What is the heart of missions? Pastor Tim Case, Senior Pastor of Covenant Life Church in Henrietta, NY, motivates the students to understand the heart of God in order to understand the heart of missions. Psalms 145:8 says, “The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.” Love is the heart of God towards people. It’s because of God’s great love that He desires that none should perish but that His people should instead choose life. Sadly, as Christians, we can know this concept very well, yet not apply it. Before we ask God where He wants to send us, we need to live out His heart for others. This is a message that will change your perspective!
What does it mean to love my neighbor? As a pastor of pastors, Rev. Tom Brazell has not only experience leading the local church, but the international church as he and his wife served many years in the Dominican Republic of Congo. He shares with our students a straightforward message about how Jesus said what He meant, and meant what he said. Acts 1:8 affirms, "...you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Jesus not only commanded his disciples to go to the ends of the earth to minister but He ministered to different people throughout Judea, Samaria, and wherever God took Him. Rev. Tom elaborates on what it means to minister to our own Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth. Most Christians, he states, "would not admit that they dislike Samaria (those people who are difficult to minister to)". Nevertheless, we are called to love and minister to "Samaritans" simply because God loves them too, and they need a savior.
Alex Seidler, Director of Global Ministries at Elim Fellowship, has a passion for seeing the least reached places of the earth reached for Jesus. As a graduate of Elim Bible Institute and College, Alex knows that the heart of Elim is for missions! Alex shares the secret to changing the world: taking small steps of obedience. Preaching from Matt. 21:28-31, Jesus shows us that the Son who obeyed the Father was not the one who only declared his obedience through words but followed through with actions. “God is not interested in all of our talk. God is interested in our walk. The world is changed by people like you and me taking simple steps of obedience to whatever God has in front of us.”
We can do missions because Jesus calls us to follow Him wherever He goes. And when He calls us, he forms us into the vessels that He intends for us to be. Rev. Matthew and Stephanie Slisher share their experience as missionaries on the field and how God stirred their hearts to go. They told the students, “As you give a little bit of your heart to the Lord to be stirred He’s going to give you new and greater things. You might be comfortable and happy right where you are now, so be prepared, if you’re going to be stirred, it might get uncomfortable”.
For session three of Foundations Weekend, Dr. Fred Antonelli shares the importance of the Holy Spirit and His Baptism. He makes a clear distinction between receiving the Holy Spirit and being filled with the Holy Spirit. Every believer, at the moment of salvation, receives the Holy Spirit. Therefore, every believer has the Holy Spirit in them. However, Dr. Antonelli explains, "The Baptism of the Holy Spirit gives us the power to do great things throughout the course of our lives." We invite you to listen to this message because it will change your life.
For session two of Foundations Weekend, Rev. Matthew Slisher shares the importance of water baptism. He gives several reasons why we should not delay baptism. He states, " water baptism is a reenactment of our spiritual transaction with Christ as we walk in obedience and celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus." By choosing water baptism, we are publicly testifying our conversion to Christ and the new life we have in Him.
For the first session of Foundations Weekend 2022, Pastor Tim Case shares with our student body a foundational truth, the Lordship of Christ. Romans 1:4 states, "and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord". Pastor Tim Case emphasizes the freedom Christians have when they understand what comes from making Jesus truly the Lord of their lives. He affirms, "If we truly want to be free, we should use our freedom to trust God. We need to give up trying to be our own Lord and just let Jesus be the Lord of our lives." This is a message that you don't want to miss!
In today's sermon, Pastor Tim Fuest talks about the difference between fight and flight. He encourages the student body to always fight for their faith and flee (flight) from temptation by putting on the armor of God described in Ephesians 6. As Christians, we are called to fight for our faith through the strength of God and we are also called to flee from temptation by the strength of God. This is a great message that will help you grow in your walk with the Lord.
Pastor Tim Fuest shares from the book of James chapter 1 verses 2 to 5. He encourages the student body to seek God no matter what trials come their way. When we faithfully seek God, He gives us the strength to keep moving forward alongside Him through the trials and hardships of life. God is faithful to give us wisdom when we seek Him! Be encouraged that when you persevere and seek God He will give you what you need!

The Moravians were the first to send lay people (rather than clergy) as missionaries, the first Protestant denomination to minister to slaves, and the first Protestant presence in many countries. “May the Lamb who was slain receive the reward of His suffering” was a sentence that was the core and motivation of this mission's movement. It is inspiring to think about people that were so committed to Jesus that they were able to say goodbye to their families and to sell themselves into slavery. Nowadays we have all the resources we need to fulfill the great commission, but still, we do not have open hearts with a radical commitment to God. We know that we may not here from God right away but Sister Sylivia comes through with an amazing word reminding us that we should continue to pray and trust in God that he will do the impossible. As we pray we should give everything to God and let him handle anything that we may be going through. Don's miss out on what Sister Sylivia has to share about prayer and having trust in our heavenly Father.
In this simple verse of 1 Thessalonians 5:7, Paul reveals to us a simple, yet big secret to a successful Christian life: "Pray without Ceasing." We have all heard about the importance of prayer, and the students at EBIC are encouraged to focus on their prayer life with a whole week designated to exactly that. But why must we do this, and what significance does it have? In this heartfelt message, Brother Stacy Cline shares from his personal life, a way to a consistent and faithful prayer life, and blessings it will bring.
In the way the Holy Spirit moves in Phil McNeil, he opens with words of encouragement for individual students. He then brings a wonderful reminder about the impact forgiveness has on prayer. "Forgiveness and love release your prayers up to heaven, unforgiveness, and bitterness, and strife can hinder your prayers." Pastor Phil encourages us to check your heart before God and others and the ways they can influence others. Even though we can have unforgiveness in our lives, Jesus desires to free us from this burden. Phil's insight breathes life into the freedom found when you release this weight from your heart.
"Prayer positions us to know whose we are and who we are." Jodi jumps into the hope that the Lord's Prayer has brought to many people over the years. She delves into the secrets of just how much the first 3 lines have to reveal to us. Showing the power not in the words of Prayer but the heart of those speaking it. This simple Prayer packs a larger spiritual punch than it might seem at first, but is worth saying to our Father. Searching for a deeper look into a well-worn path, stay here and wait for a moment, the Lord's Prayer has much to say.
"Many men and women, throughout the almost 100 years of history this school, have heard from God for their direction of ministry during the week of prayer." With this encouraging word, Dr.Antonelli kicks off the Spring Semester of 2021, and Week of Prayer. He looks at his students and continues, "How many want to change the world for Christ?" If you are in need of an encouraging word to help you kickstart your year believing in the God of Miracles, this is the message for you.
During this time of uncertainty, concern, and crisis, we need to consider how the Lord would have us respond. Our vice president Danuta Case encourages us to look to God for wisdom. During any time of difficult circumstances, we must put our trust in His sovereignty, not our human health, strength, wisdom, or ability. We need to put Him first above everything. As we take steps to deal with this situation and try to care for everyone's safety and health, let's trust God. Listen to this message to hear more about the steps we will be taking to prevent the spread of illness.
How many of us want to see the whole world come to Jesus? Then, we must call people not only to believe in Jesus but to become worshipers! Gabriel states: "The gospel is a call to worship and the fruit of the gospel should be worshipers". We need to become worshipers so we can produce more. It starts with us, with our way of living. We need to have a life style that honors the Lord, then we will be able to go to the world to produce more worshipers. This is a message that will change your prospective on Worship and Evangelism!
Pastor Tim Case continues the series of sermons for Worship Emphasis Week by addressing the topic of different ways to worship. He discusses physical ways of showing reverence and praise, and also expresses the importance of giving offerings taken from the blessings God has gifted us with. He ends his message on recognizing the power of music in our worship and encourages us to focus past worldly distractions surrounding our praise to be able to press into the Lord and exalt Him faithfully through all three forms of worship.
To start off Elim Bible Institute & College's Worship Emphasis Week, Dick Grout, the school's worship director, shares on the heart of worship. He lists four main points that we need to remember in order to allow us to understand the true reason we worship: Who our worship is for, Heaven is our compass, what the Father is looking for, and lastly, the shape of the cross. If we keep these in mind when we praise the Lord, he explains that we will then maintain a true heart of worship.
The mistakes we make don’t define us. Our past doesn’t define our future. We must have an eternal focus. We must look for God ideas to strive toward, to gain a worthwhile cause. We must not live for ourselves, because we will not find satisfaction in that. We will only find satisfaction if we are living for God the Father.
When you look back at your past, or at your present, what’s been your “it’s time to go further” moment? God is calling us to go deeper into relation with Him and further into His Kingdom for Him. He is calling all of us individually by name to go further. Chris Ball covers how to discover this moment by looking at Matthew 5 and 26. He uses an example from the early church that says “ a Roman solider can require you to walk a mile but I’m going to call you to go a second mile.” God is calling us to go further. Will you go further with Him?
“You cannot demand the favor of God you can only position yourself to be a recipient of His favor.” In this sermon Pastor Chris makes some impactful, heart-touching points. His message is based off of Daniel chapter 6; Daniel was unafraid and courageous, he prayed boldly even when the world around him told him it was wrong. Even after being thrown in the lion’s den he had faith to believe that God was working all things out. So like Chris had asked, “what is your reputation for serving God?” If there was one thing to take away from this whole message it would be: Don’t keep your relationship with God in a secret place. Seek Him and seek Him boldly.
In this sermon Allison Chamberland talks about being “all in” for God. She has three main points that help us understand what being all in looks like and talks about how to be all in for God. Allison covers the ups and downs of life and how to overcome them. She says: “There comes a point where you have to decide whether you’re all in or not, or the decision will be made for you.” With the season you’re in right now, what is holding you back from being all in for God?
Are you struggling with hopelessness and disappointment? It is not the end of the story yet! Jason will take us through the books of Luke, Hosea and Exodus to explain that we can bring our disappointments to the Lord. It is precisely in that place of pain and hopelessness that Jesus wants to meet us and, by the power of the cross, open up a door of hope. This massage will speak to your heart.
"God calls us to have faith". We are often tempted to doubt God's character and to believe that He won't be faithful. But God calls us to trust Him and to walk in faith. In this sermon, Jason shares Jesus' teachings on bold, persistent prayer. Jason challenges us to repent of our unbelief and begin walking out the truth. Let this message speak to your heart!

He poses the question, “since everything in the earth belongs to God, is it stealing from God if we don’t pray for the lost souls?” He also challenges us to ponder our partnership with God in light of the authority structure that He has placed here on earth. Did you know Elim was founded by people committed to prayer and intercession? Jesus’ ministry was defined by prayer. Jason Hershey challenges EBIC with the following question, are you living a life that follows Jesus’ footsteps? In this message, we hear an exhortation on the importance of intercession for the salvation of souls. He tells us, “where you live is not an accident. Seek God, find Him in that place, and lead others toward Him.” Tune in, because this is a message that will challenge your heart.
An empty pot prayer is when you have nothing left. When you are at your bottom, when you've ran the race and you can no longer stand because you are too weary. Have you felt that way before? Through this message Jason Hershey speaks to our hearts. He remind us the importance of going back to the Lord even when we feel weary. He is the one who helps us rest and recharge our souls. God is faithful and He will continue to be faithful! This message will speak to your heart.
In this message Jason shares about some of his fasting experiences and the benefits of it regarding our spiritual life. The Father said: "I am with you". When you trust God with your life and you substitute some of your everyday habits such as eating meals, friend time, family time and more, and replace it with quality time with only God, "The Holy Spirit anoints you and everything you do." Fasting is one of the many ways to humble yourself before God. What do you need to fast from in your life right now? Humble yourself before him and ask him, " God what do I need to fast from so I am able to feel you and come closer to you in a way like never before? Seek his presence today.
"Spiritual hunger is not a sign of the lack of God's presence. Rather its a sign of God's presence, that has come upon you." - Jason Heresy. Do you ever get bored of everyday life? Waking up everyday with the same routine, day by day can eventually end up feeling like we're just robots going through the motions? Jason Hersey talks about how to live a life that has God's best intentions for us rather than us just breathing and blinking trying to get by. Jason states "It is important that we have prayer as an everyday 24/7 part of our life". Ask God today to help you to build a house of prayer in our inner man/women. This is a message that will help you grow spiritually.
When we pray we need to realize that even though we can't see God, He is there. We believe this by Faith. Jason Hershey, challenge us to change our mentality in regards to prayer. As humans, we are used to talk with people who we can see. But we must speak to the Lord the same way even though we can't see Him. Through this message Jason, encourage us to develop a life centered around the Presence of the Lord, which it begins with prayer.
Are you looking into the mission field? Are you unsure how God is going to use you or even how to become all in for all that God has for you? Pastor Steve Eldin’s message has points inspired by John 7:16-18. “My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me. Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether I speak on my own. Whoever speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory, but he who seeks the glory, but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him.” How will people know that your message comes from God? If your seed is small, it’s going to reap small. Go all in for God!
“Are you as serious about God as he is to himself?” Erntz asks us three essential questions concerning our Christian faith; when you think of your life, what do you see or think of? Do you believe that God has complete control over everything in your life? This sermon is about laying your life down for God and giving Him complete control. Will you surrender today?
Jonathan talked about opposition in the church, and how it can help grow the church. Through the book of James it can be seen that facts and feelings are a poor substitute for faith. He touched on how opposition grows your faith.; when you struggle with different things in your life, it gives you a chance to grow. Preaching is by faith not by facts and feelings.
David Sliker, Alumni of EBI&C, brings a powerful message based on John 15:9. Rev. David states that "As believers we don't just watch God's love from a distance, we don't just talk about it as unfamiliar practitioners, but we have the invitation to enter and experience the burning heart of God's love for us personally! We can spend our life to enter into this fellowship!". As you listen to this sermon, we encourage you to ask God to open your heart to receive this message!
Tracey Bickle, Eder of International House of Prayer, talks about bitterness and how not to be bitter even when we want to be bitter towards bad situations. She says that Hebrews 12:15 is one of the most challenging verses that there is for us as Bible students to follow. We need to be and look diligent towards God, and not our phones. She also talks about how our relationship with God is affected when our emotions are affected poorly. God is the author of our life and he is going to choose how our life goes.
Pastor Mike raised a question "how much of our lives do we keep a hold of past rejections, hurts, and lies that the devil has told us? Have we been able let go of these wounds? Have you ever run into someone else’s past wounds and accidentally offended them without meaning to do so because you didn’t know their past?" Through this message, he helps us navigate in these difficult areas of our lives. Isaiah 53:3 states “Jesus was despised, forsaken, and rejected.” For our sake and not he has made us free! Can we accept his freedom today?
Have you ever learn what does it mean to be baptized in the Holy Spirit? Jesus stated that “the Holy Spirit is the one who convicts the world, and lives in us when we become God's children”. But, we are missing His baptism. Do you want to be baptize and fill by His Holy Spirit? This is a message that will help you understand deeper what all these mean
Nathan Sanders, EBIC Alumni, encourages our students by making this question, “Would I obey and enter the waters of baptism? Would I be willing to obey Jesus commandment of water baptism? If you have questions about being Baptize in Water, this message will help you understand deeper the meaning of Water Baptism and why is important that Christians do it.
"Jesus is Lord whether you are committed or not". "He is the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, He is above all, great and mighty". Pastor Mike states that in order for us to enter into a bigger relationship with God is necessary for Him to become the King of our lives”. We need to remember that Jesus will always be the King in spite of us and our decisions. If we don't make Him the Lord of our lives it will only affect our future. We lose more without Him. Are you willing to surrender your life to His Lordship?
Ryan MacDonald is an encourager and a visionary to the ministry of God. He speaks life into every person he comes in contact with. For our All Elim Chapel, Ryan exhort us to pray for unity within the church. He states that we need each other. When we are together we can show God's love to the world in a better way. Psalms 133:1 says "behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity". We invite you to listen to this message!
