Out 'N About is a podcast dedicated to promoting open-minded conversation consisting of varying opinions. Sandy and I have traveled all over the world, living in the slums of Mumbai and South America, all the way to one of the richest parts of the US. We have been able to gain a unique perspective on how the world works. It is very apparent that in today's world, everyone is looking to be offended by any differing opinion from their own. Our hope is to show the world that you can be open-minded to different views of the world without being offended. We are here to entertain and inform, so keep an open mind and enjoy!

Griffin Donovan is a 22-year-old Lift Operator hailing from Springfield, Massachusets. A daredevil at heart, Daddy Donovan, as the locals refer to him, is part of a group of high-altitude cliff jumpers on the east coast, high altitude being 40-90 feet. Parker Colleen Trosper is a ski instructor hailing from Fairbanks, Alaska. He is my roommate that comes in between 2 and 4 every morning, regardless of early-morning shifts. Also, he contributes anywhere from 33-95% of the horrendous odor of sweaty socks and dead rodents that plagues our room. Parker enjoys cold beer, keeping a sub-500 record at the apartment pool table, and attending Latin Night at the local watering hole.

Jacob Cotner is a 19-year-old lift operator from Atlanta, Georgia. He came here to shred pow and learn somewhere in the range of 10 to 20 Spanish phrases that will garner him enough street cred to, one day, own and operate his very own hybrid snowboard/break dance/pastry shop, Sin Duda.

It seems like it’s been a lifetime since our last podcast. In the last 10 days, we began to take on water, lost our deckhand, saw the SS Ric Flair sink to the bottom of the ocean, and saw ourselves stranded in Raleigh, North Carolina. After an incredible 5 weeks of travel, the universe decided to take a steamer on our chests, effectively ending the trip. Tune in to catch the chaos that was the last 10 days of the SS Ric Flair.

After a month of planning and work, Will Markway and I took off for our epic RV trip. at the time of this recording, we are in Springfield, Illinois, my hometown. Swetha Newcomb is an incredibly gifted private chef, providing luxurious home-cooked meals to upscale residents in the Kansas City area. She went through the traditional culinary school route of working in a restaurant for 3 years when she finally decided that she had had enough and went out on her own. Swetha’s maiden name is Gondi and she was actually born in India before her parents immigrated to the United States when she was only a baby. She makes the trip back to India once every other year and has seen plenty more of the world through her travels!

Professionally, Sam Mcreynolds is a gifted audio engineer, but before that, he is a human with feelings and emotions. Bryan Maxwell Turner is a former semi-professional soccer player and owner/operator of the lifestyle brand/soccer training program, No Stress Midwest. Max, as many people call him, finished a contract for a large engineering firm, and decided that he was tired of working towards someone else’s dream. He made the decision that he would rather work 80 hours per week towards his own dream than 40 hours per week for someone else’s. Dan Geist just got done teaching his first year of middle school World History at a private school in the Kansas City area. Before that he graduated with a degree in Secondary Education from Kansas State University, in which time he spent a semester studying in Prague and traveling around Europe. Between us, we have touched a large portion of 3 continents outside of North America, and whether it was from our travels or Dan’s year of teaching, we noticed the same glaring truth. From elementary school all the way through university, the US education system is flawed in many ways that leave our youth stressed, in debt, and less equipped for the real world than ever before!

Brandon Haggard spent 2 years living and working in Kolkata, India after he graduated from Kansas State University. Before he went out there, he thought what many young Americans think, that he had the world figured out and that his shit didn’t stink. Immersing yourself in a culture that is so defined by its community after spending your entire life in a culture that is so defined by individuality will come with its resistance. After about 6 months in India, Brandon was able to gain some perspective that would teach him one of life’s greatest lessons: different is not wrong.

Before he made his way to Spain, his professional career started with 1 year each in Frankfurt, Germany and Trento, Italy. Shavon has said that due to reaching the heights of Spanish 3 in high school, Spain has been his favorite country so far. Currently, he is dealing with life under lockdown abroad while waiting to hear about the fate of his professional season!

Dawson Gurley is a famous YouTuber, running the incredibly successful channel, BigDawsTV. You may also know him as the infamous Klay Thompson alter ego, Thay Klompson. However, Dawson didn’t always know that he was meant for YouTube fame. Coming out of high school in Olathe, Kansas, Dawson missed the deadline to sign up for a fraternity with all of his buddies at KU, and ultimately decided to go a different route. Little did he know, that would be one of the greatest things that could have ever happened to him.
After failing out of community college, Dawson decided to move out to Arizona to start his rap career. When that didn’t go as planned, he decided to finish his Associate’s degree with the hope of transferring to Arizona State. That was until he woke up to one of his videos on Good Morning America, and from there he knew that his future awaited him on YouTube. Since then, he has grown to new heights every year, even pretending to be a Cuban named “Nico” in one of his videos. So basically, I am famous af.

ONA13: Nemo Douglass - Money to Marijuana
Nemo Douglass is a 27-year-old investor and entrepreneur. After getting kicked out of Arizona State, Nemo created a social app, and while marketing this app, he found his way into Forex investing. In less than a year, Nemo created his own online course that taught investors how to trade in the international currency market. Nemo went on to travel all over the world, immersing himself in a variety of different cultures, and that’s how he landed in Medellin, Colombia. Over a year later, Nemo still resides in Colombia with his girlfriend and has recently purchased his very own cannabis farm, looking to take advantage of the looming global legalization of marijuana.
From Olathe, Kansas to Colombia, Nemo has been able to gain some very unique and valuable life experience. His journey has taught him to assimilate into different cultures, make connections, and run a successful business.
