Hi! I'm Mark Schroder and welcome to my Podcast! I am a Christian who is convinced that the Bible is true and the best way to get to know God- the one who has saved us by Jesus Christ.
This podcast is a collection of Bible talks I have given. You see, I'm an ordained Sydney Anglican Minister. My main role is as the College Chaplain at a P-12 Anglican School. I speak regularly at our College Chapels and also from time to time at Church, youth groups or other youth and childrens ministry events.
I hope that these podcasts help you to understand God and his word so that you can live for him.

Romans 5:1-8 NIV [1] Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, [2] through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. [3] Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; [4] perseverance, character; and character, hope. [5] And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. [6] You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. [7] Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. [8] But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

This one is the first of about 10 Front Door Devotions on 1 John. 1 John was written by John to a group of christians during a very unsettling situation. For the original hearers of this letter people were leaving the church and denying that Jesus is the Son of God. There were also people among them who were stirring up hostility. Nevertheless, John writes and encourages them. He wants them to keep in mind that even in unsettling times that God is with them as they adhere to the truth.
For us, we too need to stick to the truth in these trying times remembering that God is with us.

This Bible bit covers the reign of King Saul including his moment of foolishness where the kingdom is taken away from him.
Saul, didn't do the one thing he should have. He should have pointed people to God and had them depend on God rather than Saul. Thankfully Jesus isn't like that! Jesus depends on God and even goes to the cross because its according to Gods will.

This talk is based on 2 Samuel 22:47- "‘The Lord lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be my God, the Rock, my Saviour!
King David in 2 Samuel sings a song about his life and at the end, he gives credit to the muscle behind his successes.
We ought to be able to identify with David in this verse, for like him we experience victory and success but also turmoil and sadness. In one moment we are full of energy and in another we are exhausted. One day we have plenty while in another day we have little. Our world is ever changing. We are ever changing and things never stay the same.
So as we begin 2019, our college verse should encourage us. For like David, although our life is full of all kinds of commotion, in the end- because of Jesus, we will win through to a period of peace. Yes, God is our rock in our daily grind, but what’s even better is that in Jesus, God has delivered us from the turmoil of sin.
In this Bible talk I encourage our college community to to rely on God, our living rock, our saviour.
