Apologies in advance for the grainy and turgid audio quality a lot of editing and cleaning up seemed to add up to naught in the final accounting.
Also a part, in the beginning, got yanked out for some inexplicable reason. What is digestible however signals my return back in this forbidding zone.
Guess who is back from sabbatical and walking the earth like Cain and well papa's got a brand new bag in 2023. Problems with editing messing up the intro and outro so I gave you the meat of the sandwich not the bread. :)
A game that began in December with two Booters and Armor Goes Clank host Mark Allen Kinney gamemastered by yours truly
My first deep dive in a recorded actual play ( the last did not quite make it with a group of Booters I played with some years ago.) But this is a clarion call for two slots of protagonist characters for those who might be available in the listening audience to participate in the online Skype sessions no more than two hours long max. There will be more details to follow in the upcoming weeks on this... hope you all enjoyed the Father's Day weekend.
This episode talks about musings of Facebook and social media shenanigans I have witnessed over time. Then the sexual harassment wave has begun to swell in the RPG industry as key creators (who I will leave nameless) have been publicly decried and indicted for such in the court of public opinion and removed from their positions and what this spells for us in who just want a safe haven to game. And RIGHTFULLY so our mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, girlfriends and friends at the table. The topic finally branches off to discuss the inclusion of current events and politics at the gaming table as a campaign fodder and how that has influenced me to get back into superhero RPG's after a long time not wanting to run them specifically and stayed in sci-fi territory or other genres. Specifically the late Guardians Of Order : The Authority RPG

Oh and welcome back everybody !
This is the third and final chapter of the story time installments as we march into Autumn with resolve and new purpose. I talk about doubt, uncertainty and ownership of mistakes and much, much more. Some if you may agree or disagree with it but it is HONEST, authentic, and as always a dialogue with my audience.
The controversial series of introspection continues with my thoughts and personal experiences covering the collective failure of the Civil Rights movement and its generation. The impossibility of integration as a principle and why it was doomed to begin with. Obama and other puppets placed to make people acquiesce and get comfortable under a corrupt political machine and the corporate interests. And the illusion of some black men that believe interracial dating is a solution under the executioner shadow of white nationalism and supremacy in this nation. The illusion I woke up from just in time but not before I was served up the punishing system myself as a lesson. When interracial sex is just an anesthetic to distract and make him groggy before he sees the axe coming for his neck. And that racial hate and believe of inferiority and superiority exists even while lust and sexual acts and even cohabitation are present. It is just compartmentalized.
Facebook frustrations, corporate politics, gender warring, accusations of false sexual harassment reveal a beginning segment of life lessons to the listener. This is a cautionary tale of let the buyer beware and how naiveté and the lesser guarded with the armor of intellect and self awareness will find themselves face down and floating and carried away by the river. Where the bodies of your enemies should occupy.
This RECORDING apologies is f**ing lousy. Jonathan either had speakers on or no headset because the Skype reverb and echo effect is bad. With editing there was very little that could be done. A clip of the episode is gone where I started to talk about black economic empowerment under white nationalism. But then the audio picks up again. So pick up what gems that are salvageable from this broadcast but I do not hold this as being our golden bar standard.
Chris Mais regales you with PSA stuff and other stuff in his 19 minute return chiming in about gaming and wondering HEY how have you BEEN and of course things to come....
This episode the host Chris talks at length about gruesome deaths in campaigns and the opportunities and the pitfalls of them as a tool for roleplaying both as GM and as a player.
This episode Chris discusses the shift of favored campaigns from those that are less so and the fickle nature of both players and GM's at the table and the personalities and the fun that is both shared and lost as a result.
Hey guys a return solo episode for August after and absence of many, many months but you get me Chris Mais with a topic on game death, change schedules, player and GM inspiration and how to get back into the sync of game zen. This is a short episode and well if you hear the tinny audio apologies in advance guys.. that is the air conditioner because of the heat wave striking us in the Northeast both day and night.
Chris , Ray and Keith get together just before the end of the year. Except Keith edited after the new year.

This is actual play from Fear the Con 8. There is some background noise from the con. I wanted to see if it’s still Listenable before posting it on Kicked in the dicebags Podcast feed. Using Fate Accelerated Rules from Evil Hat Productions. I tend to run these Fast and loose so It may not a perfect example of the ruleset.
Things I used for this session Rorie’s Story cubes as an ice breaker to start engaging people and to come up with the events that happened before the start of the game. (not recorded)
Backstory Cards from Brooklyn Indie Games. I used to help tie the Characters together and with the settings Factions/NPC’s.

Chris GamerGate controversy... the kill or be killed conventions in gaming with heroes and when does that go over the line and the hero get his card yanked... Chris third what do you do when the game hits the elephant in the room with the cloaking device a sticky subject or a topic that upsets a player outright that the GM had no idea would be a trigger for that person how do you back up and reverse out of the sinkhole ? Retcon to be or not to be... Anthony how does a player choose/balance between the character they want to play vs. usefulness in the game. We also took some questions from listeners, best way to get ahold of us is joining the kicked in the dicebags players edition facebook group. Jenny How about advice on how to avoid getting the spotlight shoved on you? I'm currently in a game with players who are new to the idea of non-combat-centric RPGs, and they kind of rely on me too much to push the story along sometimes, and will occasionally view my character as a leader or a superior, when I am literally playing the new intern who doesn't know shit. How could someone, either as a player or a GM, encourage the newbies to step it up? Nathan Do you use the rule of cool, have you ever used story trumps rules, or does it have to be played/ran by the book? back to a great start thanks for sticking with us!
In this interview segment I( Chris Mais ) sit down with Shanna Germain, of Monte Cook Games, one of the co-creators and editor of the Strange and Numenera. And this original interview was chopped up but we got back together and took a second go at it and here it is.
This is a solo episode where it is just me Chris Mais talking about the show, the future and concerns about Ferguson and racial harmony.

Dan Repperger and Johnny G, Established Hypothesis errm Facts.. hosts Josh Demaree and Derek Knutsen and of course Player's Edition fixture Adam Gottfried. Unfortunately the recording has a bit of a lag/ echo effect that even with superior editing ability could not be phased out so bear with us and enjoy our end of season discussion which sounds suspicious like a snap fingers fight from the Jets and Sharks of West Side story!
Enjoy and Merry Christmas !

There is something else I'm supposed to link, but I can't remember what it was... OH WELL!
So Keith, Chad and I were going to try and record this week, but things got out-of-control crazy and it didn't happen. Fortunately, I had something else in the hopper (so to speak) that was more or less ready to go. So I woke up this morning, got it all ready and packaged, added an announcement bumper at the beginning, listened through and created some show notes, logged into LibSyn to drop the episode and lo-and-behold! No fucking space. Or rather, space, but not enough to contain this monster of epicness that I was about to unleash on the masses.
So what to do? Point the finger? I can easily blame the MasterCast for their spotty, inefficient production standards (which is to say not produce anything until we all breathe a collective sigh of relief at it's obvious demise until it rears it's ugly noble-bear shaped head at some random point in the time stream), or I can blame you, the listeners, for not paying us enough money to pay for Chad's sex addiction, Keith's energy drink problem, and my inability to love anything but Pathfinder. Either way, the blame clearly does not fall on my shoulders.
So that said, I think I'll make you wait like Grand Master Blueballs until such a time that I see fit to allow you in on this monumental package I keep barely restrained in my pants- er... computer.
So stay tuned!
In which we welcome back host Chris Mais and have a rambling late-night talk, so not too much in the show notes department...

Question of the Week [1:11:45]: If you had a lightsaber, what would you do with it?
So... Life has been kind of crazy of late.
I just got a new job at an elementary school (BRAINS! YOUNG IMPRESSIONABLE BRAINS!) and so while we have recorded an episode (24, by my count, featureing Chad and Wayne from FtB) I haven't had ANY time to edit it. Fortunately Keith (who wasn't even on this episode) has graciously agreed to edit the episode, so it should be dropping no later than this next Saturday (10/8/2011).
Also, we have a few new features for our podcast.
Player's Edition has a Twitter feed (our name: @KitDB_Players).
We also have new forums, within the Fear the Boot Forum Boards: http://www.feartheboot.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=57
Also, you can always e-mail us at KTDPlayersEdition@gmail.com.
See you soon and stay tuned!

How to Host a Dungeon (http://planet-thirteen.com/Dungeon.aspx)
This week, in addition to Chad and Adam, we are joined by Mikey Mason, Johnny G., and Wayne Cole, and we talk about their respective creative endeavors.
First, Mikey Mason talks about his chosen vocation (among other things), as well as some of the success garnered from She Don’t Like Firefly (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-yHSaP0Dyg) as well as his new geek-centric album, Impotent Nerd Rage (http://kunaki.com/sales.asp?PID=PX00ZV77OA).
Somewhere in here we talk about Regretsy (http://www.regretsy.com/) and… other stuff.
Then, Johnny G. talks about his new creative endeavor, Bloodmoon Goblins (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bloodmoon/bloodmoon-goblins).
Oh yeah, and the tampon chandelier (http://www.odditycentral.com/pics/the-tampon-chandelier-of-joana-vasconcelos.html) and www.OddityCentral.com/.
And lastly, Wayne Cole talks about his serial fiction, Metropolis (http://www.skiesofglass.com/index.php/archives/author/wayne/page/6).
And then our Character Concept of the Week is an unnaturally hairy attorney vampire LARPer pedo- er- smartass named Wankle.

Sir Nick the Awesome returns to the mics!
Adam and Nick BS a whole bunch about how to run a successful epic game (focussing heavily on D&D epic play), and the elements that compose a good epic game, drawing from their own experiences over the years.
Key word being BS.
Hey Guys, I wanted to chime in here and say thanks again to everyone. I looked on the site and to me the impossible happened. It was a joke to me I never thought we would be given serious consideration by the judges(given the unfortunate incident with the Fear The Boot crew and the Ennies some years back which to a large degree made me skeptical of a fair shake in the process let alone being acknowledged) and now well I stand corrected. So I want to thank everyone involved in this resurrected podcast again with feeling. Adam Gottfried, Jim Bowers, Travs Griner, Jesse Denos, Nick, Keith Byrd, Chad Watller, Chris Hussey, Dan Repperger, Wayne Cole, Pat, Noble Bear and all of the ladies everyone gracious enough to have been interviewed and anyone else I might have omitted albeit unintentionally. This show's success and continuance is due to your contribution when it almost bit it back in Episode 83 and then it was changed and reborn . Thank you all.
And now without further adieu. Get out there and vote!! =)
At long last, the battle between Good and Evil has culminated in one giant throwdown, featuring hosts from 3 different podcasts!
Chad and Dan from Fear the Boot!
Adam and Keith from Player's Edition!
Jim and Noble Bear from the MasterCast!
And the cretor of Kicked in the DiceBags and all around groovy guy, Chris Mais!
Who will be the victor?

Yep. Guys we have been out here in several incarnations for 2 years. A milestone in podcasting of no small effort of editing, skype drops, and the madness of our methods here at Kicked In The DiceBags. And it is due to you the listeners because we wouldn't be here if not for you or at least it was be quite lonely otherwise. Most of all I would like to thank Adam, Keith, Jesse, Nick, Jim, Travis, Jon Landreth, Satine Phoenix of (I HIT IT WITH MY AXE), Chad, Chris Hussey, and Dan Repperger and Ed Healy with whom talking in that restaurant back on a lazy Sunday afternoon post-con back during Fear The Con 2 spawned the seminal idea for this show. Its been a long ride and more is yet to come, great things, interviews and raising the bar and not shying away from the controversial late night banter that you have come to both expect and appreciate. This is just my thank you note to all you. And Happy Easter!
Hey guys: No Player's Edition today, we have one in the can but Keith (who does the editing) is moving this week and can't work his magic. As soon as he gets that edited, we'll release the next episode. In the meantime, hwere is a Side Project that Nick and I recorded some time ago. Hope you enjoy it!

Dan was kind enough to drop this into the Fear the Boot feed because of the limited space we have here at Kicked in the DiceBags. This is an actual play of Chad Wattler's Silent Memories game from Fear the Con 4. Playing in the game was myself (Adam), Jess (Suryal on the FtB Forums), Terry (Terrus), Steph (Moonhawke), and Stan (goatunit).
The file runs about 3.5 hours, so be warned, and enjoy!
Silent Memories
I'm going to drop this a day early because I won't likely have a chance to. For this episode we had SO MANY Skype issues that I am amazed we managed to get the hour and twenty minutes of content we did. As such, we lost Jesse twice in the course of the episode (though thanks to Keith's editing you can barely tell save that we mention it), and there are some sound quality issues that come along with using crappy Internet phone. But on the whole, it was a successsful episode and SO MUCH FUN to record, so I turly hope you enjoy it.
In this episode: Adam, Jesse and Keith are joined by Chris from the Mastercast and Chad from Fear the Boot.

This is an ACTUAL PLAY from Fear the Con 4: Chris Mais rarn his very own blacksploitation game (something he has run every year he has been at Fear the Con) and its awesome. So awesome, that we had to record it, and share it with you!
Special thanks to Joe Rossi for recording the session.
So I bet some of you are wondering what the heck is going on with Kicked in the DiceBags. We have two shows and even still, we only are able to post sporradically at best. We do apologize for that, and we hope to resolve our issues soon, but we have been having some difficulty managing the amount of space on LibSyn. The trouble is that there are almost two years of backlog, bogging down the feed.
So what are we going to do about it? Honestly, the next step from here is to have our own dedicated website. Now his will take a great deal of time and work on our end (as mentioned above, there are 2 years of backlog), but once it is done we should have all 83 episodes of the old Kicked in the DiceBags archived, 14+ episodes of Player's Edition and 5+ episodes the Mastercast will all be available. Also, if I'm understanding it correctly, we will have our own forums as well, similar to Fear the Boot. Not that the Spooky Outhosue forums are bad, per se, but with our own dedicated site, it would be nice to have dedicated forums as well.
So that is the news as I know it. Chris may have more to add, and I'll let him do so at his leisure. If you have any suggestions as to how to improve the show (outside of sound quality and editing issues: We're well aware of our shortcomings in that regard and we have worked to improve upon them), now would be the time to share. You can either comment on the show itself, or e-mail us at one fo the following locations:

Hey guys, James here.
So it turns out that the Player's Edition guys' productivity and reliable releases has led to us waiting a couple days for some of our data to be archived as we simply have too much data posted at the moment. Episodes 5 and 6 are ready to go and will be up as soon as we can post them. It may be as early as the 20th but will more likely be the 21st.
I appologize and lay all the blame at the feet of the Player's Edition for putting out good content too fast for our publishing service to keep up.
We were short on hosts this week, so at the last minute Adam and Keith are joined by Chad from Fear the Boot, and then there was awesome.

A few weeks back, one of the players in Adam's regular group recorded their World of Darkness: Innocents game from near-start to finish. Adam doesn't believe in releasing actual plays as a rule, but he listened to the session in all of its glorious 4.5 hours and put every one-liner, non sequitur, and humorous anecdote (that wasn't an inside joke) got added to a beat track. This was the result. We here at Kicked in the DiceBags hope you find it amusing.
You have been warned.
No real show notes this week as this episode was pretty organic. We were joined by Pat and Chad from Fear the Boot for this episode and it was an absolute blast.
ENJOY!
Update: The sound quality on this one was shit. I reran it through normalization and exported it at a higher bit rate and it seems better but I was only able to listen to a few bits at random points in the episode. Hopefully this one is a lot more pleasant to listen to.

Oh hi folks,
Jim here from the Master's Edition. As is evidenced by the fact that we've only posted two episodes since the KITDB reboot, the Master's Edition has had its share of speed bumps. We are working to rectify this. Episode 3 is all but ready to publish and will be done so either late tonight or sometime tomorrow morning as I am currently writing a term paper that will keep me busy well into the night.
Episode 4 has been recorded and I think it will be our best one yet with the appearance of a very special, very awesome, top secret guest host. So thanks to those who have stuck with KITDB, and thanks to the Player's Edition guys for keeping good content coming from this feed, as it has allowed us on the Master's Edition to work through these problems we've been having.
Peace
This was a blast to record! We were joined by Chad from Fear the Boot, and had a fantastic time! I hope you enjoy listening to the episode as much as we enjoyed recording it.

Hey guys, Jim here. Turns out we have this nifty blog feature here at Kicked in the Dicebags and I figured I'd get some use out of it by tossing up a product review or two. Up today we have a preview of the upcoming D&D 4e Fortune Cards. I was fortunate enough to get a hold of half a box of these cards through DMing D&D Encounters. After doling out a couple packs to the group I still had quite a few left over so I decided to try them in my home campaign.
Dungeons and Dragons Fortune Cards: Shadow Over Nentir Vale
Produced By: Wizards of the Coast
Game Line: Dungeons and Dragons Fourth Edition
What Are They: Fortune Cards are an upcoming optional addition to 4th Edition D&D. Basically they are CCG style collectable cards that provide minor tricks your character can perform or enhancements to your abilities. The scope of the powers are something like rotating, one shot feats.
The cards are divided into three categories: Attack, Defense, and Tactic. Attack cards modify your attack powers, examples include the Careful Aim card, which allows you to omit one creature from an area attack power, letting your Wizard drop a fireball on that group of monsters that are crowding your party's fighter without nuking Fytor as well; or the Reckless Violence card which allows you to take a -2 to your attack roll and grant combat advantage until the start of your next turn but gain a +4 bonus to your damage. Defense cards give you more defensive options, such as negating conditions like dazed or forced movement, or gaining bonuses to your defenses if you meet the criteria presented in the card. For example the Live and Let Live card allows you to gain +4 to all defenses until the end of your next turn, but can only be played on a turn where you do not make an attack. Tactic cards are a bit more versatile. They provide bonuses to movement, or allow you to move in a certain way that you may not normally be able, such as the Trained Advance card which allows you to shift one square when an ally within 5 squares uses a move action to shift. Tactic cards also provide other effects that don't fall under the purview of Attack and Defense cards, such as granting an ally a saving throw, or letting them take 10 on their next save or skill check.
A worry I think that many will have is that these new cards could lead to a Magic: The Gathering style power creep in which the players with the most money will end up having the most powerful characters as they can buy boosters until they get the best cards. Some may also be concerned that to use the cards at all they will have to invest a large amount of cash. WotC seems to have taken these concerns into account. Firstly, much like the Gamma World card boosters WotC stresses the fact that the boosters are optional, a group that wants to play D&D does not need to buy them but can if they want to add the extra element to their game. Second, the buy in cost is kept quite low. The cards are sold in 8 card booster packs for four bucks and a group looking to try them out can opt to have each player buy one booster and use it as their deck. Players can opt to collect more cards to build a custom deck, but from the 40+ different cards (out of a set of 80) that I've seen none of them seem overwhelmingly better than the others. Some are better in a specific situation, or more generically useful but as a whole the cards seem to take 4e's dictum of game balance to heart, not allowing any one card to be game breaking.
Using the cards is fairly simple, but took a little explanation for my group. At the start of an encounter each player draws a card. The card will tell them when it can be played and what it does. If they use the card it is discarded. At the end of their turn a player can either: draw a new card if they don't have one, keep their card, or discard their card and draw a new one. All my players picked up the idea though they had to be told a few times when they could draw or discard and sometimes forgot the cards were there . A few reminders though and the cards fit into the game without any trouble.
The random nature of the cards can effect how the players thinking an encounter and how they react to different situations. For example in the adventure I ran my group through using the cards, the players were infiltrating a keep that had been taken over by a mercenary group who had locked the rightful ruler of the land in the dungeon. The players sneaked up to the keep but were spotted as they scaled the castle wall and a fight broke out on the ramparts and in the courtyard of the keep. The party's fighter drew the Stand Firm card, which allows him to negate one forced movement. Seeing this and seeing that their is a guard tower nearby that could contain reinforcements he chose to run up and try to block the tower door to buy time for the rest of the part to get over the wall and properly situated for the coming battle.
Players can build their own decks of multiples of 10 cards, using 3 of each type plus one other card of any type for every 10 in their deck. This provides an extra degree of character customization, which is great for groups playing the Essentials line as their are not very many points at which you can make your character mechanically distinct from other characters of the same class compared to “regular” 4e. Some cards lend themselves to certain roles, but most are generically useful and serve more to add flavour and interesting options to any character.
I've always been of the school of thought that the mechanical options in a game system should not only be tactically useful, but be able to reflect the character's personality in some way. Fortune Cards provide an excellent way of doing this. For example let's say I wanted to build a pirate captain character who was a chronic gambler with a penchant for taking long shot risks. So I build my character, lets say I make him a ranger, since dual cutlasses sounds awesome. Then I go to my collection of Fortune Cards. Knowing that my character is a risk taker several cards stand out to me, Gambler's Dodge and Gambler's effort seem fitting. Gambler's dodge lets me make a saving throw when I take damage and if I succeed I only take half damage. Gamblers Effort lets me roll a d20 when I make an attack, on a 1-9 I fumble in some way and only deal half damage, but on a 10+ I get a damage bonus. Very in keeping with the risk taking pirate captain. Other cards lend themselves to other personality types, like Distracting Banter could be used for a smart mouthed character or a charismatic, silver tongued type character or Might Makes Right and Gang Up could be used for a brutal gang leader or warlord type character.
Final Word: Fortune Cards add an interesting new element to 4th Edition D&D and allow for interesting character customization. The fact that they can only use one randomly determined card per turn seems to encourage some creative thinking from players and makes combats less predictable. If I had to point out cons in them I'd point to the fact that they could get expensive if a player was dedicated to collecting them all just like any collectable cards, and the fact that it is an extra physical item to tote around and keep organized; something that can be burdensome when you already have to worry about toting around notes, maps, miniatures, dice, pencils, snacks etc to your game sessions.

Hey guys, Jim here. We had some technical difficulties with the recording so there are a few bad editing cuts where I was forced to try and splice together us picking up from dropped calls. Hopefully it isn't too bad and you still enjoy the show. If not well, mea culpla.

Hey everyone!
Are you ready for a little GIRL ON GIRL ACTION? GIRLS talking with GIRLS about GIRLS gaming and GIRL gamers! GIRL!
Here's what happened: About a week and a half ago, Minnesota was hammered with a major blizzard: 20 inches of snow in 20 hours. This is the worst snowfall we've had since 1991, so pretty much the entire Twin Cities metro area shut down, including the places where my wife and I work. So my wife and our two good friends (all three of whom are of the feminine persuasion) got on the mics in their jammies and jawed about gaming. So here it is! I hope you enjoy it!

Hey guys, Adam again.
Nick and I sat down and had a conversation about the aforementioned types of gamers. We define them (as best we know how), talk about what it is to be these things, and how to deal with it when you have one of these in your game. I don't know how successful we were at that last part, but...
If you have definitions or suggestions, go ahead and leave them in the Comments prompt below, shoot us an e-mail at kickedinthedicebags@gmail.com, or catch me on the Fear the Boot Forums - my forum handle is: The Almighty Bear.
Next week, we've got something special planned, so stay tuned...

Hey all, Adam here from the Kicked in the Dicebags Players Edition. When Chris Mais took us on board and excitedly explained his vision for the future of his podcast, we were all very stoked. During that conversation, Chris gave us his blessing to work on projects of our own and drop them in the feed. I toyed with the notion of dropping this in the Bullshittery category, but as the content of the episode is relevant to the things we discuss in the normal podcast, I felt it better to drop it here.
The recording of the pilot episode of the Players Edition was recorded in two large chunks on two separate days. On the second day of recording, Nick and I found ourselves on Skype waiting for Keith to get his equipment set up. I was itching to test my newly-downloaded mp3 recorder, so I suggested to Nick that we try and record a sort of mini-episode, just the two of us. What you find here is the result.
I hope you enjoy it: I intend to do more of these in the future.

Dungeons and Dragons Movie - This has some stuff related to what Nick and I were talking about in the episode.
A brand new day has arisen in podcasting. Answering the call put out by Fear The Boot of a empty co- host chair that one man left, eight men entered and the whole playing field has changed. Meet Keith, Adam G and Nick as they dive right in to the pilot episode, introductions, resumes of roleplaying cred, top geek movie picks, and how we come up with character concepts. I really have to tell you these guys rock and come out of the gate swinging but don't take my word for it. Take a listen!! And stay tuned to hear the other half of the rest of the yet unnamed hosts as they get on the mikes with me on the Kicked In The DiceBags: The Masters Edition!!
In this episode wihich is well over two hours long we ( myself, Evil Mark, Collin, Kim and Marc) discuss characters that will inhabit the Slipstream actual play game and their concepts as well as stats, skills and things that will distinguish them in the game setting and we hash out rules. After that topic is covered (and I apologize we had fewer Skype drops to edit) then we discuss at length bad science fiction movies. the let downs of the production studio, possible remakes and why or why they shouldn't be made and the idea of retconning as opposed to rebooting a concept.
While I am cobbling together finding and trying to rebuild Episode 81 that Collin and I recorded from the previous week, here is the strategy session scrathing the surface talks between Mark Kinney from (All Games Considered), Kimberly Unger (video game designer) and her husband, Marc Unger as we talk between apologetic skype drops about basic character concepts, NPC's and the window dressing of the Slipstream game and basics of the Savage Worlds rules set are discussed.

Jonathan is under the weather with what appears to be the ITIS.. from a run in with good portions of pepperoni pizza and chugging Diet Coke. While he is recovering I figured I would take the time to thanks our fans, detractors, and people we have interviewed and all of guests hosts on our show in 2009 which has been a wild ride. What did we learn this year..well we learned that we can survive a Judd War and that Jonathan can say fuck Paul Tevis with eloquence and grace and yet not diminish the man himself.
And if you happen to walk in from work and catch your wife fucking the family dog you should shoot her and give him a strip of bacon.
And we are hoping to raise the bar for 2010 by pushing the envelope until it breaks. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and best of the New Year of 2010, the space odyssey continues.

I read this book about a year ago (based on this man on the cover's real life exploits) and I picked it up again this summer and re-read it. I seldom do this with books unless I really enjoy them. It makes the train wreck you are reading so much fucking fun I don't know where to start. I never knew that being an asshole could be elevated to an art form. Nevertheless, whether you aspire to be Tucker Max or choose to regard this as a cautionary tale, this is a must have on the book shelf.

In the last show I mentioned I 'd been reading Garth Ennis latest comic for Avatar Press called Crossed. It is a really top notch comic for the following reasons. Garth Ennis is reason number one. Let 's face it I got into Preacher the seminal comic of the nineties quite late and when I paged through it trade after trade I liked what I read.
But I digress... the subject of Crossed...
It follows the journey of several survivors of an inexplicable wave of madness that assailed their town and the people infected with this madness look like the guy above.
And how that journey changes them in the process.
How you do deal with something of a curve ball not familiar to the reader like zombie hordes and legions of the undead but something that was once a person and now is quite insane and homicidal with no off switch and they work together with a tribal intelligence to make sure you either join their ranks of madness or die ?
Crossed is only 4 issues in so far so it is an easy buy in to put your duckets down for a really good ride.
