Out 'N About is a podcast dedicated to promoting open-minded conversation consisting of varying opinions. Sandy and I have traveled all over the world, living in the slums of Mumbai and South America, all the way to one of the richest parts of the US. We have been able to gain a unique perspective on how the world works. It is very apparent that in today's world, everyone is looking to be offended by any differing opinion from their own. Our hope is to show the world that you can be open-minded to different views of the world without being offended. We are here to entertain and inform, so keep an open mind and enjoy!
Niccomedow Justice Anan joins ONA as the first ‘Nicco’ to sit down with me on the podcast. We talk about everything from golf to Human Centipede.

Season 1 - Park City, Utah
This season’s adventure takes place in Park City, Utah, where I’m working as a Liftee (lift operator) on the largest ski resort in North America. I came out here in order to learn how to snowboard and forge connections that will last a lifetime. My hope, as always, is that if I stay open to it, life will present me with opportunities that will lead me to more and more adventures.

Griffin Donovan is a 22-year-old Lift Operator hailing from Springfield, Massachusets. A daredevil at heart, Daddy Donovan, as the locals refer to him, is part of a group of high-altitude cliff jumpers on the east coast, high altitude being 40-90 feet. We’ve only known each other for a couple of months but I love this man like a brother. Check out his stache on his OnlyGrams in the links below.

Patrick Bay is a lift operator from Provo, Utah, but he’s so much more than that. A pre-award-winning rapper, movie enthusiast, avid snowboarder, former Morman, deep thinker, and most importantly, my great friend, Patrick Bay is a metaphorical onion. Take a listen as I peel back the layers.

He is working as a fellow lift operator, using his ride breaks to ensure he can hit a 720 triple Mcnasty something by the end of the season. Krevlar? You bet your sweet ass he does.

Coming in from Atlanta at 6 feet, 8 inches, 110 pounds, Hartwell Abbot Shaw is a naturally gifted snowboarder, creative business owner, and human fart volcano. He also has one of the most positive vibes of any person I've met in my 28 years and I'm stoked to have him as a friend.

Parker Colleen Trosper is a ski instructor hailing from Fairbanks, Alaska. He is my roommate that comes in between 2 and 4 every morning, regardless of early-morning shifts. Also, he contributes anywhere from 33-95% of the horrendous odor of sweaty socks and dead rodents that plagues our room. Parker enjoys cold beer, keeping a sub-500 record at the apartment pool table, and attending Latin Night at the local watering hole.

It seems like it’s been a lifetime since our last podcast. In the last 10 days, we began to take on water, lost our deckhand, saw the SS Ric Flair sink to the bottom of the ocean, and saw ourselves stranded in Raleigh, North Carolina. After an incredible 5 weeks of travel, the universe decided to take a steamer on our chests, effectively ending the trip. Tune in to catch the chaos that was the last 10 days of the SS Ric Flair.

Our road to get here saw us visit friends in Rhode Island and New Jersey, stopping to eat some authentic Italian food and try our hands at surfing. Did Will get up on a wave? The theme of the day is jerseys. Between Patrick Mahomes, the Cardinals, and Will’s high school alma mater, there’s a plethora of representation. We are coming off the most amazing sunrise that we’ve ever witnessed at Cadillac Mountain, the first point of sunrise in the US. It was a breath of fresh air that we all needed, especially before running into a slight disaster only a few days later!

The theme of the day is Jessica Simpson from Dukes of Hazzard, aka, we tied our shirts in a knot to look real fine. The date today is August 31st, 2020, and here we sit in Yarmouth, Maine. We were invited to stay with the Haags for the weekend, the family of a girl that I met in Nepal last year, and have had an absolutely incredible experience. In fact, the entire state of Maine has been very kind to the boys and me, but it’s a well-kept secret that we just don’t want to share!

After a month of planning and work, Will Markway and I took off for our epic RV trip. at the time of this recording, we are in Springfield, Illinois, my hometown. Today, we enjoyed some time with my family and a good ole fashion hamburger horseshoe. Tomorrow, we will head north to Chicago before picking up Jack in Toledo. Stay tuned!
Out ‘N About is hitting the road on August 8th. We’re taking my 1992 Fleetwood Flair RV up to Maine, down the East Coast, and back. 60 days. 8500 miles. Oh yeah, and we’re trying to raise $1M for charity while we do it. We’ll be documenting the entire thing on our YouTube channel, and that’s where Jack Blake comes in. Jack is an incredibly gifted and creative photographer and video producer. Help us complete our goal and donate at the link below!

Bryan Maxwell Turner is a former semi-professional soccer player and owner/operator of the lifestyle brand/soccer training program, No Stress Midwest. Max, as many people call him, finished a contract for a large engineering firm, and decided that he was tired of working towards someone else’s dream. He made the decision that he would rather work 80 hours per week towards his own dream than 40 hours per week for someone else’s. We met on a train to Chicago, where Max laid out his vision for his company, and low and behold, 18 months later, he is absolutely thriving!

Dan Geist just got done teaching his first year of middle school World History at a private school in the Kansas City area. Before that he graduated with a degree in Secondary Education from Kansas State University, in which time he spent a semester studying in Prague and traveling around Europe. Between us, we have touched a large portion of 3 continents outside of North America, and whether it was from our travels or Dan’s year of teaching, we noticed the same glaring truth. From elementary school all the way through university, the US education system is flawed in many ways that leave our youth stressed, in debt, and less equipped for the real world than ever before!

Brandon Haggard spent 2 years living and working in Kolkata, India after he graduated from Kansas State University. Before he went out there, he thought what many young Americans think, that he had the world figured out and that his shit didn’t stink. Immersing yourself in a culture that is so defined by its community after spending your entire life in a culture that is so defined by individuality will come with its resistance. After about 6 months in India, Brandon was able to gain some perspective that would teach him one of life’s greatest lessons: different is not wrong.

Dawson Gurley is a famous YouTuber, running the incredibly successful channel, BigDawsTV. You may also know him as the infamous Klay Thompson alter ego, Thay Klompson. However, Dawson didn’t always know that he was meant for YouTube fame. Coming out of high school in Olathe, Kansas, Dawson missed the deadline to sign up for a fraternity with all of his buddies at KU, and ultimately decided to go a different route. Little did he know, that would be one of the greatest things that could have ever happened to him.
After failing out of community college, Dawson decided to move out to Arizona to start his rap career. When that didn’t go as planned, he decided to finish his Associate’s degree with the hope of transferring to Arizona State. That was until he woke up to one of his videos on Good Morning America, and from there he knew that his future awaited him on YouTube. Since then, he has grown to new heights every year, even pretending to be a Cuban named “Nico” in one of his videos. So basically, I am famous af.

ONA13: Nemo Douglass - Money to Marijuana
Nemo Douglass is a 27-year-old investor and entrepreneur. After getting kicked out of Arizona State, Nemo created a social app, and while marketing this app, he found his way into Forex investing. In less than a year, Nemo created his own online course that taught investors how to trade in the international currency market. Nemo went on to travel all over the world, immersing himself in a variety of different cultures, and that’s how he landed in Medellin, Colombia. Over a year later, Nemo still resides in Colombia with his girlfriend and has recently purchased his very own cannabis farm, looking to take advantage of the looming global legalization of marijuana.
From Olathe, Kansas to Colombia, Nemo has been able to gain some very unique and valuable life experience. His journey has taught him to assimilate into different cultures, make connections, and run a successful business. Pay close attention to this one, as it is full of great advice from someone who is absolutely kicking life’s ass. Enjoy!

What do Kim Jong-un and I have in common? Well, besides our shared love for Ryan Reynolds and all things Paul Simon, we can both eat like complete assholes. Kim’s love for junk food has landed him in some hot water, putting the future of his country further into the realm of the unknown. Mine has landed me on the toilet about 3 times a day since I broke my one-month carnivore diet, which is only appropriate because 2020 has found itself in the shitter so far.

In times like these, it’s real easy to sit on the couch and watch Netflix all day, one hand in your pants while using the other to shove an entire sleeve of cookies down your throat. Just because you can’t leave your domicile doesn’t mean you can’t still be social. I’m sure you’ve all seen “virtual happy hours” on social media, but here at Out ‘N About, we like to take it up a notch. That’s why we assembled the crew to play a raunchy game of Quiplash, Zoom style. Warning, if you have soft ears, this one is going to sting.

That’s why today, Sandy and I have chosen to take on the world and some of its issues. From the dispute in the South China Sea to Zoom happy hours, we break down what’s going on and where we might be headed. One thing that we as earth people can agree on, however, is R.I.P. BBD.

Thinking about hopping on a plane and going on vacation? If you live under a rock, are a Raiders fan, or just don’t use the internet, then your answer to that question is probably yes. Well, my guest today, Trevor Moy, is a data analyst for American Airlines, and he’s here to tell you why right now is probably not a great time to head for the airport. The world is clearly in a state of panic, both socially and economically, but with so many countries shutting down their borders to any outsiders, no one has felt it more than the airline industry. So, unpack those bags, kick back, and grab your “meds” because this one is full of some great information!

With seemingly the entire world going into lockdown, the day-to-day for so many people has already changed drastically. We are all presented with a choice: either you can use this time to be lazy, eat like shit, and wait it out, or you can choose to be productive, develop healthy habits, and learn more about yourself. Sandy and I have chosen option number 2, trying a 5-day fast and a 30-day carnivore diet between the two of us for a variety of reasons. We have made the choice to pick up new hobbies and dive headfirst into them while we have the time. So, which one will you choose? The choice is yours.

Sandy and I were lucky enough to grow up in the United States with enough room around us to think for ourselves. That’s not a luxury that most of the world has. I was raised in a Catholic family and am now an Atheist in my mid-20s. Sandy came up in a family that was not religious. We have both had the opportunity to live all over the world with people from different religious upbringings and that has allowed us to gain a unique perspective on religion. Just because someone has a different religious point of view doesn’t mean you can’t listen to what they have to say!

Onto Asia for Sandy and myself, a place where the beer flows like wine and beautiful women flock like the salmon of Capistrano. Well, maybe not, but it sure has been a wild 10 months. Sandy started his first teaching contract in August 2019 in Yeongwol, South Korea, where we both reside right now. I started my first contract in Bali, Indonesia, and have since worked my way around Asia to get here at the beginning of February. Stay tuned to hear about our separate journeys that led us both to where we are now!
