example of the Master is the perfect accomplishment of the Law of Sinai.
Christ teaches us to be pure of heart. We do this When we Forgive the enemies and pray for the persecutors; we try to follow the divine generosity.

It was about the sixth hour. 7.When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, 'Give me something to drink.' 8.His disciples had gone into the town to buy food. 9.The Samaritan woman said to him, 'You are a Jew. Highlights
The three parables of chapter 15 of Saint Luke, the lost sheep, the lost coin and, this, the lost son, are the core of the holy gospel.
It represents the love of God to all, and even the lost son has a place in heaven. Jesus having a meal with sinners is the reconciliation between God and the lost ones.
The forgiveness of Christ is, also, the inclusion of the decays back in social life.
The coming back of the prodigal son represents the conversion of the sinners to the words and deeds of the Father of Christ.

Highlights
God is our only Father, our only guide, and we have only one teaching. Everyone is equal, and everybody is a servant of God.
To carry out the Law of God, we have to fulfill its commandments from our hearts.
If we only do obey the teachings in just an apparent way, we will not accomplish the divine instructions.
Formalities, like be called rabbi, father, master, or teacher, are not what matters for being a catholic.
To seek the teaching of God, through Jesus, we need to have theses lessons in our hearts.

Highlights
Today´s gospel is about the catholic need to love one another. This love has to come from our hearts and be merciful.
Being merciful is accept that only God can judge, and we must try to fulfill his commandments.
Love one another is necessary to help to build a just and fraternal society.
The Old Testament told us about the alliance between God and the people of Israel, this bond the Israelites to meet the divines laws.
To be just, to be merciful is not to judge and to love one another.

Highlights
We have to make a decisive choice towards the teachings of the Son of the man, and Do to the others what you expect them to do you is the Golden Rule. This command is the path towards the second commandment - love your neighbor.
God calls us to knock in his door, a call for a decisive choice, an option to believe that he is unique and absolute. Ask, seek, and knock is possible when we trust and are intimate to him.
Moreover, love your neighbor is a way to the new commandment, love one another as I have loved you. Jn Chapter 15, Verse 12. This new commandment is the men searching for the divine beatitude.

7:12 Called the "golden rule," this concept is part of the natural law and is a universal ethical standard. It is a nat“natural consequence to the Two Great Commandments to love God and to love our neighbor (cf. Today's gospel is about our faith; everyone has to believe in Jesus, in his acts, and in his teaching by oneself decision. The miracles only happen with the faithful ones.
Jesus was asked to give signs to the unfaithful, and he refused like he refused to devil in the pinnacle of the Temple.
Jonah spent three days in the whale's belly, and Jesus spent three days in the tomb, the dwellers of Nineveh and the Queen were an example of faith that Jesus expected from his people and he didn't find it.

Matthew Chapter 25, Verses 31 to 46 is The only passage in the holy gospels describing the final judgment.
The duties of feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, clothing the naked, sheltering the homeless, visiting the imprisoned, visiting the sick, burying the dead come from the commandment to love your neighbor. They are called Seven Corporal Works of Mercy.
The Corporal Works are connected with the Seven Spiritual Works of Mercy (admonishing the sinner, instructing the ignorant, counseling the doubtful, bearing wrongs patiently, forgiving injuries, comforting the sorrowful, praying for the living and the dead. These two Works are the path to our salvation.
We will be judged according to our behavior, our conduct helping the other spiritually and materially.
The Last Judgement is one of the Dogmas of the Church.
