This is the first of two episodes on the masculine & feminine, male & female. Episode one sets the archetypal landscape of these two basic elements of Life. I also discuss elements of the Divine Feminine in Eastern religions and Judeo-Christian traditions.
Grief, sadness, and trauma are at the root of many of our most vexing experiences in life; both individually and collectively. The body and mind keep the score, but meditation and consciousness can settle it.
"It seems that on a daily basis when you do Sadhana, nothing happens. But you don't do it out of greed. You do it to conquer your laziness, your ego, your stupidity, with your essence of committment. That's all Sadhana is. We don't do it to get anything."
A commitment to a regular spiritual practice can dissolve the resistance to God's grace, witin and without. Andy talks about his own struggles and journey with Sadhana.
How can we begin to heal from the conflicts and tribalist tendincies of our time? In this podcast Andy shares a specific tool for holding the meditative mind in the midst of the conflict and chaos of rapid change.
Use the coming eclipse to gently disengage from your narrow, mind-dominated stories, and simply deepen your inner practice and general awareness. Sat nam.
In every path of spiritual development the devotee grows through distinct stages. Being aware of these guideposts help make the spiritual path more comprehensible. - Also, a word about the American Covenant of Freedom.
"Time isn't precious at all, because it is an illusion. What you perceive as precious is not time but the one point that is not time: the Now. That is precious indeed. The more you are focused on time - the past and future - the more you miss the Now, the most precious thing there is....Realize deeply that the present moment is all you have. Make the NOW the primary focus of your life." - Ekhart Tolle
"Cold Depression" is endemic in our society. It's characterized by a sense of overwhelm as the pressures from outside are not matched by reserves inside of us. Yogic technology has useful tools to address this affliction and allow us to show up as ourselves and win the victory.
Every story has an ending, you just need to know when to stop. Stay present my friends. Sat nam.
May the Lord bless you and keep you...make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you.
The Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace."

A follow-up on the principle of fasting; and a few words about judging information gleaned through spiritual gifts.
The Law of the Fast is a significant part of many spiritual traditions. It isn't to torture us, but to "loose the bands...undo the heavy burdens, let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke." How does a simple principle of health accomplish these miraculous feats?

Andy's favorite painting is Carl Bloch's "Pool of Besthesda", depicting Christ's instantaneous healing of the invalid described in John 5. Some scriptural scholars have estimated that the paralyzed man who was healed after 38 years of illness, may have attempted to enter the supposedly miraculous pool more than 14,000 times! Even if you have failed thousands of times, God knows and loves you, and you may succeed on the 14,001st time! This episode is Andy's story.
